  1. Hard to have the possesions to rush when your QB is turning over the ball and you're falling behind by 20 points.
  2. I mean, the game isn't over yet, but.. If Airizona and Philly both won, the Cardinals would actually host the game? And that two 9 win teams would be in the Conference final, with another possible 8 win team in the AFC? Insane.
  3. What is wrong with Jake Delhomme? Seriously. He's not the best QB in the world, and I don't like him, but they way he's playing makes me feel that there's no way the Panthers would even want him back next season. That's how bad he's doing. EDIT: Larry Fitz. Rediculously good.
  4. Who thought you could lose in the playoffs but be winning the next week? I'm just kidding, i know you meant Arizona. Jake Delhomme sucks.
  5. With teams as close to even as the Titans and Ravens were, losing Chris Johnson was too much to handle. But Joe Cool proving me wrong. No mistakes. Tennessee: Way too many mistakes. Penalties, fumbles. Good win for the Ravens.
  6. Interesting. For some reason, no one even talks about the Giants doing it compared to the Dolphins. Just to further go into it. Giants: Manning had 10 INT, and they lost 3 fumbles. Dolphins: Pennington had 7 INT, and they lost 6 fumbles. While there's nothing more at this point that I would enjoy rather than a Giants loss, the Eagles just seem a tad bit overrated.
  7. So last week I went 2-2, where Indy and Atlanta cost me. Oh well. Time for the Divisional Round Arizona @ Carolina Alright, well, the Cardinals win over the Falcons can be explained in a lot of ways. Cards were a good home team, Atlanta had a bad defense, Atlanta had a rookie QB. This is week is a lot different. I did say before Arizona had a chance against the Panthers, but it's not much more than a puncher's chance. Jake Delhomme isn't the greatest QB in the world, but no one on the Cardinals can stop the Delhomme to Smith connection, and no one is going to stop Deangelo Williams either. The match-up seems lopsided until you look at the fact that the Cardinals did play the Panthers in a close game in Carolina back in week 8. Warner threw 381 yards there and had a couple of scores. Then again, did you see the actions of the Cards in the Falcons game? When they dumped the gatorade on Ken Whisenhunt, the Cards might have well said "WOOHOO, WE DID IT, WE WON A PLAYOFF GAME!!" I mean, were they not expecting to win or something? Panthers 41, Cardinals 23 Philadelphia @ New York Giants Exactly who the Giants did not want to play. Seriously. Eagles beat the Giants in the Meadowlands a few weeks ago, so confidence is in Philly's favor. This game also has some similar looks to the Cowboys-Giants Divisional game of last season, where the Eagles are the momentum team with a QB that regained confidence (remember how well Eli Manning played in the playoffs last season) and the Giants are the Cowboys in terms of the good but shaky QB (Romo's lack of clutch compared to Eli Manning falling off a bit at the end of the season, 18TD, 7 INT first 12 games this season, 3 TD, 3 INT since) and a team that really didn't carry any momentum in week 17. But I can't buy the Eagles. They looked pretty bad against the Vikings. Minnesota was able to hold them to three FGs (always better than a TD somewhere in there) and only Tavaris Jackson's pick-six gave Philly the lead. The Westbrook screen was broken defense on Minnesota's part, I do not see the Giants letting up something like that. I also fully expect Derrick Ward, Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw to all have decent days. Giants 24, Eagles 17 San Diego @ Pittsburgh The Chargers are a tough team. Philip Rivers had nearly no protection whatsoever and was still able to make key plays near the end of the Indy game. Darren Sproles looked great and showed that having LT isn't required for the Chargers to win. And remember their week 11 game? It was so strange. It was in Pittsburgh, and the Steelers gained 410 yards to the Chargers 218. No turnovers for the Steelers, 2 for the Chargers. The final score was 11-10? How? Chargers did not allow a touchdown the entire game. Their offense is better now, and their defense proved they can stop people (Indy last week) and they showed they can win in the clutch. And how much can you really trust Big Ben or Willie Parker? Unless the Steelers defense makes plays (which it can and did again San Diego in that week 11 win, with a James Harrison safety) they won't win. Crazy wildcard to this. Mike Scifres was the MVP of the Indy-SD game last week. His punting left Indy in no within their own 10 five times. His performance probably swung the game about 10 points. Mitch Berger for the Steelers is one of the worst punters in the game. Heck, he was even released earlier in the season! Does that not swing at least a TD or something? Chargers 17, Steelers 13 Baltimore @ Tennessee These teams are virtually mirror images of the other. This game can be summed up in a few ways. QB vs. Defense match-up: Would you rather have Kerry Collins vs. Ravens D or Joe Flacco vs. Titans D. I'd much rather have Collins. RB vs. Defense match-up: Would you rather have Chris Johnson and LenDale White vs. Ravens D or Willis McGahee, Leron McClain and Ray Rice vs. Titans D. I'd rather have Chris Johnson and LenDale White Would you rather have the Titans D vs. Ravens O or Ravens D vs. Titans O overall. I'd rather have the Titans D. Head Coach: Jeff Fisher or John Harbaugh? Fisher It's close everywhere, and maybe Ed Reed makes a play. But the Titans are the better team. Titans 13, Ravens 9
  8. Titans are a 3 point favorite over the Ravens Panthers are a 10 point favorite over the Cardinals Giants are a 4 point favorite over the Eagles Steelers are a 6 point favorite over the Chargers Titans Panthers Giants Chargers Random note, last i heard the Titans were 3 point favorites over the Ravens. Where did you get thiese lines from? EDIT: Still taking the Titans
  9. I did like my Chris Bosh pick there. I don't know college FB well, but doesn't Ohio State lose like every year in a bowl game? This is tough though. My max streak has been 3 so far.
