NWA DOMINATION

December 31st 2001

The Story So Far...

In an alternate reality, the 1980's turned out a lot different. Vince McMahon's attempt to dominate the US wrestling scene were foiled when the NWA stood up to him and called his bluff. Vince ended up losing the WWF name through bankruptcy. The NWA went on to be the dominant force in wrestling, although their very strength - many different members making up a larger whole - meant that no one promotion managed to go global.

As we come into the new Millennium, things are poised interestingly. Of the major NWA affiliates, three stand at a national level, ready to try to go global. A few cult promotions are becoming more popular, and are attempting to move to a national stage. Finally, some smaller regional promotions are springing up.

The Cast... (promotions in order of estimated popularity)

NWA: Calgary Stampede - Owned by Stu Hart, NWA:CS are the only federation promoting out of Canada. Built around the best three graduates of the Hart Family Dungeon - Bret Hart, Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho - this federation relies more on straight heavily-athletic matches, and avoids gimmicks and shock angles.

NWA: East Coast - Vince McMahon returned to wrestling by joining the NWA and promoting out of New York City. The promotion is built around big draws like Hogan, Rock and the Clique, and also includes Shane and Stephanie McMahon. The rest of the roster is made up of McMahon loyalists and assorted big men.

NWA: Texas - Built on the legacy of the Von Erich's, Dusty Rhodes has taken control of NWA:TX. The promotion is a throwback to the 1980's, with much of the roster taken up by either veterans of that era, or local Texans. The major stars are Ric Flair, Steve Austin, Mark Callaway and Randy Savage.

NWA: Los Angeles - A brainchild of Roddy Piper, NWA:LA is a two-tiered promotion. Once tier has a gritty urban feel, using people like the Gangstas to deliver chaotic violence. The other tier is a result of a deal struck with some Japanese federations, where some of their top talent like Mike Barton and Michael Modest are allowed to compete.

NWA: Hardcore City - Based out of Philly, Paul Heyman's promotion is the bad boy of the NWA, always looking to use shock tactics. The roster consists entirely of Heyman loyalists like Tommy Dreamer, Taz, and Stevie Richards.

NWA: Strong Style - Al Snow decided to try something different, and started up a US promotion based more on the Japanese style of stiff blows and submission holds. With close friend Dan Severn on board, a great talent roster was assembled, with names like Ken Shamrock and AJ Styles being the cream of the crop, plus a mass of Japanese talent due to links with other federations in the Orient.

NWA: Detroit Michigan - This promotion is a no-frills federation run by Bill Watts. The action is brutal and realistic. The roster mainly consists of hard-hitting powerhouses like the Steiners and Road Warriors, but their main selling point is the presence of Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle, who are the top two stars.

NWA: Mexico City - The most popular grappler in Mexico, Konnan hung up his wrestling boots and became the promoter of the biggest promotion south of the border. Focussing almost entirely on lucha libre performers like Rey Misterio and Juvi Guerrera, NWA:MC features mostly high-flying bouts.

This looks awesome so far, as you are an excellent hardcore writer, and the roster is great. So I'll def. be reading this.

This sucks though because this truely means the end of the ECW 2001 Diary :crying:

Ah well, best of luck with this,

Guest mroniimusha

Everything looks good except for one little detail - HHH and Test are East Coast Tag Champions. The problem there being that HHH and Test hate one another, and it's suspected that Trips was responsible for Test being fired

Saw the sig, and the EC-Dub diary is only on hiatus... *cheers*

EDIT for mroniimusha- Nope, t'was to LK

Since I didnt get too familiar with your last Diary, I'm gonna read this new one of yours. I like your work with that WWF diary you did once, not sure if it was you but it featured the WWF during the early 2002.

Well good luck with this diary and good luck in destroying the competition one by one.

BRAWL FOR ALL

A NWA Hardcore City Production

LOCATION: Viking Hall, Philadelphia: Pennsylvania

DATE: 27th January 2002

**Card Subject To Change**

Double Main Event

World Heavyweight Title Match

Taz © vs. Chris Candido

At the November to Remember pay per view, Hardcore City’s last event, Taz did the impossible and went through three top-class athletes to capture the World Heavyweight Title Match. However, Taz’s backstage celebration was cut short by an eager Chris Candido. Candido asked Taz for a title match, man-to-man, and like a fighting champion; Taz accepted. The date is set, the 27th of January 2002, and the “Human Suplex Machine” will make his first title defence – but will he be a “one hit wonder”? Will we witness the crowning of a new World Heavyweight Champion in Chris Candido? Or will Taz prove why he is indeed the Hardcore City champion? One thing is for sure; these two athletes are set to steal the show!

Grudge Match

Tommy Dreamer vs. Stevie Richards

Stevie Richards is a vile son-of-a-bitch. Several months ago, he took Beulah, Dreamer’s girlfriend, and gave her a Piledriver; a move which broke her neck and put her out of commission since. Since then, Tommy Dreamer has been a man on the warpath – but Stevie ran! Stevie ran away from Dreamer at the November to Remember pay per view when he was set to face him once and for all. However, Richards will indeed be in attendance and will indeed face Dreamer – and if he doesn’t? He’s gone. Tommy Dreamer will get his hands on Richards once and for all and has the chance to gain retribution for Beulah.

I'll just predict the two matches on top...cause I aint that good in lower card matchups :(

Taz is gonna win for sure. He wont be the one hit wonder they think he will be as he will choke the living hell outta Candido. It will be his match, but I think its really gonna be one hardfought match for him aswell.

Dreamer MIGHT win so he can avenge his love. Or something like that or maybe he will win due to Raven interfering against him.

BRAWL FOR ALL!

