  1. So, I've made topics similar to this before, but they've usually gotten like 2-3 answers, and then have died. I think we need an official recommendation topic. But that's just my opinion. Anyways, I've been getting a little bored with my music lately, and EWB seems to have a good taste in music. You guys have gotten me into Ben Folds, Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, Bear Vs. Shark, and countless others (with the help of topics similar to this, and Your Big Gay Face). I'm into rock mostly. And most sub-categories of rock. Some rap is decent. I'm really not into punk, though. Hardcore and post-hardcore are good. Metal is pretty good, too. As long as it's not TOO heavy. And techno is awesome, from what little I've heard, anyway. My favorite bands, according to my Facebook, are: Alexisonfire Basshunter Bear Vs. Shark Blink 182 Blue October Brand New Breaking Benjamin The Chemical Brothers Clutch Coheed And Cambria Danko Jones Dave Matthews Band Death Cab For Cutie Eric Clapton The Hold Steady Incubus Jars Of Clay Jeremy Warmsley The Jimi Hendrix Experience Led Zeppelin Local H Manic Street Preachers Metallica The National Neil Young Pearl Jam Pierce The Veil Queen Rage Against The Machine R.E.M. Rush Seether Shinedown Sigur Rós Smashing Pumpkins Soundgarden Thousand Foot Krutch Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers Van Halen Weezer The White Stripes The Who So please, recommend me some good music. Maybe more people than just me can use this topic. Thanks guys.
  2. Wow. This was INCREDIBLY unexpected. A great actor and comedian. Just wow.... RIP.
  3. Ughhh. There is absolutely NO way in hell that The Dark Knight should be listed as "The Greatest movie in the history of film". Maybe in the top 50. Maybe even in the top 20. Just not #1! Annnndd. I really enjoyed the LOTR trilogy, and believe that they should be where they are now. Toy Story should also get bumped into the top 100. Classic movie. EDIT: Fight Club, too. Fantastic movie with a great twist. I think EVERYONE should go see it.
  4. I was being fairly serious. I never said that it wasn't good, but I was just pretty disappointed. There was NO way that the movie was ever going to reach expectations for me. I was incredibly excited about it. I CAN appreciate the fact that it was good, but I'm just left with a "meh" feeling right now. Maybe because I haven't been feeling 100% lately, who knows. I might go see the film again later this week with my girlfriend, so maybe then I can really appreciate it. And I definitely wasn't looking for anything wrong with it. Like I said, maybe later I'll be able to appreciate it more, I AM sick. But oh well.
  5. I saw it tonight, and to be honest, it's nothing special. Not that it wasn't a good movie, I just can't help but be disappointed. The movie was deemed "Best of the year" by just about everyone, but I just don't think it comes close to being THAT good. I was excited as soon as I found out about Two-Face (I was hoping he would be the villain in the next Batman movie), and what happens to him is a a load of shit. And to be very honest, Ledger's portrayal as the Joker left me a little disappointed. Everything I had heard about it was praising him for it, but I can't see how. He still did good, but not GREAT. I guess I just shouldn't listen to people anymore.
  6. Was it any good? I didn't get to see it. I LOVE Rush.
  7. Sweet! I inspired something!? But yeah. I don't get the chance to see many independent horror movies, and when I do, they're not usually very good. There are a lot of Asian horrors that I really need to see, and as soon as I get a job, I'm going to buy shit loads of them. I've heard good things about The Signal, so I might check that out if the video store has it. EDIT: The remake of The Wizard Of Gore doesn't seem too bad. The more I read about it, them more I want to see it. No matter what people thought of the original, I think it's a very underrated classic.
  8. Alright, I made a similar topic a few days ago, before the great time warp. What is the most disturbing movie you've ever seen? Hopefully all of them are serious and in the horror genre, but if it's not, then go crazy. The most disturbing movie I've ever seen is "The Wizard Of Gore" (The 1970 original). I know it was cheesy and incredibly fake looking, but some scenes almost made me want to throw up. And NO movie has ever done that to me. Has anyone else seen this movie? What did you think? Oh, and how's the remake?

