  1. Same old Chelsea...Always Cheating... Same old Chelsea...Always Cheating... But disappointed with Arnesen. The guys been doing a great job for Spurs. A lot of the good signings we've made have been attributed to him, and the 'European' style of organising the club (Footballing Director, 1st Team Manager, Assistant) paid dividends when Santini bailed on us. Tottenham have the potential to go places FINALLY IMO, and now he wants to leave. Bugger!
  2. OK. I've read practically all of the EU Star Wars books, apart from the New Jedi Order ones and the prequel tie-ins. My Favourites include: Thrawn Trilogy- The closest we're likely to get to episodes 7-9. Star Destroyers, Space battles, lightsabers and the coolest baddies ever since Vader. Truce at Bakura- Starts the DAY after ROTJ. X-Wing series- Explores the lives of the star-fighter pilots of the new republic. Set in between 'Bakura' and the 'Thrawn' books. Inspired by the best-selling PC game. Features a lot of perifiral characters (Wedge Antillies, Akbar, Jansen, Hobbie.) also see the series of cool graphic novels. Darksaber-pretty cool book. Good story. I couldn't stand the Jedi Academy books. After the very serious style of writing that Timothy Zahn churns out, KJ Anderson's stories seemed a-bit like they were written for a 'young adult/ teen' audience. It's a shame as this is an important time in the Extended Universe series, Luke setting up the Jedi Academy that features in so many of the later stories. Definatly check out the Rogue Squadron series. The only Star Wars books that I have read more than about three times. And they don't even have the main characters in!
  3. Davies is off? WTF? He's our best Right Winger! I've always rated him as one of our better players, and aside from his period out with injury he's always served the club well. Hell I've had his name on my shirt for the last 3 seasons. Who's gonna play up the right next season? Marney is a possibility, but I don't think he's the finished article yet. All the Beckham rumours were tantalising but that ain't gonna happen. Hopefully Arnesen has has a coupla top quality dutch blokes lined up to replace him. And as for the FPLeague, well I'll accept any way into Europe next season. Hell it'd be a great laugh if we actually won it.
  4. Make sure you've got your driving stat up for starters. At the start if I recall right, there's a bit where all the racers drive off down a series of tight turns to get down a big hill. You can cut left after the first one and bypass the actual turns, jumping down the side of the hill. If you come out in front then you have a good lead. There is one other bit that's really tricky, where you run through a farm. It's really easy to run into a fence or building and get stuck. And dont think that you have to be going fast all the time, tight, neat turns are the order of the day, just accellerate hard for the long straights.
  5. That might be the official 'line' on the objects. If that's what they are then it's a weird way to model them in game. 'Shooting stars' are meteors burning as they fall through the athmosphere, most burn up well before the Earth's surface, though some do make it that far and impact. This object changed direction several times, and was not falling at all. It had the traits of something under powered flight, like the other aircraft in the game changing altitude and direction. It was also (in game terms) quite low in the in the athmosphere. If Rockstar wanted to include an object that looked like a shooting star from the ground then I imagine that the route they'de go would be to create a 'game object' in the upper athmosphere of the game map, in other words not have something flying 'round where the player could run across it in an aircraft.
  6. I know that there has been lots of 'debunking' of the various myths about GTA:SA for a while now. Thought that I'd throw my hat into the ring about the UFO sightings. I'd just finished 'vertical bird', the mission where you steal the 'Hydra' VTOL fighter (based on the Harrier Jump-Jet). I decided to go for a flight in my new military fighter. I took off, and was cruising over Mulholland on my way to the Grove when I saw a blue/white pulsing light, with a faint white trail following it. I thought it was a high flying passanger jet, with vapour trails coming off the wings, so I started to climb towards it-thinking I'd test the Hydra's weapons. I soon found out that I was closer than I'd thought, it wasn't a high flying jet, but a ball of light at about the same altitude as me. I followed it quite closely for a while, I couldn't get a target lock on it, so just fired my missiles in a big salvo, strafing the target from side to side. all the missiles detonated before getting anywhere near the UFO, and I was quite close to it at the time. I continued trailing it till it started to climb through cloud and I lost sight of it, when I emerged I could still see the trail stretching into the distance, but the UFO was gone. Anyone else had brushes with balls of light while flying? I don't have a link to my PC, or a digicam I'm afraid, so I can't provide pictures.

  8. I stole a Taxi and started doing some R3 missions for cash. Got up to about 50 drop offs and had to ditch the car. So I got out. Before entering the taxi I'd maxed out the muscle bar. While in the taxi the energy bar went down, and he started to lose muscle. When he got out, he was skinny as a rake. It was weird, him shrinking while doing the cab-jobs, guess it really took a lot out of him! I've also been laughing my ass off at some of 'Tommy Nightmare's links on the radio. Also the comercials are really off the wall. And is it just me, but did the voice actors get paid 'by-the-fuck.' I know Sam 'The-Motherfucking-Man' Jackson is in it but WOW, more swearing than season 1 of The Osbournes.
  9. This is actually a cool idea. 'The Official <insert username here> Appreciation thread.' It could be a regular thing. Lets all think of something NICE and POSITIVE to say about IWC children. I'll go first. I like IWC's... Laugh. BWA-HA-HA!
