The first couple of years of Champions League didn't have the 3rd place rule. Not sure when it started but it has been a while. Long enough to not start bitching about it now because you see your chances of winning it diminish.

Anyone know if Zagreb put any players on the field for the second half?
EDIT: They were there but it looked dodgy...

Looks good!
Infinity Guitars is such a great song but I haven't heard much more of them so I'll be checking this out when it gets released.

Well, it's a tough group for us but the last tournaments we did fairly well in the tough groups. Denmark is no walk over, games against Germany are always fun and Portugal is a tough one aswell. Really looking forward to it now.
Group A is a joke...

Really, I've been annoyingly screaming it to my friends for weeks now. Kind of surprised I was right cause usually I'm just way off.
I first noticed it when he picked up the waitress in the diner and she completely ignored Gellar. Started paying attention to it and noticed nobody except Travis ever interacted with him or even saw him.

Didn't occur to me but that would have been an awesome ending!

If you're implying someone from the farm family shoots him, that won't happen for two reasons...
1. They fixed his arm and gave him meds, so they know he wasn't bitten.
2. Given what's gone on so far, it's pretty much confirmed they're going the same route with these people as they did in the comics which means...
The people on Herschel's farm don't kill zombies
I agree T-Dog is most likely to die, but I don't think he's going down like that.
Comic Spoiler
Maybe he dies of an infection and this is the way they find out that the virus is already inside them, it's just waiting for them to die like in the comics

Last nights episode was pretty good altough
The fact that Nick shot Brother Sam was pretty obvious
Also really excited about the upcoming episodes
It looks like it's gonna be a fun couple of shows with his brother "guiding" him. I wonder what they will do with the new Trinity killings.

Anyone catch the second season premiere of Workaholics? I thought it was glorious! Adam might be my favourite character on TV right now (well tied with Mac).
-
That was a fun episode, I liked that the melody of the Wunterslash song was actually the same as one of our "Sinterklaas" songs, the same Sinterklaas Santa Claus is based off.
-
Yeah that's pretty horrible, they showed him on live tv after the fall and I'm still sick to my stomach about it. Seems like he fell 20 metres flat on his face, ugh. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.
-
Can anybody provide a source for that? Anne Hatheway as Catwoman is glorious, just glorious. Hope they portray her a sort of a neutral character

Started a game with Juventus, first season won the league and lost the cup final. A good season as I was only expected to secure European football trough the league.
The team consisted of quite alot of players on loan which returned so I had to get some new players.
Brought in:
Ibrahim Affelay from PSV on a free
Andrea Barzagli from Wolfsburg on a free
Aleksandar Dragović from Austria Wien on a free
Ruben Rochina from Barcelona B on a free
Luc Castaignos from Feyenoord on a free
Efrain Juarez from Celtic for 7,5 million
Edu Ramos from Malaga for 1,8 million
Fabian Quagliarella from Napoli for 17,5 million. Had him on loan last season and he finished first in the top goal scorers ranking
Sebastian Giovinco return from loan from Parma. Not a real new player but last season he played for Parma and snatched up both Italian Player and Best Young Player of the Season so thrilled to have him back.
Started the season well by defeating Sampdoria for the Super Cup (1-0) and AC Milan in the first league game (4-3) and Parma in the second (3-0)
Champions League draw put me in a group with Werder Bremen, Atletico Madrid and FC Sochaux so I got a pretty good chance of advancing.

Does anyone know any good sites that review CD's and music DVD's in the rock/indie/pop/alternative scene (but just general reviews is fine as well). It would be nice if it is updated at least once a week. It would help me a great deal!

Anyone knows what time (CET or GMT) Uruquay - Argentina will start, should be fun to catch that live!
Edit: Nevermind, it starts at midnight CET and a Dutch sportschannel is broadcasting live, huray!

So Cav lost his points and got penalised for riding in a straight line?! I saw it and it's a ridiculous decision. They all know EXACTLY how the road goes beforehand and Thor screwed up. He picked an awful line where the fence veered in on him. Bad decision on his part...Unless he PLAYED for it.....
Of course Cav isn't winning many friends among certain groups (French for a start) so those in charge of the Tour would happily uphold such a challenge.
Yeah that was ridiculous, I'm not a Cavendish fan by all means and I hope Hushovd takes home the green but there was nothing wrong with that sprint, very strange decision by the judges.
Anyway Contador has this one in the bag. They way he accelerated on the last climb today was amazing, Mentsjov fell trough yet again unfortunately, Nocentini did a damn good job only loosing a couple of minutes. It was the best stage of this tour yet, but then again that's not really saying anything.

Hmm a Dutch League thread, wonder how long it will last.
Anyway I don't like AZ as champions but unfortunately I suspect Koeman will lead them to another one. The main competition will once again be Twente, if they manage to get any good replacements for Arnautovic (Chelsea) and Elia (HSV). Also if the rumours are true that Martin Jol is going to Ajax then I think they might be able to play a part aswell. PSV won't be ready this year since they don't really have a good team or a good manager.
Are there any other good teams in the Netherlands...no.... can't think of any... there was this team in Rotterdam South once upon a time but I think they play to avoid relegation next year.
-
Yay a cycling thread, we really needed this
Anyway I'm cheering for:
Rabobank (Freire, Gesink, Mollema, Mentsjov, Nuyens, Posthuma)
Skil (van Hummel, Eltink, Hivert, bunch of Japanese riders)
Vacansoleil (Cooke, Hoogerland, Lowik
So yeah I'm guessing Contador will take the tour by a landslide, even if Astana is going bankrupt. Armstrong will just buy the team.
Also I'm really glad Armstrong is back, he might not be as good as he was but dammit he will always be one of my favorite riders.
Giro is going well at the moment. Di Luca is leading but I suspect either Mentsjov or Sastre to take the pink jersey home.

Loved the movie, my girlfriend was a bit bothered by me since I kept whispering "oh look that's *insert cameo appearance*"
But yeah the psychology between Victor and Jimmy was great, Liev Schreiber was great as Sabretooth as mentioned before in this thread. I recon that if you have some interest in the X-Men you should go see this movie!
-
Hah I just sold my original copy of this for XBOX for 15 euro's since it doesn't work properly on the 360, might just buy this one, it's such a great game!
-
Yeah either is fine with me. I won't mind skipping to the knock out stages.
2011/12 UEFA Europa League

It might not be a big deal to a lot of English or Spanish teams but for teams from countries like the Netherlands or Czech it's a godsend. The way international football is at the moment is that teams from those countries have a slim chance of being 1 or 2 in their CL group but it gives them a chance to continue in Europe and have a chance at international success. Ofcourse chances are this year is gonna end up with an all England semi final but oh well. Basel managed to beat United so who knows what might happen.
