Good show Rocksy. The Brock bit was really well done in my eyes and I don't understand why you disliked it but most people will agree with me that it was well written and realistic!

Also I'm liking the Charlie Haas, Shelton Benjamin thing with Rhyno and Benoit and it's odd to see how you're keeping Grenier doing the refereeing jobs, quite nice!

A-Train, Big Show, The Undertaker and Nathan Jones, that just seems like the "shit wrestler hang out" or something, they don't seem to be there to do anything just to do something at least.

Spanky getting the win was a surprise and the attack afterwards was inevitable but showed off "rookie mistakes" quite well, whether that was intentional or not is another matter but it came off like that.

It was a pretty average to good SmackDown! show, nothing special other than Brock attacking Steph and Vince putting himself in charge. I'm not complaining that it wasn't littered with ***** matches because that's not the point and you're doing well at furthering the feuds.

Well done Rocksy and keep up the hard work!

Final Step on the Road to Backlash

WWE RAW Preview

4/21/2003

Last week on RAW Eric Bischoff made a huge six-man tag team Main Event, pitting the team of Chris Jericho, The Rock and Triple H up against Goldberg, Booker T and “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. However, Y2J walked out on his team at the end of the match leaving Triple H to get Speared and Jackhammered by Goldberg, much to the crowd’s delight. Jericho had said earlier in the evening that he was coming after The Game’s Title, and wouldn’t let anybody stand in his way. How will HHH react to last week’s events, and will Jericho get his title shot?

RAW also saw Christian ask Eric Bischoff to bring the Intercontinental Title back to RAW, and make him the champion! However, the RAW GM was having none of it and instead made a four-way match for Backlash; involving Christian, Scott Steiner, Test and Jeff Hardy. At first glance it seemed as if Test and Steiner would have the advantage in this match as they would be able to work together. However, straight after the match was announced Test and Steiner were at each others throats, much to the disappointment of Stacy Keibler. In an attempt for the two to put aside their difference, they have been given a match against the Three Minute Warning on RAW! Can Steiner and Test put their differences aside?

The Rock and Goldberg are scheduled to face each other next Sunday at Backlash. However, as shown by the past couple of weeks on RAW the two have been unable to avoid confrontation – and with both men scheduled to be at RAW on Monday Night it seems inevitable that the two will end up in the same ring as one another.

Tune into RAW for all the build up to Backlash!

WWE RAW Results

4/21/2003

Live from Atlanta, Georgia

RAW opens up without any pyro display, video or fanfare, and instead we go ERIC BISCHOFF, who is standing in the ring with the World Heavyweight Title. Bischoff says that last night at a House Show, the World Champion Triple H ripped his bicep and would not be able to compete at Backlash – or at any WWE event for at least 7 months. He then asked for the footage to be aired on the TitanTron. The footage was aired and showed Triple H and Booker T locking up in the ring, before Booker throws HHH to the outside. It immediately seems like something is wrong as The Game signals to the referee, who quickly tends to Hunter. Officials are soon on the scene and strap HHH to a stretcher, before carrying him to the back. Back on RAW, Bischoff says that later on tonight he’ll reveal just what he plans to do now that RAW’s champion is on the shelf.

In the first match of the night, RAW’s resident superhero THE HURRICANE defeated STEVEN RICHARDS in singles action. Richards, who was accompanied by Victoria to the ring, took control of the match early on, after managing to avoid a Clothesline from The Hurricane before retaliating with a big forearm to the head. Hurricane barely got any offence in right until the end of the match as Richards went for the Steve Kick, only for Hurricane to avoid the move and then hit the Hurri-Chokeslam for the one-two-three.

