  1. Pens looked great last night, granted, it was against Buffalo, but the Sabres played a good first period and parts of the second. Third shutout for Fleury, and the PK and Powerplay have been amazing.
  2. To give him some credit, he wasn't the reason Pittsburgh got eliminated this year, he wasn't great, but nowhere near the Flyers/Islanders series bad. I have a hard time not blaming him. I really hate blaming Sid but honestly he played a huge part in it since he continued to play hurt and it's really hard to score with a fucked up wrist. Sometimes he really needs to realize that sitting out might be the best thing for the team. If we could just teach Malkin that he doesn't always need his mommy there to watch him then we might be able to get back to the cup. Don't get me wrong, he let in some bad goals during games five and six, but it's not on him that Pittsburgh couldn't score more than three goals in the last three games. Lundqvist was awesome in game seven, but can't blame Fleury for that one. Hell, the game they lost in OT was on the horrible defense that hung him out. If there was a way for them to get better goaltending before the playoffs, I would love for them to jump at the chance, but for now it's gonna be Fleury. I also don't blame Sid, since he was hurt and Malkin was playing well enough too, but I think pairing Malkin and Sid ended up hurting the second line, hell, Neal looked useless without Malkin.

  4. Thirty six save shutout for Fleury! Hell of a game from Pittsburgh against LA, was alot closer than the score came out to, but Fleury had some great saves and the defense played great too.
  5. To be fair, Pittsburgh should have won 9-2 if they had allowed that Crosby goal, which clearly should have counted, and would have discounted the Devils second goal. Glad the Pens won it, though. Really looking forward to tomorrow's game. Glad to see Boston struggling, though.
  6. Yes, it was. The ending shocked the hell out of me.
  7. This episode really made me hate the Commodore even more. I'm hoping Gillian has some kind of happy ending. Also, on the Homeland stuff, that scene with Carrie and the baby wasn't as bad as people made it seem. I am really liking this season so far, especially since it's back to a more of a Season 1 style, instead of way too much drama like in the second and third with all the Brodie stuff.
  8. That's my biggest issue with trading Fleury. Who can they get who will get them atleast 35 wins a year? I'm hoping Greis turns out to be good in Pittsburgh, but unless he puts on some amazing games, I don't see him taking the starter job from Fleury. I just hope JR doesn't give Fleury a long contract and Greis turns out to be a solid reliable backup like Vokoun was. But tonight's game wasn't on Fleury for sure. He bailed them out big time in the second period, and the team just seemed disinterested in the game after the first ten minutes. I'm not worrying or anything, it's only the fifth game of the season, but it's pathetic how the Flyers own the Pens at Consol.
  9. Pens got the Flyers tonight, just hope they play as well as they did against the Islanders. Ugh and JR is apparently going to renew Fleury's contract soon. I like MAF, but seems way too early to renew his contract.
  10. What do you have? I'll be happy to give you a few more It's probably because For a Few Dollars More is the lamest of the three (in my opinion, especially with how wonderfully it ends with Good, Bad and Ugly, which is the sort of prequel, either way). Either way, it's still really worth a watch, and it doesn't matter, they're only a trilogy in the sense that Eastwood doesn't have a name in all three and Sergio Leone is the director. In every other way, they're basically standalone movies. I always preferred For A Few Dollars more over the first one, but that's just me, but all three are really great movies.
  11. Ugh, Pens played a bad third period and end up losing to Dallas. Just hoping Dupuis is fine, would suck for him to get seriously injured after playing so well since the season started.
  12. Was getting worried about the Pens when they blew a three goal lead, but glad to see them get two quick ones. PK has been bad so far, and Fleury pretty much handed the Ducks their second goal. Dupuis has been awesome so far, looking like he hasn't missed a step since December. Looking forward to them hopefully shutting down the Ducks in the third.
  13. And Bennet got hurt at practice too. I think this season will end up going well, but I'm not expecting them to start off red hot like they usually do just because it's a whole new coaching staff and system. Just hope everyone is healthy come playoffs.
  14. Needs more Sting in a T-shirt.
  15. And turns out Crosby was playing with a broken wrist during the playoffs and will get surgery. I honestly thought the schedule just got to him this year.
  16. So that obviously doesn't sound good. Giroux is a native of Hearst, Ont., but lives in Ottawa in the offseason according to the Sun. As is always the case, with so few details currently, it's hard to jump to any conclusions, but this doesn't look good for Giroux, who was a Hart Trophy finalist this year. More details will be added as soon as they become available. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/eye-on-hockey/24604149/report-flyers-captain-claude-giroux-arrested-in-ottawa
  17. Pens will keep Goc for another year. Really glad with this signing, gives Pittsburgh some depth on the bottom six.
  18. I wish Pittsburgh had kept Cooke, he might have been dirty at times, but I guarantee you that Crosby wouldn't have taken that abuse during the playoffs with Cooke there. I like Niskanen and Orpik, but the only change that really upset me was the Neal trade.
  19. I would have gone after Niskanen if I were them, but I don't get the Orpik signing. I like him, but he's slowed down a lot this year compared to even last year, and a five year deal for him is too much. As for Niskanen, he certainly had a huge year, and was a huge part for the Pens success when guys like Martin, Letang, Orpik and Scuderi went down with injuries, but I think all the extra minutes got to him, especially after the break and into the playoffs. I am interested in seeing Pittsburgh's defense this year, especially if they bring up some of the younger guys.
  20. Rutherford shot down the Kulemin talk, even though he said he was going to get Malkin a winger after trading Neal, which makes it all the more baffling as to why he traded Neal, who gelled so well with Malkin. Niskanen signs with the Caps for seven years.
