  1. I've made many a bad game purchase, but these are two that happened recently.

The Darkness 2. Not a horrible game by any means, but it was just SO SHORT. Finished the main story in about six hours and I have no interest in the "other" stories. I'm glad it was on sale at the time, otherwise I would've felt completely ripped off (as opposed to only slightly ripped off)

Alpha Protocol. I had already heard about the game's negatives, but as long as the story could engage me long enough, I felt as if I'd be able to look past the game's shortcomings. Entered the first proper level, got spotted by the enemy, and haven't played it since. Again, it was a cheapy, but still.

  7. Malyn Varen

What kind of character build are you? If you're a Warrior then I would suggest packing a lot of healing potions before entering the star. Then be sure to fight the Dremora one at a time. IIRC, if you run too far ahead then his second one will attack you. You could also use Unrelenting Force to push the Dremora off the edge.

If you're a Mage then you should conjure up something (I summoned a Flame Atronach) to fight for you and back away if the Dremora get too close. You could use the Slow Time shout or Ice Form if you need to keep them at bay. Again, Unrelenting Force could also be of use here.

If you're quick enough you could always run past the Dremora and just kill Malyn Varen. The only problem with this tactic is that you need to survive an extra 15 or so seconds while Azura removes you from the star - which can be difficult with three Dremora on your ass. Again, if you're going to do this, pack lots of healing potions and use Unrelenting Force/Slow Time/Ice Form to keep them away.

  8. Mana either needs to be removed from the active workers list or have his brawl, speed, tech, stiffness & selling dropped to zero. He's a paraplegic now.

If he's removed entirely he could be added to staff as either a "trainer" (as he is the head trainer at a school he runs) or as an "owner" (as he also runs his own company). "Production" might also suit.

    This Mana?

If so, you mind giving a source?

    I know him personally.

There's no official internet source I can give (he wrestled his last match a lot earlier this year and quietly dropped off the radar afterwards).

You really only have my word on it. If my word isn't a good enough source that's fine. (In which case, he should at the very least have "booker" and "trainer" ticked - the promotion he runs (NHPW) can actually be found on the internet).

  9. Lydia has died for some of you?

For some reason the only time Lydia dies in my game is if I land the final blow (whether by accident or otherwise shifty.gif) - at which point I normally end up dying anyway so I have to reload.

Otherwise she remains in that "knocked down" state for a few moments before recovering.

Is my game glitching or are all of you secretly Lydia killers?

  10. I am surprised at the number of objects in some places that aren/t considered stealable - I'm talking about the number of places where it seems I can take half of a family's possessions and they don't give a shit about it. Even the first houses you get to in Riverwood have weird restrictions like you can take those boots behind the counter, but not this sword, etc.

I was surprised by this as well.

Apparently it has something to do with how much the owner of the house likes you + the value of the object you're stealing.

Considering how easy it is to steal anyway, I don't think it was necessary to add this feature - but hey, makes stuff easier to sell that's for sure.

  11. Anyone got any idea where some good shops are? The ones in Whiterun aren't great and I've got a lot of stuff I'd like to sell, mostly Necklaces and Rings and stuff that're worth a lot but no one wants.

Belethor's General Goods in Whiterun will buy your Necklaces and Rings (as well as pretty much everything else).

The shops won't stock anything above your level (special enchanted weapons/apparel not withstanding). So if you want to buy better stuff, you'll have to level up. (I think Silver, Dwarven, Elven and Orcish items become available somewhere around level 10)

I completely cleaned out Belethor's money. How long does it take him to get more gold in for me to sell him stuff?

It'll take around 48 in-game hours for him (or any vendor) to get their money back.

However, if you can't wait that long, you could always sell any unwanted weapons and armour at Warmaiden's, food and ingredients at any of the local food vendors (or Arcandia (or however you spell it)'s shop) and books/some misc items to the mage in Dragonsreach.

  13. So, just tried to sneak attack some random woman and it turns out she can't die - so now I have a 1000 bounty on my head in Falkreath (I killed a guard that aided her - then sprinted out of her house and out of town)

Won't be heading back there anytime soon.

Loving random dragon battles - even if the 3rd one took a few tries (spells didn't do much so I had to rush it with my mace - that and 15 or so healing potions later (plus some help from my Flame Atronach) and he went down - good stuff).
