  1. Dont entirely get your point here. Is your point that since SD1, which was made almost a decade ago, was average/not too good, then it's okay for Impact, a game being made in a day and age where there are huge advancements as far as games go, to be average/not too good as well? If it is, then wow. If not, then please explain the point of all that was. Thank you, as I am incredibly confused. I brought up Smackdown 1, so I guess that was a retort to that, and you were referring solely to Smackdown 1. As stated above, the game came out almost a decade, and 2 generations of systems ago. I wasn't trying to say it was better then Impact will be, the point I'm making is, as you said, Smackdown 1, from the news we're receiving had more features then Impact will have. And this was a game that was a made years ago. I shouldn't even be able to make a comparison between the two, but I can, which as someone who has been hoping for a TNA game for a while, sucks. Full entrances? Guess what, Impact doesn't have them either. Ultimate X? MW above said the different game types TLC, HIAC etc, were pretty much regular matches with added features, like ladders, or a table. The same which can be said for UX, as it seems to just be a match, with some ropes. What makes it worse, is it's the only other available match type. Even if all the match types in Smackdown played the same gameplay wise, at least, Cage/HIAC/Ladder/Table, all appear, to be different. And while you may only like to play 5 minute matches, using 8 moves and 1 weapon, not everyone does. I've personally had 20 Extreme Rules matches, where I just went through the catalog of weapon moves on my opponent. And I actually don't feel like turning this into a rant, so I'll shorten it up. You continued on the comparison with Smackdown 1, essentially saying it was ok for the TNA game to be as it is, because like Smackdown, it's the first try. Well I'm saying it's not. First try or not, they shouldn't have to deal with the same faults as Smackdown 1 because they have 8 or 9 years of Smackdown to use as a reference, and say "Hey, we shouldn't do that, or we should do this" but it looks like they didn't. There is no excuse for there to only be 1 weapon, in an Xbox 360/PS3 wrestling game.
  2. Think of it like this. Halo 3 took what, 3 years to make when they had a HUGE budget and they already had a base game to use. TNA iMPACT! had much less budget, a bit less time and no previous game to use as a base. And to me, they made one hell of a game. Yes it has it's downs but it is still a good first game. It is by the look of it much better than SVR08 at least (that game was HORRIBLE in my opinion). And no I am ont a TNA mark. I haven't watched TNA in like a month and I watch WWE all the time. (Though I may be a TNA game Mark ) Even Smackdown 1, for the Playstation, had more superstars, more moves, more weapons, backstage areas. I think you get my point. Should the game with it being the first in the series been on par with the Smackdown games (even if you think those suck too..) no, not really, but there were plenty of things they could have done to make it better, that they didn't. I mean, one weapon? 8 moves per person? Give me a break. Sure, they didn't have a previous game as a base to build off, but they did have years of SD as a reference. And should have known what the standard for wrestling games were. That said, I still want to play, But I'm definitely waiting to find it for less then 30. One last thing to say about this. Personally, I only use 1 weapon and 8 moves anyways. (usually the match is done before I get to the 8th move lol) And face it, yes SD1 had more features but it was a horrible game. Even for it's time. My point.

  4. Well those screenshots confirm Kevin Nash in the game. Although he's not in wrestling attire. And the CAW shots look eerily similar to the Wrestlemania 23 CAW. Which isn't a good thing.
  5. Yea, as someone who's spent countless hours just simply watching Parkour videos on Youtube and such, I was pretty excited when I heard there was gonna be a game that incorporated it. And while this still, looks, nice graphics wise, not being able to see yourself do the moves just sort of takes half the fun out of it. If there was a 3rd person/1st person option, that'd be fine, but in this generation of gaming, them not giving you that option is pretty ridiculous. At least they don't as far as I know.
  6. Alright, am I stupid or is auto-aim not a guaranteed hit? I just had a game that pissed me off. I'll stand there shooting someone (using auto-aim) in one case, it was a good 10 seconds before the guy decided to shoot me back, and yet somehow, his life bar didn't seem to go down at all. It went down about 1 bar every 5-7 shots. So I'm just like WTF? And yet somehow, I was constantly getting killed in one. Now surely everyone in the room wasn't getting nothing but headshots? It just pisses me off when I have a rifle, and I'm battling someone with a pistol and they somehow kill me.
  7. Can't you turn that option off at the bottom when creating it?
  8. Argh! My connection's acting stupid, it keeps logging me on and off of Xbox Live all of sudden.
  9. I haven't played with EWB folks since holing up in the Burgershot. So I'm down.
  10. It's just a slight remix of the Impact entrance theme. Then it turns into a loop of Abyss' theme song.
  11. I'm too busy playing FM to slap my penis on the keyboard to form paragraphs, but this is one of the major problems I have with IV. It shouldn't be simple to get 100% completion in this or any game, especially when the game basically shows you how to get half the shit. Yes...it should. Being able to 'beat the game' should not be unattainable. As that just takes the fun out of even trying, and makes it more annoying then anything. Example, Spider-man 3. There's the task of collecting tokens, which can even prove difficult with a map. But that's at least doable. But then there are also races, and other events, where the 'Gold' times are ridiculous, and needless to say there's no point in event trying for 100%. This obviously isn't the case here, and it's much better for it.