Following RAW’s opening match, “Y2J” CHRIS JERICHO made his way down to the ring for this week’s edition of the Hi-Lite Reel. Jericho said that what happened to Triple H was a turning point for the WWE. He asked us to turn our attention to the “Hideously Expensive Jeri-Tron 5000”, as the clip of Triple H ripping his bicep at a ‘house show’ was played. Once the clip ended Jericho demanded that Eric Bischoff made him the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, because there was nobody more deserving on the entire RAW roster. However, it wasn’t Bischoff’s music that began to play, as RIC FLAIR’S familiar tune caused the fans to “Whoo!” in unison, as “The Nature Boy” made his way down to the ring. Flair called Jericho a “punk” who couldn’t even hold a candle to The Game. Jericho begged to differ as he said that he was the first Undisputed Champion – something that Ric Flair has never accomplished. Ric listed all of his accomplishments much to Jericho’s disgust, and eventually pushed Y2J over the edge causing him to snap! Jericho flew at Flair and began pummelling away at his forehead, busting Flair wide open. Jericho then threw Flair headfirst into the Jeri-Tron before applying the Walls of Jericho, and Flair immediately began to tap. Jericho refused the break the hold and eventually WWE officials came down to the ring to stop the assault, but Flair had already passed out from the pain. Jericho was lead to the back with a beaming, slightly psychotic smile on his face as Flair was checked on by paramedics.

In the second match of the night, Harvard Graduate CHRISTOPHER NOWINSKI took on TOMMY DREAMER under hardcore rules. Dreamer came out with a trash can full of weapons, before Nowinski made his way down to the ring. Nowinski entered the ring and charged Dreamer, but was cut off with a shot from a ‘STOP’ sign from Tommy. Dreamer’s experience in these types of matches was obvious to everyone, as he dismantled Nowinski with his wide variety of hardcore plunder. However, the match spilled to the outside where Nowinski managed to reverse an Irish Whip and send Tommy into a turnbuckle post, allowing the Harvard Graduate to take over. Once they were back in the ring Nowinski used Dreamer’s Kendo Stick against him, flattening Tommy with 11 hard shots to the head. Nowinski then nailed a Twisting Underhook Suplex known as The Honor Role before getting the 1-2-3 for the win.

As Nowinski celebrated his victory we were taken to the backstage area, where SCOTT STEINER was shown talking to STACY KEIBLER. Steiner told Stacy that at Backlash, he’d be going all out to win the Intercontinental Title – and it didn’t matter if he had to beat Test. Stacy said that she understood where he was coming from, but asked him to “be the bigger man” and team up with Test tonight. Scotty reluctantly agreed which brought a smile to Stacy’s face, before the scene faded out.

We returned from a commercial break to see 3 MINUTE WARNING already in the ring, ready for their tag team match with Scott Steiner and Test. The sound of Steiner’s siren filled the arena, and out came Big Poppa Pump – with Stacy at his side. Test’s music played next, and he looked extremely unhappy to see Stacy standing with Steiner in the ring. The bell rang as Test began to argue with his Stacy and Steiner, but the two were quickly rushed by Rosey and Jamal. This led to Stacy getting Clothesline by Jamal before rolling to the outside, prompting “Big Poppa Pump” to go outside and check on her. This left Test at the mercy of the 3 Minute Warning, as the two double-teamed Test. The referee eventually gained control but Rosey and Jamal were firmly in control, as they isolated Test away from his partner. By this point Stacy had disappeared to the back, and when Test managed to tag in his partner Scott cleaned house. He took both members of 3MW with stiff Clotheslines, before somehow nailing Rosey with a belly-to-belly suplex. Steiner then got to his feet and turned around, when he was suddenly taken down with a Big Boot from Test! Test looked down at Steiner and then spat on him, before sliding out of the ring and walking up the ramp. As he disappeared through the curtain Rosey and Jamal re-gathered themselves and lifted Steiner to his feet, before Jamal climbed to the top rope. Rosey then sent Steiner into the ropes before hitting a Samoan Drop, and Jamal connected with a Splash from the Top Rope! The referee made the academic three count, and 3 Minute Warning celebrated over Steiner.

THE ROCK was shown backstage standing by with a new interviewer, Mark Jett. Jett tried to ask Rocky whether he was confident heading into Backlash, but The Rock interrupted him. He belted off the “Finally…” line, before “letting everyone know” that this Sunday at Backlash, it’s gonna be The Rock walking tall. He said that two weeks ago Goldberg may have caught him by surprise, but at Backlash the two will be face to face. He says that when that happens, then Goldberg better be ready for the beating of a lifetime – If Ya Smell… What The Rock is Cookin’.

