  1. So close yet so far. But it wasn't too long ago 16 seeds were being completely blown out every game and this year each of them made it close for atleast a while before being over taken.

I did most of my picks off of my gut and tried not to think about them too much. My gut told me George Mason but I decided to go with Michigan St....d'oh.

And Herb Sendek probably just saved his job.

  2. So far so good..not just tournament games themselves which have been great but I haven't lost a Sweet 16 team yet...though that could change, especially since I do have a couple questionable picks (such as Texas A&M, Wisc-Milwaukee, and Bucknell getting another upset into the Sweet 16).

Though there's still several games to be played, my Washington bracket is clean. Minneapolis I only got Nevada/Montana wrong and so far I only got Alabama/Marquette wrong in Oakland. Atlanta's been my worst bracket so far, as I predicted UNCW over GW...so close too...and then the upset of Northwestern ruined Iowa.

The 16th seeds all looked pretty good and it looks like they're getting closer and closer to pulling off the upset. It has to happen one day, and with UConn still to play...it won't this year, but all the 16 seeds so far showed at some point in the game that they could play with the one seeds, even if they couldn't keep it up for the entire game. But it's only a matter of time.

I hope the tournament games stay this exciting though, because so far it's been pretty wild.

  4. Yeah and while they weren't on screen at the same time, Ana, Michael, and Jin are all clearly seen walking up at the same spot where Shannon saw Walt and ran after him at. Looks like people just reading too much into the fact that they weren't on screen together when the reason for that is most likely simply because it's more effective to have it cut between the two different parties because of the distance.

I really liked Shannon, if not just for the fact that I find Maggie Grace incredibly hot, but still...and her flashbacks and actions in this episode was making me like her even more, but I expected her to bite the bullet, so to speak here. I do find it interesting that at the end of this episode, it's kind of unclear which survivor is "lost forever" whether it be Shannon, Cindy, or even Sawyer at this point. I tend to believe Sawyer is going to be fine, and Cindy may be irrelevant since she's one of the "taillies" and to be honest with, I must've not been paying enough attention to them because I can't even remember which one she was.

So while its not really clear if Shannon lives or dies, I'd say if she wasn't yet, she probably wouldn't last much longer given the nature of where she was shot and the fact that I don't think even Jack could save her.

Poor Shannon :( I hope Sayid shows Ana Lucia the methods of torture he gave Sawyer in Season 1.

And I'm glad they're giving us this "from the beginning" look at the other survivors, just so we can get some more understanding on their personalities and such so that we can have more feeling for them...cause like I said, I didn't even know who Cindy was and could really care less at this point about her dissappearance.

And I'm guessing "extended" episode means it'll run over a couple minutes or so (I think they did that a couple times last season), because there was still a preview for Invasion's next week.

  5. Glad to see you keep this alive, thug. And I think the show was worth the wait.

Nice to see you actually use the Money in the Bank in a way to make Edge look a real sneaky and coniving asshole. Now all he needs his a few solid title defenses and he's well on his way to being a great heel champion. And while he lost, he kind of elevates Matt Hardy a bit as well since he came close to beating the now champ. And I'm all for Matt Hardy elevation (Y)

Obviously intruiged by the developments with the Hurricane...I think Molly Holly is the first thing that jumped in my mind, but we'll see what you have up your sleeves.

My only problem is RVD being back much earlier than he should considering he's supposedly not going to be cleared to wrestle till 2006, but I guess he got cleared earlier in your world. <_<

    Looking forward to more.

  6. Some good news, Smallville beat out Everybody Hates Chris this week in the ratings, getting a 4.4 and still ranks number one in the time period for males 18-34.

And also, some good news in regards to the rumors of this being the last season.

Most importantly, Gough makes it clear that the current plan is for Season 5 not to be the show's final season. Here's what the article said:

"No, it's not the last season," Gough says adamantly. So how did that nasty rumor get started? Blame Canada. "The Canadian broadcaster of the show read something online, failed to call Warner Bros., which sells them the show, and put it on their marketing campaign," Gough says. "They have since sent me a formal letter of apology." Whew… crisis averted. Gough assures us that Smallville will be "on for at least six [more seasons] and hopefully seven."

  7. I didn't think it was too bad, the Lex/Braniac scenes were the highlight and those alone made the show worth watching. And the episode wasn't a complete throw away since we did get the progression of the Braniac/Clark/Lex stuff as well as we got to see the first signs of Braniac's evilness.

And next week, Lois as a stripper :wub:

  8. so is this bastard flying yet or wqhat

No Tights, No Flight (except for on special occasions and apparently one of those will be this season)

Loved the Junior Life Guard Association remark.... when that happened I was saying to myself "YES, THAT WAS AWESOME".

Brainiac? Did I miss something? Or is he the teacher? Was the teacher the guy who came out of the spaceship?

  9. I thought the episode was mediocre, but nothing too horrible. I don't know if I buy the whole kid getting his hands on a missle and trying to blow up smallville plotline, but I guess there's been crazier things. Have to agree about the Lionel/Jor-el scene, best part of the episode easily.

The episode with Flash was good last season, so hopefully they can duplicate that with Aquaman.

And all I can say is, it better not be Chloe who dies. Although I really don't want anyone to die :(

I was talking to this girl on the phone during the episode and she actually thought Clark was gonna die. :P

  10. I believe the thing about polar bears is that in the orientation video, when something is said about studying the zoology of the island. I couldn't remember exactly, but over at Insidepulse, one columnist said this.

Also, I'm sure it's no mistake that polar bears were used in the film when discussing the study of zoology. What's interesting is that we see two polar bears, and so far there are exactly two polar bears on the island that we know of (the one Sawyer shot in the pilot, and the one that attacked Walt). Perhaps the polar bears were planted there by those running the experiment, and the entire island is some experimental, observational utopia. This could also explain the whispers the French lady hears (and Sayid had heard), which could either be the people running the experiment communicating with each other, or some sort of human intervention to see how the subjects react."
  11. Yeah, its another post season wash out for the Braves, but considering all their young players and injuries they've had, they can't consider it a complete bust since they possibly outdid themselves just by winning the division again. So yeah, nothing new with the Braves losing in the playoffs but it's something to build off of.
