  1. Yesterday me and my mate started a Manager Mode game with Shrewsbury in League Two and it was completely insane. League Two plays like League Two, the opponent gets the ball and they just pump it forward to the attack which resulted into extremely fast paced matches with shitty players. We ended up quitting the game though and taking over Coventry City because we hated how we could never use our best team two times in a row because of their shitty fitness staff and we didn't have any money to upgrade it much either. Do they really think that in League Two players are not capable of playing two matches in a row? First we thought it was their stamina but then we got Javi Garcia from Real Madrid on loan and even he was exhausted after one match. Fuckin' hate it. So now we started with Coventry City and used all our money to upgrade fitness staff. Had the most insane match ever though with Shrewsbury against Carlisle, it just went back and forth the entire time and ended with our keeper kicking the ball against someones back and going into the goal >.> in extra time...

Yeah that is a problem but yesterday I started a game with Brentford and after around ten matches I got enough money to crank the fitness staff up to 8 and now it's fine. You just have to sacrifice all your money in the beginning.

  2. It really annoys me when people use glitches in online games to win. I really don't understand people who do that.

So you got a perfect score because you win everything using a flaw in the design of the game, whoopdi fucking doo. You're only kidding yourself because anyone who plays you will get pissed off and never play you again because they think you are a dick (whether you are one or not)

Edit: happened to stumble upon this site a few days back and I think it sums it up nicely

In theory, games are made so that, through a series of increasingly difficult mental and/or reflexive challenges, a human being interacting with the game’s interface can learn how to effectively manipulate it, then use that knowledge to accomplish objectives laid out by the designers and trigger the release of endorphins in the brain. This effect is known as “fun,” and it can also be achieved through sexual stimulation or narcotics use, although those methods don’t feature nearly as many laser rifles.

At some point, a faction of gamers who actually un-ironically call themselves “hardcore” forgot all of that definition except the word “objectives,” and decided to treat video games like second jobs. They work at the game with grim, humorless dedication until they discover “the best way to win,” which is invariably to exploit a balance issue or design flaw, then they do that. Over and over and over again.

Their belief is that, by learning a rote mechanical action and having the endurance to repeat it without soiling themselves, they have become “skilled” at the game. And they are skilled; just like a robotic arm designed to punch a square out of a sheet of aluminum is skilled at that task. So yay for them!

  3. So the update is finally out so yay I can start a tournament while controlling 8 teams, altough the screen still says you can select 4 you can actually select 8, I tried.

I also downloaded the Brazilian commentary which is great fun just because of the "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL GOOOLLLLLL GOOOOLLLLL GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

I also played CGI13 who got lucky since I was on the attack all match and he managed to get two in on the counter. You just can't trust those sneaky Americans to just loose when they're supposed to :P

  4. So I tried uploading a video to ea sports world a couple of time but it never shows up on my page. When I'm on XBL it all goes fine and well and it says the video was succesfully uploaded. I even got the director in the making achievement but it just won't show up!

Anyone had this problem and might know how to fix it?

  5. It's just bloody annoying, the people who play that way aren't doing anything wrong, but it just takes all the fun out of it. I haven't had much people quit on me when they're down so lucky me and I had some good matches but it's generally with people who pick 3 star teams or less and there aren't many out there who are willing to do that.

Also someone at EA has a huge boner for English sides, Wolves as good as Sparta Prague is a joke. Sparta would rape them if they ever played against eachtother in real life.

  6. Ugh I'm done with online matches, here's the outline for 90% of the matches you have online

Kickoff - you attack - you attack - you attack - opposing goalkeeper makes godlike save - counter - one touch pass - one touch pass - trough ball - c. ronaldo/toni/henry/drogba runs away from your defense like a jamaican sprinter from a rock - goal and you're 0-1 down - you can do fuck all but you won't score and your defense will have the reaction time of a narcoleptic snail if you are not a 5* team.

I'll only play you guys online from now on and continue my Brentford Be-A-Pro career

    Ugh

  7. Just finished the main quest

Timmayy basically wrote what I wanted to write. I also choose the love option but only did it to get the dog back. My wife and kid can die for all I care. The stupid kid wandered off into a hobbe cave, I blame his mother for not raising him well.

