  1. I am going to fifth the excitement for 10 Years and 30 Seconds to Mars' video nominations. Although you know that 30 Seconds to Mars stands NO chance what-so-ever, since Red Hot Chili Peppers and Panic! are both up for video of the year.

I can see 10 Years winning one of the awards they are up for. Those awards seem to be the ones they just throw at someone so they can say that they gave that video a VMA. Anyone remember Johnny Cash's VMA?

Is it bad that I haven't heard the Christina Aguilera song that they have for VIDEO of theyear??

  2. Oh, I'm definately still going. So I am not going to auction on ebay. No one I know (except the guy I was to go with) likes Muse, and I even offered them to a few people for free today...I don't know what I am going to do if I can't even GIVE the one ticket away.

    My friends suck...

  3. So I bought these two tickets to see Muse on August 4th in Philly, but my friend who was supposed to be going with me just got a new job and can't get that day off. I paid 40 bucks for the tickets, which were originally 30 bucks, and am offering one for as low as 20 bucks, but I can't get anyone to go!

I am a big wimp and don't want to be in Philly by myself that late at night, not to mention I want to get some kind of money for these tickets.

    What should I do?!?

  4. Who cares if Bon Jovi or Metallica cut their hair?!? Also, anything involving Celine Dion should be number 1, IMO.

My question while watching this was, though, isn't this "40 Least Metal Moments" on VH-1 hosted by Carmen Electra a pretty bad Metal Moment? I personally think they should have put the show in the top 20...

  5. I know for a FACT that one of my favorites absolutely NO ONE AT ALL likes, GUARENTEED!

I loves me some Crazy Town. Not that stupid "Butterfly" song, tho I did like the 'extreme remix' they put out, but the rest of their first album is pretty good, and their second album "Darkhorse" is mindblowing...I actually had some people listen to it without saying who it was and got some "not bad" or "it's pretty good" remarks, until I told them who it was. "Oh, that 'Butterfly' band, I don't like them"...lousy people.

OTHER than them, here's my list of bands I like that I don't hear too many people mention:

12 Stones, American HIFI, Adema, Authority Zero, Hot Hot Heat, MEST, Powerman 5000, Smile Empty Soul, Sugarcult, SR71, Switched, The Distillers, Trapt, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Atomship, Crossfade, Kasabian, Millencolin, Ra, Senses Fail, Straylight Run, Submersed, the Arcade Fire, the Prom Kings, Thrice, VAUX, and Zox.

Also, there's 30 Seconds to Mars, but it seems everyone is getting into them now...

  6. No question, the best match of the night was Stevenson vs. Edwards. The group I was with was going crazy, and with how good that opening match was, it made the rest of the show seem as a little bit of a let down. The amount of blood that Edwards lost was fucking CRAZY!

The battle of the Josh's was a pretty good fight, too. I was getting a little pissed about how the announcers seemed to be pimping the shit out of Neer when Burkman was dominating him. And Neer's little throwing the arms out and saying "come on" was getting EXTREMELY annoying, especially since Burkman WOULD come on and Neer did NOTHING at all in retaliation.

Mir vs. Christison started out looking promising, but both guys got tired so quickly that it just started to go downhill. You can tell Mir is a shell of the man he was when he was champion. This match was competitive, but something about the slow motion pace, ESPECIALLY following after Stevenson vs. Edwards, just didn't really do it for me.

Ortiz vs. Shamrock ended exactly 12 seconds before I thought it would. I knew something like that would happen. While I knew that when Ortiz had Shamrock down in the corner, he had the match won, I think they MAY have stopped the match a little early. But, if you consider all things, stopping Ortiz before he nails 3 or 4 more elbows on Shamrock may be a good thing, so there are no injuries. Shamrock just wasn't blocking, and came out WAYYYY too quick at the opening leaving himself completely open for that finish. But 1:18?!? Ugh, horrible.

Arlovski vs. Sylvia put me to sleep, literally. Someone had to wake me up, because I fell asleep during the fourth round. Not the match I was expecting to see, and just overall a disappointing match.

Overall, a little disappointing, it was the first UFC PPV that any of the group of us had ever ordered, and only 2 of the 5 matches I would give a "good match" grade to. I hope this doesn't push us away from ever ordering a UFC PPV again, but knowing my friends, I fear it may be the first and last one we ever order...

