Anyone watch Heels?

It's Stephen Amell's wrestling drama. Two brothers feuding in the ring and in real life.

I just started yesterday. I've seen two episodes. I think I like it? Weirdly reminds me of Sons of Anarchy. Second generation group of guys with their own weird rules that society doesn't really understand, with their wives and girlfriends looking in from outside?

I think it's been renewed for a second season. it's one of those shows that is definitely gonna get cancelled with no resolution at some point, but i quite like it for now.

episode two spoiler

Spoiler

incredible moment in episode two where they get in a bar fight and a woman uses a hurricanrana like it's a real thing

I watched it not too long ago. I liked it a lot more than I expected to. I've never seen Sons Of Anarchy, but I've heard that comparison a lot. My comparison was Orange Is The New Black because I was way more interested in the minor side characters than the main character(s). I hope things follow that direction and season two is about more than just the Spades.

i checked out the ratings graph for the season and it seems that people think if anything it improves as it goes, so i'm looking forward to the rest of it. I loved the cameo in episode three.

I know what you're saying about the supporting cast. I wanna know everything about these guys.

My wife and I watched the first three episodes and liked it. Then I think we both brain farted and forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me.

no worries man. it's a short season, only eight episodes i think so you're a third of the way through.

I think I got one episode left, i'm really enjoying it.

I came into it not expecting much but the drama kinda hooked me lol Dunno how far in you are but the ending to Season 1... was kinda expected? At least for me.

Spoiler

i think it was the right ending. i think it was probably too short a season for it to be telegraphed way in advance, but i'd say i knew the finish from the start of the last episode, but that kinda just speaks to how we understand wrestling i think.

having just finished it, i'd say that it was well worth a watch. Really looking forward to a season two.

The SoA comparison is something I felt right away, too.

I think everybody did a great job with it. Ratings aren't great, but it's on STARZ... and like, who even has that as a cable channel? We watched it through the CraveTV app.

I am looking forward to seeing what they can do with continuing it. Stephen Amell has a clear passion for the business, and while there are some things in there that are a little over the top or whatever, it's done for dramatic effect because it's a tv series, not a documentary. They treat the business with respect, but still show that even in modern times, it's still cool for the masses to spit on what we love.
