I'm still on FM20 and long story short, I have managed to get Burton Albion promoted to the Premier League much too quickly. We're 19 games in and uh, we're a bit like Derby County when they reached the Prem. We've got two wins (cheers Norwich and Wolves!) and three draws, then lost the rest so we're sitting rock bottom and oh god this is going to be a long season. To escape the sinking ship I applied for the Southampton job while they're in the Championship. The Saints are 10th, massive underachieving when you consider their resources and gave me an interview. They said: "Can you reach the play-offs with a transfer budget of 120m?" To which I reacted like Fry in Futurama when he finds out he's a billionaire. Sadly, I didn't get the job

I can't really think of an FM that is the go-to as a lot of players just jump in at the most recent one. The thing with FM is that you reassign a lot of tasks or pointless clicks to staff members on your team so you don't need to get bogged down in training, press conferences etc, and can eventually find out these things as you go along. Zealand is a pretty good YouTube guy for FM stuff:

I finished watching The Bear and was a little disappointed after all the rave reviews. Performances were good but felt the storyline didn't go anywhere, and wasn't too convinced by it being set in apparently the most stressful sandwich shop in all of Chicago (that also has like 20 members of staff?) I will give the first few episodes of the next series a whirl as I am hopeful it does improve. Girlfriend is enjoying Marie Antoinette, which was written by one of the people who did The Favourite with Olivia Coleman. We're about halfway through, and seems a straightforward period drama tbh. I hope for a little more surrealism or farce as The Favourite had. I also expected the interpersonal relationships, factions and politics to be a bit more tense, and it's kinda faltered on that. Also about halfway through the first series of Search Party and I am liking it! Really funny and love how the characters interact with each other. I could do without one side character having some sort of mental breakdown in each episode though. Like, you can pinpoint the exact moment a cameo turns into someone yelling.

Well, the Grant move collapsed so his chances of game time have dramatically increased. But hey, we've also probably infuriated Whittaker after this window, the same one in which we shipped Michael Obafemi away because he had enough and refused to play. Fair to say, atmosphere isn't the best here.

Swansea are the only Championship club (who aren't under a transfer embargo) to not sign one first-team player this window. Great stuff.

The World Cup play-offs showed he still had moments of magic in him but I suppose it is time - a little surprised as I thought he could have hung on for another 18 months as a bit-part of the Euro qualifiers. Greatest Welsh player in history and surely up there as the greatest British player of all time. Gonna watch the Champions League bicycle kick on repeat later.
