My favorites are Ride the Lightning and Master of the Puppets I burned myself out on the black album haven't been able to listen to it for years.

Master of Puppets. I don't even like Metallica, but I can listen to that album.

Ride the Lightning easilly tops the list for me. I can't really pick what comes in second since that varys on a day to day basis for me, but Ride the Lightning has always remained at number 1 in my book.

1) Kill 'Em All (perfection)

2) ... And Justice For All (as near to perfection as possible)

3) Ride The Lightning (barely behind justice)

4) Black Album (how to become the biggest band on the planet)

5) ReLoad (personal reasons... my first metallica album)

6) St. Anger (ok, the drum sounds are shit, but most of the songs are awesome)

7) Master Of Puppets (overrated, still rocks)

8) Load (on metallica scale, not good, but still better than 99% of the bands today)

I don't rate Garage Inc. and S&M, for they are a bit special. Like 'em both, though. Especially the second disc of Garage Inc., aka Ye Olde Kovers.
