West Coast Heavyweight Championship: Frankie Kazarian

1. Bryan Danielson

2. James Gibson

3. Kaos

4. Samoa Joe

5. Colt Cabana

News and Notes

-Frankie Kazarian successfully defended the honor of Pro Wrestling DARK last month by defeating Austin Aries in a special Coast to Coast challenge match, but went on later in the night to tarnish that victory by attacking Bryan Danielson, James Gibson and Samoa Joe after Danielson won the right to face Kazarian this month at FIRST DEFENSE.

-Austin Aries was upset after losing to Kazarian, and has requested some time this month to address the fans from inside of the ring. The ROH Champion has been granted his request, and will be at First Defense with something to say.

-The Rankings will now begin to be decided using a points system. A wrestler can earn or lose a variety of different points based on what happens. A full run down on the points system will be made available soon.

-Samoa Joe has requested a match with Bryan Danielson to prove that he is the better of the two men, but with Danielson facing Kazarian at First Defense, and Joe set to face off with James Gibson on night one of the two night event scheduled in June to crown Tag Team Champions, the match has been booked for night two of the event.

-Joe won't be missing any action this month, however, as he will take part in a Three Way Dance against Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce.

-With the tournament to crown California State Tag Team Champions coming up in just a month, the first entrants were revealed as the Ballard Brothers, who debuted at Coast to Coast and left three teams laying. DARK Officials made a decision about how the CSTT Titles would be decided next month, and that will be in a twelve team single elimination tournament. The six first round matches will take place on night one, with the semi-finals and finals taking place on night two, and the finals being a Three Way Dance for the belts.

-Joining the Ballard Brothers in the tournament will be the three teams that they took out last month (X-Foundation, Aerial Express, Bosh/Malenko) as well as eight teams yet to be determined.

-Homicide and the Havana Pitbulls continue to throw the rulebook out of the window after attacks on various wrestlers. On night two of the tag tournament in June, those three men will be on a collision course with the returning Spanky, the "New Age Punisher" B-Boy and their partner "Blitzkrieg" Jack Evans... but before we get there, Homicide will go one on one with Evans at First Defense.

-Tony Stradlin returns to DARK after successfully debuting last month in a six man tag team match. This month, Stradlin is in singles action as he takes on The Human Tornado.

Name: Bryan Danielson

Nickname: American Dragon

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 190 lbs.

Hometown: Aberdeen, Washington

Finisher: Cattle Mutilation

Theme Music: Self-Esteem by The Offspring

Previously: The American Dragon made his DARK debut at DARK Expo'05 in a losing effort in a tag team match that saw him team with James Gibson against Samoa Joe and Super Dragon. Danielson then returned two months later at Triangle Terror to team again with James Gibson, this time coming out as the victors against the Aerial Express. Later in that same evening, Danielson came to the aid of east coast worker Tristin Hayze when Samoa Joe continued to beat on the youngster even after their bout had ended. Finally, at Coast to Coast, Danielson forced Samoa Joe to tap out to the Cattle Mutilation in a Four Way Warfare match that also involved Kaos and Danielson's partner, James Gibson.

In the Future: The win in the Four Way at Coast to Coast has secured Danielson a Championship match against WCH Champion Frankie Kazarian at First Defense. He will then face Samoa Joe on night two of the California State Tag Team Championship Tournament. If Danielson wins the title from Kazarian, and Joe can maintain a spot in the Top 5 Rankings, his first defense would be against Joe.

Cabana Pulls Out

-Just days before he was scheduled to face off with Adam Pearce and Samoa Joe in a Three Way Dance, Colt Cabana has decided to work upstart promotion United States Pro Wrestling's main event in New Jersey, rather than keep his date with the company in California.

DARK Officials responded to the situation by saying that they'd welcome Colt back to the promotion in the future, but can't forsee the two sides talking about it for some time. Also, when reached for comment, Pro Wrestling DARK revealed that they have a replacement lined up for Cabana, but only gave us one hint as to who it is, and that hint being that the man has held a Championship in Combat Zone Wrestling.