“The National Wrestling Alliance presents … “ The Hardcore City logo appears on the screen as soon as the NWA logo disappears; then, we flicker to a montage which shows us what has been doing down at Hardcore City recently, including some old time clips, obviously sped up a tad, such as when Chris Benoit broke Sabu’s neck, prematurely ending the high-flyers career. Also, we see footage of Taz making Chris Benoit tap out and then making Raven tap out on the very same night to win the Hardcore City World Championship for the first time in his career. The montage then ends, and:

“NWA IS ABOUT TO GET .. EXXXXTREEEEMMME!”

Suddenly, we switch to a small, messy office. Then, the stubble consumed face of the baseball cap and leather jacket wearing Paul Heyman appears; Hardcore City’s “Executive Producer”. Heyman’s eyes are narrow, a look of purpose set firmly in them. Heyman stares directly into the camera and speaks.

Paul Heyman: Welcome to Hardcore City – Brawl For All! Tonight fans we have one helluva’ action packed card set for YOU, yes YOU! We have the World Heavyweight Champion Taz defending his title against “Mr No Gimmicks Needed” Chris Candido in what WILL be one hell-of-a WRESTLING match! Yes, that’s what we’re here for – WRESTLING! Hardcore City .. WRESTLING! Sure, we’ve been castrat--, erm, helped out by the NWA but we’re still standing – we’re standing prowd! And tonight, we will give you the event of a lifetime. Fuck LA, fuck East Coast and fuck Canada up their two-dimensional asses! You want what they’ve got, huh? Look no further! Don’t fall for the bullshit they spew out.

Heyman pauses for a moment before continuing.

Paul Heyman: Speaking of bullshit, we’re not gonna’ give you any of that. In fact, the Tag Team Championships were scheduled to be on the line tonight with The Pitbulls defending the gold against Taka Michinoku and Funaki, however, that will not be happening. You see, Taka and Funaki have moved up to Canada to compete in Calgary.

Heyman nods as some jeers seep in from the background.

Paul Heyman: But, light emerges from the dark; we don’t disappoint! In fact, the Tag Team championships will still be on the line. In fact, it’ll still be The Pitbulls versus Japan as we, Hardcore City, have made one hell-of-a coupe! We are prowd to announce that The Pitbulls will be defending their Tag Team championships against one of the finest teams in the orient, Gedo and Jado!

Heyman pauses for a moment.

Paul Heyman: Who else could do that, huh? Vince McMahon?! Stu Hart?! Roddy Piper?! Bill Watts?! I don’t think so. Only WE can, Hardcore City .. Join us, join the **whispering** Hardcore .. Revolution!

We then fade away from Paul E and the locker room to what is nothing more than a bingo hall. A bingo hall converted for the event, to Viking Hall in Philadelphia. The camera pans around to reveal the “Brawl For All” logo which stands printed on the ring apron, we then pan around the rabid Hardcore City fans who are looking forward to Hardcore City’s first event for almost two months. The camera then shifts focus to the ring to where we see Joey Styles standing by with our ring announcer, Joel Gertner. Styles waits while the fans quieten down, waiting for them to end the “H-C-DUB”, which stands for “Hardcore City Wrestling”. Styles nods his head and grins before beginning to speak.

Joey Styles: God almighty; would ya’ look at that? Finally, NWA: Hardcore City has returned to where it belongs – PPV! That’s right! And because it’s such of an occasion, we’re going to offer you matches which are, ya’ know, PPV calibre! In fact, all three Hardcore City titles will be on the line TONIGHT!

Joey nods with a huge grin on his face as the fans applaud.

Joey Styles: The Tag Team titles will be on the line, as Paul E informed you, as the reigning champions The Pitbulls defend their gold against two of Japans finest athletes, one of Japans finest Tag Teams in Gedo and Jado!

Joey pauses a little more before moving onto the next topic.

Joey Styles: Also, the Television Championship will be on the line as Mike Awesome, whom defeated Mikey Whipwreck at our last pay per view event ‘November To Remember’, makes his first title defence against one of our finest athletes Jerry Lynn!

And last but not least.

Joey Styles: The World Championship will be on the line! Taz, the Human Suplex Machine, the man who beat Tajiri, Chris Benoit and Raven to capture the gold at November to Remember, defends the strap against .. “Mr No Gimmicks Needed”, a former member of the Triple Threat, Chris Candido! Wow, that’s all I can say; wow! Well, let’s not further the delay and get right to the action!

Joey leaves the ring as AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” hits.

#1 For Tag Team Titles

The Dudley Boys vs. Mikey Whipwreck & Tajiri

Out from the back first are Bubba Ray and D-Von, the team collectively known as The Dudley Boys. The fans boo the Dudley’s as Bubba almost gets into a fight with one of the fans, spitting on him. The fan tries to hop the barricade but security personal are there to stop him; Bubba, like the bastard he is, taunts the fan and receives “fuck you, Bubba!” chants from the rabid Philadelphian fans. Bubba flips them off and enters the ring with D-Von. Bubba and D-Von wait in the ring as some generic techno music hits, signifying the entrance of the cruiserweight duo of Mikey Whipwreck and Yoshihiro Tajiri. The two men sprint out from the back and quickly slide into the ring to where they are met with crushing blows from perhaps the biggest Tag Team in the professional wrestling world. D-Von whips Whipwreck in the ropes; Bubba follows up with a big splash in the corner onto Mikey as D-Von takes over “beating on Tajiri” duty. Whipwreck staggers forward after the splash and his almost decapitated via a big D-Von running clothesline; Whipwreck almost flips over on impact! Bubba turns his attention to Tajiri and receives a hard kick to the side, the impact is audible. Tajiri kicks Bubba again, but this time Bubba foolishly catches Tajiri’s leg and eats a big enziguri to the side of the head from the “Japanese Buzzsaw”, as Styles proclaims him. Bubba falls through the ropes and to the outside as D-Von tries to attack Tajiri, but the Dudley is cut short as Mikey leaps onto D-Von’s back and begins to strangle him! D-Von struggles as Tajiri lines him up for a kick to the face, and connects! D-Von falls down to the mat and Whipwreck hooks the leg; …1.., kick out.