    Summer songs

I really enjoy metal more during the summer. Same with poppy/rappy stuff (Which I usually really hate). Like "Promiscuous Girl", I STILL love that song, but only during the spring/summer. There was also that Gwen Stefanie(sp?) song last summer(I think it was her, anyways). That was good.
  10. All that stuff sounds great, but honestly, the thing that always pisses me off every year is the roster. Not match types, not AI, and not the CAW mode. It's 2008, and we still get like 40 guys out of a roster of about 86 people. We had almost the same amount back in 2000, with Smackdown! 2 and No Mercy. Why can't they add the other 46? Like what the hell? Sure, a lot of them might be lowercard wrestlers, but they still have a place in the company, it's not like they don't exist.

  12. My friend told me that Freedom Fighters and Shadow of the Colossus are both great games. Has anyone played them and really enjoyed them? I think I played Freedom Fighters once, but that was back in 2004-ish.
  13. My mom told me that I can't have an Xbox 360 or PS3 until Christmas time (at the earliest), so I've started playing my PS2 again. I own about 40 games for it (half of them being shit), and I've beaten most of them (the ones I haven't beaten, I have no interest in beating). Recommend me some really great PS2 games that I can pick up for a cheap price, and have some fun playing. Thanks guys. The good games I own are: - Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal - Black - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Grand Theft Auto: III, Vice City, and San Andreas - Prince of Persia - God of War II - NHL '07 and '08 - SmackDown!: Shut Your Mouth to SmackDown! Vs. RAW 2008 - Indigo Prophecy - Lego Star Wars I and II - Psychonauts - Stuntman: Ignition and the first one - Fire Pro Wrestling Returns - Fight Night: Round 2 - Killzone - Timesplitters III?: Future Perfect
  14. I'm really bored, so I'm trying to find some new bands to get into. I hate punk music, rap, and all the emo crap of today. I'm into rock, classic rock, indie-rock, grunge, post-grunge, post-hardcore, and metal (and probably some others that I'm forgetting, obviously). Recently, I've started listening to these bands: - The Hold Steady - Thrice - Bear Vs. Shark - Pierce The Veil - Clutch - Dope - Velvet Revolver - Blue October (I LOVE this band) Recommend me a band, and some CD's by them that are worth listening to. I'll get them via a secret pirate bay....
  15. I've had the game since January, and I think I might've played 10 matches in all that time. I really enjoy just watching things go down, it's fantastic for when you're bored.
  16. He lived to be quite old, good for him. RIP. "From my cold, dead hands!"
  17. Every 2-3 weeks my mom goes out and gets me 2 new DVD's. Lately, I've been really into the 007 series, so that's what I've been asking for. These are the ones I own currently: - A View To A Kill (Meh, it was alright. My first Moore movie.) - You Only Live Twice (My first Connery movie, and it was so badass.) - Thunderball (Quite boring until the last hour or so, but still good.) - Tomorrow Never Dies (It was alright. Something seemed off though.) - The World Is Not Enough (My second favorite Bond movie, just fantastic.) - The Living Daylights (I know most people can't stand Dalton, but I love him. My favorite Bond movie.) - Goldeneye (Decent film, but I'd rather play the video game.) - From Russia With Love (Still haven't seen it all, I got it yesterday. From what I've seen it's decent.) - Live And Let Die (I didn't expect much, especially after I saw AVTOAK, but it was excellent.) - Die Another Day (Much better than I had heard.) So, what ones should I get next? No matter what, I think I'm going to get the collection, but I just want to know what ones I should get first. Thanks.
  18. Can anybody recommend me some songs like New Noise by Refused, I really liked it, but I'm not into the whole "Screamo" thing, so I'm not sure about similar songs. Thanks!
  19. I listen to Dave Matthews Band everyday.
  20. I've never gotten Johnny Depp. I really don't care for him. The only movies I've enjoyed him in were Edward Scissorhands and Secret Window. Seriously, how do people consider him "the greatest actor alive"?

    Gaming Music

Alright, so we've grown bored of most of the songs on my mp3 player. We still love listening to Soulja Boy and other rap songs, even though none of us are big rap fans. Also, we still love Breaking Benjamin and RATM. I need some new songs that go along well with Halo 3 on Xbox Live, because we're going to be gaming all night tonight. Thanks guys!
  22. I've never actually watched the show, but my mom's going to the mall today, and both seasons 1 and 2 are on sale for $15. Should I spend the money and get them (or just one), or should I save my money? Thanks guys.
  23. I have a question, do the MMA fights take place in the octagon or in the ring? And how do they work? Can you bust out wrestling moves(powerbombs, etc.) whenever, or are you stuck with MMA throws/take downs and stuff?
