  1. I can easily be convinced to this line of thought
  2. I still have the Raps in the playoffs, as well as Detroit, and either Orlando or Miami.Any other team in the east is just a super long shot I think.
  3. Hitman and Tekken Tag 2 interest me the most out of Septembers lineup. Tekken I'd probably only play with my friends to give us another fighter option. HItman might join the backlog of games I have saved that I need to make it through.

  12. Ring of Honor Ring of Honor was founded in 2002, by Rob Black and Rob Feinstein, as part of the budding American independent scene. For a time it seemed to be a beacon for the most talented members of the independent wrestling scene playing host to many of the more well known veterans and rising stars of the time. Unfortunately lack of financial backing caused bankruptcy in 2005. In a mad stroke of luck The NWA and it's board of directors bought out the promotion and renamed it NWAROH before reverting it back to ROH in 2007. Under the NWA banner the company was able to flourish rebounding from what seemed to be it's demise into becoming arguably the largest indy company in North America. Roster Adam Cole, Allison Wonderland, Arik Cannon, Billy Kidman, Brent Albright, Brodie Lee, Christopher Daniels, Colt Cabana, Conrad Kennedy III, Daizee Haze, Delirious, Doug WIlliams, El Generico, Hade Vansen, Harlem Bravado, Hunter Helmsley, James Gibson, Jay Briscoe, Jay Lethal, Jeff Hardy, Jesse Neal, KENTA, Kevin Steen, Kyle O'Reily, Lance Bavado, Lizzy Valentine, Low Ki, Mark Briscoe, Matt Sydal, Michael Elgin, Paul London, Petey Williams, Reid Flair, Richie Steamboat, Rocky Romero, Samoa Joe, Shelton Benjamin, TJ Perkins, Tony Santorelli, Truth Killings, Tyler Black Briscoes Bravado Brothers Lethal & Killings Dojo Bros: Cole & Steamboat Steenerico: Kevin Steen & El Generico Hunter Helmsley NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jay Lethal ROH Pure Championship Dojo Bro's NWA World Tag Team Champions
  13. Dynamic X Pro Wrestling A company began after a chance meeting between Jeff Jarrett and Dixie Carter. Both parties expressed an interest in getting their hands wet in running a wrestling company. Jarrett finally wanting to be at the head of the book after feeling undervalued in both WWF and WCW, Carter in simply wanting to be involved in the wrestling business. WIth a financial stipend granted by Ms. Carter's parents and their energy company the dream tey shared was able to become something of a reality. Aided by the fall of the once powerful World Wrestling Federation Dynamic X Pro Wrestling was able to carve itaelf a spot as the fourth largest wrestling promotion in the United States and one of the marquee promotions in the American indeendent scene. While some may question it's legitimacy as and independent promotion due to Dixies ties to the Panda Energy corproation there is no doubting the fact that DXP has become a place for stars on the the indy scene bot those who have fallen from loftier ositions in the wrestling world and those who ply their trade through their own merit. Roster ACH, Alexis Laree, Andy Simmonz, April Hunter, Austin Creed, Batista, Bobby Fish, Chris Kanyon, Cliff Compton, Delirious, Epiphany jones, Eric Angle, Eric Young, Frank Trigg, Giant Bernard, Heidenreich, Hunter Helmsley, Jeff Hardy, Jeff Jarrett, Mark Henry, Melissa Coates, Mercedes Martinez, Montel Vontavious Porter, Necro Butcher, Nick Dinsmore, Nikki Roxx, Nora Greenwald, ODB, Olivia O'Lovely, Phill Shatter, Rob Conway, Samoa Joe, Scott Steiner, The Hawaiin Lion, The Navajo Warrior, Titus O'Neill, Travis Tomko, Uhaa Nation, Wildcat Harris Big and Bad: Scott Steiner and Giant Bernard Nora and ODB The Tribe: The Navajo Warrior and The Hawaiian Lion w/ Olivia O'Lovely Freekstyle: ACH and Austin Creed Angle and Trigg Mark Henry DXP Heavyweight Austin Creed Absolute X-Class ODB and Nora Dynamic Tag Team
  14. World Wrestling eXcellence When Shane McMahon returned to the wrestling industry in 200, three years after the untimely and unexpected deaths of his family, he did so with the intentions of taking over his fathers former company. But after being screwed over by someone he thought would be a friend and mentor for him he decided to open his own promotion. Things didn't go exactly as planned as a commitment from Hulk Hogan soon tuned into a nightmare as Hogan buried the promotion before it's first event could take place calling it the most unprofessional thing he's ever seen. This event turned out to be a blessing in disguise, instead of taking Hogan's world for it the fans rallied around Shane, chastising and booing Hogan whenever possible. World Wrestling eXcellence soon launched and seemed to become an overnight phenomenon. Launching itself as a weekly ppv only event fans seemed to take to the promotion with no issue as the companies ppv numbers far exceeded