Well...I had to get rid of my Astros game where i was 1-3 because after I played a game...it went straight back to the start menu rather then the little pitchers and stats thing. So then it didn't save anything...I don't know why it did this...but I just deleted the season.

I started a Fantasy Draft season with Dynasty Mode...with Boston and my team is stacked. A-Rod....Vladdy...Lowe...Lidge...Wagner...and those are just some of the top of my head.

Has anyone here played a long time in a Fantasy Draft?

Sorry to bring back a topic, but it's not really worth making another one. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips for hitting? I basically get struck out on the first three pitches because I can't tell when to leave it. Or maybe I'm swinging wrong, I'm not sure. But I've not played a baseball game since the days of the Megadrive when it was basically direction + c = hit.

Any advice on which pitches go well together would be nice too, so far I just try and mix it up a lot, and that seems to work, but it'd be nice to come up with some sort of strategy.

Hitting tips:

Take the first three pitches. 98% of the time at least one of them will be outside, so you don't have to worry about striking out. Of course, the better the hitter you have at the plate, the more likely you are to see a 3-0 or a 2-1 count, as opposed to a 1-2 count.

Don't try to aim the ball. I've found that just swinging the bat does an OK job of hitting. Eventually you will have to try uppercut swings, or even ground ball swings, but you'll do better early on if you just let the ball go where it wants, as opposed to trying to direct it. Directing it correctly can be the difference between a HR or a single off the wall; directing it incorrectly can be the difference between the single off the wall or the weak groundout to first.

I only ever play in the playoffs. I'm doing Owner Mode with the cubbies. I am honestly more interested in making my stadium awesome than anything. I did a Fantasy Draft and then traded most of my awesome older Superstars for awesome younger and cheaper guys. I have won 2 World series in 4 years and my stadium now packs in 33,000 rabid cub fans a game! :D

Sorry to double post, but you guys gotta help me. I just can;t get the hang of hitting. At all. I'm playing on pro, because on easy, I'd be winning 12-0, 11-1, stuff like that, every game. You'd think practicing hitting on easy would help, but on easy, I just hit X on a random pitch and boom, triple. Or a double at least. I've tried taking advice on GameFAQs and practicing the hitting minigame, but I can;t seem to translate that well enough to the real game. I've improved a bit on the patience thing, and taking more pitches rather than jsut wildly swinging, but I'll either send it fould every time, or pop it up so it's way too easy to catch me out. I can;t seem to find a middle ground :(

EDIT: And even if I do get a guy on base, like I just, you can guarantee with the next batter I'll hit a shortass ground ball to shortstop and give up a double play. ARGH.

If you're getting a lot of outside-the-zone pitches, make sure you change the CPU Pitch Ball Rate, or whatever it's called. Seriously, on All-star they'll throw 4 straight balls, not even close to the strike zone...to Victor Diaz. Cruise one down the middle to Beltran, go high and inside on Piazza, but Diaz gets a free pass...

Although I'm not one for hitting advice; 30 Ks in 2 games against Houston. But they have nasty pitching!
