  1. That relay was absolutely insane, I was jumping up and down screaming! Absolutely incredible race!
  2. Lesnar getting subbed by Mir is kind of irrelevant though, considering Mir has the best jiu-jitsu in the heavyweight division aside from Big Nog. Herring has nowhere near the submission acumen that Frank Mir has. My main reason for picking Lesnar in this fight is Heath Herring's fight against Jake O'Brien. O'Brien took Herring down, and kept him there EASILY. Lesnar is a far more explosive, and powerful wrestler than O'Brien could ever even hope to be. I think Herring's one advantage would be if Lesnar for some reason chooses to stand and trade with him, which I can't imagine Lesnar would even really want to consider aside from maybe the first minute. As for Florian/Huerta, I think this is an easier fight than most people think. I think Florian handles Huerta pretty easily.
  3. Thales Leites vs. Dean Lister is off for Fight Night, instead, Leites will be fighting Goran Reljic at UFC 90. Reljic defeated Wilson Gouveia in his first fight in UFC, and will be dropping down to 185 for this fight.
  4. So it's looking like Montreal is gonna be the big year-end show this year, which appears to be getting Penn/GSP, and I would guess also Nogueira/Mir for the Heavyweight strap? If the new season wraps up by then, which I would imagine it would...
  5. Tyson Griffin/Sean Sherk is on for UFC 90. If Griffin wins, he should definitely get a title shot, aside from that hiccup against Frankie Edgar, he's been great, even if he doesn't finish opponents. I'm not sure who I like in this fight, but I'm leaning slightly towards Griffin at this point. Also, I'm extremely excited for Kampmann/Marquardt.
  6. On Middleweight Title contender talk still, look no further than Demian Maia. He should have a real good shot at actually providing some decent competition to Silva. And he's finally on the main card of a PPV at 87 against Jason MacDonald, so people will start to get to know him. Maybe one or two more high profile wins, and he'll probably be getting a title shot. He's an ADCC champion and probably has the best MMA-style jiu-jitsu and has, next to Okami, the best chance at beating Silva in my opinion. There will always be challengers for every title, it's just Anderson is so dominant, people say there's nobody to challenge him. By the time he fights Okami, which will probably be early next year, there will be plenty of other fighters ready for a title shot. Someone like Bisping, who probably only needs one more fight after Leben, provided he wins, someone like Thales Leites, etc. Whether they'll provide a challenge is pure speculation until the fight happens. It's easy to count out someone like Bisping before the fight takes place, but you never know what can happen. I think the best chance someone has at beating Anderson is getting a quick, flash submission like Chonan did, I don't think anybody's going to knock him out. That's why I like someone like Maia or Palhares, guys who are extremely proficient at BJJ and have been able to convert it successfully to MMA. And yes, I do know Anderson is a black belt.
  7. Well, potentially a rematch with Dan Henderson if UFC wants to go that route. And while these guys aren't immediate challengers, you've got Michael Bisping, Rousimar Palhares (Who is unfortunately matched up with Henderson for his next fight...), Demian Maia, and maybe even Martin Kampmann. Plus, I'd imagine the winner of Dean Lister/Thales Leites will be getting a title shot as well. So there's plenty of challengers, they just need to get some more wins and exposure. Hell maybe even Paulo Filho if WEC does indeed toss their higher weight classes. Of course, Silva has said he wouldn't fight Filho since they're friends, but you never know.
  8. I wanted Okami too. He probably has as good a chance at beating Silva as anybody right now, he's big and can smother Silva like Henderson did in the first round, but I think will eventually end up getting subbed if it stays on the ground too long... and of course if Okami wants to stand, well, that would be a big mistake. I hope we'll get one or two more big fights, since Cote is gonna get mauled. But I'm really excited for Alves/Sanchez, since it'll almost assuredly determine the next challenger for the Welterweight title.
  9. Silva/Cote has been scheduled as the main event for UFC 90 in Chicago, and the Alves/Sanchez fight was moved from 89 to 90 as well. Yushin Okami broke his hand in training, so Cote is getting a crack at Silva first.

  11. Yeah, that's the route I would expect the title picture to take. An Alvarez/Hansen rematch since Alvarez has already beaten him and didn't lose in the tournament, and then whoever wins will fight Aoki. Whichever the result of Alvarez/Hansen, a fight with Aoki would be compelling. Alvarez/Aoki for obvious reasons since it should have been the final, and even Hansen/Aoki since Aoki went a full 15 minutes with Uno earlier in the night, and was clearly fatigued when Hansen had an extremely easy time with Kultar Gill. Either way, the DREAM Lightweight title scene is definitely intriguing, because you still have JZ Cavalcante who lost to Aoki in the first round after all that controversy and he's injured at the moment. An Alvarez/JZ fight would be incredible. Well, I think Alvarez would really just match up well with any opponent. I can't wait to see what this guy can do in the future.
  12. You've pretty much hit Aoki on the head, all he really does is rely on his submissions to win fights. And it's worked so far for the most part. And as for letting Hansen back in, well he had won the replacement match earlier in the night in the case that a winning fighter couldn't continue, and that unfortunately happened to Alvarez. But injuries happen and it's happened before during a PRIDE Middleweight tournament I believe. One of the semi-final winners got injured, so somebody else came in and ended up winning the whole thing. I think we'll see an Alvarez/Hansen rematch immediately at DREAM 7, and then Aoki will fight the winner, maybe after getting another win or two, which will hopefully be Alvarez.
  13. Good, the production for their first CBS show was an absolute joke. Just like the V.P. said, it felt and looked like pro wrestling. And also regarding the next Sengoku show with Gomi, the card is an abomination. Frank Trigg's fight is the only one that is even slightly interesting. DREAM has World Victory Road beat in every facet.
  14. Well, his fight with Akiyama just happened, it wasn't an old fight or anything, so, he still kind of sucks. He's sort of shown improvement... but not much. He's super popular with the fans, but he's basically a jobber. He's okay standing up, but once it gets to the ground, he's clueless. Just watch his fight with Jason Miller, Miller just dominates him, and even has time to mug for the camera. It's awesome.
  15. Fedor is supposedly fighting Arlovski at the next Affliction show. Which is also supposedly going to be happening on October 11th at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. It was originally planned to happen in November sometime, but Fedor was petitioning for the next Affliction show to be moved up so he can fight in Japan on New Year's Eve.

    Tonight's episode was terrible.
  17. I'll just back up Maxx here, and say that when I downloaded the demo, before I purchased WMMA, I wasn't able to change the database from the default. It may have been changed with an update or something or other.