Anyway I thought the ending was hilarious, standing in front of Lucien hearing him talk and then Reaver just shoots him. Who came up with that is either a genius or wanted to go home early, can't decide yet.

Now I'm gonna try and finish all the quests and find all the demon doors, statues etc.

My hero looks absolutely badass by the way. Black dreadlocks, scummy beard and black and leather tan clothes. Don't think I'll be putting this down for a while and when I do I'll start over with a female evil character who drinks alot, shags everything that moves and kills anyone who looks funny at her.

    ^_^

  8. Heh I see you're hunkering for a an ass whooping again huh :P

I think I'll be online later tonight, around 10 (GMT) but I might just be playing Fable but if you're online I'll fire up FIFA again

  9. I don't think either console got the edge on exclusives, PS3 got some real solid exclusives (Metal Gear, Resistance, WipeOut) but since I don't have a PS3 I'll give my XBOX list. which is just as solid.

    1. Halo 3

    2. Fable II

    3. Gears of War

    4. Forza Motorsport 2

    5. Mass Effect

    6. Dead Rising

    7. Blue Dragon

    8. Viva Pinata

    9. Ninja Gaiden II

    10. Castle Crashers

Edit: Replaced Kane & Lynch, what I thought to be exclusive, with Castle Crashers

  10. Hah I just defeated 3 Man Utd players in a row. First with Real Madrid, the guy/girl dominated the match but I got a lucky goal for a lead. Then he scored from the kickoff somehow and it went into overtime where Van Nistelrooy headed me to a win.

Second match was with AC Milan which was the best game out of the three. I won 3-2 after a beautiful free kick from Pirlo in the added time secured the win for me.

Last match, me as Liverpool squashed them 4-0 in a one sided match.

I gave up on picking lower league teams when they choose Man U or something. It frustrates me too much. If I set my team to Brentford and the other guy got Man U and doesn't change it, then I will.

  11. And once again a great victory for the mighty Brentford against the butchers of Leyton Orient. I think MDK keeps his finger on the sliding tackle button but luckily ther ref saw the clear penalty that decided the game.

Oh and Gary Smith > you

    Gary_Smith_Brentford_622804.jpg

  12. Anyone want to play some matches on Live?

I'm getting kinda sick of playing Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool all the time, I wanna play some fun match ups like Sparta Prague vs. Slavia Prague and Sporting vs. Benfica.

Just add me as a friend!

  13. I cant do the rainbow flick :(. I could do it on FIFA06, and score beautiful goals following it. But I can't even get it going. Manual shows the combo, but that doesnt work =\.

It depends on which player you use to do it. Some players aren't able to do it because of low ratings I guess.

Also make sure you time it right, you botch it when you flick the stick too fast or too slow.

  14. I think I'll pick this up rather then fifa this year. It sounds good and the videos look like this years installment could be great again.

One thing I miss in footie games these days is the occasional elbow or two feet tackle. Remember with fifa 98 where you just pressed one of the bumpers or something and you K.O.ed a player, took away so much frustration.

  15. Saw this today and I really loved it, it's like Nolan created a whole new batman universe, I personally think that if there is a sequel they could make any of the villains work in this universe. Like Poison Ivy could be a environmentalist gone crazy, Clayface could pretty much stay true to his origin in the comics being an actor that goes mad on the set of a horror movie and so on.

The way Nolan managed to incorporate the villains in the first two movies leaves a lot of possibilities open I think!

  16. Fuck Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my god that was amazing, beating Italy at their own game, can't remeber having such a good night while watching football in a long time!

Still, we got France and Romania next and that won't be easy. France got something to prove and Romania displayed that they can play defense really good.

Also it's nice to see that the polls of Guardian, Sun etc. showed the Brits will support us (ok we rigged them, but still :P)

    Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo 3-0

  17. 17. Luis Figo

    Style Run brick wall, run!

    Description

One of the few players to make the controversial switch from Barcelona to Real Madrid, Figo has always been admired by many. His technique was definitely above average but what sets him apart from the group is that Figo was strong, determined and never gave up. He was noticed at a young age by Sporting CP HE became an important player for the team and at only 23 he made a move to giants Barcelona. There Figo went on to win 2 league titles, one Copa Del Rey and a Cup Winners Cup. In 2000 Figo made the switch to Real Madrid and cemented their star packed squad ever more. After David Beckham came to Real Madrid Figo was told he could leave the club for free and he joined Inter. He still plays there and is looking towards taking a directorial role at the club once his contract expires.

