The whole idea of not yet anyway is one of my least favorite ideas of modern gaming. Of course I like that games can be fixed later, which if this were the N64 Era that couldn't happen, but I feel as if we some times use that to let a subpar product get a pass. If a game like God Of War or Even WWE 2k came out and sucked nobody would be letting them slide.

I actually do like the entrances being short, but seeing so many already do multiple playthroughs of the story mode makes me feel as if there's just not enough meat on the bone for me at least to justify the purchase. It's a bummer because there is market for more wrestling games. I think what we all actually want is a call back to All Stars not No Mercy.

Nope, I was definitely looking for more of a callback to No Mercy, not All Stars.

Playing through a bit now. One thing I will say is that I like how they allow for custom button mapping. Made Y run, A grapple, X punch, and B Kick on the switch controller and it feels a bit more fluid for me.

Powerhouse Hobbs is a BEAST. I steamrolled Miro in a couple minutes. The nostalgia of the control scheme is strong.

Thats basically what the crying is.  The adults who grew up with Mario are going to see it expecting some nostalgia hit and stuff "for them" and they are disappointed when...its a kids movie

I feel like there was plenty in there for us adults who grew up with these games. Did they just want the movie to be Mario going castle to castle trying to rescue Peach? (They even included a joke about that) Adult nerds are so hard to please, I’m glad they kept it a fun movie for kids. Children were standing and clapping when it was over, and even waited around for the end scenes. It was so cool to see.

  3. Took my son to see The Super Mario Bros. Movie. We had an absolute blast. I don’t know what all of the crying is about from the adults. It’s a children’s movie and they didn’t disrespect the source material at all. Lots of fun Easter eggs, the familiar music and characters. If you are a Mario fan you should definitely appreciate it.

Jason X is a shit movie, but it's a fun shit movie, especially if you were a fan of any 90's or early 00's Sci-Fi on television. It feels like a really out there episode of Andromeda without Kevin Sorbo.

That's probably what they should have done. Kevin Sorbo would have saved that movie.

Goes to Hell has some interesting ideas, unfortunately they aren't ideas that I find interesting for the Friday the 13th franchise.

The remake, while oft-criticized, is actually one of my favorites. I would have liked some explanation into how Jason is so intelligent, being that he stopped his standard learning very early in life and is likely neuro-divergent. Maybe that was something they would have explored in a sequel.

This franchise needs to get out of legal hell so that we can get a proper Predator/Prey style reboot. Give the characters to someone with reverence for them and a track record of delivering genuinely good films, and let them go crazy.

I think the reboot is probably the best film in the series. It tied all of the lore together coherently and cut much of the dumb/dull shit out of the earlier entries. He was a big, brutal hunter/trapper that had been hiding out in the woods for years.

  6. Just finished East Bound & Down Season 3. The fact that Kenny Powers thought that the only way to have a life with April and his son was to walk out during his big Major League return and then fake his own death in a spectacular car crash is fucking hilarious. Even more that they have April point out “you don’t think it would have been better if Toby and I had just joined you in the Majors in Texas?”

Of note, Adult Swim does those "look inside the episode" after every Rick & Morty episode and he hasn't been in any of them. That, uh, says a lot about his creative involvement.

I suppose on the other hand, Solar Opposites is probably done for.

Those poor people in the wall…

I'm setting up selling retro games and toys in my game store in the new year, I've been picking up a lot of N64's and handhelds, but bulk seems to be the problem for me - Anyone got any ideas where I can pick up items? I've been doing Facebook marketplace but lots of listings are scams (asking for cash app, of course!) and unfortunately we're out of season for car boots.

Untested units on eBay if you’re handy with repairs?

Yeah so the contract offers on this are all a bit shit. You can't change the amount you're offering as far as I can see and it doesn'tseem to matter what perks or card position you put on the contract, they'll accept it - which has led Rick Rude and Big John Studd to both sign 5 year deals to be enhancement talent in a 1991 WWF game.

EDIT: And you can literally make one match shows and suffer no penalties. I put on an episode of Prime Time Wrestling that was one 90 minute long match (Shawn Michaels v. Randy Savage) and it scored 80% and got popularity boosts for them both and the WWF.

If you are on discord, definitely bring these points up. The developer has been very active since launch in working things out that are brought up

Popularity not being broken down by region is going to make historical scenarios difficult to balance, I'd have thought, but if the game's focus is more on just running one of the larger promotions in a post-territory era, I suppose it would still work out okay.

Is that "wrestling skill" stat broken down into any smaller components under the dash, so to speak, or is that all there is? I can see the logic behind breaking out Entertainment and Wrestling Skill as the top-level stats, rather than having distinctions that are poorly described or hard to define ("Puroresu" being one that always annoyed me in TEW), but "Wrestling Skill" is surely even harder to quantify?

EDIT: I'm reading through the reviews on Steam now, and will likely end up giving this a go. What seems promising is that there are fairly regular updates and new features, which, if they carry on post-Early Access, could see shape up to be a more fleshed out game than it currently looks.

“Wrestling skill” seems to be all there is as an average of brawling, technical and flying (I think that was what someone said on how it was calculated when converting from TEW files, not 100% sure)

I agree that it would be better served broken down a bit more into those skills
