Oh I agree, because in this case Yahoo ranks a guy with 700fpts last season at 62 while a dude with 1290fpts last season is ranked 204. I'm not saying its a bad pick, maybe by the end of the year I'll look a proper ass, but... Which is fine but fantasy points wise, Edler is ranked behind Burns, Hedman, Jones, Doughty, and Josi, ahead of Subban, Ghostbear, etc. Burns and Jones are definitely going to have more help on the blueline this year than last so I expect them to stay the same or go down. In Vancouver meanwhile, their biggest add to the defense is probably Olli Juolevi if he makes the team. So I expect their reliance on Edler to go up, and since he was 8th in fantasy points there's not much more up for him to go. I might have taken him too early but he's a high incident defensemen.

It's an interesting pick, but looking him up on Yahoo he's arguably not even the best Mikko still available. >_> Still, besides that guy who keeps taking Calgary dudes for whatever reason, I don't think there's been a bad pick.

There's no way with EWB's disperate timezones we could ever do a live draft, so. You have two outstanding picks you can make at any time, and then we'll all be up to date whenever Cauc pops up. List of everyone who is off the board is in the first post.

Threefold: 1. There should be a consequence to not paying attention. If you miss you twelve hour window, there should be a downside to that, because everyone else is making the effort to pop in and get their picks in on time. Saying " okay, well you didn't do your part, but here's the best available player anyway" is rewarding inactivity. 2. It's not fair for people who are making the time if there's no downside. "But they don't get the player they want" well yeah, but getting BPA is usually not much of a downgrade. 3. Personally, I'd rather choose a player slightly later than be stuck with Yahoo's arbitrary rankings. And like with Slogger, it's possible they pop in a few hours late or whatever and can still get the picks they wanted, instead of being stuck with BPA.