Tajiri leaps onto the middle rope and comes off with a back flip, landing on D-Von with an Asai Moonsault! Tajiri covers; ..1….2.., kick out! Bubba climbs back onto the apron and takes a dropkick to the chest from Whipwreck, which knocks him back to the outside. Whipwreck goes up onto the top rope as Bubba slowly climbs back up to his feet. Mikey then flies with a big cross body, but Bubba catches him and drops him throat-first down onto the steel barricade! Whipwreck falls back and hits the mat, clutching his neck. Bubba then sets his sights onto the ring announcers table, which is armed with a stack of paper and a botched ring bell. Bubba clears the table and drags it around towards Mikey, who slowly climbs to his feet, still clutching his throat. Bubba kicks Mikey in the gut and sets him up for a Powerbomb, but Whipwreck counters with a Hurricanrana! As this happens, in the ring D-Von kicks Tajiri in the gut and lifts him up onto his shoulder, but Tajiri slides down behind and D-Von hits the ropes. Tajiri then runs up and clotheslines D-Von over the top rope and to the outside! D-Von lands on the table, but it doesn’t break! Whipwreck climbs up onto the apron and then runs along it, before leaping off with a elbow drop onto D-Von who lays on the table, putting him right through it!

Joey Styles: Oh my GAWD! This is .. Hardcore .. City!

D-Von lays on the outside floor as Tajiri slides Bubba back into the ring, Whipwreck and Tajiri both follow. Bubba climbs to his feet and walks into a double kick to the gut from the two cruiserweights. Whipwreck then hooks Bubba’s head and sets him up for a Tornado DDT, but Bubba holds him in the air until Tajiri strikes with a leg sweep, knocking Bubba right down – Whipwreck connects with the DDT! Bubba rolls over and Whipwreck crawls over, into the cover; …1…2…, kick out! Bubba Ray, like him or not, is showing great resilience here at Brawl for Hall; we were a matter of moments away from witnessing a huge upset. Bubba slowly climbs to his feet, staggering around a little. Tajiri runs towards him but eats a clothesline which knocks him down to the mat! D-Von re-enters the ring as Mikey goes up top. Mikey leaps off the top rope with a body splash, but D-Von catches him and immediately falls back .. Bubba comes off the ropes with the neckbreaker .. DUDLEY DEATH DROP! 3D! Whipwreck bounces off the mat, he’s out of it! Bubba keeps Tajiri at bay as D-Von hooks the leg; …1…2…3! The damn Dudley’s have done it!

WINNERS: The Dudley Boyz

MATCH RATING: 73%

The Dudley’s leave the ring, soaking up the jeers and “fuck you” chants from the Hardcore City fans. Bubba just grins as D-Von shouts “Oh Testify!” loudly. The number one contenders head behind the curtain as Tajiri re-enters the ring to check on Mikey. Mikey slowly comes too clutching his neck in agony.

Joey Styles: Well, Mikey and Tajiri were unlucky to fall short; but the experience of the Dudley Boys shone through, and that’s what inevitably gave them the victory. All credit to Tajiri and Whipwreck, though. These two men had an incredible rivalry last year, and they did great to put their differences aside and then to almost pull out the victory; wow, incredible!

Suddenly we see two men slide into the ring behind Tajiri and Whipwreck.

Joey Styles: Hey! That’s Christian York and Joey Matthews, the two men who are a part of The Sandman’s ‘Anti-Hardcore Movement’!

York and Matthews attack Tajiri from behind. York whips Tajiri into the ropes, on the rebound Matthews leaps into the air and almost decapitates him with a spinning kick to the head! Tajiri rolls to the outside in agony, clutching the back of his head, as Whipwreck slowly climbs to his feet. York scoops Whipwreck up and drills him with a Piledriver in the centre of the ring! Whipwreck is out of it, these two bastards are showing no remorse for their actions, instead they just push Whipwreck under the bottom rope and out of the ring. York and Matthews stand in the ring as The Sandman walks down the ramp, wearing his usual attire with the “Enter Sandman” T-Shirt and a pair of cargo jeans, smoking a cigarette and applauding York and Matthews as the fans chant “you sold out, Sandman!” in retaliation to the former Hardcore Icons appearance. Sandman continues to applaud the rookie tag team as he enters the ring to where Matthews hands him a microphone.

The Sandman: First of all, it’s James Fullington. Second of all, shut your fuckin’ holes!

The Sandman looks around with a look of bewilderment on his face as York and Matthews stand in the background, nodding their heads.

“The Sandman”: Hardcore City is a cruel promotion. Hell, back in ECW I was a cruel bastard but I pulled through without a care in the world. I continued ta’ smash beer cans over my skull, drink beer, smoke cigarette’s and beat the livin’ hell outta’ my opponents .. and now? I regret every damn minute of it.

Sandman nods his head.

“The Sandman”: While I was taking beatings and dishing them out, I lost my family. I lost my wife Lori and my kid Tyler. I lost them to Raven. However, over time I got them back and life was peachy, but they got pissed off and left for the hills. Nowadays, I only get ta’ see my kid at weekends and I have no contact with my wife. Why? Hardcore! Hardcore ruined my life.

The fans begin to listen to the former Hardcore Icon, clinging onto his words.

“The Sandman”: This cruel business chewed me up and spat me out, pissed me out down inta’ the gutter where all the other shit goes! I lost Lori, I lost Tyler .. I lost them for THIS? What the HELL was I thinking?! I lost them to the Hardcore lifestyle of Hardcore City, I lost them to walk past all of you [points to the fans] in the crowd, drink beer with you and smoke a cigarette with you; it wasn’t worth it, NOT WORTH IT!

The Sandman pauses as the fans chant “fuck you” at him, probably just for the sake of saying “fuck you”.