First Defense

Saturday May 14

from the American Legion Hall

in Culver City, California

-First Defense started off with a one on one contest that saw The Human Tornado square off against Tony Stradlin, who impressed many last month by picking up the win for his team in the six man tag team match. Tornado kept up with Stradlin, and almost had the match in the bag after a vicious running Tornado DDT, but SUPA BADD made his way to the ring, which distracted HT long enough for Stradlin to recover, and eventually connect with a Superkick for the three count.

-Next up, the Ballard Brothers made their in ring debut with DARK by taking on one of the three teams that they attacked last month, in the X-Foundation of Joey Ryan and Scott Lost. The X-Foundation came out of the gates in control, and maintained that control for the most part, save for a few minutes after Shannon managed to hit Ryan over the head with one of their hockey sticks behind the ref's back. The Ballards then went on the attack, and scored several near-falls on Ryan until he managed to make the hot tag to Lost, who came in and cleaned house. Lost knocked Shannon out of the ring with a Superkick, and then managed to connect with the Breaking Point on Shane for the pinfall while his partner was recuperating.

-Following that great tag team match was another tag, with Hook Bomberry, Kenny King, Babbi Slymm and Tommy Williams teaming up to take on Tony Kozina, Eric Matlock and the team of Charles Mercury and Top Gun Talwar in eight man tag action. Big spot of the match saw all eight men take turns diving out of the ring, with Babbi Slymm being the last of the eight to go, and with his size, Babbi's weight was too much for the group of 7 and they all collapsed. Every man except Mercury made it back up, and the finish of the match saw Kozina connect with a Tornado DDT to Bomberry from off the shoulders of Top Gun.

-"Blitzkrieg" Jack Evans looked to gain some semblance of revenge on Homicide after the attacks that "The Notorious 187" has perpetrated in recent months, but it didn't come easy. Evans was on the defensive for most of the bout, as Homicide used his size to his advantage. Evans hit a Corkscrew Moonsault Press for a two count, but couldn't capitilize, as Homicide immediately went to work on his knee from there, even going as far as toss Evans hard, knee first, into the ringpost on the outside of the ring. Homicide managed to hit his Poetic Tope, but couldn't seem to hit the Cop Killa no matter how hard he tried. Evans continually managed to avoid the Cop Killa, and even hit a Standing Shooting Star Press after taking Homicide down with a Spinning Heel Kick, but as Homicide kicked out at two, the HAVANA PITBULLS began to make their way down to the ring. Homicide got Evans with an Ace Crusher and called for Reyes to toss him something, but the Pitbulls were attacked from behind by B-BOY and SPANKY. Homicide exited the ring to join the brawl, and the referee tossed the match out.

-After the match, as the five men brawled outside of the ring, Jack Evans hit a Springboard Double Rotation Plancha onto all five of them. The fans began a chant of "Holy Shit!" as the wrestlers fought their way to the back...but while all of this was going down, KAOS made his way out to the ring quietly and waited for the commotion to quiet down before calling out the man who attacked him last month. Kaos said that he "knew" that it was Vampiro, and that because of him, Bryan Danielson is getting his title shot tonight. Kaos then ended his rant by telling Vampiro that he'd better show up next month, because the two of them will be going at it again, and Kaos promised that this time, he's sending Vampiro packing.

-The Aerial Express got their win back on the team of Bosh and Malenko, who pulled out a big win last month in a three way that also involved the X-Foundation. This time around, Chris Bosh and Chad Malenko didn't have the interference of the Ballard Brothers to help them out, and they found out just why the Express is considered the best in the west. Bosh and Malenko continued to work well together throughout the match, but it came down to Bosh hitting Scorpio Sky with the Maximum Bosh, only to walk into a Tombstone Piledriver from Quicksilver, who was then caught with a Spinning Death Valley Driver from Malenko. Chad went to apply the Texas Cloverleaf, but as he turned it over, was caught with a Shining Wizard from Scorpio Sky, who then covered for the three count.

