  1. Hendrix is great. By all accounts, he was a revolution... the list goes on and on of all the guitarists that were around during his rise to fame, who were all floored by him. His music may not be as polished as todays, and it may not really fit in any genre or whatever, but man, that guy could play. One quote that sticks out in my mind basically said that where you could hear a lot of the influences in guitarists at the time (like Clapton), Hendrix came out of nowhere with his own thing.
  2. Type O Negative has some awesome Dark/Humorous lyrics. Like this one, making fun of goth kids: Black no 1 She's got a date at midnight. With Nosferatu. Oh baby, Lilly Munster. Ain't got nothing on you. Well when I called her evil. She just laughed. And cast that spell on me. Boo Bitch Craft. Yeah you wanna go out 'cause it's raining and blowing. You can't go out 'cause your roots are showing. Dye em black. Black no. 1 Here's another song I like. I Don't Wanna Be Me I don't wanna be me anymore Ever throwing at his house Two glass houses, twenty stones Fourteen yellow, six are blue Could it be worse... quite doubtful Two steps forward, three steps back Without warning, heart attack He fell asleep in the snow Never woke up, died alone Please don't dress in black When you're at his wake Don't go there to mourn But to celebrate They also have the best name for a "Best of CD" ever: "Type O Negative - The Least Worst Of"
  3. Psychonauts! It's an awesome platform game.
  4. It's out for PC, Xbox and PS2: http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/922...p?q=psychonauts Basically it's a platform game, but instead of traditional "levels", you go inside people's minds. That leads to some messed up, and hilarious, situations.
  5. Bah, I realise I spelled the title wrong. Oh well. Anyways, I'm about 4-5 hours into the game, and I'm still loving it. The story is actually pretty cool, and so far there haven't been any levels that make me feel like they're just taking up space to make the game longer. There was even one level that made me laugh out loud, it came out of nowhere. I'm very impressed so far.
  6. I've been playing some NFL Street 2 lately, and I've been wondering... why hasn't EA made an NHL Street? I know Midway made an arcadey Hockey game, but it wasn't all that great. I want a game where you're playing road hockey with NHL guys. You could even put them on rollerblades... I remember this SNES game where you played on a rooftop with rollerblades, it was actually pretty fun. It gave it a different feel than a standard Hockey game. So... do you think NHL Street would work? I know that hockey games aren't big sellers like football games are, but EA would probably just scale back the production values to compensate, like they do with the NHL series *grumble*
  7. Alice in Chains. Best band ever. But barring that, have you heard much Sum 41? Their new album Chuck is actually some good rock stuff. I'm not a fan of their earlier punk-ish stuff though. Taking Back Sunday is my favorite emo-ish punk band, so if you like Fallout Boy, you may like them. I like Theory of a Deadman's new album, Gasoline. I hated their first album, but this one has some catchy tunes on it. Oh wow, I almost forgot Tornley, my favorite new rock band. Definately check them out.
  8. For some reason my game freezes every time when I try to practice in my second Superstar season. It just keeps loading and loading and loading, but never gets it done. This happened for me with MLB 2006 too... stupid old PS2.
  9. I used to play, but I got bored of it. Now I'm playing Project Rockstar.
  10. Does anyone else find it a little strange how you can alter the depth chart in superstar mode? If I wanted to, I could make my self the starting QB... that doesn't make sense to me.
  11. It doesn't, but EA Sports delayed it's release considerably to put it in. 2k5 had a restrictive budget system, and no doubt that will be back in NHL 2K6. ←
  12. I just played Psychonaughts for the first time, for about an hour and a half. Man, this game is platformy goodness. I usually hate platform games, but I was surprised at how much I like this one so far. It just has so much personality. All the characters have so much dialogue and such, that it's fun to just sit there and listen to them. It's like a cartoon that you can play. I'm not sure if the game can keep up this awesome pace, but so far, so good! Has anyone else played this?
  13. I think I have the training figured out. It doesn't matter if you're involved in the play at all... what you want to do is run one play at least 10 times, and have a high average score per play. So basically pick a running play that you can pick up yards with every time, and then you'll do okay. Sound right so far? They really don't explain much about it in game, as far as I can see.
  14. Anyone else counting the days until NHL 06 comes out? From what I read in PSM, the game seems pretty fun. They revamped the controls for the dual sticks, so I'm interested in that. Not to mention bringing back the old "star player" thing from NHL 94. It's just a shame that they apparently haven't upgraded the Dynasty mode that much. Compared to Madden's, NHL's Dynasty is sooo weak.
  15. Are you serious? Wario Ware has been done before, twice. Mario has been done before, 700 times. Pokemon has been done before. Ridge racer has been done before. And so on. ←
  16. Tom Morello is good, but moreso for his effect making skills. He has awesome delays and reverbs and such, but I haven't heard him go all out and balls to the walls shred. Guys like Satriani, Malmsteen, Vai and Petrucci are guitar gods. It's almost unfair to rate other, more mainstream guitarists with these guys. Check out any G3 stuff, it'll blow your mind. All that being said, my favorite guitar solo has to be Pearl Jam - Alive. The original one, not the remake. I love every second of it, it builds up so well.
  17. Are there any "must-have" games for the PSP? Most of what I've seen are just nice looking, watered down ports of PS2 games. I've heard wipeout is good, but other than that, I haven't seen anything too great. If there's one good thing that can be said about the DS, it's that it's innovative. Most of the games you can play on the DS are impossible to play anywhere else.
  18. Weird, I always heard the release date was the 8th. I guess it's actually the 9th? And you can disable precision passing in options, so it's not a huge deal in my book. I think it will be fun.
  19. Stupid Blockbuster didn't have it when I went to rent it today. I picked up NFL Street 2 instead... IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME :'(