“The Sandman”: Hardcore wrestling ruined my life, now I’m gonna’ ruin hardcore wrestling! I’m gonna’ chew it up and spit it out, like it did ta’ me! I’m gonna’ spit it down into the gutter, to where it belongs! Losing blood, losing my family and losing my dignity isn’t worth this shithole!

The Sandman pauses once again.

“The Sandman”: The alcohol you forced me to drink, the blood you forced me to lose; heh, it killed The Sandman. You killed The Sandman!

York and Matthews nod in agreement with their mentor as we go to a transmission which as the sole purpose of hyping “Hardcore City on PPV”.

SEGMENT RATING: 73%

Raven vs. Spike Dudley

We return to the ring to where we see the “runt of the Dudley litter” Spike on his way down to the ring. Spike slaps a few hands and converses with “Hat Guy” for a few moments before sliding under the bottom rope and posing a little for the Philadelphian crowd. As Spike does this, Joey Styles speaks about what just transpired with The Sandman and what he just said. Then, “Come as you are” by Nirvana hits and out from the back emerges Raven. Raven does the ‘crucifix pose’ at the top of the entrance way before continuing on his journey down to the squared circle. On the outside of the ring, we have ourselves a new ring announcers table. Raven climbs onto the apron as Spike waits in the corner. Raven enters the ring and drops down into the opposing corner from Spike, looking down at the mat. Suddenly, Spike runs towards the corner and goes for a dropkick, but Raven gets under the ropes and Spike hits the mat. Raven reaches into the ring and pulls little Spike under the bottom ropes and to the outside. Raven throws Spike into the barricade and drills him with a clothesline, which knocks him over and into the crowd! Raven walks around to ring side and takes a steel chair as Spike bundles himself back over the barricade. Raven throws the chair and it connects right with Spike’s face! Spike falls into the apron as Raven continues the assault.

Joey Styles: I guess Raven is frustrated over losing his big opportunity at the Hardcore City championship last month, and he’s taking it all out on little Spike Dudley!

Raven rolls Spike back into the ring before going under the ring apron. Raven retrieves a Singapore Cane and enters the ring with it. Spike climbs to his feet and walks right into a hard cane shot to the skull! Spike falls into the corner as Raven drops the cane. Raven follows up to the corner, but Spike gets his feet up and kicks Raven right in the face! Spike then grabs Raven and runs up the turnbuckle, turns around and leaps off with the Acid Drop, and connects with it in the middle of the ring! Spike goes for the cover; ..1…2, kick out. Spike lifts Raven up again and this time he sets him up for a DDT, but Raven counters via pushing Spike away and into the ropes. Spike runs back at Raven and takes a drop toe hold; Spike’s head bounces off the cane! Spike climbs back up to his feet and walks right into a Evenflow DDT from Raven! Instead of covering, Raven reaches down and picks Spike up .. and locks in the Kata Hajime! Raven mouths the words “Tap you son-of-a bitch!” and Spike does as he is told and taps out three times! Raven is obviously trying to send a message out to the Hardcore City Champion here, the man who made him (Raven) tap out to the Kata Hajime at November To Remember!

WINNER: Raven

MATCH RATING: 69%

Raven eventually releases Spike, who slumps down on the mat gasping for air as we flick back to the studio and to Joey Styles.

Joey Styles: What a night! We’ve had two EXCELLENT Pay Per View quality matches and we have, what, four more to come! Four more top QUALITY matches?! People, all three of the Hardcore City titles will be on the line, and we’ll also see the climax of the raging Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards feud, a feud which started back last year when Stevie broke Beulah’s, Tommy’s Girlfriends, neck! We’ve got that culmination of that feud still to come tonight, but now, the Pitbulls defend Hardcore City against Japan! Oh my god, what a match! Let’s go to the ring now to see what goes down!

And as Joey says, we go back to the ring to where The Pitbulls stand with their Tag Team titles over their shoulders, facing off with the smaller Gedo and Jado of Japan.

Tag Team Title Match

The Pitbulls © vs. Gedo & Jado

The Japanese superstars stare directly at the chests of their mammoth opponents. The two then look up and are knocked down to the mat via two monstrous clotheslines from The Pitbulls! Both of the Japanese superstars bounce off the mat and are dragged to their feet by the Tag Team Champions. Pitbull #1 throws Gedo into the corner and follows up with a splash, but the Japanese superstar is quick to throw his feet into the air to block The Pitbulls’ chance to strike. Pitbull #1 staggers backwards and into a roll-up from Jado, but it’s quickly broken up by Pitbull #2. The second Pitbull strikes Jado down with a clubbing blow to the back but eats a quick dropkick from Gedo; who strikes hard in retaliation to seeing his partner being beaten down. Pitbull #2 falls back into the corner, allowing Gedo the chance to follow through with a shoulder thrust into the corner. Pitbull #1 climbs to his feet and runs towards Gedo, but his cut short via a drop toe hold from Jado. Jado then climbs to his feet and connects with a spinning leg drop to the back of the head of Pitbull #1. Jado returns to his feet and then goes to work on Pitbull #2 with Gedo. Pitbull #1 lays back in the corner and suffers a double dropkick from Gedo and Jado. Gedo then pulls Pitbull #1 out of the corner and hooks him for a suplex. Gedo lifts Pitbull #1 slightly as Jado goes up top. Jado flies with a dropkick from the top, and knocks Pitbull #1 down to the mat as Gedo connects with the suplex. Gedo covers but it is immediately broken up with a double axe-handle from Pitbull #2. Jado runs towards the second Pitbull and eats a kick to the gut. Pitbull #2 then stuffs Jado’s head between his legs, lefts him up high into the air for a powerbomb but Gedo comes from behind with a chop block to the back of The Pitbulls’ legs, knocking him down to the mat. Pitbull #1 climbs to his feet and catches the incoming Jado with a big boot to the face. The Pitbull then clotheslines Gedo over the top and to the outside. Pitbull #2 returns to his feet and the two champions turn their attention to Jado, whom slowly struggles to his feet.