-"The Scrap Daddy" Adam Pearce came out with a microphone and demanded that the mystery third man in his match come out right then and there, and lay down for him just to make it easier on whoever the opponent is, and on Joe... but Samoa Joe came out and got into Pearce's face, saying that nobody ever made anything easy for him, and that he's never stood by and let someone take something that he wants... so with that, Joe and Pearce came to blows as a referee ran out from the back to start the match, and then their opponent came slowly through the curtain, revealing himself to be CHRIS HERO. All three men looked very good in this match, especially Pearce, who managed to keep the pace against his two superstar opponents. The debuting Chris Hero tok a lot of punishment in this match, as he fell victim to the Island Driver from Joe, as well as Joe's Ole Kicks and a sick Piledriver on the outside of the ring by Pearce. Even with all the damage done to Hero throughout the match, he was not the man to be defeated, as Samoa Joe forced Adam Pearce to scream "I Quit" to the Cattle Mutilation, obviously sending a sign to Bryan Danielson.

-Killswitch Engage's "The End of Heartache" hit over the PA system, and Austin Aries made his way out to the ring, sporting black dress pants and a lavender colored dress shirt. Aries spoke about his loss last month, stating that Kazarian proved to him to be a worthy champion here in DARK, but that one loss doesn't mean that Frankie is better than him, especially since it was a fluke win on Kazarian's part. Aries then said that he can accept that Frankie Kazarian beat him last month, but that he's not taking the loss laying down, as he will be coming in next month to claim the California State Tag Team Championships as his own. Aries didn't make any mention of a partner, but was very arrogant throughout his time on the microphone.

-Frankie Kazarian came out shortly after Aries had left, and had some choice words for the man that he defeated last month, saying that Aries is a punk, and getting the fans to rally behind him...that is, until he turned his attention to his opponent for the evening, Bryan Danielson, and began running him down, claiming that while Danielson is probably the best technician in the world today, he is far from being the coolest technician in the world today, and that being the best means nothingif you're not the coolest.

-Danielson opened the main event by showing Kazarian just how cool he is, by mocking Frankie's mannerisms after connecting with various moves, including Arm Drags and a Body Slam. Danielson continued to mock Kazarian until Frankie eventually got angry and retaliated with a more than obvious low blow right in front of the referee. The match then went back and forth for several minutes until Samoa Joe came out and sat down in the entrance way, which distracted Danielson and allowed Kazarian to sneak up from behind and hit a beautiful bridging German Suplex for a two count. Frankie looked right at Joe, and then after a short staredown, simply gave him the finger and went back to work on Danielson. Kazarian applied a Figure Four on the neck of Danielson, and then used the ropes to add leverage to the hold until the ref saw it and forced him to break it. The American Dragon then mounted a comeback and hit a series of stiff knee shots to the face of Kazarian that gave him a near fall. Frankie fought his way out of a Cattle Mutilation attempt, but fell victim to an Exploder Suplex. Danielson then set Frankie on the top rope, and it looked like he was going for a Suicideplex, but Kazarian fought back with rights to the head of Danielson, and both men crotched themselves on the turnbuckle. Frankie was the first to recover, and used it to his advantage, hitting a Sunset Flip Powerbomb, and then putting his feet on the ropes for the added leverage to get the three count and retain his title.

-After the match, Samoa Joe picked up his chair, and it looked like he was headed to the ring, but he turned and placed it back into the crowd from where he got it, and then left.

News and Notes

-After seeing how the Rankings played out after the first event where the new points system was put to use, WCH Champion Frankie Kazarian has agreed to defend his title on both nights of the Tag Team Tournament. With the number oneranked competitor, Samoa Joe, busy on both nights of the tournament, Kazarian will then face Tony Kozina on night one, and should he win there, defend the belt on night two against Tony Stradlin.

