  1. Enjoyed the episode. Fight at the end was terribly one sided, but became perversely entertaining to see just how much blood this dude could lose. Was a nasty gash when he was shown on the doctors table after the fight. Yuck.

Interested to see the really tall ex-NFL guy with no cardio, I wonder how his fight will go... I don't expect him to do very well, but he intrigues me.

Kimbo Slice is another one who I want to see fight- this is the first time I have had TV exposure to Kimbo at all, despite hearing his name a lot in the media. Lets see what he can bring to the table.

Good start to the season and I'll be watching this every week.

  2. I didn't like it.

Was far too long & didn't have enough laughs in it for my liking. As people have said beforehand: it is not a comedy in the truest sense of the word. IIRC, it was sold as a comedy in the trailers, and the title of the film is misleading, especially considering the cast.

Perhaps it has the emotional depth and yada yada that others have spoken about, I don't dispute that, but it wasn't what I wanted to see. That hurt my opinion of it.

  3. Agreed one billion percent about Ginny being far too plain jane and dull to be a sex interest for Harry.

Thought Horace Slughorn stole every scene he was in.

Wasn't ever interested in Harry Potter before this film, went with a girl who wanted to go see it. Still not interested in it.

Harry seemed amazingly impotent through the entire film; he's a wizard, and not just that- but the 'chosen one', and yet he seemed utterly useless throughout the film whenever he fought anyone.

He couldn't be invisible properly when he was on the train.

He couldn't stop that house being burnt down.

Every spell he attempted was blocked (if that's how it works?) because EVERYONE WAS BETTER THAN HIM.

He couldn't even stop the masses of dead water goons that looked as strong as a sparrows kneecap. When you need to be saved by an old dying man when under siege from what can be best described as Putties from Power Rangers, you don't come across as all that special to me.

Watching this film, I didn't buy Harry Potter as the hero of the film. It's far too much like LOTR, and he's Frodo.

Don't know how this all fits in with the books, but it sure felt like 2 1/2 hours of childish kiss chase, with very little happening of any importance.

Although I will be the first to admit, I have very little knowledge of Harry Potter. Quidditch looks like fun though. I want a go.

  4. I need a strategy guide for this game. Cannot help but lose ad nauseum.

I don't understand Major/minor transitions. Not too good at reversing things on the ground. Clinch I have no idea what I'm doing.

Despite that, it's still a pretty awesome game.

Will get better with practise no doubt.

  5. I just beat my friend 6-0 (Holland v Mexico) and 4-0 in the rematch (Holland v Croatia). Wahoo. This game is so much more fun when you're not getting trounced by online geeks with seven thumbs.

  6. Well it's kind of to be expected that they wouldn't sustain the 2m viewers, as a lot of them will be tuning in because of the hype and novelty of it. When you consider the other factors- like increased competition on Saturday night TV, 900k+ is still a real good number. Looking forward to seeing this concluded tonight. :)

  7. So wait, what?

This takes place after season 10? There's stuff that's happened in season 9 and 10, which we don't know about yet.

All too much info to try and understand / squeeze into 3 episodes, and it's killing all the comedy. How the hell did they ever plan to get all this stuff into 2 episodes (as per the original plan?)

Need to watch it again because my brain hurts.

So many questions, so little laughs, 30 minutes left. Ugh.

  8. I loved it, but agree with Katsuya. What happened after Rimmer kicked death in the balls? Was glossed over, but I guess time constraints were a real problem. 20 minute episodes are passe in 2009, after being conditioned to watch 45 minute episodes of LOST, 24, House, etc.

Probably wasn't great TV, but I was marking out like a bitch to seeing a new episode of Red Dwarf on TV. Was just getting into it as well when it cut off. Luckily I only have to wait until tomorrow for my next fix. Whatever the quality of the episodes are, I'm tripping on the nostalgia right now.

  9. Been loving this series so far, but have no idea who Kanye West is (I've heard of him, but couldn't tell you anything about him) and haven't even heard of Carlos [whateverhisnameis]. Episode fell a bit flat, but I guess it goes to show that South Park is hit & miss, depending on how culturally relevant the plot points are to you. When they make jokes and references to things you've never heard of, it's a lot less funny.

  10. That's pretty cool - but with such a contrasting mix of black & whites on the screen, I have to wonder what colour text your screen icons would have? Unless you have that icky block colour behind the text, I can't think of a colour that would work across the entire screen.

That's my only criticism of it really. Looks cool.

  11. Good win Animal, Chelsea can be a difficult team to beat because of their solid 5-man midfield. AD and I shouldn't have a problem playing each other, considering I see him online a lot. Looking forward to it; last time we played it was a draw (and you won in extra-time but that doesn't matter :P)

I went for a traditional 4-4-2 system, it didn't work out.