Joey Styles: Oh my GOD! If I was Jado, I’d get the hell outta’ the ring NOW!

Jado runs towards the duo and ducks a double clothesline. Jado hits the ropes and on the rebound he runs right into a double Chokeslam from the Hardcore City Tag Team champions! Jado bounces off the mat gripping his neck in agony as Gedo slides under the bottom rope with a steel chair in hand. Gedo throws the chair up to Pitbull #1. Gedo then goes for a “Van Daminator”, but Pitbull #2 cuts him off with a clothesline! Gedo bounces off the mat as Pitbull #1 turns and wails the advancing Jado over the head with the foreign object! Jado hits the mat hard, clutching his head due to the mammoth chair shot from The Pitbull! Meanwhile, Pitbull #2 presses Gedo over his head, walks towards the ropes and drops him over the top, through the ring announcers table!

Joey Styles: OH … MY … GOD!

Gedo lies on the outside amongst the broken shards of wood as the H-C-Dub chants begin. Jado stumbles around in the ring. Jado falls right into Pitbull #1’s grasp. Pitbull #2 joins in and goes up top. Pitbull #1 lifts Jado up onto the shoulders of the second Pitbull, steps back and watches as Pitbull #2 leaps off the top rope with the Superbomb! Pitbull #1 covers; …1…2…3!

WINNERS: The Pitbulls

MATCH RATING: 72%

Joey Styles: The Pitbulls; these two men are absolutely dominating, did you see THAT?! Did you see how they just manhandled two of Japans finest athletes? Oh my god; and just to think, we’re gonna’ see The Pitbulls and The Dudley Boys collide eventually. Damn, it’s a scary thought, but god-darnit, its exciting! Only in Hardcore City!

We flicker away from Joey Styles and his studio, to something a little more informative.

SATURDAY NIGHTS; 8PM -- AMERICA ONE!

-------------------------------------------------

We return from the “infomercial” and to Joey Styles, who stands with a gaping shocked expression on his face. Styles looks bewildered.

Joey Styles: Well, Paul Heyman did promise ya’ll a surprise, and I guess this is it! Hardcore City returns to television every Saturday Night, Prime-Time on America One! Damn, what a surpr--

Come on, step inside, and you will realize.

Tell me what you need, tell me what to be.

What's your vision?

You'll see, what do you expect of me?

I cant live that lie.

The camera immediately flickers back to the ramp and a bulky figure emerges from the back. Hair drapes over the figure’s, blowing with each breath from the singlet wearing superstar. The lights then begin to flash with navy blue strobe lights as Korn’s “Dead Bodies Everywhere” plays in the background. The man then throws his arms high into the air as his face is revealed.

Joey Styles: It’s, I can’t believe it, it’s .. RHINO! Rhino from Detroit Michigan!

Rhino, wearing a black singlet with the words “RHINO” in the middle in large red letters, storms down to the ring as the fans sing along with the song in the background. Rhino rolls into the ring and takes a microphone as the air drapes over his face. Rhino snarls as he raises the microphone to his mouth; the music cuts.

Rhino: I bet’cha wonderin’ why the FUCK I’m here, huh? **Breathing Heavily** Well I’ll tell ya’ why; I’m here ‘cause I’m sick ta’ DEATH of being SCREWED down in Detroit by Bill Watts! I’m SICK ta’ death of been held back ‘cause o’ Bill’s baby boy Erik, and Bill having guys SUCK HIS FUCKING COCK for the top spot in the company! Ya’ see .. ah .. Bill, you wanna’ give your kid the push o’ a lifetime, huh? We thought Vinnie Mac was guilty of that, didn’t we? Then we laid our eyes on you SCREWING the fuck outta’ me in favour o’ daddy’s boy! Bill Watts; fuck you! Fuck Erik Watts! And fuck DETROIT!

The fans let out a roar of approval as Rhino stampedes around the ring.

Rhino: Give Van Dam the title, give The Steiners the titles; fuck, they’ve choked on your dick long enough now, and I guess they deserve something for all the shit you’ve put ‘em through! You see old man, you tried ta’ censor me; you got me in your office, told me to keep my fuckin’ mouth shut; FUCK YOU, BILL! I don’t give a shit! If the NWA wants ta’ step in .. Ah .. LET ‘EM! Rhino looks down at the mat and speaks, pulling his hair.

Rhino: I got tired of your shit, Bill. I’m finally .. FINALLY .. off the fucking chain!

Rhino pauses a moment before continuing.

Rhino: Enough about Detroit, it means SHIT compared ta’ Hardcore City. Detroit Michigan can go fuck itself, it means SHIT! This is where its at, Hardcore .. City! A place which suits me, a place which is uncensored .. A place I like ta’ call .. HOME! Haha, this place .. It’s my new home, I’m gonna’ rip right through it like I did down in Detroit until daddy’s boy stepped up, like I did in Canada until the challenge disappeared .. and now .. I’m read to STRIKE, TO KILL, TO TAKE WHAT’S MINE .. THE TITLE! THE REAL WORLD TITLE! Who wants ta’ step up ‘n stop me?

Rhino gestures for someone to ‘come on’ with his hands.

Rhino: C’mon! I DARE YA’ .. I FUCKING DARE YA’! Rhino is in Hardcore City .. and Rhino is here to make a **Breathing heavier / whispering** major fucking impact!

Rhino throws the microphone down and then goes up to the top rope to pose as the fans continually cheer; chanting Rhino’s name in a “patriotic” moment for the Hardcore City fans. Joey Styles screams in excitement as the “Man-Beast” pounds his chest.

