Czech/Italy will be a brilliant game, I think Italy will get the top spot though. Kollar, while a great player, I don't think they'll miss him as much. They just need Baros back, because he performs great for the Czech's when it comes down to the big stage. And with the likes of Nedved and co, they've got enough experiance to easily get through without Kollar. As said, I think it'll come down to the Czech/Italy game. Maybe it could even come down to goal difference if the two end up level on points.

Oh man Italy - Brazil would be amazing in the second round. It would mean one of the big football countries will leave the World Cup, which is awesome. Brazil - Italy could easily be the final as well, nobody would find it odd.

Seriously, as Kraigy put it, what you do out where you play means little compared to most other big countries and what they have to go through. The fact that Mexico is the only team of note, and not a very special side at that, that you play regularly shows in the fact that the US are a poor side. Europe, South America and Africa all play more competitive football and have better teams than what ever is produced in North or Central America. There are a big list of teams that are better than the US that missed out this year.
