  1. On a somewhat related note, the Cleveland Show was pretty awful. I mean I'm someone who thinks Family is pretty hit and miss anyway but I do definitely like it at its best but yeah...the Cleveland Show was pretty damned awful.

You know people shat on the Titans trailer when the official DC youtube page pulled the trailer. 🙄

But yeah, it doesn't look good. They basically grabbed a bunch of characters, condensed everything to their base properties and then completely misunderstood everything what drives those characters. "Oh Dick Grayson stopped working with Batman, he clearly must hate Bruce and be all about murderous justice now!".

It's just so bad and trying too hard at being raw and edgy. A snyder style series, but somehow worse than Snyder's own work.

C'mon now, you know that as soon as those horrible people release the Snyder cut of Justice League and his full genius vision for the DC Universe is fully realised, that everyone will agree that they are the best superhero movies ever!  :shifty:

  3. I think i was part of a fantasy comp with you guys last season but I took some time off EWB during it and didnt play for a few months and somehow didn't move from 5th despite this.

I ended up finishing 7th after I came back and started taking it seriously again  but I was honestly thinking at first that the rest of you must have given up when nobody had passed me in that time. :shifty:

  4. I really want to buy Rimworld at some point but I fear the curse of the lets play/streamer.

What do I mean? Well it'd be the 3rd time I'll have bought a game via being introduced by either lets play videos or live streamers and I found both of those other 2 games way more fun to watch than actually play myself after I'd bought and played them for a while.

  5. For me I'm a little wary of a future where the only option is multiple streaming services. Even putting aside the problems inherent with Australian internet, I like too many damn sports and if we added up every streaming service I'd need to subscribe to (plus any entertainment related streaming services I might theoretically need as well) I'll probably end up paying more a month than I would for one pay tv subscription which at one point, not so long ago, got me pretty much everything i needed in one convenient location.

Granted not anymore, because Optus got the rights to live Premier League from Foxtel and I'm barely able to see live PL these days because of that.

    I'm getting totally mixed up.

    It's been a long day.

I meant Austrian. On both occasions.

If you were a history teacher I'd hate to be there when it got to be time for you to talk about the Australian-Hungary Empire. :shifty:

'DON'T BE LIKE LIVERPOOL!' – MAN UTD MUST BE PATIENT WITH MOURINHO, SAYS BOSNICH

The club's former goalkeeper is confident the current manager can bring the glory days back to Old Trafford if he is given time.

Manchester United have been urged to show patience with Jose Mourinho by Mark Bosnich, with the club's former goalkeeper telling the Red Devils not to be drawn into regular changes like rivals Liverpool.

In his second season in charge at Old Trafford, Mourinho failed to deliver a trophy, but United finished second behind record-breaking rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.

That came a campaign after Mourinho led United to a Europa League and EFL Cup double.

Bosnich, who had two spells at United, says the Portuguese tactician needs more time and the club should avoid following Liverpool's lead, the Merseyside giants having made numerous changes in their bid to win a first league title since 1990.

"Just stand by him [Mourinho]. Give him the opportunity, he is second against a team in Man City who can afford anyone and get anything," he told Omnisport and Goal. "Sometimes, even after such dominance, you have got to be patient. You don't want to fall in a situation like Liverpool, after all those years of dominance and then all of a sudden you want to chop and change."

The former Premier League winner goes on to say.

"People can say what they want. In modern-day football, after we saw the experience with Barcelona, that started with Pep Guardiola, out of something good can come something bad, and vice-versa. But, after that, just like after the Leicester thing with chairman saying 'well why can’t we do that', we saw a lot of people say 'why can’t we play like that?' So, I think a lot of teams suffer for the comparison, that’s one of the greatest club sides that anyone has ever seen playing in a way that no one has ever seen before."

Bosnich recalled similar impatience at United under the great Sir Alex Ferguson, who led the club to 13 league titles in 27 years. The former Australia international believes Ferguson's tale is a reminder that managers need backing.

"What everyone has got to realise is that not last season but the season before, they won three trophies [United also won the Community Shield]. That is an amazing achievement no matter where you are at,"

Bosnich further said of Mourinho's United.

"This season? Okay, no trophies but far more points than last season and in second place. It takes time. People have short memories. I was at Manchester United in 1990, I think Fergie had only been there for four years, there was a game against Crystal Palace in the season that they won the FA Cup. Half the crowd sat down because he left Mark Hughes on the bench. They were calling for 'Fergie out'. He went onto win the FA Cup, ironically against Crystal Palace that year. The rest, as they say, is history."

    I'm bored at work. <_<

  8. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if we'd have given Giggs the job at United whenever that came up, as it did a few times after Fergie retired.

It always mystified me how he always seemed to be a better option than anyone else in the world for some fans.

I don't imagine it would have worked out as well as some thought.

I'm sure they are. Everyone else is.

I mean, apparently this weekend they're just doing physio checks and actual pre-season training only starts tomorrow, hence potentially no involvement with Conte, but...yeah. It's a fucking nonsense.

And if somehow we do end up sticking with Conte (although I'm not sure that's tenable from all that I read), someone would have to explain why our transfer dealings are also non-existent right now.

Giving Jose a 3rd go almost doesn't sound too terrible now I bet. :shifty:

  10. I have a sci-fi/comic book friend and I've found it interesting how his opinions on things are pretty much the polar opposite of EWB.

-The Nolan Batman trilogy is bad, tries too hard to be serious and isn't comic booky enough.

-Star Trek Discovery is a bad show and not true Star Trek.

So I fully expected him to think Last Jedi was bad and he thinks it's the best Star Wars movie since Empire.

I guess you can never tell who'll like what.