Television Title Match

Mike Awesome © vs. Jerry Lynn

The crowd finally recovers from the Hardcore City debut of the “Man-Beast” Rhino and are directly plunged into the deep end as our Television Champion; “The Gladiator” Mike Awesome makes his way out from the back with the Television Championship around his waist. Awesome raises the title high above his head and then steps over the top rope and into the ring. Awesome glares at the fans, points to the title and mouths the words: “Mr Hardcore City!” before handing the strap to the referee.

Joey Styles: He’s Mike Awesome; Hardcore City Television Champion, the man who destroyed Mikey Whipwreck to capture the title in his return. Once upon a time he was a part of the New Triple Threat with Chris Candido and .. Shane Douglas .. and now he’s looking to strike it lucky and hit it big with an impressive solo career, and he kicked it off in emphatic fashion by defeating the former champion Mikey Whipwreck! Will ‘The Gladiator’ be victorious tonight as he goes up against one of the most underappreciated athletes in this business, Jerry Lynn?

Awesome raises his arms high up into the air as Fear Factory’s “Scapegoat” hits, signifying the entrance of Jerry Lynn. Out from the back emerges Lynn to a decent pop from the Philadelphian crowd; who are obviously appreciative of Jerry Lynn’s work, despite the fact that Lynn hasn’t really been rewarded since his return to Hardcore City, especially after his unappreciative stint up in the East Coast early last year. Lynn then sprints down to the ring, sensing that tonight is his big opportunity. Lynn climbs to his feet and runs towards Awesome, but eats a vicious clothesline from The Gladiator! Lynn bounces off the mat clutching the back of his head. Awesome lifts him up and throws him into the corner, to where he follows up with a turnbuckle clothesline! Lynn staggers forward and wonders into a side walk slam from the big man, cover; ..1…, kick out. Awesome returns to his feet and drops the leg down onto Lynn’s throat before going for a second cover; ..1…2, Lynn kicks out again. Awesome pulls Lynn up but takes a kick to the side. Lynn then jumps into the air and connects with a “dropsault” to the chest of Awesome! Awesome staggers back into the ropes as Lynn returns to his feet. Lynn then runs towards Awesome and knocks him over the top with a clothesline! Awesome hits the mat on his way out of the ring and falls back towards the steel barricade. Lynn backs off into the ropes and uses them as a sort of launch pad, running back towards the opposing ropes and leaping over with a big splash to the outside, knocking the Television champion down! Lynn returns to his feet and pulls Awesome up. Lynn calls for a steel chair and one of the fans hands him one; Lynn then proceeds to swing and almost take Awesome’s head off with an immense chair shot to the side of the head!

Joey Styles: The sound of that chair shot echoed throughout the Hardcore City arena!

Lynn disposes of the chair and rolls Awesome back into the ring, and quickly hooks the leg; ..1…2., Awesome kicks out. Lynn goes up onto the middle buckle, poses a little and then flies with a elbow drop from the middle rope but Awesome rolls out of the way and Lynn hits the mat! Lynn returns to his feet and clutches his elbow in agony as Awesome comes off the ropes with a Big Boot, but Lynn goes under; Awesome turns and takes a toe kick to the gut, allowing Lynn to hook the neck, leap and connect with a Tornado DDT! Lynn quickly scrambles himself over Awesome, sensing that he could have the Television championship in his grasp; ..1...2…, kick out! Awesome JUST kicked out of that one! Lynn looks down at Awesome and calls for the end. Lynn pulls Awesome up, puts his head between his legs and sets The Gladiator up for the Cradle Piledriver, but Awesome drops down and counters with a massive back body drop! Lynn bounces off the mat, quickly returns to his feet and walks into a kick to the gut from Awesome. Awesome then lifts Lynn high into the air and crushes him with the Awesome Bomb! Lynn lays down flat on the mat as the big man goes up top. Awesome then flies with the Awesome Splash! A big frog splash in the centre of the ring, straight into the cover; …1…2…3! Awesome retains the Television Championship!

WINNER: Mike Awesome

MATCH RATING: 67%

The referee hands Awesome the Television Championship and after a few moments of celebration the Television Champion decides to leave with the prize. EMT’s rush down to the ring to check on Lynn, with the stretcher, but Lynn pushes them away and pounds the mat in frustration. Lynn cannot believe that he’s just lost his big chance at the Television Championship.

Joey Styles: I don’t think Jerry Lynn can believe it; he was seconds away from the victory and was unfortunate in the end. Speaking of misfortune, it looks as though Stevie Richards is gonna’ be experiencing a lot of that NEXT as he takes on the man who he has been screwing with for months on end, the Innovator of Violence Tommy Dreamer!

“Black” by Sevendust

Voices call, they call out my name, my name, my name.

Well, they say I'm different. Well I'm not the same, same.

You say you want to, ah, be like me.

Well, boy let me tell ya, you don't know what I've seen.

They say a devil lives in my soul.

I promise not to let him take control.

I'm mindin' my own business.

I ain't doin' nothin' wrong. [repeat]

Shadows follow so close behind me.

I look in the mirror; I don't like what I see.

Oh, God, can't you help me get outta here, here?

I feel like I'm livin' deep in hell.

I'm mindin' my own business.

I ain't doin' nothin' wrong. [repeat]

I said that,

I.. I'm mindin', I'm mindin' my own, own

I ain't doin' nothin' wrong. [repeat]

Nothing wrong.

The video package outline the Tommy Dreamer / Stevie Richards situation; showing Stevie kidnap Beulah, and then proceed to almost break her neck with a Piledriver just weeks later with Tommy being held down by Raven and The Dudley Boys, helplessly watching the assault. Then, Stevie goes on the run – we see clips of “Stevie around the world” and clips of Dreamer calling him out from the ring. A clip of Beulah wearing the neck brace is then shown and then one of Dreamer tending to her. A shot of the last Pay Per View is shown, where Tommy quickly gained the victory without laying a finger on Stevie, as the cowardly Richards ran for the hills. The footage fades out on a close up of both competitors as Joey Styles asks the question

“Who will walk out the victor in this heated rivalry?”

