  1. I got Brian Lara, and I'm told its better. Batting at Test level is impossible however, I bowled Pakistan out for 144, and now I'm 33 for 6 in a Test match. Oh, and the England squad for the ICC Tournaments is a bit out-dated. Andy Caddick anyone?
  2. Even if we do get knocked out, that's still the Uefa Cup. I'd definatly have taken that this time last year.
  3. He was decent for us, even if he did bugger off pretty damn quickly. A season I think it was. I'd be suprised if Arsenal moved for him, he doesn't seem to be an Arsenal player, what with his advancing age.
  4. We've resigned Alessandro Pistone, if anyone cares. He's signed a two year deal, its on the official site. Just when we were making progress, we resign a defender who is scared of the ball and spends more time messing with his hair and his socks than he does concentrating on the game around him.
  5. Yeah, slightly embarrassed, but it was only a friendly, and quite a few of our players clearly couldn't be arsed, while Li Tie has forgotten how to control a ball while he's been injured. But it was only a friendly, and for me the more worrying thing is that we've resigned Pistone, just when it looked like we might sign a decent left back instead.
  6. Liverpool are a bigger club than Chelsea. ←
  7. On the Chelsea/SWP thing, they don't have a right sided winger. Theyve got Duff and Robben who are natural widemen, and Cole. SWP would be decent, I think, but Joaquin would be better.
  8. Sky Sports News is saying the decision will be announced in about 10 minutes, not at 12:46pm as was first expected. EDIT: Scratch that, the decision will be around 12:46, but the procedings have laready started. 2nd Edit: Fuck, we won.
  9. Is this going to happen every year then? Gerrard be on the verge of leaving, only to then change his mind? At the press conference last year he didn't exactly sound delighted to be staying, I can't wait to see what he has to say now.
  10. Also, Paris have bid a number of times recently, and not won. This might be "their turn", although according to Sky Sports News, the IOC delegates where underwhelmed with the final presentation from Paris. It's down to Paris and London now.
  11. Raul perhaps? I know he was originally at Atletico, but he's been at Real a long time now.
  12. I never said I blame Gerrard or Rooney for leaving, just that it's not a nice feeling. This could be could good for Liverpool in the long run, maybe they can get a centre back with a bit of pace.
  13. Being an Everton fan, I might be expected to rub it in, but I won't. All I'll say to the kopites is, it's not nice when your best, home-grown player buggers off, is it?
  14. Isn't Beckham 23 at Madrid? When he joined I heard he chose that number because it was Michael Jordans, and that would somehow help his popularity in America.
  15. Ah, got ya. That is why I suck at exams, I don't read whats infront of me.
  16. Shame you'll be knocked out by the Slovakian champs in the qualifiers  Oh, I meant to ask, did you enjoy the 7-0 defeat at Highbury? ←
  17. Best Match: Tied between Everton 1-0 Liverpool and Everton 1-0 Man Utd. Worst Match: Arsenal 7-0 Everton Best moment: Either Carsley's winner in the derby, or Big Dunc's against Man Utd. Worst moment: I don't have one really, even the Arsenal and Bolton defeats weren't that bad in the scheme of things. Best player: Tim Cahill Best goal: Kilbane v Norwich Worst player: Pistone, Kilbane or Naysmith. Take your pick. All in all, the best season ever.
  18. I'd just like to say that 1), Cristiano Ronaldo is a diving little bastard, but then so is Kevin Kilbane at times, so I can't really complain, and that 2), we were fucking awesome tonight, 3) Duncan Ferguson is a god, and 4), I hope Gary Neville is locked away, I can't stand him.
  19. I had Hedgehunter each way, £2, which won me £21.50. I also had £5 on Strong Resolve at 10/1, so I'm slightly gutted, but can't complain to much.
  20. As an Everton fan, I refuse to join in with the chants of Murderers, Murderers, at the derby game. To say that Liverpool fans got us kicked out of Europe is ridiculous, and it ignores the flaws in the distribution of tickets and the condition of the stadium. Seems like even today there are people who just don't understand what actually happened. As for the racism, it's easy to say players should get on with it, but every player is different, some might not be affected, some might. And until you're in that situation, can you really understand what it feels like? I don't think you can. Racist chanting was a major problem at Goodison in the 1980's, and although it's not totally cleared up, it's a lot better than it was. Although away games still seem to be a problem, and apparantly there was an incident recently at Aston Villa on a club organised coach. If Everton can find out who was on this coach, there is no way they should be allowed to enter Goodison or anything Everton related anywhere, ever again. There really is no place for people like this in football. UEFA or FIFA should step in over Aragones. What kind of precadent does his so called punishment set? Now any similarly backwards thinking governing body can, in a similar incident, claim they were following suit.
  21. I don't see the massive problem either. People are always complaining our players play to many games, and this is a good step towards reducing that. It's either that or reduce the number of teams in the Premiership, but that isn't going to happen. The only problem I have with it is that it's not across the board. It shouldn't be one rule for one, and one for another.
  22. I've just started reading Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, and it's seriously one of my favourite books ever, after only 50 pages. This is really sad news. RIP.
