  1. Sucks to lose Jokinen since he had a hell of a year, but Glass was horrible. Other than fighting/blocking shots, he was all around bad. I'm just worried about the Pens top six, since Dupuis is coming off major surgery, and I'm guessing they'll go Kunitz/Crosby/Dupuis and Bennet/Malkin/Hornqvist, but I'm not sure on Bennet as a top six guy yet. I thought for sure they would try to get someone in there to play with Malkin.
  2. Rumors going around that Paul Martin might get traded, since he has a year left on his deal and hasn't shown much interest in staying. Really hope not, he's Pittsburgh's best defenseman, and Letang and him were getting into a nice groove together. If they gotta move a defenseman, find someone to take Scuderi.
  3. Orpik signs with Washington for five years. Gonna miss him on the Pens, but it was time to go. No idea on why Washington would sign him for that long for at his age and the way he slowed down this year.
  4. Pens sign Comeau and Greiss both to one year deals. Like both of these deals along with the Ehrhoff one.
  5. Pittsburgh is one of the teams interested in Brodeur. Don't see the reason for it, if they need a veteran to back up Fleury, Vokoun is still there.
  6. Niskanen is a goner, he's going to be making a killing going somewhere else. I would like to see Pittsburgh try to keep him, but not overpay him for one good year, considering he got pretty bad towards the end of the season and some of the playoffs. But I gotta think he's going to be making some serious money come Tuesday. Kulemin is rumored to be heading to Pittsburgh to play with Malkin, so there's that.
  7. I doubt there's more to it than JR being incredibly stupid. Neal was one of Shero's greatest steals and one of the few that could play with Malkin and they give him away. Ugh!
  8. So Shero gets fired because he couldn't draft and they hire this clown who trades away one of their top players for basically nothing. Jesus Christ...........
  9. How could ownership allow this shit? So Malkin has no linemates now, and we get rid of a thirty goal scorer.
  10. Mike Johnston is the new head coach for Pittsburgh and Rick Tocchett will be a assistant coach. Martin will remain in some capacity as well. I don't know too much about Johnston, this should be interesting to see. I am glad they kept Mike Bales on for Fleury, though.
  11. Crosby comes out a big winner too, with huge blowout in the Hart trophy race, getting 128 out of 137 first place votes.
  12. Well, the Jackets/Penguins rivalry just got more interesting. I wonder if Hartnell wanted out of Philly, didn't have a no trade clause in his deal?
  13. Bylsma will get hired eventually, it wouldn't surprise me to see someone dump their coach in the middle of the season and bring him in. The rumor is that Florida just couldn't afford him. Pens got turned down by the guy who now went to Vancouver, and he was the first choice. Apparently it was due to money, the contract length and him not being able to choose his assistants, this is turning into a mess, no idea on what's going to happen. Out of the names out there, I'm betting they end up with Hynes.
  14. Bill Peters is the new coach for Carolina, and Pittsburgh is apparently real close to announcing their new coach.
  15. They can only buyout players who were signed before the lockout right? Like, Pittsburgh wouldn't be able to get rid of Scuderi? Also, been seeing quite a few names popping around as possible coaches for the Pens. Other than the two that were mentioned, John Hynes, Ulf Samuelsson, John Stevens, Bill Peters and Rick Tocchet are all names that they are considering. Tocchet, though, is being looked at as a assistant coach. My best guess is that they end up with either Hynes or Samuelsson.
  16. Marc Crawford is another name interviewing for the position. Feel bad for whoever gets the job if the Pens don't start off the season as good as they usually did under Bylsma.
  17. Caught the final half, hell of a game there. Congrats to LA, they were just too much for NY.
  18. I just don't see any chance of that happening. LA wins it Friday/Monday for sure. I just can't see NY forcing a game seven.
  19. It was a thriller late to say the least, another great game in this series. Two ridiculously close goals saved just at the edge of the NYR's goal line. Made the difference tonight. Great defensive play though for the Rangers, just an awesome hockey game to watch overall. Definitely was a great one, I thought for sure LA was going to tie it, but I am glad to see it going to a fifth game. I'm expecting LA to win it on Friday, though.
  20. Lundqvist is keeping NY in this game, because LA has been outplaying NY since the second period here. I wouldn't be surprised if LA ends up tying it up.
  21. Should be interesting to see what he can do over there if he does get it, but I thought for sure he'd be coaching Vancouver or Carolina.
