  1. Off the top of my head....

Chubby Checker did The Twist and Let's Twist Again

Buddy Holly did Peggy Sue and Peggy Sue Got Married

C.W. McCall did a Convoy sequel called `Round The World With The Rubber Duck

The Royal Guardsmen did at least two sequels to Snoopy vs. The Red Baron, including a Christmas one. Plus two more Snoopy Songs.

Charlie Daniels did a sequel to The Devil Went Down To Georgia called The Devil Comes Back To Georgia, with a few other artists.

Bobby "Boris" Pickett did a Monster Mash sequel called Monster Rap

Besides Ashes To Ashes, Major Tom is also mentioned in Hallo Spaceboy (mostly in the Pet Shop Boys re-mix, though) and Blackstar (go watch the music video). If songs by other artists count, then there's Major Tom (Coming Home) by Peter Schilling and Empty Glass by The Tea Party. Bowie himself hinted that Elton John's "Rocket Man" could be about Major Tom.

Looks like FSU is preparing to leave the ACC. Can't imagine Clemson isn't too far behind.

I've heard rumors that a third team (no word on who) might be leaving, as well.

Hope none of them attempt to join the SEC. With Texas and Oklahoma joining, the conference will be fine at that size. (Though I wouldn't complain if Alabama or Florida left.)

  3. Regarding Youtubers ripping off others and plaigarizing, does anyone know anything about a Youtuber named SSSniperwolf? I've never watched any of her videos, but I have heard there are a few critics out there that claim most of her videos are not original content and that she's harassed a critic or two.

  4. I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with Eccleston never playing the Doctor again under that circumstance. Nine is my least favorite of the NuWho era Doctors, and Eccleston comes off a bit full of himself by saying that.

(Nine is my least favorite due to how the character was written, not his performance.)

On the other hand, there are rumors of a possible Eighth Doctor spin-off, and I hope its true!

Eccleston was asked what would it take to being him back to Doctor Who, and I'd fully support this.

One of the things he said was that it would require RTD being fired. So, why was Eccleston silent about the possibility during the time that RTD wasn't around?

  6. The one thing I thought was brilliant about the Saw franchise?

    Spoiler

When it was eventually revealed in Saw 3D that Doctor Gordon had been assisting Jigsaw behind the scenes, having survived after the first movie.

Haven't seen X yet, but Spiral was great. XI is coming out next year, but I wonder if "Jigsaw" is going to be the one from Jigsaw, the one from Spiral, John (another prequel like X), Gordon, or someone else?

I'd rather be in the presence of a virtual Gene Simmons than the real one.

I'd rather not be in the prescence of Gene Simmons at all.

I read about it, and the first two things I thought of were a. What a joke/way to rip off fans down the road, and b. Most likely Gene's idea.

Their `shows' will probably just be a pre-recorded show with clips mentioning the city its in edited in, so that everyone watching is seeing the exact same show. Might as well just do a concert film. They must've paid ILM cheap or had it done as a rush job, because the avatars are kind of shitty. I've seen the video clip and a picture, and Paul's face doesn't look right.

On the other hand, this could lead to a way for artists who are injured or just too physically unable to perform on stage (old age, or illness that doesn't affect their voice or ability to play instruments) to still do shows: Sit somewhere comfortable in the back and peform whle the avatar does all the work.

(Sadly, and morbidly, this could also be a way to have shows with deceased musicians, like when they had that Tupac hologram at Coachella.)

Yeah maybe the dude who has thrown more picks than touchdowns since his pop Warner days would provide a spark.

"Spark" must've been code for "Piss off the rest of the team"......

I'm curious to see who is the starting 3B for the Jays next season. The free agent options are not very exciting. And I like Espinal - but not as an everyday starter.

If it wasn't for his age, I'd say take a flyer on Joey Votto, and convert him from 1st to 3rd. He actually is from Toronto, and I really don't see anyone signing him as a starter at 1st.

  10. I just want to know how Boyle ever got in the NFL to begin with. Its hard to believe he's been on 4 different teams, instead of asking people if they want fries with that, with the stats he had in college. Related to someone or has blackmail material?

Really do not see any incentive for Zack Wilson to play, unless its to possibly get other teams interested in him next season.

  11. I know I'm avoiding all College Football related posts on Facebook for a while. They're all mainly either about Colorado/Deion Sanders (fuck that), Florida State being left out, or Alabama (either whining that they're in, or claiming the other teams are afraid of them). One whack ass fool made a post about how all SEC fans hate Alabama, until its the playoffs and we all root for them. That's bullshit. I hate Alabama, period. But not as much as I hate Ohio State. I pulled for Alabama against Ohio State when they played for the Natty not only because my hatred for them is deeper, but because a team that only played 4 regular season games and still made the playoffs was absolute bullshit.

Someone mutilated a longhorn and left it outside of a OK State frathouse...

Beyond digusting. And if someone killed the longhorn just to do this, hopefully bad karma takes a bite out of them, if they're not identified and caught.

I'm waiting to see Saban and whiny Tide fans try to argue that Alabama should get a playoff spot after they play Georgia. Georgia should still be in even if Alabama wins, anyway. (Alabama won the National Championship in a year they lose to SEC Championship to Georgia.)

  13. As long as he doesn't go to the Braves or Yankees I'm fine. He's one of my favorite players, but if he goes to either, I hope he has a BA around .200, and an ERA around 7.80. (If he goes to the Giants, though, I hope those are his stats vs. the Dodgers.)

    Thoughts on the first special?

I thought it was... a mixed bag. I enjoyed the antagonist, and it was nice to see some of the old characters back (and Donna's fella might be the most chill guy ever). However, I thought the script was all over the place, and the resolution to one of the big plot points felt very cheap and throwaway, negating the the weight of the issue in an instant.

Pretty much concur with all of that.

I'm only slightly familiar with the DWM comics and I don't think they get too bad, I think the darkest it got would be Ground Zero where they killed Ace, but I'm pretty sure pre-teens was target audience, if they are into daleks I think the latest strip is coming out in a collection Liberation of the Daleks with the 14th, and there is two collections with all the classic dalek strips, and I think there is a cyberman one out or coming out.

Is that the colour version? I think that's a big thing of note between the IDW and Panini versions of classic Doctor Who comics, IDW colourised their releases, Panini reprints them as they were originally in black and white, the IDW ones would be more common in the States and Panini over here in the UK.

    Yes, its the color version.

    This is it: https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Doctor_Who_Classics_Volume_1

I bought my copy a little over 3 years ago, in New condition, for less than what it sells for in Used condition from Amazon and a few other places now. And it came out in 2008. Used bookstores are your friend for these kinds of things.
