I always thought the races were very well-balanced in the first SC. That was one of the main reasons I used to play it so much. The I realized I utterly sucked. I've been hoping for this sequel for years. They better not screw it up.

I live in South Carolina, around four hours or so from Atlanta, and we have a fairly big hardcore/punk/metal scene here. Of course, by big, I mean there are a lot of bands. That doesn't mean they're any good. Most of the ones I've seen all sound the same. As for Atlanta specifically, I have no idea.

Man, this thread might get me flamed. It's hard to list the metal bands I like in order, but if I had to, it'd look something like this: 1. Marilyn Manson 2. Motley Crue 3. Guns N Roses

I watched the first half last night. I thought it was pretty good, but it was late so I went to bed. Timberlake did much better than I thought he would(and I'm actually a fan, as open as that leaves me to flaming around here), but then, he's not really playing a thuggish character like a lot of people I've talked to seem to think from commercials(I work in a video rental store), but he's more like a goofy lackey. The "group" Timberlake is in in the movie remind me of the white kids from Havoc, in that they're mostly just pretending to be "gangsta," when they're really just spoiled rich kids.

Peanut: "Mexican condiment." Jose Jalepeno: "I don't use them. And neither did your mother." I love that guy. The comedy central special I've seen is gold. When is the new one?

I have Reason, and I'm just wondering for anyone that has it, do you absolutely need a MIDI keyboard for melodies?

How do you load troops onto boats and transport them anywhere that isn't a port? Or is it possible to unload somewhere that doesn't have a port?

The entire Motley Crue show I saw in February of 2005. It was absolutely incredible, and they still sounded like it was 1989. Also, Red Hot Chili Peppers a few months ago, I got chills during the opening(mainly a jam session leading into a song), and the encore, which was "Give It Away." The entire crowd was going absolutely insane. And they finished with another long jam session. Before the encore, when the lights were all out, the drunk guy in front of me held up his lighter, and I got a badass picture out of it.

I reduced the resolution in the video options to its lowest, and the demo actually runs fairly smoothly now. I messed around with a game as Sicily last night for a while, but I can't afford to buy the game until I get paid on the 6th. Sicily was fairly difficult though. It has very little money.

I just bought this laptop last August, too. Oh well. I guess I will just have to live vicariously through reports from other people.

I just tried the demo with my 1.79 Ghz AMD Turion, 128 MB video card, and 1 GB RAM, and it runs, but is so slow I gave up on the screen after clicking Single Player. I guess the "1.9 Ghz" requirement isn't an overstatement.

I love me some Rome: Total War, but later in the game it gets boring, because all it is for me right now is build exact same kind of army, conquer stuff, repeat. Medieval II is all kinds of awesome, though.

Might as well ask this here instead of starting another thread. I've sunk about 5 hours into Oblivion so far, and I'm trying the Unfair Competition(I think that's what it's called) side quest, but I'm completely out of lockpicks. This means I can't get dude's door unlocked to continue the quest. Where can I find more lockpicks? I didn't think they'd be this difficult to find.

Personally, I think Microsoft is making a habit of putting low-quality hardware in their consoles. I've heard a lot of stories(including my own) about the original XBox DVD-ROM crapping out and not reading discs after anywhere from 2 months to 2 years of use. A LOT of stories. What does Microsoft do? If it's still under warranty, they "fix" it(sometimes). If it's not under warranty, they charge anywhere from $60-$100, then tell the person they have to ship it to a service center where they will "fix" it(sometimes). I have also heard stories of people doing this two or three times, and their XBox is never fixed. I always have been a Sony fan, and I don't see that changing. I only bought the XBox because it was relatively cheap and I wanted to play Sid Meier's Pirates(the NES version is far better, but I digress). I don't plan on buying a 360, and I do believe the PS3 will wipe the proverbial floor with the 360.

(For those who wonder, I've been on EWB for a hell of a long time now, I just don't post as much anymore) I've been trying desperately to get a band(I'm an ok vocalist), but I can't really find many musicians interested. I'm willing to perform just about anything, but as far as originals, I'm going for a gothic glam metal type of thing(think David Bowie, KISS, Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals album). I may have a guitarist and bassist, but drummers are hard to come by around here, or, at least drummers who aren't preppy assholes that only want to cover Marshall Tucker Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I haven't really found any musicians interested in what I'm going for. I want to be a rock star. EDIT: Any interested people in upstate South Carolina can feel free to contact me.
