  1. Apparently there's a Talking Heads tribute album out or coming out:

This is good, but I'm kind of worried about who is going to do Once In A Lifetime and Psycho KIller.....

  2. I was looking at various clothing on Amazon, and actually found a Tennessee kilt. I'm sure there are probably some for other college sports teams, but didn't come across any.

(And no, I'm not getting that kilt. If I was going to get one, it would be a utility kilt in Ancient Black Watch or something blue. Unfortunately, the tartans for the two different Scottish clans I've got ancestry from are rather ugly.)

Love the fan reaction to the Quinn hiring

Austin is really going to hate that one of the people that Dallas might be interviewing to replace Quinn is Ron Rivera 1.0. I certainly hate it. @Maxx what say you?

  4. I just hope they don't do another American version. There's been talk about it several times, and I do not like the idea. The 2008 version was awful.

On the other hand, I'd love it if they brought back Battle Dome. But that's not going to happen.

(Besides, I doubt they'd be able to get Terry Crews to host it as T-Money.....)

Everyone else is entitled to their opinion but I see no reason Bonds, Clemens, A-Rod, McGwire, etc. shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame based on their on the field performance.

Say what you will about using steroids, HGH and PEDs but you still have to go out there and make contact/get people out. Players in the 70s and 80s were taking all kinds of drugs/amphetamines and if you don't think those are PEDs, you're crazy. I didn't see those guys not getting votes. Plus, all of the (alleged) racists and criminals that are already in there - either remove those guys for the "character clause" or let the other guys in.

My issue is more that they won't admit they cheated than the actual cheating. A-Rod admitted he did, but there are some who think he either lied about when he did or how long.

And some are on the bubble about McGwire, who was one of my favorite players (so was Clemens), belonging in. If he was a DH, yes, but he was a 1st Baseman. He has..or had..a lot of hitting records, but he has only about 30 more career hits than strikeouts and wasn't exactly known for his defense. (Not me. I think he'd belong if not for the denial of cheating.)

  6. The finale of The Trust: A Game Of Greed.

    Spoiler

Happy with the ending, but I was kind of afraid Tolu was going to vote out Julie or Jake. Completely understand why she took the vault money, and under the circumstances I would have done the same thing. *Except* After the final voting was over, I would have come clean and explained why.

Glad Brian walked away with the most money. :) He's a good dude.

Also, Heidi and I have been watching Anthony Anderson (and Mama Doris!) on his new show, We Are Family. I was 3 for 3 on the latest episode (but didn't get the first one until the clues from singing with their relative), and 2 for 3 on the previous two. I'm beating Heidi, so far, but....

    Spoiler

She nailed Carnie Wilson being the celebrity relative immediately in the episode she was on. The only time I've been anywhere near that fast was Joel McHale.

  7. I recommend this one: Lehto's Law. He's an attorney who specializes in Consumer Protection and Lemon Laws, but covers cases around the country (and Canada, apparently, according to an episode I watched recently) that are sometimes weird lawsuits, sometimes weird arrests, and occasionally `WTF? How did they think they could get away with this?' cases.

  8. Whenever Hall of Fame nomination (or inductees) discussion starts, I always see people whining that Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Pete Rose belong in.

    No, they do not.

Bonds and Clemens are not only cheaters, but have continued to deny it. If they ever add a Cheaters wing to the Hall, they and others (A-Rod, McGwire) go in there. But not until they confess.

I think Pete Rose should go in. 5 years after he passes away.

(Then again, I also believe Shoeless Joe should go in, and Charles Comiskey should be kicked out....)

Jean and Scott always seemed like a forced pairing during their bigger moments. I don't think Cyclops really got all that interesting until well after Marvel moved on from that. Vicious dad version, leading with more ruthlessness despite the endgame being peace... that's the Scott Summers that I enjoy. Boyscout Cyclops was boring and one-dimensional.

The problem is that at one point they swerved from boy scout to asshole.

I actually dislike the whole Jean-Scott-Logan love triangle. Jean and Logan makes no sense.

This this, and so much more this. Best thing on television at the minute, hands down.

    Spoiler

Glad they decided to do just celebrities this season. The mix of celebrities and normal people the first season didn't really work for me. But why did they pick a former member of Parliament to be on an American show? If they had to get someone British, why not someone we've actually heard of?

The Faithful are idiots. But if they actually nail any of the Traitors, I kind of hope that Dan goes first. Especially after his conversation with Parvati in the latest episode.

The Traitors might be the one murdering people, but Alan is absolutely killing it as the host, just like he did the first season, I've been a fan of him for years. (Still not happy his show Instinct got cancelled, and that was in 2019.)

Can't wait for Kevin and Janelle to be gone. CT goes, I won't be happy.

Also, all caught up on The Trust. Just waiting for the finale.

    Spoiler

Glad Bryce is gone. He never should have been there. Even moreso glad that Jay is gone, but wish she had been voted out and left with nothing. Lindsey deserved to go for not bothering to defend herself AND being rude. Not happy that Winnie got voted out.

There is absolutely NO justice if Brian doesn't make it to the end. I won't be surprised if the guys join with Tolu and eliminate Julie after seeing the finale preview. Especially after she was busted for lying about voting to eliminate Winnie.

Calling it now, we get knocked out of the playoffs by a Belichick lead Falcons team.

I think Atlanta is pretty close, BB probably gets them to a 10-win playoff squad next year.

If Belichick isn't another Mike Shanahan, you might be correct.

Megadeth have Hangar 18 and Return to the Hangar

Isn't Return to the Hangar more or less just a do-over with a different beat and a couple of words changed, though?

Escape The Fate had The Guillotine, This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II), and The Aftermath (The Guillotine III). Ronnie Radke, who sang lead on the first song, did Guillotine IV (The Final Chapter) with his current band, Falling In Reverse.

I have all four songs, but have yet to actually listen to all 4 in a row.

Naw. The refs yes made several bad calls that cost us a 2 point conversion and handed the Bucs a TD instead of a FG, but the Eagles lost that game because they were by far the inferior team at each and every level of the game.

    24 minutes ago, Maxx said:

Ah yes the refs are the reason why the Eagles defense forgot how to tackle.

I never said the refs are why they lost, just that the game was affected by bad officiating.

And a few Steelers fans are whining about the officiating in their loss to the Bills. The Steelers just got outplayed.
