This will give me a reason to drive to Salt Lake for a game. The grizzlies are cool and all, but I definitely want to cross an NHL game off my bucket list.

Same here. I'm pumped up for it.

They also announced that for the first year, the team won't have name or a logo and will just go by Utah.

  2. I heard that the press release announcing his ban was sponsored by DraftKings.

Crazy to see the Warriors knocked out yesterday and that it possibly could have been Klay's last game with them. Honestly, he needs to take a bench role, 15-20 minutes a game, and just become a spot shooter. Especially if he wants to be effective come playoff time.

  3. Yeah, I don't think the East is as foregone as a lot of people think it is. Heat, Bucks, or 76er could easily make a run for it. And the West will be such a bloodbath, that whoever comes out of the East could win the Finals.

Well we're 0-3 against them this season, including getting massacred by them at home last night, so let's say I'm not expecting much.

I've learned to not take what happens in the regular season too seriously when it comes to the playoffs, especially the last few years that the Jazz made them. I just hope that Rudy doesn't get played off the floor again, which I don't think will happen, since the Wolves actually have good defenders around him.

Crazy to see how close the Western Conference is at both the top, and the play-off/play-in places. It's making it very difficult to me to know who are going to knock out the Wolves in the first round. I'm going to assume it will be the Lakers.

Probably the most insane ending to a season we will ever see. Definitely rooting for the Wolves to come out of the West.

You're going into an unproven hockey market. You have to ice a competitive and exciting team from day one or we'll be talking about relocation again.

It's not totally unproven. The Grizzlies have averaged at least 5,000 fans for the last 10 years. Frozen Fury sells out every year. There is definitely a market for it. Ryan Smith, the will-be owner, wants to bring championships to Utah, no matter what sport, so I don't think he will be content with a losing team and will put forth the effort to win.

Getting that team out of Arizona has been long overdue. The latest twist in their arena saga was so embarrassing, playing in a tiny college arena.

I can't think of a market that got so many second chances to make it work.

Salt Lake City is a smaller media market and they'll be playing at the same time as the Jazz, so it'll be interesting to see how much staying power they have against the generally more popular basketball.

They have the advantage in SLC tho, of not having professional baseball or football to compete with. And the general consensus so far of people here in Utah has been one of excitement. I think as long as they can keep ticket prices down, especially the first few years, they'll do great.

🤣 I was confusing it with another one that I won't spoil just in case.

But the others being naive bit rings true. Mollie trusted him so much for no reason at all. You can make real friends during the game but it doesn't mean they aren't lying to you. It's the literal point. She even wanted to vote for him right at the end and still couldn't. Pissed me off.

    Spoiler

Oh, it pissed me and my wife off too. But, her being naive about Harry just plays into the game. Harry may not have ever said it, but it was clear to me, that they were keeping Mollie around just for that reason. He knew they would never vote her off and that she would trust him to the end. Like I said, he played it perfectly.

  9. Finished season 2 of the Traitors UK last night. Thoughts about the finale in spoilers.

    Spoiler

Absolutely heartbreaking way for it to end, but I called it a few episodes before hand and mapped out exactly how it was going to happen at the start of the finale. Harry played a perfect game. It's going to be hard to ever top it.

  10. I haven't watched the Australian version yet, but I'm pretty sure that the Traitors is the best reality show ever. We just finished the first season of the UK version, after watching the first two seasons of the US. Loved every second of it.

The season finale and reunion episode of The Traitors U.S. season 2 aired tonight. Before I post any spoilers, Alan did announce after the end of the reunion that there will be a season 3. 👍:w00t:

I was absolutely happy that CT and Trishelle won, but I wish they hadn't chosen to vote out MJ. No spoilers for the reunion, except MJ was still bitter about being voted out.

Also, Masked Singer season 11. I know a lot of people here either never watched it or have given up on it, but trust me when I say find the season premiere and watch the last performance by Book.

And Rita Ora replaced Nicole on the panel.

Just finished season 2 of Traitors. Thoughts below.

    Spoiler

As soon as they voted out Kate, I told my wife that they would vote out MJ. I did not see Trishelle trying to vote out CT, but knew that MJ wouldn't make it.

KAT is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus.

So that's this season gone, Ant can't exactly do much when he's being triple teamed on the perimeter.

So bummed for you guys. Was rooting for Gobert to go deep into the playoffs. Hopefully Naz Reid can fill in to at least take the edge off a little.

  13. Yeah, I do agree with all of that as well. I enjoyed the in season tournament, but think that they need to start it later. Start it a month into the season, and end it right before the all star break.

The dunk contest needs to be done with. Or, get rid of all props, helpers, etc. Just have straight dunks.

I find it funnier that KAT scored 50 and wasn't MVP. That's gotta be a first, right?

In other news, Jacque Vaughn was fired as Nets coach today.

The 3 point contest and Steph vs Sabrina were the only good parts of All Star Weekend.  In general the 3 point contest feels like the only thing players actually like to do and take somewhat seriously.

The skills contest is a lot of screwing about.  The problem with the dunk contest is there’s really nothing left, everything has been done.  So it’s a lot of “I’m gonna jump over this dude” or “I’m gonna wear an outfit” or whatever.  Jaylen Brown was getting booed for doing normal dunks without gimmicks and the judges were rewarding him for it.

The game itself was, as always, a parody of real basketball.  Tuned out after 5 minutes.  At least the Saturday stuff was meant to be fun, I feel much the same way about the All Star Game as I did about the Pro Bowl.  Skills contests are more fun than a fake game.

The stupid in-season tournament finals being in place of the All Star Game would be an improvement.

What was wrong with the in-season tournament? By all accounts, it was well received by the players, was fun to watch some competitive games early in the season, and seemed to be a success with the fans as well.

Kenny Smith's takeaway being that Sabrina should've shot from the WNBA line when she literally tied what all of the male shooters did in their first round sure was something.  Some guys need to have the mics taken away.

Maybe he wanted her to beat them all? Either way, it's an extremely dumb take and I'm glad he's getting taken to town for it.