-A new rule has also been brought up by the DARK Championship committee, and it states that when a wrestler uses his Title shot, his points are to be taken back to 0 should he lose the match, forcing the competitors to climb the ladder again should they not make the most of a Championship opportunity.

-The 12-team tournament to crown the California State Tag Team Champions has been rounded out, with DARK regulars the X-Foundation, Ballard Brothers, Hook Bomberry/Kenny King, B-Boy/Jack Evans, Havana Pitbulls, Aerial Express, Chris Bosh/Chad Malenko and Austin Aries joined by the debuting tandems of Youthanazia, Chris Hero/Claudio Castagnoli, Angel/Lil' Cholo and El Generico/Kevin Steen.

-"The Wrestling Machine" Austin Aries has been informed by DARK Officials that he would have to bring a partner with him to participate in the Tag Team Tournament. Aries was upset that he wasn't allowed to partake on his own, but stated that it didn't matter who he teamed with, and that he'd just bring some random with him to the tournament.

-Both Homicide and Spanky have been barred from the building during the Tag Team Tournament, as each man's respective partners in their upcoming Six Man Tag in July will be taking part in the tournament itself. If either man shows up on either night of the event, they will lose the right to challenge for any title for one year.

Previously: Aries debuted at Black Hearts and Bleeding Kisses, teaming with Chad Malenko to defeat the X-Foundation in tag team action. Aries then missed a card, and returned at Coast to Coast, challenging West Coast Heavyweight Champion Frankie Kazarian in a non-title bout, which saw Kazarian defeat Aries with a Small Package. Just one month later, at First Defense, Aries spoke about his loss to Kazarian, and claimed that he would be taking the California State Tag Team Titles.

In the Future: Aries will be going into the Tag Team Tournament with a partner that he says, isn't necessary. Can the overly-arrogant Austin Aries go through eleven other teams to claim the CSTT Titles for himself?

Great diary so far Gabriel, I really like your style as you know and the points system on the rankings looks like a good idea and I'm really liking the superstar profiles as well.

I love realism in diaries and yours is just that, very realistic.

Youthanazia Out - Bring On The Chismo

-IWA Mid South promoter Ian Rotten contacted DARK Officials earlier in the week in regards to the erratic behaviour of Matt "M-Dogg" Cross. When the duo of Cross and his partner Josh Prohibition made it to California later on that day, Matt was confronted by Officials and a plea was made, and heard.

We regret to inform the fans that Youthanazia will not be taking part in the Tag Team Tournament, as Pro Wrestling DARK, IWA Mid South and many other independent promotions have offered to pay to send Matt to rehabilitation, in hopes of cleaning himself up so that he can present the best side of M-Dogg 20 that he can.

With that said, Josh Prohibition will still be in action, but only on Night Two of the event, when he competes in a Four Way Warfare match that will include Adam Pearce, James Gibson and a fourth yet-to-be-determined competitor.

The team scheduled now to replace Matt and Josh will be none other than the Original Gangsta's themselves...the LoCal from SoCal... Excalibur and Disco Machine.

OOC: For future predictions being posted for this event, you may disregard the AXP/Youthanazia match when predicting. Thank You for supporting Pro Wrestling DARK.

It's about time Disco & Excalibur were brought in, they were the only SoCal mainstays that hadn't been brought in yet. This is a really good diary, good concept to begin it and like others have said, very realistic!

Predictions:

James Gibson Vs Samoa Joe

----Joe will beat Gibson to send a message to Gibson's partner Danielson

Tony Stradlin, Supa Badd and Zokre Vs The Human Tornado, Phoenix Star and Tommy Williams

---- I see Stradlin getting the pin for his team and keeping his momentum going into his title shot on night 2

The X-Foundation Vs Generico & Steen

----You know what? I'm gonna call an upset and say Steen & Generico

Tournament Match

The Ballard Brothers Vs Angel and Lil' Cholo

Tournament Match

Bomberry & King Vs Bosh & Malenko

----Bosh & Malenko have too much momentum going right now to be stopped this early in the tourney

