I think I want to put money on the Pistons snapping the streak against the Celtics tomorrow. Just because it'd something I'd really love to see.

Is it bring your child to work day? That is the only way I see that happening.

Pretty sure even the Washington...Generals fancy they could beat the Pistons.

  2. It is the weirdest timeline with the Canucks being the best team in Canada.

Also seeing the triple stacked dumpster fires of Oily Maple Flames is a delight. Because everyone knows the Canucks have a dedication to finding new and creative ways to break their fans' hearts.

I'm sorry if you're looking at what happened in Brooklyn and think it has anything to do with Durant's leadership or lack thereof I don't know what to tell you.

    See also Thunder, OKC.

The East is much stronger. The West's best chance is if the Eastern teams batter one another.

God finally whatever that was is over and I can watch Next Level Chef!

I thought Kansas City had debuted a new name (and gimmick) on the biggest stage of their sport and appreciated the cultural insight to make such a monumental chage.

    (By dropping one letter.)

Oh God don't let that YouTube prat out of the house.

Ah ha ha. lolujo is great.

This post is positively emerald green from 9 to 5.

A 9to5'er clearly enviously of someone who found a way to make a living off playing a video game. 😁

Canada's group is very hard to rate. I could see Belgium imploding, getting 1 point. I could also see Belgium steamrolling the entire World Cup. See mostly the same for Croatia.

Canada seems like they could and will be a tricky out. They score a lot and play good defense which feels like enough to steal some points.

It is an interesting group. Not a vaunted Group of Death but a Collection of Mysteries.

How will Canada perform on the world stage under the brightest of spotlights? Does Belgium put things together for a deep run? Does Croatia recapture the magic of 4 years ago? Does Morocco upset the stories as they are a good but underappreciated side?

Like I said. As long as Canada scores, I will be happy. Anything beyond that is but unexpected blessings.

Phonzie is thankfully in following an injury scare, Jonathan David hopefully brings his goal scoring boots and it is fantastic to see 39 year old Atiba Hutchinson finally get to a World Cup after being Canada’s most consistent and caring player through 20 years of absolute steaming garbage.

I go into this tournament with no expectations but kudos to the CSA for revamping the way the game is approached in Canada and providing us with this grassroots, golden generation of players that’s fronted by a Canada loving refugee.

As one of the remnants who remember Mexico 86... I have but one dream for WC 2022...

For Canada to score a goal.

That is it. Everything will be bonuses after that.

I would have taken Hutchinson as a mentor if he could not play. No one deserves to be there more. Canada Soccer survived 2 decades (at least) of some of the worst management possible. It was undiluted incompetence. Atiba remained loyal to the team through it all.

I also suspect some Canadians to empress enough for moves to bigger clubs for larger sums. David & Buchanan almost certainly. Perhaps Johnston, Larin & Koné (if he plays.)

This time the team didn't have to fund raise to get enough money for travel to the World Cup... all the way to Mexico.

Good thing it wasn't in exotic footballing place like Spain(82) or Italy(90).

Not saying the decision to let Butler leave for Miami and keeping Tobias Harris and Ben Simmons was a bad decision at the time but it's certainly likely to be the reason the Sixers era goes title-less.

Was keeping Butler even an option? I am not an avid 76ers follower but I got the impression that Butler didn't want to share the court with players not up to his intensity level or be seen as anything other than the #1 selection.

But looking back, if they could have kept Butler and molded Embiid and the rest of the team around his workrate and competitive fire they either would have won a title OR ripped open a hole in the space-time continuum and travelled back to the early 90s and out bad boyed the Pistons.

I'm glad things have turned around in a month. The Leafs reddit was dreadful during that cold streak.

Also, what's going on with Vancouver? Weren't they supposed to be good?

I will let SDM go into (far) more detail but basically yes but also no.

Last year was supposed to be an abberration and with the team healthy were expected to be playoff possibilies. Alas, no one informed the team that scoring was required and they are on a goal-strike to protest... erm... something. I think.
