  1. Man, I wonder what idiots picked the Hawks. Jeez. It's clear that Orlando would wreck them. :Hides in corner: Anyway, I couldn't be more excited about the Suns. I did not think they were getting past San Antonio and now they're up 3-0. I don't think they will get past LA, but I'd absolutely love to see a Steve Nash NBA Finals appearance. Ironically, the performances of Cleveland and Orlando in the playoffs this year seems to be a 180 of last year. Last year Cleveland swept the first two series while Orlando had a seven game series against Boston. This year? Cleveland-Boston might be a long series, and Orlando looks like they might sweep the first two. I do think it is amazing that Atlanta, deep and talented as they are, have struggled as much as they have. I don't even see Joe Johnson returning to the team, and I think their window of doing anything will close.
  2. My pick looks pretty bad, that's for sure. I'll stick with it though.
  3. I do think Atlanta will win the series against Orlando in 6. Orlando swept the Bobcats, in a series where their best player could barely stay on the court. Despite it being a sweep, all momentum just seemed lost. The Hawks though, kinda went through that whole fight, with two big wins in a row. They made a statement against the Bucks in game 7, and I think Orlando might sleep on them. Hawks in 6.
  4. I will take the Cavs in 6 over the Celtics, The Spurs over the Suns in 6, The Lakers over the Jazz in 5, and I'll wait on Orlando-Hawks/Bucks
  5. Disappointed that the Bucks couldn't get the job done tonight, and probably won't in Atlanta. Great Thunder-Lakers game, singling Kobe would have worked, he did miss, but not boxing out Gasol was a huge mistake. It looked like Ibaka and Green were just seeing if the shot went in. Russell Westbrook showed that he has to be at least mentioned when talking about the best point guards in the game, and the fact that the Thunder had a real chance to force game 7 with Durant shooting 5-23 has to be encouraging.
  6. There's no question James deserved the MVP award. Sigh, Steve Nash is my favorite player in the league (even though I am a NYK fan), and I just get sad every time they face off against San Antonio in the playoffs. It never goes right. Great rivalry of the last decade. I feel LeBron is going to wreck Boston, but then again, I said that about Miami too.
  7. So much for the East being completely straight, how are the Hawks in this position, down 3-2 to the Bogutless Bucks? I like that Jennings has had a good series.
  8. I'm absolutely surprised at Portland. I did feel OKC-LA would be 2-2 and that the Lakers will win 4-2, but I def didn't see the OKC blowout happening. The year I count out the Spurs in the playoffs, of course they will probably beat a stacked Dallas team and I'd take them to defeat the Suns-Blazers winner. Utah-Denver doesn't surprise me, it is tough to overcome a head coach loss in a series that would be just about even normally. The East, it should be straight I guess. I thought Boston would fold against Miami, but everything else makes sense.
  9. It's defintely been an exciting playoffs. That Spurs-Mavs game was excellent. Wade and James are just amazing. Even the Bucks are putting up a fight. As for the Western Conference, since the 1st seed only had 7 more wins than the 8th seed, a few upsets were more than likely.
  10. Gotta like this Jeff Gordon-Jimmie Johnson rivalry.

  11. I still think LA will take the series in 6. I don't see guys like Harden, Manyor and even Green having great games in LA, then the Lakers take a close on in OKC. Maybe Pau Gasol could remember absolutely no one can guard him on that Thunder team and do something of value.
  12. I cannot recall a time an 8th seeded team trashed a 1st seeded team like this with the exception of Golden State-Dallas, which Golden State won anyway. That Oklahoma City crowd is great. Being a Nash fan, I'm not happy Brandon Roy is back.
  13. That was an absolute dagger by Pierce last night.
  14. Cavs def Bulls in 4 Lebron James is just too sick. Seriously. Bulls steal one maybe if Derrick Rose has a sick game somewhere. Magic def Bobcats in 5 Dwight Howard has too much size for the Cats, although Stephen Jackson is a good playoff performer and matching up with Carter could be a good advantage for the Cats. Hawks def Bucks in 6 John Salmons is a good scorer and Jennings could play well enough to steal a game as well. The Hawks are just too deep. Heat def Celtics in 6 This just isn't the same Celtics as even last year. Garnett is a shell of his former self, Pierce has to be exhausted at this point. Ray Allen could win this series himself, and Rondo is their best player, which I'm not a fan of. The Heat are on a role, and I don't see anyone on that Celtic team stopping Wade. Boston isn't even much of a home team anymore. Lakers def Thunder in 6 Durant will make it a series and have a good first playoff series. Gasol will make the difference here, who on OKC can guard him? Mavericks def Spurs in 5 This Mavericks team is stacked. Stacked. The Spurs look good now because Ginobili is playing well. If the Spurs, who are a bit better than they were last year couldn't beat Dallas then, why would they beat a much better Dallas team now? Suns def Blazers in 5 Too bad Roy is out. Jazz def Nuggets in 7 Deron Williams is playing out of his mind. Loss of AK and Boozer injuries hurt Utah, but Denver just seems to be a mess with the sad George Karl situation.
  15. Control scheme could be better, but it's not the worst thing in the world once you get used to it.
  16. Scribblenauts for the DS is a great game. The ability to use any item imaginable is quite the concept.
  17. Time to start talking about Drew Brees in the true elite Quarterbacks.
  18. It's just about over...but hey, I still wouldn't count Indianapolis out yet. Anything can happen.
  19. I'm always a fan of a player padding an already great resume, so I'll take the Colts for the big game. I'd bet Brett Favre will be back. I'd be surprised that after how close the Vikings came, they would like another crack at it instead of having Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels in there. Say what you want about Favre, he had one hell of a great season.
  20. Chase? Cincinnati made the playoffs and Pittsburgh didn't. That's all I wanted to say. I didn't realize that the fact that their fluke season (going 4-6 outside of your division makes you a fluke) lead to them getting in the playoffs when the Steelers didn't makes my criticism irrelevant. If that's the case then all the times Ravens fans ripped on the Steelers last season were thrice as irrelevant. Everything I said is true whether the Bengals finished with a better record than the Steelers or not. The Bengals are a joke franchise, they always have been and they always will be. They came into the playoffs, just like 2005, with a sense of entitlement and they got beat. Carson Palmer never shows up in big games, Chad Johnson disappears whenever a good CB lines up across from him, and when the situations get big the Bengals come up short. That's because they lack a true leader in their locker room. Palmer can't do it, and Chad Johnson won't do it. In Palmer's defense, he didn't really have an opportunity in 2005. He got injured almost immediately. This was is first full playoff game and while it wasn't a good performance, I think it is a stretch to say he doesn't show up in big games. Give him time. Name a time, since his days at USC when he came up big in a big game. If you look at Palmer's stats he's always struggled during the times when the league's best QBs excel: third down, fourth quarter. Palmer was probably the most overrated QB in the NFL up until last season. Now he's fallen behind a few guys on that list, but he still doesn't have that it factor that makes guys winners. No USC QB ever has, really. Again, he hasn't had any big games to speak of before yesterday. Looking at this splits this season, he has been a bit above average on third down (88.9 rating, 8TD and 3INT), in the 4th quarter he's pretty average, although a bit better in closer games. He is overrated when he's put into the same league as Manning and Brady (which he incorrectly has been), but he is a good quarterback, and I think his career will have a better definition over the next few seasons.

  22. This has turned into one hell of a game.
  23. I feel like I just saw this with Baltimore and New England.
  24. The higher seed plays the lower seed in the second round. Jets were 5th seed, so they'll play the 2nd seed Chargers. Ravens were 6th seed, so they'll play 1st seed Colts.