Tournament Match

B-Boy & Evans Vs Austin Aries and x

----Aries and his partner, who will either be Roderick Strong or Alex Shelley will win

Tournament Match

The Havana Pitbulls Vs Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli

----Since there's no way Spanky can interfere, I'll go with the Pitbulls, at least until Night 2

Tournament Match

The Aerial Express Vs Disco & Excalibur

----Hmmm, this is a tough one now, I'll say Disco & Excalibur

Singles Match

Kaos Vs Vampiro

----Kaos, just because we havent heard from Vampiro in quite a while

Tag Team Tournament Night One

Friday June 10

from the National Guard Armory

in Corona, California

-Shane and Shannon Ballard kicked off the tag team tournament in swift fashion, defeating the unlikely duo of Lil' Cholo and "The Hardcore Homo" Angel in a first round match-up. Angel and Cholo put up a fight in an effort to continue on to the next night of the tournament, but their efforts proved futile when Cholo fell victim to Double Minor for the finish.

-After the match, it looked as though Angel were upset with the loss, but the Hardcore Homo helped up his partner and gave him a hug before leaving.

-In six man tag team action, the group of Supa Badd, Zokre and Tony Stradlin faced off with the Human Tornado, Phoenix Star and Tommy Williams. All three of the faces were gunning for Stradlin, who with his title shot on Night Two, could propel them to a higher level should one of them have pinned him during the course of this match, but Stradlin would not let them take advantage of his position, and even scored a near-fall with a Fisherman's Suplex on Phoenix Star. The end of the match saw Williams catch Zokre with a Springboard Moonsault Press for the three count.

-The IWS duo of El Generico and Kevin Steen made their DARK debuts in a first round tournament match against the X-Foundation. Ryan and Lost had their hands full with the Canadian duo, both of whom seemed to enjoy playing to the crowd almost more than winning the match, and this came back to haunt them in the end, as Ryan caught Generico on the top rope playing to the fans, and then delivered a Splash Mountain Bomb from the middle turnbuckle, sending Generico onto Kevin Steen, who had been taken down by a Snap Suplex from Scott Lost. Lost covered Generico for the pinfall.

-After the match, the X-Foundation celebrated in the ring, and shook the hands of their opponents, but were interrupted as "Another Body Murdered" hit over the PA and SAMOA JOE came down to the ring. Joe grabbed a microphone and told all four of them to get out of his ring, and all complied except for El Generico, who walked right up to Joe and shook his head. The much larger Samoa Joe laughed and then asked "is Joe gonna have to choke a bitch?", which got a lot of laughs from the fans. Generico tried to grab the mic from Joe, but couldn't pull it away from him, and ended up taking it to the side of his head courtesy of Joe. Before anything else could happen though, Steen pulled Generico out of the ring and the men left. Joe then continued on, running down Bryan Danielson, and claiming that the damage he does tonight to James Gibson will just be a fraction of what he does to Danielson on Night Two.

-The Chismo was oozing on this night as The Original SoCal Gangstaz finally graced the ring of Pro Wrestling DARK with their presence. Both Excalibur and Disco Machine came out to the ring sporting the latest in G-Unit wear and bling of the highest quality (especially Machine, who wore a watermelon sized disco ball around his neck on a chain). The Gangstaz, as they have asked to be referred to as, had the crowd going nuts with their antics, forcing cuss words and similar chants out of the crowd of 300+...but the fans erupted as The Scorpions' "Alien Nation" hit and the Aerial Express made their way out to the ring. Scorpio and Quicksilver went face to face with their long time rivals before the tension exploded and all four men broke out into a brawl. Scorpio choked Disco with his chain, but felt the disco ball on the end of it when Machine swung it around and hit Sky in the face. The Gangstaz worked over Scorpio for the beginning parts of the match, but Quicksilver soon got the hot tag and hit the Silver Bullet on Machine. Both teams exchanged several near-falls leading up to the finish, where Disco Machine caught Scorpio Sky with the Disco Bomb for the win after Excalibur had hit Sky in the back of the head with Disco's chain.