expectations. Despite it's success the company struggled to maintain ground against WCW and the expanding ECW. Fortune would soon smile on WWX as Ted Turner no longer had the funds to maintain the slowly sinking ship that was WWF and Shane took this opportunity to strike jumping early at a bid to own the company's expansive video library. Despite the objections of Ted Turner himself Shane was slowly becoming owner of any former WWF possessions. This seemed to help bolster the perceived worth of the WWX and allowed McMahon access to some of WWF's talent. The late the year 2008 proved to be a year of good fortune as WWX had earned itself a national television deal with Spike TV and saw the awareness pf the company grow to a truly national level. Roster Ace Steel, Alicia Fox, Angelina Love, Antonio Castagnoli, Austin Aries, Big Show, Bison Smith, Charlie Haas, Chris Masters, Chris Sabin, Christy Hemme, CIMA, Colin Delaney, Daffney, Edge, Finlay, Gail Kim, Harry Smith, Hernandez, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Incognito, Jackie Gayda, James Storm, Johnny Devine, Johnny Swinger, Kenny King, Lita Magnus, Maria Kanellis, Mat Malibu, Matt Hardy, Matt Morgan, M-Dogg, Melina, Michelle C., Natala Neidhart, Nick Nemeth, Nitro Morrison, Phoenix, Rain, Roderick Strong, Russ Haas, Sedrick Strong, Shad Gaspard, Shawn Michaels, Taylor Wilde, Ted DiBiase Jr., The Rock, Undertaker Degenerates: Austin Aries and Nic Nemeth Herd of Hardcore: Bison Smith and Zandig Kenny King and Shad Simply Divine: Johnny Devine and Johnny Swinger Strong Company: Roderick & Sedrick Strong Team Extreme: Matt Hardy and M-Dogg The Dragon Gate: CIMA and Hiroshi Tanahashi The Haas Brothers: Charlie and Russ Haas The Perfect Storm: James Storm and Matt Morgan Planet Hollywood: Nitro Morrison, Chris Maters, Mat Malibu and Melina Nitro Morrison WWX World Champion Chris Masters WWX North American Melina WWX Womens World Perfect Storm WWX World Tag Team M-Dogg WWX Junior Heavyweight
  15. Extreme Championship Wrestling ECW initially came about as part of the NWA, then known as Eastern Championship Wrestling and ran by Todd Gordon. After being put into the hands of Paul Heyman in the early 90's the company slowly grew until it saw an explosion in popularity in 1998. Thanks to the Hardcore free flowing style of the product engendered it to fans not to fond of what was being presented by WCW. The high of the 90's didn't last long as financial woes soon crept in and threatened to close the company. Thanks to a few well laced lawsuits that went in his favor Heyman acquired a substantial cache of capital that allowed his to push ECW to another level. With the arrival of the new decade ECW features a roster of longtime ECW "legends" as well as a core of young talent picked from the independent wrestling scene that all exemplify what ECW is all about. Roster Alex Shelley, Axl Rotten, B-Boy, BLK Jeez, Brian Pillman, Bubba Ray Dudley, Chad Collyer, Chris Candido, Chris Dickinson, Chris Hero, Chrissy Rivera, Christian Cage, CM Punk, Dan Maff, Danny Havoc, Devon Dudley, DJ Hyde, Drake Younger, Eddie Kingston, Evan Karagias, Homicide, Jack Evans, Jack Princeton, Joe Gacy, Justin Credible, Kendrick, Kid Kash, Masada, Masato Tanaka, Mickie Knuckles, Mikey Whiplash, Mistico, Monsta Mack, Nick Mondo, Nunzio, Raven, Rey Misterio Jr., Rhino, Rob Van Dam, Ruckus, Ryan Slater, Sabu, Sami Callihan, Shaggy 2 Dope, Shannon Moore, Spike, Steve Corino, The Amazing Red, The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Tony Mamaluke, Trent Acid, Violent J, Yoshihiro Taijiri BLK OUT: Eddie Kingston and BLK Jeez w/ Chrissy Rivera Da Hit Squad: Monsta Mack and Dan Maff Full Blooded Italians: Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke Shannon Moore and Kendrick Spike and 'Sick' Nick Mondo Taijiri and Mistico The Dudley's: Bubba Ray and Devon Chris Hero ECW World Heavyweight Champion Mistico ECW World Television Champion BLK OUT ECW World Tag Team Champion
  16. World Championship Wrestling The promotion spun out from the old NWA and Jim Crockett Promotions. This has been the longstanding herald of American wrestling. Surviving many phases of the wrestling industry and almost self destructive pitfalls including the ousting of owner Ted Turner and a changing of the guard in both Turner Broadcasting and WCW management. After the firing of Ted Turner following a very public sexual harassment suit majority ownership was passed on to Eric Bischoff, a man looked at as the next in line to head the company in time at some point. After a slow 2 years of struggle following th drop in public image and reputation due to the Turner scandal WCW was set to take the American wrestling scene by it's throat. With no other company able to compete financially WCW profited immensely monopolizing the upper reaches of the industry. It wasn't until the mid 200's that it