Grudge Match

Stevie Richards vs. Tommy Dreamer

“Man in a Box” by Alice in Chains plays first as the “Innovator of Violence” Tommy Dreamer makes his way out from the back with a Singapore Cane in hand. Dreamer has a look of “all business” on his face; he wants to end Stevie Richards tonight. Dreamer climbs onto the apron, pauses for a moment and then enters the ring as the fans start a chorus of “Dreamer” chants. Then, “Blackened” by Metallica fills the arena and out from the back emerges a very dark, intense looking Stevie Richards. Richards, who wears a cut pair of blue jeans and a black sleeveless t-shirt, walks down to the ring with a look of absolute intensity on his face. Dreamer gestures for Richards to come and get some and Richards complies! Richards runs down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope, into the ring. Richards quickly climbs to his feet and evades a Cane Shot, going under it. Richards then turns and eats a cane shot right to the skull! Richards falls back and hits the mat, the cane breaking on impact with Richards’ skull. Richards gets back up and takes a kick to the mid-section. Dreamer then elbows Richards in the back of the head before spinning him around and planting him with a quick Dreamer DDT in the middle of the ring! Richards bounces off the mat, but Dreamer hasn’t finished the beating! Dreamer climbs through the ropes and heads out of the ring. Dreamer goes under the apron and retrieves a table! Oh my god, Dreamer has something bad in mind for Richards! Dreamer slides the wood into the ring, but Richards is nowhere to be seen! The camera flicks up to reveal Dreamer on his way to the back, clutching his head in agony. Suddenly, The Pitbulls step out from the back and onto the ramp. Richards’ eyes widen and he immediately turns and tries to climb over the barricade, but Lance Diamond is there! Richards backs off with a look of helplessness on his face. He turns and eats a right hand from Pitbull #2! The Pitbulls then drag Richards back down to the ring as the fans chant “H-C-Dub!”

Joey Styles: The Pitbulls and Lance Diamond wanna’ see Stevie get what he deserves!

The Pitbulls throw Richards back into the ring and to Dreamer, who now has the table set up. Dreamer picks Richards up on his shoulders, and sets him up for the Dreamer Driver – but Richards escapes to the dismay of the fans, slides behind Dreamer and hits him with a low blow! Richards looks for the escape, but he sees The Pitbulls and Diamond on the outside and wisely opts not to. Richards turns back around and takes a clothesline from Dreamer as The Pitbulls and Diamond head to the back, knowing that Richards has no escape. Dreamer pulls Richards up, but takes a Superkick right to the jaw! Dreamer hits the mat and Richards quickly throws himself over Dreamer for the cover; …1…, kick out! Richards pounds the mat in frustration. He lifts Dreamer up and sets him up for a Piledriver, oh my god, the very same Piledriver that broke Beulah’s neck! Richards holds Dreamer for a bit, and then leaps down to the mat .. PILEDRIVER! Richards staggers around for a few moments before turning Dreamer over; the Innovator of Violence lays on the mat clutching his neck in agony.

Joey Styles: Damn it! Stevie could’ve broke Dreamer’s neck, like he did Beulah’s!

Richards smirks and then arrogantly covers Dreamer, its over; …1…2…3 – NO! Dreamer got the shoulder up! Dreamer just got the shoulder up! The fans roar with approval, Dreamer still has some fight in him! Richards looks around in complete and utter shock. He scoops Dreamer up and sets him up for another Piledriver, but Beulah races down to the ring, wearing a neck brace and whole! The fans begin to cheer as Beulah slides into the ring. She runs and pounds Richards in the back, forcing him to release Dreamer! Richards turns around and sets his sights on Beulah; a huge grin forms on the sadistic bastards face. Richards grabs Beulah by the hair and reels her in, but Dreamer is up! Dreamer is up! Richards turns around with a look of shock on his face and eats a huge right, a left, another right – a clothesline! The fans cheer as Dreamer unloads on Richards, Beulah escapes to the outside as Dreamer continually pulverises Richards. Dreamer lifts Richards up onto his shoulders, spins around and Dreamer Drivers him through the table! Richards is down and out! Dreamer looks around as the fans chant “H-C-Dub!” Dreamer then covers Richards as the referee and the fans unanimously count; …1…2…3!

WINNER: Tommy Dreamer

MATCH RATING: 68%

Beulah quickly enters the ring; she and Dreamer then embrace in a hug. Dreamer then turns back to Richards, who stirs on the mat and then sits up. Richards looks around and sees Dreamer, his eyes widen and Richards looks for the exit but Dreamer reaches and grabs him via the hair! Dreamer then lifts Richards, setting him up for a Piledriver … Wait a minute, wait a fucking minute …

Joey Styles: HEY! That’s Saturn?! .. And Kronus?! What the--?!

The Eliminators slide into the ring behind Dreamer. Dreamer turns around, still holding Richards .. TOTAL ELIMINATION!! Saturn and Kronus just KILLED Dreamer with the Total Elimination! What the hell are they doing here?! Why the hell are they attacking Dreamer?! Wait a minute! Raven is now in the ring; Evenflow DDT to Beulah! This is heinous! Raven, Richards and The Eliminators are all in the ring. Dreamer and Beulah are both out of it on the mat. The Eliminators pose on opposite turnbuckles as Richards sits in the corner with a sick look on his face. Raven calls for a microphone and catches it as the fans chant “Fuck you” at the entourage which has seemingly united in the ring. Raven stops in the centre of the ring as The Eliminators climb down from the top rope and take their place, along with Stevie, behind Raven.