-Last before intermission was the West Coast Heavyweight Championship bout. Frankie Kazarian defended his title for the third time here, as he defeated Tony Kozina in a hard fought match. The beginning of the match saw Kazarian under-estimating the threat of Kozina to his belt. The challenger hit a Suicideplex for a two-count, and followed up with a Brainbuster for another one. But despite the under-estimating of his opponent, Kazarian eventually picked up the pace when Kozina went for one-too many big moves. Kozina went for a Sky Twister Press, but Kazarian moved out of the way, sending Kozina crashing hard to the mat. Frankie connected with a Springboard Legdrop, and then applied a Side Headlock, wrenching back on the hold and screaming at Kozina, "You're Nothing!" Frankie then pulled Kozina up to his feet and rammed him head first into the top turnbuckle, then the middle one, and finally the bottom one, where he rested Kozina's head, and then leapt up and came crashing down with both of his feet onto the middle of his back. Kazarian then set Kozina up on the top rope and hit a very unnecessary Flux Capacitor for the three count and the win.

-INTERMISSION-

-First up after the intermission was another tournament match, this one seeing the Havana Pitbulls against the trainer/student team of Chris Hero and "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli. Claudio and Hero teamed well together, but couldn't match up to the experience of the Pitbulls. Romero worked over Double C's neck for a lot of the match, but Hero wouldn't allow them to put away his trainee at any point in the bout. Romero worked his way into a Mexican Surfboard Stretch, which he rolled around with a few times, adding pressure to the hold each time, but he eventually gave up on the move. Hero went on the score a two count with the Hero's Welcome, interrupted by Reyes. The Pitbulls took out Hero's knee with Leg Grapevines and attacks to the trunks of the very tall Chris Hero. The end of the bout saw the Pitbulls connect with the Cuban Execution on Castagnoli, and then covering for the victory.

-After the match was over, Chris Hero grabbed a microphone and said that he was going to put an end to his losing ways in here in DARK before it becomes a streak, and that he's going to do it tomorrow night in the Four Way Warfare match.

-The fan favorite team of Hook Bomberry and Kenny King were out next to take on the tandem of Chris Bosh and Chad Malenko in tournament action. The match went back and forth for the first minutes of the bout, until Malenko caught a Hurricanrana attempt from Bomberry and turned it into a devastating Powerbomb which changed the pace of the match. Bosh & Malenko then dominated the match until Malenko caught a second Hurricanrana attempt, but when he tried to reverse the move into another Powerbomb, Malenko ended up being locked in an Armbar by Hook, which forced him to submit and give the surprise victory to Bomberry and Kenny King.

-The fans erupted as "Kong at the Gates" played, signifying the return of Vampiro, who came out with a man wearing a long black robe and a matching black hood. Vampiro grabbed a mic and said to Kaos that the man that is with him now is the man that attacked him last month, and that he (Vampiro) had nothing to do with it, except that he gave this man the opportunity to do so. Vampiro then told Kaos that he'd better worry about their match, because it was going to be a battle.

-The Rock Superstar came running out from the back and slid into the ring. Kaos tackled the hooded man down, ignoring Vampiro, which proved to be a major mistake, as Vampiro attacked him from behind to start the match. The match didn't stay in the ring for long, as Kaos dumped Vampiro to the outside and then went after him with a Suicide Dive to the floor. Kaos then hit an Irish Whip, sending Vampiro hard into the guardrail. They kept the fight on the floor, and Kaos hit a Double Arm DDT on Vampiro, busting him open. With Vampiro down and out, Kaos decided to go after the hooded man, and almost had him in the ring, but Vampiro came flying off the top rope with a Springboard Spinning Heel Kick, knocking Kaos into the man, and the man to the outside of the ring. Kaos stumbled up and right into a Nail in the Coffin from Vampiro, which was enough to pick up the pinfall.

