  1. If there's any positive from KD's standpoint - he has a $31.5 option for next year. When the option was included in the contract, it was assumed he would be hitting free agency - but it was insurance policy for exactly a situation like this. He can get paid for another year while gearing up for 2020. What I don't know is if there's an injury provision in the contract that could prevent the salary from counting against Golden State's cap. If it hits their cap they're in serious trouble.
  2. KD has reportedly torn his achilles. The Knicks remain utterly cursed.
  3. I'm reading he was shot in the back and out through the abdomen, so it's potentially far worse. Horrible. I hope Papi can come through the clutch one more time
  4. Kimbrel’s deal isn’t even a one year, try again next offseason type of thing. He signed for 3 years, $43 million.
  5. Tom Brady is trying to trademark "Tom Terrific". What a fuckhead.
  6. Taco Bell remains an occasional guilty pleasure for me. I'm down.
  7. Buckner was a great player who deserved to be known for more than that one play he didn't make in Shea Stadium. RIP
  8. Thing is, when you call Pats fans out on that they almost get defensive. “Nope, there’s real problems this time! Old QB, players suspended” etc I don’t even think they believe their own panic, they’re just actively trying to keep the reverse jinx going.
  9. Two months into the season, Syndergaard has given up 4 runs or more in 7 of 11 starts and has an ERA near 5. Feel like he’s on his way to becoming Matt Harvey 2.0
  10. Rajai Davis was called up today and took an Uber from Pennsylvania to Citi Field. Arrives in the 3rd inning. Hits a 3-run HR in the 8th. Baseball is wild.
  11. Arch Manning, son of the forgotten Manning brother (Cooper) will be playing football for Carson Newman next season, same high school team his dad and uncles played for. He got invited to a scrimmage with the team he’ll be playing for next year. And the eighth grader steps right in and tosses three TDs against the varsity team.
  12. Bucs release Gerald McCoy. Should have plenty of suitors.
  13. Jesus tittyfucking Christ. I’m probably going to one last game with my dad this week. But after that, I’m done. And I don’t mean done for this season. I mean done done. The franchise is terribly run and clearly cursed. There’s no reason to expect it to ever get better, so there’s no point in wasting my time anymore. I think there are few reasons you can justifiably bail on being a fan of a team - but everyone has a nonsense threshold and the Mets have far exceeded it in the last 12 or so years. I’d say I’ll find something else to do with my summers, but I love the game of baseball too much to go without it. So I guess I’m a free agent.
  14. A bunch of people are disappointed at a finale of a show they spent 8+ years investing in? You don't say!
  15. Socially, you’re probably better off coming out as a flat earth truther than admitting you’ve never seen an episode of Game of Thrones at this point.
  16. Just one day after Cano attempted to justify not legging out a groundout because there were already two outs (a claim that was not correct, there was one out so now he's admitting he wasn't paying attention)...today he doesn't even attempt to run to first on another double play. Probably going to get booed his first time at the plate tomorrow and he deserves it.
  17. The Mets are pathetic and their season is over.
  18. The Jets are trying to get Peyton Manning to be their new GM.
  19. I'd be down for that so long as there was a robust CAW feature. Then you'll end up with a Fire Pro type thing where you end up creating your own roster anyway.
  20. Amazing that every time the Warriors appear to be down for the count, the other team's star players completely shit the bed. What a coincidence.