Raven: I NEVER FORGET, DREAMER, NEVER! I’ve never forgotten the day that Beulah left me for you back in ECW! I never forgot the day that you beat me in the middle of the ring! I never forget! Beulah somehow convinced me to help your sorry ass against The Dudleys, and like the fool, I did. Beulah seduced me – and I fell for it, I decided to help you out once again .. I played you like a fiddle, Tommy! You thought I was your friend, an ally – NEVER! You weren’t Beulah’s friend when she was the fat, disgusting bitch back at summer camp! You weren’t MY friend! You and the rest of your kind isolated me! Now Tommy, I’ve isolated you! I didn’t use brawn, I used my mind!

Raven’s points to his head before continuing.

Raven: You see, I was the brain behind this! I told Stevie to END Beulah, he broke her neck! I told Stevie to take Beulah out, she humiliated him in the past and now it was time for him to gain revenge; and he did! I brought back The Eliminators after Paul Heyman and the rest of this God forsaken locker room and this cruel business neglected them; like you neglected me, the quiet kid back at summer camp! Tommy, The Eliminators came back and gained revenge! You see DREAMER, myself, Stevie Richards, Saturn and Kronus all have something in common – we all follow MY ideology and MY beliefs!

Raven looks down at Tommy, and then Beulah, smirking as he does.

Raven: Quote the Raven ..

Raven quickly stomps Beulah’s neck, that sick son-of-a bitch!

Raven: .. Nevermore!

Raven disposes of the microphone and does the pose with his arms spread-eagled as we quickly cut to Joey Styles who stands in the studio with nothing short of a disgusted look on his face; he can’t belief what he just witnessed.

SEGMENT RATING: 84%

Joey Styles: It was Raven?! Oh my GOD! I shoulda’ knew it! That vile son-of-a bitch! I should have expected it all along, ugh. And it looks as though he has acquired himself some kinda’ .. cult? Stevie Richards, Raven’s lackey – I should have knew it! The Eliminators too? Oh my GOD! Damn. I wanna’ know what’s in store next for Hardcore City after this unlikely alliance, I guess we’ll have to find out on Hardcore Revolution next Saturday Night!

Styles pauses for a moment, looking proud of the cheap plug, before moving on.

Joey Styles: We’ve witnessed so much tonight; The Dudleys are the number one contenders for the Tag Titles. The Pitbulls retained the gold against Jado of Gedo, so I guess they will be defending against The Dudleys sometime in the future. Rhino is in Hardcore City! Raven has formed an alliance with Stevie and The Eliminators, too! Damn, so much as gone down – I cannot wait until Hardcore Revolution next Saturday! Wait, we’ve still got another TOP QUALITY match to go; a match they couldn’t give to you in Canada, in LA or on the East Coast; let’s face it, they can't even carry our jock!

Styles grins.

Joey Styles: The champion, the “Human Suplex Machine” Taz versus “Mr No Gimmicks Needed” Chris Candido – World Heavyweight Title – Next!

World Title Match

“Beat Me If You Can … SAH-VIIIVE … SAH-VIIIVE … SAH-VIIIVE .. If I let’chu!” rattles through the arena as it is plunged into a red glow. Out from the back emerges the “Human Suplex Machine” Taz with the World Heavyweight title around his waist; Taz will be making his first title defence tonight against Chris Candido. Taz walks down the ramp, but is suddenly ambushed by Chris Candido from behind! Damn, that was cheap! The arena returns to its normal state and the music cuts as Candido beats away on Taz on the ramp! Candido hits Taz with a club to the back, knocking the champion down to his knees. Candido then follows up with a knee to Taz’s face. Taz gets back up, though, and hits Candido with a right of his own before throwing him into the barricade! Candido moans in agony, clutching his back. Taz then picks the World title up and heads back down to the ring as Candido staggers around on the ramp, eventually following Taz to the squared circle. Taz drops the title and takes Candido down with a short-arm clothesline on the outside. Candido hits the concrete floor as Taz goes under the bottom rope and into the ring. After a few moments, Candido follows. Candido swings at Taz with a clothesline, but the “Human Suplex Machine” ducks under it and catches Candido from behind and connects with a German Suplex in the centre of the ring, folding Candido up!

Joey Styles: What a Release German Suplex there from Taz!

Taz pulls Candido up and whips him into the corner, to where he follows up with a turnbuckle clothesline. Candido staggers forward and walks into a Belly to Belly Suplex from Taz! Taz is sure taking it to the challenger! Taz crawls over Candido, into a pinning position; ..1…2, kick out. Taz lifts Candido up and backs him off into the corner. Taz drags Candido out of the corner and floors him with a short-armed clothesline! Candido hits the mat and Taz drops the knee onto Candido’s throat. Candido rolls around the mat, gagging for air, struggling to reach a breath. Candido climbs off the mat and wonders into Taz, who sets Candido up for a T-Bone Taz-Plex, but Candido escapes with a knee to Taz’s mid-section. Taz doubles over and Candido plants him with a quick DDT; ..1…, powerful kick out from the champion! Candido picks Taz up and throws him into the corner and follows up with a turnbuckle clothesline. Taz staggers out from the corner and takes a toe kick to the gut. Taz doubles over allowing Candido to take him down with another quick DDT! Taz rolls over as Candido calls for the end; taking Taz a little too lightly, displaying his evident arrogance. Candido goes up onto the top rope and spreads his arms before leaping with a flying Headbutt! NO! Taz rolls out of the way and Candido hits the mat face first!

Joey Styles: Taz is up! Oh my god, Taz is up!

Taz climbs to his feet behind Candido. Candido stands up, clutching his face and finds himself locked in the Tazmission! Candido gags for air, trying not to tap, but he’s slipping away! Wait! HE TAPS! Candido taps out to the Tazmission! Taz retains the World Championship!

WINNER: Taz

MATCH RATING: 76%

Taz turns around, still holding Candido in the Tazmission, and plants him with a big Taz-Plex! Candido lays in a crumpled heap as a chorus of “Taz fucked you up!” chants break out. The referee hands Taz the World Championship, he turns .. Spinning Kick to the face! What the hell?!

Joey Styles: It’s SABU!