  10. Despite the multiple chances each team is giving the other, I just don't see Tavaris Jackson leading a game winning drive here. Minnesota's only hopes are a blunder by the Eagles offense or Peterson breaking out for a big run. I know they only need a FG, but well, Jackson stinks. EDIT: Way for Minnesota's D to fall apart there.
  11. If your league has points per reception, while Westbrook is by far the top player in that format if healthy, getting a very good WR (especially with a good throwing QB there, which Rodgers is) and Rivers is good too. Why do you have a backup TE and DEF? I would go on your waiver wire and see if any next season sleepers are around (Josh Morgan, Tashard Choice, Rashard Mendenhall etc. etc.)
  12. How about that awful clock managment/playcalling by Brad Childress?
  13. I think it depends on your RB situation. It also matters if it's a PPR league. Westbrook gets hurt a lot, and in return you'll get a RB who really is likely done (LT), and Jacobs, who gets hurt but is a monster when he plays. See if that guy has Sproles too and try to get him in the deal. Rivers is a very good QB and young, Jennings is a very good WR and is relatively young. I say it depends what you need. On the topic of the game, Tavaris Jackson is doing basically what I expected so far. He's trying to make some big plays (which he made one with Berrian just now), but is ultimately making costly mistakes (pick-six to Samuel).
  14. No it's not. As long as the Orlando game is over, i can pick whatever other game I want. EDIT: Rule #2: Once your matchup is final, make another pick and build a streak. Keep in mind, you can make multiple picks each day but you don't have to pick each day if you don't want to.
  15. I went with Dwight Howard, which was a win, and Philly now, and possibly a game later.
  16. That will not fly against Tennessee. I already see it next week. Everyone picks Baltimore cause they're the hot team and they're peaking (and well, they're good, too), but I'm confident the Titans win next week.
  17. Think goodness for Peyton's psyche that he won a Superbowl in 2006/2007, with the amount of one and dones in his career come playoff time (1999, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2008), a lot of those games in which Indy was favored (99, 05, 06, 07). I'll still back his MVP vote. The Colts defense in a clutch situation was more to blame for the loss against SD.
  18. It there is any team that has nothing to lose, it'd be Philly. They really should not be here whatsoever, and they are. If they lose, Reid and McNabb will be fine just because they got in. The Dolphins are the worst team in the AFC, yet, they can beat Baltimore. It's just hard to back a rookie QB in the playoffs on the road, even when you have the overall better team (see Ryan, Matt). Difference: Matt Ryan had to carry the game because he had no defense and the running game blowed. Joe Flacco doesn't really have to worry due to having that number two defense. They wouldn't be beating a team like the Colts, Titans, or Steelers, but they can handle the Dolphins. Man, this Colts/Chargers game is awesome. It's all on the line for the Chargers. Which is what I've said more than a couple of times already. I said Miami can win, but I certainly don't think they will. I even predicted Ravens would win by about 20 a few pages back. But historically, rookie QB on the road is still a problem. Let's say Miami leads 10-3, which is certainly possible. Joe Flacco is going to stage a comeback? In Miami? Miami probably won't turn it over. All I said it Miami can win. Despite Flacco, Baltimore can win in Pittsburgh and Tennessee, believe it or not. Not Indy though.
  19. And that Miami rarely turns over the ball, and they could win some ugly 10-3 game. Baltimore is a lot better though, and should handle Miami with ease. Trick plays aren't all that great against top defenses come playoff time. Only real way to beat Baltimore is to go with the long ball, and Chad Pennington isn't doing that.
  20. It won't be pretty though. While he can help, LT won't be the reason the Chargers win or lose this game.
  21. Tremendous year for the Falcons overall. Their future is quite bright as well. Good for Warner as well. 0-1 so far, that's what I get for backing a rookie QB on the road with an awful defense. I'm stoked for this Indy-SD game though. I took Indy here.
  22. Awful defense by Atlanta. How you let a 3rd and 16 convert like that in the biggest moment of your season is inexplicable. I believe the Cardinals have won?
  23. Great drive by Atlanta. A lot of poise by Ryan. I think Arizona has to pound the ball into James and try to kill as much clock as possible. EDIT: Atlanta's defense really needs to step it up and allow Matt Ryan and the offense a chance to win the game.
  24. He's done okay considering he's a rookie QB on the road. Cardinals special teams did really good backing the Falcons deep in their own territory. Cardinals defense made plays too.
  25. No, Hightower does suck. Goal line TDs are there cause he gets goal line carries. EDIT: Momentum wise, this game is as good as over. I don't see a rookie QB on the road leading a fourth quarter comeback the way this game is going. EDIT2: What was I thinking taking a rookie QB on the road in the playoffs? And to think I'm doing it again with Baltimore tommorrow.