seemed WCW would face any form of opposition as ECW seemed to catapult itself from glorified indy into being a worthy competitor to WCW. Even this posed only a limited threat as WCW's weekly programming pulled in the highest ratings. With the opening of a new decade in 2010 WCW seems to be in a state of internal flux. While it maintains its hold as being the number one promotion in America and perhaps as a whole worldwide the majority of the stars that carried it throught the 90's and early 200's are either retired or near the end of their careers. Now is the time for WCW to create new stars to carry it into the future, somethig it seems to have begun doing with the pushes of Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, Kenny Doane and Ken Anderson. Will it be enough for WCW to maintain it's position or will it's two biggest American competitors usurp the throne. Roster Ahmed Johnson, AJ Styles, Andrew Martin, Andy Douglas, BJ Whitmer, Bob Holly, Bobby Lashley, Booker T, Bryan Danielson, Carly Colon, Chavo Guerero Jr., Chris Jericho, CW Anderson, Danny Basham, Darren Burridge, David Flair, Derrick Nekirk, Doug Basham, Dustin Rhodes Jr., Eddie Guerrero, Elijah Burke, Eve Torress, Flip Casanova, Idol Stevens, Jerelle Clark, Jerry Lynn, Joe Hennig, Joey Malibu, Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Juventud Guerrera, Kenny Doane, Kevin Fertig, Kid Romeo, Kurt Angle, Lance Cade, Marco Corleone, Matt jackson, Michelle McCool, Mike Bennett, Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, "Mad Man" Mike Mondo, Miss Ouellet, Monty brown, Mr. Anderson, Nick Jackson, Nidia, Nigel McGuinness, Nicole Garcia, Psicosis, Randy Orton, Reks, Rene Dupree, Robert Roode, Ryder, Sean O'Haire, Shane helms, Sonjay Dutt, "Superstar" Steve Austin, Tank Toland, The Abyss, Tommaso Ciampa, Willie Murdoch American Psychos: "Mad Man" Mike Mondo and Tommaso Ciampa Booker T and Chavo Cade and Murdoch Shane Helms and Sonjay Dutt Flip Casanova and Jerelle Clark Juvi and Psichosis New Generation: Randy Orton and Kenny Doane The Bashams: Doug and Danny The Young Bucks: Nick and Matt Jackson The Thrillseekers: Chris Jericho and Jerry Lynn Kurt Angle WCW World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles WCW United States Champion Lance Cade WCW Television Champion The Thrillseekers WCW Word Tag Team Champions Juventud WCW Cruiserweight Champion
  17. EDIT: Realized I had this posted in the wrong thread initially, so I remade it here. Backstory: August 29, 1997 , tragedy strike the professional wrestling world when the McMahon family's private jet goes down over the pacific ocean killing everyone on board with the exception of Shane McMahon and the steward staff. Because of the emotional ramifications of the incident Shane announced that he would take an indefinite hiatus from wrestling until such a time that he felt he could return to continue what his father started. In an effort to keep the WWF around in Shane handed the reigns of the World Wrestling Federation over to former WCW owner Ted Turner, who had been recently fired due to a sexual harassment lawsuit, a move many people pegged on Shane's emotional state of mind. Turner's hiring caused a sizable decrease in the WWF's stock and the company's reputation following plummeted as a result. Television ratings, merchandise sales, and overall morale in the company drastically decreased, leaving the WCW practically unopposed in the burgeoning Monday Night Wars. Despite what was a quickly falling organization several key components on the roster stayed around due to either a loyalty to the company and McMahon family or a unease at joining the companies that were seen as the enemy. WWF's absence from the top of the industry allowed WCW to become the absolute number one wrestling entity in the world and by the year 2000 WCW had truly become a Global organization. Even through it's success WCW was not devoid of all competition as the indy promotion with all the barb wire, ECW was quickly growing into something of a phenomenon. Though no one at the top of WCW saw Paul Heyman and his band of misfits as a real threat, the wrestling fan base saw ECW as an alternative. Something to compare and contrast. It was something new and fresh. 