  7. I can't stop listening to these. They are pretty much in the order of how much I am playing them right now.

    Muse "Supermassive Black Hole"

    Mest "Kiss Me, Kill Me"

Billy Talent "Devil in a Midnight Mass"

30 Seconds to Mars "The Kill"

    AFI "Miss Murder"

3 Days Grace "Animal I Have Become"

    Head Automatica "Graduation Day"

    Zox "Can't Look Down"

    Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Gold Lion"

  8. Saw the preview before seeing "The Da Vinci Code". The whole theater got quiet after it ended (everyone was talking after the previous preview, as well as the one after it). I, personally, thought it looked good. Nicolas Cage usually does alright movies, plus the Hispanic guy from "Crash" and Jay Hernandez are in it, and they both have had really strong performances in the movies I have seen them in.

Could be good, but I doubt I'll see it in theaters. It's like Brokeback Mountain, if it comes on free TV and there is nothing on, I might watch it to see what the big fuss is, but I am not going to spend any money watching it. Just not my type of movie.

  9. One that I absolutely HATED was Sugar Ray, they started out really good, IMO, one of my favorite bands. Then they put out "Fly" and it was ALL down hill from there...

Sum 41 started out more of a rock-rap type of thing, kind of, but they have gotten better since they started singing and just playing regular music.

That's all I can think of off hand, tho I may edit it with more.

  10. AFI

    Alexisonfire

    Armor For Sleep

    Billy Talent

    Bouncing Souls

    Bullet For My Valentine

    Every Time I Die

    From Autumn To Ashes

    From First To Last

    Hellogoodbye

    Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

    Less Than Jake

    The Living End

    Motion City Soundtrack

    Nofx

    Rise Against

    Saves The Day

    Senses Fail

    The Sounds

    Thursday

    Underoath

Damn, I think it's an awesome tour this year. Problem is, me and my friends can't decide whether to go see the show in Columbia, MD (only an hour and a half away from us) or the show in Pittsburgh, PA (almost 3 hours away, but it has AFI), so we are kind of in a pickle. I'm sure we'll come up with something soon...

  11. I don't listen to AS many female rock singers, though there are a bunch that I really like. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Halfcocked, Kittie, Evanescence, The Distillers, Aimee Allen, Hole, Garbage, and Lacuna Coil.

I think it's really more about the music itself rather than the vocals, but that might be just me. But, no problem with female singers.

I think the reason maybe people say they don't really like/know a lot of female fronted bands is because they are kind of rare...

  12. That sucks, I liked their live performance when I saw them 6 or 7 years ago. I can't remember exactly, it was during the Wake the Fuck Up Tour, but they were awesome, and I've been a big fan ever since...this sucks...I'm gonna go listen to their albums right now :(

  13. Is there a cheat code to unlock everything? The reason I ask is because my season modes lock up right at the start of "A Very Special Story". I have tried picking Christian, but then it locked up whenever I got to the Royal Rumble storyline. So I either need that fixed or cheat codes so I can just get around all that stuff :) thanks

  14. Agreed on the boobie comments, as they were everywhere. Felt bad for the girl who was with us...

It was gory, but nothing overboard. I think the whole "paramedics on call" thing is BS, as I don't recall flinching once.

You know a movie isn't too great when you end up thinking about a charactor's missing passport more than anything else in the movie.

  15. My list is of only singles, and they weren't necessarily released in 2005, but they were more popular this year. Due to the fact that I know a few of my top 10 were TECHNICALLY released as singles last year, I am going to put my top 15 in hopes of off-setting some of the "that song is too old to be on this list" stuff.

    15. Muse "Stockholm Syndrome"

    14. Crossfade "Colors"

    13. My Chemical Romance "Helena"

    12. The Bravery "An Honest Mistake"

    11. The Arcade Fire "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)"

    10. Avenged Sevenfold "Bat Country"

    9. Sum 41 "Pieces"

    8. Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc."

    7. The Used "All That I've Got"

    6. Slipknot "Vermilion"

    5. Taking Back Sunday "Set Phasers to Stun"

    4. The Hives "Two-Timing Touch and Broken Bones"

    3. Mudvayne "Happy?"

    2. A Perfect Circle "Passive"

    1. Muse "Hysteria"

  16. Exactly. The Linzs were so screwed by the battery failure. They're the only team that doesn't bore me shitless currently. Quick question, why does everyone hate the Florida Team? Never quite got that.

  17. I have XM Radio, I got it mainly because all the radio stations around my area suck, and I am tired of wasting money on CDs. I like it a lot, I usually flip between about 3 or 4 channels, but I definately recommend it if you are tired of CD prices and crappy radio stations.