    Video

Fact Prior to moving to Barcelona, Figo signed contracts at both Parma and Juventus resulting in a two year ban from all Italian matches. The deals were canceled and Figo went to Barcelona.

    16. Franco Baresi

    Teams AC Milan

    Style Sober Superior

    Description

In this day and age you don't see many footballers who stay loyal to their club. AC Milan seems to have it figured out. Their club icons rarely go anywhere else after they land at San Siro. Franco Baresi is one of those guys as he played for Milan for two decades. Baresi is the embodiment of AC Milan, a simple man doing his job day in day out without missing a beat. And doing it brilliantly I might add. In his career Baresi won three European Cups. three European Supercups, six Italian championships, four Italian Supercups and a FIFA World Cup. Baresi is currently involved in the youth academy of AC Milan.

FactBaresi's brother Giuseppe is a youth coach for AC Milan's arch rivals Internazionale.

  18. 19. Cristiano Ronaldo

Teams Sporting Clube de Portugal, Manchester United

    Style Glorious Monkey

    Description

Oh boy are we going to have discussion about this entry (please keep it civil guys). I'll just try to make you happy wheter you love him or hate him. First let's cater to the people who love him. He combines a velvet technique with insight, great passing and a good shot. Ronaldo is the product of the Sporting CP youth academy and the first one to profit of the ManU Sporting collaboration program. Following a 12.24 million pound transfer from Lisboa to Manchester, Ronaldo was awarded the legendary #7 shirt, worn by the likes of Best, Robson, Cantona and Beckham. This season seems to be his best season yet as he and Manchester are heading towards the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Now for the people who hate him. Cristiano Ronaldo combines a velvet technique with insight, great passing and a tendency to fall down over nothing. Ronaldo is that annoying guy who got Rooney a red card and screwed England over. Following a 12.24 million pound transfer from Lisboa to Manchester, Ronaldo was given the legendary #7 shirt, god knows why this spot monkey deserved that. This season he has been more annoying then ever, let's just hope he and Manchester are not heading towards the Premier League title and the Champions League.

    Video

Fact Ronaldo was named by his father after the former United States President, Ronald Reagan.

    18. Jari Litmanen

Teams Reipas, HJK Helsinki, MyPa, Ajax, Barcelona, Liverpool, FC Lahti, Hansa Rostock, Malmo FF, Fulham

    Style Man of Glass

    Description

Litmanen had his big breaktrough playing at Ajax between 1992 and 1999. He played in a team consisting of Seedorf, Davids, Kluivert, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Blind, Rijkaard and Overmars but still managed to become the most popular player of the squad. The Finnish midfielder was calm but deadly, he could give a pass so sharp it would cut the defence right open and he could shoot from every angle. After Ajax he went on to play for the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona but injuries prevented him from ever becoming a huge superstar there.

Litmanen has to be the single most unlucky player on this list. Causes of injuries include: falling down the stairs while carrying a glass of milk, getting a clip of a can of soda in his eye and most recently he got a ball to the back of his head just when he was ready to make his debut for Fulham.

    Video Litmanen wooohoooo

Fact In his career that already lasts 20 years, Litmanen only got one red card.

  19. I stole a car, and the bloke there didn't like it, so he grabbed onto the back door handle as I took off, and managed to hang on for about a hundred metres as I dragged him along.

Also, the physics of it when you get hit by a car is pretty damn cool.

Heh, that happened to me too, except I got some speed up to try and shake him off, then inadvertantly smashed him off a lampost.

Hehe yeah same thing here but replace lamp post with oncoming truck :D

Oh and the first thing I did online was cops 'n crooks. So the boss guy and two other guys were pinned down by cops who kept shooting them, so I quickly stole a car, made my way to them, they jumped into the car while a police car missed them by an inch. We drove off, cops on our tails and they were shooting at us, we were shooting at them but I managed to get us to the getaway boat and we made our way to safety.

That made me realize that this is just the best multiplayer game ever and I played online till early in the morning!
