James Wan continues to just pump out shit that appeases the lifelong horror fan in me. I love how he wears the influences from his youth on his sleeve. Malignant was a massive surprise for me. All I knew about it was that it was Wan... we turned it on, and it's easily one of the more enjoyable rides I've taken in recent years.
The movie had me guessing right up to the point where it's revealed what is actually happening, the visuals were really fucking cool, and again... James Wan, guys.
I fucking hated that movie

The new Scream movie was really good. Definitely a worthy addition to the franchise, but I don't think it came anywhere near being as good as Scream 4. Granted, 4 is probably my favorite of the sequels... but given all the hype, I was hoping that 5 would improve upon it.
Again though, definitely good and worth watching. I just think 4 was better.
SpoilerThat legacy kill though 😭

Up to episode 4 of Peacemaker. Loving it. Never thought I’d enjoy a John Cena project so much.

Really didn’t care for Eternals. Bottom tier stuff.

FUCKING COWBOYS!!!! 😡
God, it’s so frustrating being a fan of this team. Just once in my lifetime, can we get another decent playoff run?

Just got around to watching Shang Chi. Loved it.

Episode 3

I really enjoyed Antlers for what it was.

Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos were staples in my household growing up. This sucks

I watched the first episode of the Book of Boba Fett today, and holy shit am I all in.
Yup, I posted this in another thread, but that first episode flew by and I was surprised when the credits rolled.

2022 already starting with a gut punch as Joe Gatto announced that he’s leaving Impractical Jokers. Cited an amicable split from his wife and wanting to dedicate his time to being the best co-parent he can be.
I can’t really picture the show without any of the four guys, but especially Joe as he seemed like the de-facto leader of them and the glue behind the scenes. Supposedly the other three will carry on making new episodes but I wouldn’t be surprised if the show doesn’t make it out of the year.
I can’t say I’m all that interested in that show without him ☹️

Wrong, he may have been a poor Peter but he was a far better Spider-Man than Toby was.
SpoilerEhhh… Toby IS Spider-Man to me. I don’t care how poorly they’ve aged.

The wife and I binged all of Hawkeye tonight. Great stuff. Disney is really killing it with making you care about the new batch of heroes going forward.

If my PS5 is anything to go by, moving a game back and forth to a plain ol' HDD takes a good bit of time, depending on the file size. I use an SSD for my Series S, and it's lighting quick. But buying an SSD is just about as expensive as buying the expansion card. I lucked out and my dad has a lot just lying around without shells.
It's not THAT big of a pain, only having 500ish gigs to play with. As long as you don't go nuts downloading everything on Gamepass or buying shit. I mean, yeah, it's gonna hurt if your son wants to play Forza or the Master Chief Collection, and those are well over 100gbs, and even DOOM 2016 is like 60+ GBs, but it's manageable.
Worth noting, though, that some X/S games are playable from an HDD/SSD - the Master Chief Collection, for example. It's got the X/S branding, but it loads up from the external harddrive. There's a list of X/S games on Reddit somewhere that you can store and play on an external drive. It's nothing ground breaking, just technically backwards compatible games that still have a few enhancements.
Ah, nice! The Series S was a hit with my son this morning. Fortnite and all of the Plants vs. Zombies games were instantly requested.

Such an epic film that managed to make me forget Charlie Cox was in it till I saw the credits.
Charlie Cox! Daredevil! In the MCU! The cheeky bastards Marvel are to have Daredevil show up in Spider-Man 3, releasing on the same day that a certain someone appears in the Hawkeye episode that day. Love that synergy.
I thought the way they handled everything was very well done, it was so amazing to see Molina, Dafoe, Fox etc all show up and knock it out the park. But it was such a cocktease for a Sinister Six setup. Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, Lizard, Sandman......why is there no sixth villain?! Kept waiting expecting someone else to show up.
I didn't expect them to introduce Garfield/Maguire the way they did but it was still awesome. I saw Thanos snap at the midnight release of Infinity War, I saw Cap catch Mjolnir opening night of Endgame, and still the biggest audience cheer I've ever witnessed was when Garfield jumped through the portal and took his mask off. Bizarre.
Really liked how Holland matured during this, his Spidey has always been a bit selfish, a bit of a dick so for him to grow up a bit was nice. Andrew Garfeld really stole the show though, I've saw all the Spidey films before and his own series was underwhelming but I kinda loved his Spidey in this the best? His personality seemed the most spot on and his moment catching MJ was really well done, without overdoing it.
Doctor Strange 2 looks really good too. I thought he was being really weirdly a huge asshole in this but eh. Enjoyed the teases of Ned with the sling ring and the cape at the end, hopefully him and MJ aren't gone for good.
Such a shame seeing how excited JHS was about Venom being in the MCU, given how brief his stay was >_>
SpoilerGarfield got a small applause in the theatre I was in. When McGuire showed up it was a standing ovation. I love that shit at the theater.

My son really wants a new gen X-Box this year, and all that’s available is the Series S. Might have to stop being so stubborn and buy an all digital console against my better judgment.
Those storage expansion cards are crazy priced though. How is everyone dealing with the limited storage, especially since you can’t play the Series S games from an external SSD or HDD? Is it a pain to store X/S enhanced games on an HDD and have to move them to the main memory to play?

I didn't like it. I loved the 2018 film, but somewhere during the middle of the movie it just lost me. I do think there's a good chance that when I watch it again on my own, I'll probably enjoy it more.
Watching it again, I do see the criticism and some of it is quite valid. It’s still a horror movie full of brutal kills which always satisfies me

Walmart had restocks earlier but they were mostly gone within minutes and then easily available to purchase from third-party sellers from the bargain price of $929.00.
Apparently they’re going to have more on Wednesday but I don’t even see the point in getting in on it to be honest.
Yeah, no one is doing a damn thing about the scalping and reselling for double the amounts and it’s sickening. Every time a restock comes in scalpers buy them up and want a grand.

Had a Series X in the cart on four different occasions last night on the Microsoft site. Kept getting an out of stock message after finalising the order.
I can’t even describe how bummed this shit makes me. The fact that the Series X is so damn hard to get has turned me off on this gen. That and the fact that the Series S is everywhere I look now, like they clearly want me locked into a digital only console which isn’t happening.

It Follows (Peacock) and Hereditary (Hulu) are must watches.

I enjoyed Halloween Kills. Not as good as the 2018 remake, but I can’t fathom why the critical reviews act as if it’s awful.

It was the first game my son played with me, has forgiving controls, and my son loved it. He actually cried when we completed the game.
The Kirby game for switch may also be a good shout.