-After the match was over, Vampiro pulled Kaos up by his hair and kept him on his knees while the man in the ring slowly pulled off his hood to reveal GQ MONEY. Money pulled a cane from inside his robe and drove the end of it into Kaos' jaw, and then a second time into the chest. Vampiro watched and laughed as GQ put the boots to his former partner and friend, and then the two men left as Kaos lay bleeding and beaten in the ring.

-Austin Aries came out alone at first, and then introduced his partner...Halo. The fans let out a loud boo at Aries' selection, but Aries responded by flipping the fans off and telling them that he doesn't even need a partner, and that Halo won't even be involved in the match. Their opponents, Jack Evans and B-Boy made their way out next, and B-Boy briefly asked Evans who Aries' partner is, and Evans shook his head, then said "We Don't Know You", starting up a big chant directed at Halo. The match saw the team of Evans and B-Boy in control for the most part, as they were tagging in and out and keeping a fresh man in, but despite Aries' refusal to tag in his partner, he managed to hold more than his own, and came close to winning the match at several points, including one where he caught B-Boy with a Macho Neck Snap, then took out Evans on the floor, and hit a Springboard 450 Splash on B-Boy for a two count, which probably would have been a three count if Evans hadn't managed to pull Aries by his foot. Evans and B-Boy began to get the advantage, using quick tags to wear out Aries, and eventually, B-Boy even scored a very close fall with a Shining Wizard. Halo tagged himself in and went after B-Boy, but quickly fell victim to the Cross Special Brainbuster, and then a 630 from Jack Evans to end the match.

-After B-Boy and Evans had left, Austin Aries regained his composure and grabbed a mic, running down Halo and blaming him for the loss. Halo apologized, and it looked like Aries was going to shake his hand, but Aries pulled him in and then busted him open with a microphone shot to the head. Aries then told Halo to come back on Night two, because he was going to take him to school and show him "why you don't fuck with Austin Aries."

-The main event started with Samoa Joe and James Gibson slapping hands, as Joe refused to properly shake the hand of his opponent. Gibson avoided a lock-up, and took Joe down to the mat and went into an STF almost immediately after the bell rang. Joe fought his way out of the move, and when the two men were back up to a vertical base, Joe clapped towards Gibson and then attacked. The two men exchanged stiff shots, with Joe coming out on top with a huge open hand blow to Gibson's face that sent him to the mat. Joe tried for the Triangle Choke, but Gibson fought his way to the ropes and forced Joe to break the hold. The match continued for several more minutes, with Joe hitting the Ole Ole Kicks, and Gibson connecting with a big time Tornado DDT. Both men attempted many pinfalls, but it all came down to the last few minutes of the match, where Gibson escaped an attempted Muscle Buster and hit a German Suplex for a two count. Joe got up and received a Mafia Kick from Gibson, who then pulled him up and hit a Sit Down Powerbomb for another two count. Gibson went up top for something, but Joe crotched him on the ropes, and then, with Gibson hanging down, Joe hit a running boot to the back of Gibson's head, which was then followed by a Muscle Buster for the three count.

-After the match, Joe pulled Gibson up to his feet, and then dropped him to the mat with a Powerbomb, followed up by an STF. As Joe wrenched back on the move, he yelled "FUCK YOU DANIELSON!" Joe held onto the move until DARK Officials ran out and forced him to break it.

-Fans that come out to the Culver City show on July 8 will not be disappointed, as the already announced Six Man Tag of Spanky, Jack Evans and B-Boy Vs Homicide and the Havana Pitbulls has been joined by yet another huge dream match, as SUPER DRAGON will return to Pro Wrestling DARK to take on the AMERICAN DRAGON BRYAN DANIELSON in a singles bout.

-Also in Culver City, you can expect to see the duo of Vampiro and GQ Money, who will no doubt have something to say about his attack on former friend Kaos.

-In something of a surprise move, IWS star El Generico has laid out a challenge for Samoa Joe to face him one on one on 7/8. No word yet from Samoa Joe as to whether or not he will accept the challenge.
