Cough! V is shit! Its a well known fact, even if they have got Oasis.

I went in 2001 as my first festy, and after following it with a Leeds and a T in the Park, it is frankly bad.

American Headcharge are the latest act confirmed for Download Festival, which takes place on 10th, 11th & 12th June, at Donington Park, Leicestershire.

They'll be playing in honour of guitarist Bryan Ottoson, who was found dead in his tour bus bunk on Tuesday 19 April from a suspected prescription drug overdose.

The band made the following statement: "Bryan was a vital member of our group and a key songwriter on The Feeding. It is our intention to honor his memory by re-joining Mudvayne, one of Bryan's favorite bands, on the current tour. Words cannot convey the depth of our sadness, but we want our fans to be able to hear the music Bryan loved so much. He'd be pissed if we didn't continue on."

The official Isle of Wight Festival website is saying that the festival is sold out, but there's actually still some tickets available - as long as you're quick!

Tickets are still available from Ticketmaster for the Friday, the Saturday (£35 for either day) and for the weekend (both camping at £90 and non-camping at £75)

God I would'nt wish Embrace on anybody. That band is on a continual quest to write an awesome epic, it will never happen (that's even counting the song Chris Martin wrote) and in the meantime they will send the Americans to sleep with there medicore middle of the road cack. There are many bands who can write epics, The Smashing Pumpkins for a start.

More acts have been confirmed for Download Festival, which takes place on 10th, 11th & 12th June, at Donington Park, Leicestershire.

On the Sunday afternoon on the Napster Third Stage, they'll be the Roadrunner Roadrage Tour, featuring Trivium, 3 Inches Of Blood, and Still Remains. Earlier, at 10am, Henry Rollins will be giving a spoken word show, discussing love, life, music, and anything else.

Also newly announced is the after-hours Campsite Entertainment Zone, which has a café, beer stall, funfair rides, various shops, and a cinema screening a number of kung fu and action movies, including the first UK screening of forthcoming film House Of Wax. This area will be open until 2am from Friday to Sunday.

Campers are being asked to help keep the site clean and green. Every weekend camping ticket holder will be allocated a Download Dirt Bag on arrival at the festival. For every two bags of litter, one bag of empty cans and one bag of plastic bottles that are collected, there's a a FREE CAN OF BEER! This sounds a pretty good deal for tidying up after yourselves - what you should be doing anyway!

Embrace aren't aiming for a Smashing Pumpkins style epic though, only a big singalong anthem, something they haven't done to great effect since The Good Will Out. Live though, theres just something special about Embrace that I can't explain. And this is from a seasoned gig-goer, some of those Embrace moments are unforgettable. Some of the more mediocre songs can be lifted to amazing effect, notably some forgettable album tracks like Many Will Learn. Just trust me, give it a go if they're whipping by.

KYLIE MINOGUE has cancelled her appearance at GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL, NME.COM can reveal.

The singer announced this morning that a forthcoming Australian tour, due to start this month, will not go ahead while she receives treatment for breast cancer.

Now, a spokesperson for the singer in the UK has told NME.COM that Glastonbury is also off.

A statement reads: “Kylie Minogue has had to pull out of her headlining appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival due to ill health. This follows the confirmation early this morning that she has been diagnosed with early breast cancer and that she will undergo immediate treatment. Consequently, her Australian tour, which was due to open in Sydney this Thursday, May 19, will not be able to proceed as planned.

Kylie said today; "I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl tour to Australia and to Glastonbury, and am sorry to have to disappoint my fans. Nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I'll be back with you all again soon".

Glastonbury Festival organisers said in a statement: "Glastonbury Festival was saddened to hear the news that Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer...our thoughts are with Kylie at this very difficult time."

Kylie's sister Dannii has also spoken out about the news. In a statement, she said: “The news is very upsetting. Although as the cancer has been diagnosed at such an early stage we are all very optimistic that everything will be OK. We’re all very thankful for the endless messages of love and support Kylie has been receiving – I know all your kind thoughts will mean the world to her as she gets better.”

A statement issued to the Australian media reads: "Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week, prior to her Australian Showgirl tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She will undergo immediate treatment and consequently her Australian tour will not be able to proceed as planned."

The tour was due to visit:

Sydney Superdome (May 19-21)

Melbourne Rod Laver Arena (23-25, 27-29)

Sydney Entertainment Centre (31, June 1-2)
