  1. Being a 'traditionalist', for me, it should have been a minutes silence before every match up and down the country with black armbands. None of this minutes applause stuff or hymns.

But I won't slag off any club that chooses to do otherwise.

The 11 minutes after 11 minutes was an idea taken from Seville, who do 21 minutes on the 21st minute for their ex player.

  2. Seeing Bryn on SSN was heartbreaking.

Gary Speed was one of the first players I saw as a young Leeds United fan around 1994-1995, him and Gary McAllister were my first 2 favourite players.

Whats impressive about Speed is that the fans all remember him for the exact same reason, 110% effort, and all his team mates remember him for being an all round great person.

I feel that Speed would have gone on to be one of the top managers in football, if it hadnt come to such a bewildering abd tragic end.

    RIP Gary.

  3. If it's a game like Grand Theft Auto, RDR or Assassin's Creed, I am perfectly fine with having other people round watching me. This is because when playing these games, we operate on a rotation thing. For example, one time I had three friends round and we all went on GTA IV Multiplayer. Whenever one of us died, it would go to the next person along until they died, then they would swap. All of us were able to get involved, and it was a fun experience.

Really? When I was playing Red Dead Redemption, if someone played my save I considered killing them with a fork... Although Fallout was a very different situation, it was only fun in a social situation.

I can't stand playing games such as Football Manager in front of my girlfriend because its obviously a very highly emotive game... and she doesn't like me screaming obscenities at lights and pixels.

  4. The Finishing/Long Shots/Heading is only to do with the accuracy of those things.

    Decisions/Composure/Anticipation/Determination are more critical stats.

Decisions is basically the most important stat in the game from my reckoning.

I've been looking at how stats play their roles in FM, Its okay having great technical stats but no point having finishing of 20 if your composure and off the ball is 10 (Simon Johnson at Leeds springs instantly to mind).

  5. Poor woman, everybody makes mistakes, unfortunately, her mistake lead to a serious addiction.

Wasn't she also clinically depressed? Anyone with this condition deserves sympathy, whether you look at the drugs problem or not.

  6. Watching this now. Fucking hell.

United should probably get shot with Robbo as this "official ambassador" or whatever. Dunno if they've ever rescinded that position but Jesus. I'm not sure I want someone representing my club who believes that football is no longer a sport and this sort of behaviour's acceptable, no matter how fantastic he was on the pitch.

Sim comes across as a right hanger-on.

How come when I think back to this program I can't picture Sim, just Chow from the Hangover

  7. Is it possible to get yourself on a club's favourite personnel screen? I shit miracles at Leeds and I'm still not even regarded as favoured personnel let alone an icon or legend.

Its odd, I was put on the list of icons at Liverpool for aLeague cup win, but League 1 to Prem champions with Leeds doesn't get you anything... funny set of fuckers us Leeds fans.

  8. Does anyone else concede a daft ammount of goals straight after scoring yourself? I'm almost scared to score these days.

A manager shout usually does the trick, or stepping back from attacking to standard, or standard to defensive.

I used to concede loads in the last quarter and lose points, but just getting some players back can sort all this out.

  9. I prefer to pay upfront. If a club wants 10, and I want to pay 8 then I'll normally use instalments for the difference.

I don't like people who spend like 40m over 48 months when they're budget is 22m or something.

Im trying to sell my players with fees over 24 months, month on month im making a loss, so trying to offset it slightly.

  10. Beating Barcalona with an extremely dodgy red card/penalty? I would have had it no other way. :D

Glad Charlie Adam scored a last minute penalty for you... I got relegated because of that twat... missed 2 penalties in a must win game against Spurs, drew 1-1.

The ref obviously had a bet on Blackpool staying up, the penalties were soft and they were in the 83rd and 92nd minutes.

  11. I'm thinking about letting my Liverpool contract run down and become a free-agent.

    Options im possibly going to go for is;

    - Wait and wait and wait for the Leeds job to come available.

    - Build a lower league club up that has Premiership potential but needs a large push and revamp, also never played Premiership football, eg. Notts County, Peterbrough or Bristol City.

  12. I got a game up and running after a lot of pissing about trying to make it so only people from the region of UK and Ireland can play and be signed by premiership teams. In the end it was something really simple that I can't remember without going on the editor.

If ya do remember/find out, I'd love to know. Sounds like a blast.

    I think this might work...

    Editor > Match day rules (or similar) > Squad size = 25 > Minimum UK/Ire based players = 25.

    Key word there is MIGHT.

  13. Top game by NSW, hard fought win. Gallen played like a machine and most of the boys had a good game. How much was NSW paying at 1-12 for a win when you gut on phat?

Was extremely impressed with Paul Gallen, he stepped it up big time.

Shows how far European nations are because Peacock, Graham (for now, we'll see after a few years at Bulldogs), Morley and LMS can't match his input from number 10.