2000 became a year of change and growth. After nearly 3 years away from the business Shane McMahon decided to return to the business he was born into. His return did not go as smoothly as planned as Ted Turner refused to sign over the rights to WWF as it was legally now his. This only served to light a fire under the lone McMahon. A decision that would come to haunt Ted Turner in due time. With his family's inheritance he started hi own promotion, the birth of World Wrestling eXcellence was at hand. In the summer of 2000 WWX was promoted as 'pure excellence in wrestling'. Wanting to put on a product that blended the story building of sports entertainment with the talent pure wrestling enthusiasts enjoy. Despite a few initial setbacks WWX enjoyed major success in the early 2000's and became one of the shining lights in the business and was a promotion many felt could one day rival ECW and one day WCW as well. During the early to mid 2000's the wrestling industry in America was thriving. It soon had become what many call the mecca of professional wrestling, with not only the big two dominating television and ppv and WWX right behind them, the independent wrestling scene was a budding business. Many indy federations had sprung up, some found success and lived through the decade while others vanished as quickly as they appeared. Despite the success and growth of Wrestling in America the same couldn't exactly be said about the industry in other parts of the world. North of the border in Canada, outside of WCW wrestling was a scattered entity with just a handful of independent promotion in operation and even those drew crowds of only a few dozen people. Even the once respected Stampede Wrestling had become a sinking ship, until a familiar hero returned home. In Mexico only Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre or CMLL to those unable to speak Spanish had become the lone wolf in a vast desert. Because of the world wide growth of WCW and America & Japan becoming known as the countries where stars were made, traditional Lucha Libre has become passe. Only the longstanding tradition and nearly 100 year history of CMLL allowed it to hold it's place in the minds of Mexican wrestling fans. Japan had gained popularity with wrestling talent and became a haven for those indy wrestlers looking to broaden their horizons while waiting for their big break. Though things weren't all peaches and cream here either. The once dominant All Japan Pro Wrestling had become a shell of it's former self, caused by Shohei Baba's reluctance to capitalize on the growing popularity of Junior Heavyweight's and refusing to adapt to the fast paced style that was becoming popular with wrestling fans. His reasoning is that the old school way of doing things was All Japan's way, come hell or high water All Japan will stand by it's code. Baba's attitude caused a division between himself and several members of the All Japan roster. This rift caused much of the young Japanese talent to flock to AJPW's biggest competitor, New Japan Pro Wrestling. With both company's embracing the fast paced uptempo style that modern wrestling fans had come to adore they both began to enjoy various degrees of success New Japan having become the new leader of the Japanese market. New Japan however was beginning to flourish like never before. Not only was Japan fully embracing the promotion as the King of Sport, but it was gaining a huge following over sea's, especially so in America. It was due to this popularity in America that caused New Japan legend Keiji Mutoh, The Great Muta to create a promotion of his own, a promotion that would serve as a psuedo developmental territory to New Japan. Outside of the big two two other independent Japanese promotions were gaining ground leading into the new decade. Dragon Gate was created with the intent to blend Japanese wrestling with Mexico's Lucha Libre style. It was formed out of the remnants of Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon promotion and dojo. Through it, many Japanese wrestlers began making a name for themselves where they wouldn't be able to in New Japan or All Japan. Elswhere Sendai Girl's a promotion focused exclusively on womens wrestling had created a small niche for itself. Thank's to a partnership with WLW in America it slowly began expanding its influence onto American shores. On the European continent professional wrestling has seen a resurgence after being all but dead during the late 90's and early 2000's. Thanks to a coalition of promoters and old British wrestling legends, the 3 most notable promotions in the UK alliance have banded together to help spread the joy of wrestling across the UK and Europe. Great British Wrestling and Infinite promotions hail from the United Kingdom. GBW brings a televised presence to British professional wrestling not seen in almost a decade. Infinite Promotions focuses on giving young and up coming British and European talent the ability to hone their skill s and gain some notoriety by touring around the land. Over in the greater land of continental Europe Westside Xtreme Wrestling had gained some prominence making Germany a must stop for quality wrestling. wXw has a unique atmosphere to it as the fans are seated directly around the ring. Allowing them unparalleled access to the men and women in the ring. Jumping between the two is The Wrestling Union. The Union gives itself a unique feel through having a team based product influenced by Association and club football.