In the final match of the night CHRISTIAN took on BOOKER T, as the former prepared for his Intercontinental Title match at Backlash. Before the match Christian got on the mic and asked Eric Bischoff to make him champion, but instead of getting the RAW GM he was interrupted by Booker T. The match started quickly with the two exchanging blows before it spilled to the outside following a Clothesline from Christian. Booker was sent into the steel steps before being rolled back into the ring. Christian went for the early cover but Booker kicked out with relative ease, but couldn’t get to his feet quick enough to prevent a barrage of kicks from Christian. The match continued in much the same pattern, with Christian grounding Booker and then attempting to keep him there. Booker caught his second wind late on and mounted a spirited fightback, and ended up hitting the Book-End on Christian! It looked like it was over, but Christian managed to break up the cover by putting his foot on the bottom rope. Booker then signalled for the Scissors Kick as Christian got to his feet, but as Booker bounced off the ropes Christian hotshotted him onto the top rope, before rolling him up with a handful of tights for the one-two-three! Christian quickly rolled out of the ring, but Booker wasn’t too far behind as he chased him up the ramp! Unfortunately for Booker it seemed that Christian had a plan, as Booker was levelled with a sickening chairshot just as he ran through the curtain. Christian then emerged with the dented chair in his hand, proclaiming that he would win the Intercontinental Title at Backlash.

RAW GM Eric Bischoff then made his way to the ring for the second time tonight, and was once again carrying the World Heavyweight Title. He got a microphone and said that he was going to be honest – Triple H’s injury put him in a bind. He was all ready to sign the Backlash Main Event – Triple H would defend his title against Chris Jericho. However, when he heard about Hunter’s injury he was left without a Main Event, but he was Eric Bischoff. He sat down, and he worked out a Main Event that would be just as big as Triple H versus Chris Jericho. So, without further ado, in a rematch from WrestleMania, the main event for Backlash will be… CHRIS JERICHO VERSUS SHAWN MICHAELS! The fans cheered loudly at the announcement, but that wasn’t all. Because of all the hatred between to two, because of all the bad blood, the match would be settled INSIDE A STEEL CAGE!

The fans were cheering loudly by this point, but they were soon booing as Chris Jericho’s countdown began to play before “Y2J” made his way down the ramp. Jericho looked extremely angry as he got into the ring, and got right into the face of Bischoff. Jericho said that he was fed up of being “jerked around by the WWE.” Everybody in the arena knew that he was the only one of wearing that title, and Bischoff should cancel the Backlash match. He shouldn’t have to step into a cage with a has-been like Shawn Michaels just to prove that he’s deserving of the title. Jericho was about to carry on with his tirade, but he was cut off by the music of Shawn Michaels filling the arena! Jericho turned his attentions towards the ramp and waited for Michaels… but nothing. Eventually the music faded out and HBK was still nowhere to be seen, and Jericho turned back to Bischoff only to get nailed with a Superkick from HBK! Michaels had come through the crowd and nailed Jericho with some Sweet Chin Music! As RAW went off the air Michaels posed over Jericho and made the belt motion around his waist, saying that this Sunday he would win the World Championship!

Anarchy Rules

WWE SmackDown! Preview

4/24/2003

After Brock Lesnar F5’d Stephanie McMahon last week, the only person left on SmackDown! in a position of power is the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon – and as we saw last week, he isn’t afraid to use his power for his own personal gain.

One match that has already been signed for this week is a ten-man Battle Royal to determine the #1 Contender to Brock Lesnar’s Heavyweight Title. With Kurt Angle out injured, Brock has been left without an opponent for Backlash and Mr. McMahon has decided to give SmackDown! superstars the chance to face Brock at Backlash.

The finals of the Cruiserweight #1 Contenders Tournament are also scheduled to take place on SmackDown! However, an assault from Jamie Noble after their match last week left Spanky needing medical attention, and it’s questionable whether he’ll be able to face Chavo Guerrero for the chance to face Matt Hardy on Sunday.

Chris Benoit and Rhyno will surely be looking to get some revenge against Vince McMahon and his cronies after their assault last week, but with Mr. McMahon in charge it’s surely going to be easier said than done. Can the Rabid Wolverine and the Man-Beast get their hands on Team Angle, or will they be thwarted again?

All this and more on the final SmackDown! before Backlash!

Urgh, I don't like the HBK/Jericho rematch, I much preferred the ideas we mulled over on MSN, but it's your diary and hopefully you know what you're doing. Flair certainly needs more of a role after his ring time with Y2J. Now hurry and fill me on the goodness :P
