  1. Does it annoy you when people use cheating devices on their games? Or exploit glitches to gain extra things or cheat?

I don't mind cheat codes and all that when you're playing solo. Perfectly fine to do something like stick on flying cars, full wanted level and crazy pedestrians on GTA when it's just you. When you're playing online however, is when that stuff should end.

I do get pissed off when someone's hiding in a glitchy wall on Call Of Duty and shoots me in the head, or if I come up against a team full of rare shiny Pokémon in the battle tower.

    Opinions etc.

Hypocrite, you clone those same Pokémon yourself

I clone them, and distribute them, but don't use them in online play. I don't use any cheating devices to obtain them either.

  3. I can WiFi once I get this last bug in the future, and then come back to the present.

On the pictures issue. There's a 'cheat'. Your residents only understand a few words in letter form. The one of these that gets you the most 'friendship boost' is the word friend. You can only gain a certain boost per letter, so the biggest boost you can get is by sending a letter like this:

    friend friend friend friend friend

Always attach a gift of at least 100 Bells.

You can always send lots of letters and 'force' the mail, so that all your letters and replies to your letters are sent out straight away.

  4. I got maybe a third of the way through the first book after some recommendations, and just no...No. It's like a poorly written fanfic thing for goth teen girls. I don't get all the hype.

I think in later books when the vampire shit gets too boring, there's a werewolf that comes and steals Renaissor's (or whatever main chicks real name is) affections too. Even more No.

  5. I have started playing on/off again of late while waiting for City Folk. Alas, you can't trade bugs/fish with players. You can only give them to your residents and then perhaps buy them back.

(e.g. I could give a resident interested in bugs in your town a Bee, and then you could buy it from them next flea market, but it might be on of the three items they don't give away)

Is it bees that you're having trouble with or honeybees? In regards to bees (the ones that chase you) you can trick them. If you see them come out, run away and then run in a circle, then carry on running straight. The bees get confused and whirl around where you looped.

May take a few attempts but it's the easiest way to get them, without having to figure out their flight pattern (where when equipping your bug net, you see how many loops they do on your face, before they fly over your head, and then try and exit out of it at the right time to press A and capture them).

If anyone's keeping count, I still need that Giant Beetle I was missing last year, due to not playing at the right time this year.

By the way, my friend code and stuff are in the Online Thread.

So in an hour or so, it may just become July 2009 in my town for a little while so I can get that last fucking insect.

  6. Thought I'd ask this here since its about trading.. How much do you guys think I could get for all the smackdown games on ps2 besides 08 and 09 ?

Local gamestop offered me $4 for all of them. Hoping I might get a better price on ebay but I dunno what I should set the price at.

I really wouldn't hold out for much more than that for trade-ins. What do you mean by 'all of them' anyways?

  7. Do you ever trade in your old games, or do you hoard them like some geeky squirrel? Why do you trade in your games?

I don't often trade in my games, but now realising some have zero replay value (such as Hotel Dusk, Phantom Hourglass) I'm taking a fair few to trade in.

I usually go to GAME to trade in games, as the only other options close are Blockbuster and a small import shop.

  8. MLAAK is quite addictive. Belgaria (in no way stolen from David Eddings series) may be on day 59. Holidays happening every 32 days is my plan at the moment. Just built a Tavern so formed my first party of Dominic (Warrior, and the town's local hero), Victoria (Thief, and the town's local heroine), Seth (failed badly as a Warrior, so became a White Mage, still a small failure, but hoping having him involved in the party helps him) and Wyatt (Black Mage, holds his own, but sometimes fails).

Been collecting quite a variety of special medals.

  9. Another thing, has Peter forgotten about Caitlin?

Everyone's forgotten about Caitlin. She was rubbish. Though in regards to saving her, the timeline she was in (Virus Released etc.) doesn't exist anymore due to Peter destroying the virus, so I assume she doesn't either.

  10. So Crisis Core is wonderful, but I haven't a clue how the whole spinner thing works in battles. Someone explain, it seems entirely random.

I think I worked this out the other day, though I may be entirely wrong. Each change in a stat (HP, MP, AP) corresponds to a square. HP = Left, MP = Middle, AP = Right. Whenever there is a change in the values of them (You gain/lose HP/MP/AP) it stops the reels. So, when you use MP, it would stop the middle one, and when you roll or block (as they use 1 AP) it stops the one on the right.

I think that's how it works.

  11. So, all I can really remember about it, is that it was on a PC (or similar system) when I was a kid (80's - 90's). You controlled a male character and had to input commands on the keyboard, like "jump" and "stand up".

One part I can remember is where you end up on a conveyer belt, which is headed towards a grinder. Then you "stand up" and "jump" at the right time to get to safety. Below this conveyer belt area there was a spaceship, which was by a restaurant type place. After having a meal at the restaurant, if you tried to go to the spaceship, you'd see the guys (aliens?) who owned it wander off for a meal at the restaurant. They checked back on their ship occasionally, so if you tried to steal it, they'd blast you to death.

No clue beyond that I'm afraid.

  12. Things such as
The Ogier Waygates and Moiraine's apparent Aura Of Impenetrable Awesome that just so happens to extend exactly as far as needed for the plot at the time, and her ability to be able to seemingly do anything at all to make the Fades go away or not notice them, but 'only for a limited time'. Ever since Caemelyn, I can't seem to be worried for them when she's around any more, she seems to be able to solve every Fade/Dark One/Trolloc-related problem with some mysterious ward that is never actually described at all.
Don't worry. These problems almost resolve themselves as the story progresses... :P The only place I felt WoT struggled was in Winter's Heart.

About to start re-reading The Redemption Of Althalus, as soon as I finish Elephants On Acid and other Bizarre Experiments...

The Redemption Of Althalus does prompt a re-read. Had to read it three times since the first read a few years ago. Same could be said of most of Eddings books for me however.

I finished Diamond Of Darkhold recently after getting interested in the Ember series by Jeanne DuPrau. Unfortunately, I have read the first book (City Of Ember), the third book which is actually a prequel (Prophet Of Yonwood) and then the final book. I've missed out on People Of Sparks, but fully intend to read through in the correct order when Waterstone's get the last one in. The only problem I have on with these books, on reflection is: *spoilers for the series I think*

It's their intended audience of children. Unlike the Harry Potter books, the author didn't adapt at all. There are so many things that could have been much more explored. These people have never seen rain before leaving Ember, never been in the sun (so should be very pale) and they've little concept of the things outside their world. These things would have allowed for another 300 pages in each book. The hardships would have strengthened the Emberites. Meanwhile in Ember, more of the "Builder Religion" even when leaving Ember some people such as Mrs. Murdo would retain their faith.

After People Of Sparks, I will need a new fantasy series, and I'm thinking the Eragon books, unless anyone else has suggestions?