  12. It was simply an introduction to some of the stories from this summer. I don't really know what the hype behind it was, but I wasn't expecting that much more from it than that. So the stories are -Legion of Three Worlds -Batman R.I.P -Wonder Woman: Whom the Gods Forsake (Aka, the Manazons >_>) -Green Lantern: The Blackest Night - Prelude -Final Crisis: Revelations -Final Crisis And I have to say, I'm interested all but the Wonder Woman story. As I understand it the 3 worlds story is supposed to explain the different legions, which I sorely need a little clearing up on. Having not been a fan of the Legion until recently, I've read every issue of the most recent volume and the characters and histories are completely different from the ones that made an appearance in the Lightning Saga, and the recent Superman story. But this is supposed to explain about them all being from different worlds, etc. so I'm interested in reading that. I really can't wait for The Blackest Night, but that's not until next year.
  13. Meh, the first thing that came to my mind was a helicopter as well. Especially in this game where the helicopter is a big part of free mode.
  14. For me, I'd say in a sense yes, but for a completely different reason. I'm talking about Xbox Live achievements. There not that much of a hindrance since they're completely optional, but I just can't help but play for them, at the expense of having fun with a game. For example, whenever I look at my stack of games deciding what I should play, I'll think something similar too 'Should I play Lost Odyssey, that's fun...but, I still need to get that achievement on Skate, where I stand around for 3 hours..' So of course, instead of just playing Lost Odyssey and having some fun, I end up skating around in circles for 3 hours. Or even something less dramatic, Mass Effect. There's an achievement for beating the game on Hardcore difficulty. And while there are some that enjoy it, I'm just not a person that likes playing games on harder difficulties, because I just like to run through it, play it like a movie, and I don't enjoy the thought of possibly, dying/repeatedly having to do the levels over. But of course...I choose hardcore difficulty, and proceed to occasionally want to throw my controller through the television. So yea, in that regard, next gen's definitely changed my gaming experience. Although I'm trying to get out of that habit, and just play the game for the game. But damn there's something rewarding about seeing that little gray message pop up on the screen. >_<
  15. No. The history's sort of jumbled in my head right now so I can't remember if they had it in Rebirth, but I don't believe they do, and I believe it's explained why during the story.
  16. Well I think the two biggest recent stories in GL are first, Rebirth, which you might want to brush up on a little bit of stuff before reading it through wikipedia or something (Like Hal Jordan being the Spectre, etc.) and quite possibly the best DC story in the last year, the whole of the Sinestro Corps War. Which is the most recent story.
  17. Maybe a weird choice, but I think one of my favorites this time around is the Blista Compact. Seriously, it's the the Shogun in Saint's Row, where its small, compact, and has probably the best handling on the game, and once you're at full speed it's pretty damn fast. I like the Feltzer as well. Especially since I've recently turned off that damn annoying GPS system. It was pretty cool the first few times, but eventually she just talks to much. And has the tendency to be wrong. (Depending on how well you're driving obviously). Looks better with the top off.
  18. Seconded. That shit is hard. And they decide to put one checkpoint completely off track for no apparent reason. And I learned two things from playing last night. One, I happen to be pretty damn good at flying helicopters. And two, some, or one (couldn't tell) are complete racist. But it was pretty damn fun. Half hour police shootout at a Burgershot? Awesome.
  19. Triangle/Y near the ladders. I'm assuming the others are the same. And I have no idea what the social club is....joined it anyways though.
  20. Add me folks! Gamertag: ZhaneStyles Probably about to add a bunch of random people from here so I'll have more people for party mode.
  21. I personally don't really think it'd be worth it. But I think that about all special editions. You're paying more money, for what is essentially a pretty case? And unless you're one of those that puts their cases on display somewhere, that doesn't really matter. I had to go check to see what was in it. And "The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition is presented in a customized Grand Theft Auto metal safety deposit box. The box contains a GTA IV artbook, a CD soundtrack, a keychain, and a limited edition duffle bag." Don't really see the point of the artbook, you can find the art online. Don't know what the keychain looks like, but that's probably not that big of deal. CD might be nice, but I'm guessing it'll just be a few songs from the game, which you'll hear anyways. so yea, dont really see the point in paying more. A GTA duffel bag? Maybe...but how many times would you actually use it?
  22. Man, I wish my school had that... Yea, that's right, I'm clever. but really, I can't wait. I'm picking it up for the midnight launch as well. And I remember with Halo 3, even with a huge line, once they started selling, it only took a few short minutes to go throw. So it should be easy to just walk in/walk out. I can't wait!
  23. You probably could have correctly titled this...
