I rewatched the second Bayley/Asuka match with a friend recently, and it dawned on me that this part of the reason I love Asuka - she won with a series of kicks. None of those kicks was explicitly her "finisher", but everyone bought it as the finish.

Once I started getting familiar with the game, I'd notice when wrestlers would fall from exhaustion or not take as many hits to fall/etc.  Even though I wasn't playing, it heightened the tension because I knew a critical or a finish was more likely.

Contrast that to most main events where you see people exhausted, but then everyone seems to have that Fighting Spirit and there are fifty more finishers waiting for ya.

  2. Hold your horses on that, as he's owed $11m for the next two seasons and they're about to pay more than that for Trufant.  Can't imagine they are going to pay $25m+ for two cornerbacks (one getting up there in football years).

Plus Seattle's asking for a starter and a draft pick, which would make little sense since that would mean Atlanta likely sends one young player and one pick.

NL East is surprisingly deep. I flipped between Braves and Phils a lot for the last place team in that division.

The Phils are headed in the right direction, but I feel they're a year or two behind the Braves.  Their bullpen could be sneaky good, though I don't think there will be enough to get them anything other than long relief work.  I'm still not quite seeing what others are in Miami.  I'm more in line with what 'Deck predicted, though the ever-dying optimist in me hopes for a wild card berth.

  4. At the risk of being a homer, fifth in the NL East?  We got a long way to go, but there's enough raw talent to get to .500.  I'd say if we can keep around .500 by the Break, we've got a puncher's chance.  Plus there is no guarantee the Mets glass cannons make it an entire season.

FIfth?  Bah.  I rescind my Adrian Peterson prediction and double down on the Braves not finishing in last.  I'll buy someone a copy of The Show or OotP if they finish last, daggone it.

@thatshortguy could the Braves new ballpark be less inspired and generic?

All the money for that park went to two things:  pockets and food amenities.  Nothing else.

Note that the farthest point on from plate to fence is 400 in center.  This is going to be a hitter's park, which makes me laugh even harder about how fixated the Braves are about acquiring pitchers.
