It'll probably come down to Cloudy's pitching to determine if there's another upset in these here playoffs. If last night's Nats/Braves game is any indication, Washington is done playing around and Gio should do alright. Doesn't help that Srar left King Felix on the DL and will miss his start tonight.
Sadly, I think the luck's run out on the Team of Noobitude. Pollock & Scooter have been solid, but with Kemp as well as Peralta being day-to-day, that'll probably allow KM to take most of - if not all - of the batting categories.
My predictions:
Sweeties over Streakbreakers
Mustache over NoobitudeMustache over Sweeties
Mothers over Mustache in a Commish-in-the-Bank cash-in.

Eerily good timing, @Busch Strowman & @Tkasto.

Skyrim drops 11/17, because I obviously had too much money laying around.
Edit: GAWDAM, DOOM to the Switch.

I feel like I may be the only person in the world that didn't enjoy Zelda. But I was never a fan, not even back to the NES games. I tried this time though, really I did.
Full disclosure: I didn't bother with any Zelda games from Link's Awakening until now. I think what makes BotW so compelling is the same thing that will make Skyrim on the Switch compelling: an adventure where I can pick it up, play for 15 minutes, and put it down feeling like I've done something. Really, it speaks more to the system than the game per se.

I also didn't like how new enemies on a field will pop up first with their ears to show you where they'll be - and then the next turn they have an entire full range of motion. It doesn't sound so bad but the way the game works - when an enemy can pop in the other side of the map and then using the games systems, just entirely push themselves all the way up the field to me without any chance to counter really took away some of the whole 'there is strategy' aspect for me.
I was able to counteract that a bit by playing more offensively, but yeah, that got reaaaaalll annoying, real fast.
Which stinks, because the first two worlds of that game are just what I was wanting. Didn't mind the tech trees, didn't mind the paper-thin story (because, really, who came here for the plot?), even smirked at some of the inane humor. Plus, it could be done in bite-sized bits. Perfect!
Then....nope. Back to cooking disgusting food in BotW.
@The Chiksrara Special: I know the temptation to look up a guide is strong, but I've managed to resist thus far and feel better for it. I can pick it up, bonk a few things on the head, maaaaybe get to a shrine, and then put it down to go do more adulting. I may never finish the game, but I'll also constantly have a sense of wonder and intrigue about it. That outweighs any end result I could possibly attain from finding a walkthrough.

Got to a point in Mario + Rabbids that has made me decide it's going to be trade fodder for Odyssey or another title.
Later levels feature enemies that teleport, which effectively dissolves any strategy you go in with and feels cheap.

Nintendo website has it as holiday season of this year, so probably in the Nov./Dec. range.

Is there a nearby stadium where a team isn't playing? New Orleans or Atlanta possibly?
Ford Field has hosted a game for Minny/Giants after that crazy blizzard in Minnesota a few years back.
Atlanta's out because Atlanta United FC make their debut in Mercedes Benz Stadium the same day.

It sounds like a copout, but Breath of the Wild is what you want to make of it. There are some rough sides of town when you start out, but once you get the hang of things, it becomes an outstanding game to just pick up for a bit, goof around, and put back down. Alternately, there is nothing wrong with just going on a binge for hours on end.
Mario/Rabbids is not difficult in the slightest, though. It's a far less threatening X-Com.

I'm not saying just go ahead and hand Houston the AL, but Dallas & Justin are two that can give you a damn good chance to win two games of a series.

Much like Destiny, I sincerely love playing the game with friends and sincerely despise it with strangers or solo.

Mario and Rabbids is fantastic and hilarious. My daughters and I found two Rabbids in the mushroom kingdom playing an eternal game of king of the mountain. Even when we walked away they were still playing in the background.
IGN's review pointed out that some of the battles can get frustrating because it boots you back to the very beginning of multi-fight levels. That seems a bit off-putting to me initially.
Interesting spoiler from the Giant Bomb Quick Look:
They actually "swear" in this game. Someone says 'hell'!- 1

Can we take a moment to appreciate Paul Ellering getting that video game money this year?

I may need to rethink the games I prefer on the Switch. Sonic, Isaac, Meat Boy? All great games to putz around with while Short Gal shops.
Poly Bridge looks nerdily excellent. Kentucky Route Zero?!? Would never have thought it, but that may be a sneakily good addition.
Really looking forward to Stardew Valley & Ultimate Chicken Horse, though.

Looks like the Destiny 2 PC beta is the same as the console in regards to material. Still gonna give it a whirl since the using a controller on a FPS still irks me because I live in 2002.

Is anyone getting Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle? It looks as though it's going to be this year's surprise hit.
I'm pining for some more Switch goodness, so I may take a flier on that one as I have some credit. Sonic & Mario Odyssey are making me hesitant, though.

Was gifted a Steam card, so I took the plunge. Really hope I don't get overwhelmed.
Is it possible to offload some of the financial duties to the AI and focus more on your roster? One of my favorite things to do in Out of the Park is have the computer take care of the jobs I'm not too interested in and then micro-manage the hell out of the rest.

I downloaded Trials. I'm shit.
That game requires a high level of stubbornness. That said, it's a classic example of 'once you figure it out...'

Even though I was on the fence when it was first announced, Nidhogg 2 is well worth the coin. Soundtrack is rock solid and it actually improves on the first one; something that I did not think entirely possible.

At least when there are other events there it'll be open!
Like, uhhh, what else is gonna be there?
To be fair, it'll also host Atlanta United F.C. games and I'm sure countless other wastes of time. I'm sure Garth Brooks will be there at some point. He always seems to be lurking around these parts...

Someone could just walk up to me, tell me 'Your team is an idiot!', and they would be right on all counts.

Soon, you NASA-in-secret piece of fun. Soon.
Switch, 4 Joy-Cons, Breath of the Wild, Arms, Mario Kart, Snipperclips.
Short Gal heard the call and answered excellently.
Some drunken observations from the weekend:
1. The JoyCons are deceptively comfortable. We originally bought those stupid gimmick steering wheels for Mario Kart, realized we didn't need 'em. Motion controls are tight, yo.
2. Snipperclips is solid and sometimes mind-bending, but don't sleep on Death Squared for more multiplayer puzzling goodness.
3. Mario Kart is Mario Kart and there is not a damn thing wrong with that. Arms has proven to be the fighting game Short Gal excels at, though. I'm frustratingly proud
4. I have not cracked into Breath of the Wild yet because I fear that will be the exact moment I retire from all non-Zelda productivity.
May throw down on Rabbids & Mario Star In Nintendo's X-Com For The Squeamish, but my next purchase is almost certainly going to be Odyssey in October.
Damn, this thing is fun.

No, what the league will be on. I have no idea what Jim Neidhart has to do with this.
