If it was about money, Rooney could've stayed at Everton, signed a new contract and picked up £55k a week. He won't be making much more than that with Man Utd. He fell out with Moyes and whatever efforts that were made by the club to patch things up were ignored, on the advice of his "advisors", who have done more to harm his career than anyone. As I type, they are 1 - 1 with Norwich, and until they get at least 2 centre backs, they won't move forward. I expect Rooney to leave, but not now. January would be better for Everton, as Moyes would have more time to spend whatever money is received wisely, and the reaction his move may be less, as Everton fans would have had time to accept it, as there are a few who still think he will never leave.

Imbrahimovic wouldn't go to France, so I'd go after Luis Fabiano for around £7 million. from Sao Paulo, before AC Milan get there first. Dellas, to replace Van Buyten who I think has gone to Hamburg. Roma would probably accept around £3 million. Van Bommel, for around £3 million. Miguel, for around £5 million. And Wiltord on a free, with money to spare.

Either Kezman, Cisse or Van Persie, although I would be interested to see if Kluivert gets his arse in gear and actually does something for Newcastle.
