I too thought it was Billy Gunn. Glad it wont be though. Makes it a suprise. Im a bit dissapointed that you couldnt find anything for the Briscoe Brothers. I think they could have fit in well with your current division.

WCW THUNDER

Wednesday , May 10th, 2005

<=:=><=:=>Intro and Pyro<=:=><=:=>

Meltzer: "Hello everyone and welcome to another explosive episode of WCW Thunder! What a main event we have in store for you tonight, Chris Jericho is going to be defending the world heavyweight title against...Chavo Guerrero!"

Heenan: "Let me just say right now, by the end of the night, we'll have a NEW WCW Heavyweight Champion!

1. PAUL BIRCHALL VS STEVIE RICHARDS

Richards makes his way out to the ring first to a pretty much dead crowd. Birchall's music hits and Richards know's he's in for a long night as the monster makes his way to the ring. Upon entering the ring, Richards immediately clubs away on the chest of Birchall, but it doesn't even phase him, as he simply looks at Richards before delivering a huge headbutt that sends Richards reeling backwards. Birchall connects on a thunderous clothesline that takes Richards inside out. Birchall shoots Richards into the ropes and then presses him over his head. Birchall slams Richards to the ground and Richards grabs his back in pain. Birchall picks up Richards and slams him into the corner and delivers shoulder blocks right to the sternum of Richards. Stevie falls to the ground, lifeless. Birchall laughs as he picks him up, and sets him up for the C4!!!! Birchall connects on the C4 and goes for the pin, but pulls his shoulders off the mat after the ref gets to two. Birchall does this a couple more times, the ref getting 2 counts each time. Birchall picks up Richards and puts him on his shoulders and connects with the rolling samoan crash and a standing shooting star press for the victory in another dominant performance out of Birchall.

WINNER: Paul Birchall

2. A Boy...in the girls locker room!?

Backstage, we see Kidman snooping around backstage. He enters the women's lockerroom, and peaks around the corner, but no one is there. Water can be heard running behind another wall. Someone in the shower, it's probably Torrie. Torrie can be heard laughing, as if there's someone else in the shower with her. Kidman listens in as he hears Torrie giggling and then he hears her laughter turn to moans. Kidman storms out of the locker room angry, knowing that whoever Torrie's new man is is probably in the shower with her.

3. HOMICIDE/Elix Skipper vs America's Most Wanted©, Tag Team Title match

Homicide and Skipper come out to a decent response from the crowd. AMW come out with Miss Stacy at their side and get a bit of heat from the crowd. Skipper and Harris start this one out, Skipper getting the upperhand with a couple arm drags and a hammerlock. Harris scores on an elbow and hits the ropes, Skipper with a spinning heel kick, but Harris ducks, Harris comes back with a clothesline, but misses and Skipper scores on a dropkick that sends Harris to the outside. AMW regroup and Harris makes the tag to Storm, who comes in and immediately gets hiptossed. Bodyslam by skipper and he scores on a legdrop, but only gets two. Skipper sends Storm into the corner and calls for New School. He rings the arm and begans walking the ropes, but Harris wiggles the ropes and Skipper gets crotched on the top rope. Storm in control now and shoots Skipper into the ropes and connects on a spinebuster before tagging in Harris, who connects on a couple elbow drops and makes a cover but only gets two. Skipper fights out of a headlock with elbows to the gut. Skipper hits the ropes, but Harris comes charging back with a huge running knee to the gut. Harris tries for vertical suplex, but Skipper breaks free and makes the tag to Homicide.

Homicide comes in like a one man wrecking crew, delivering clotheslines to both members of AMW before throwing Storm out of the ring. Homicide connects on a huge ace crusher on Harris and hits the ropes before diving out of the ring onto Storm with a Tope' conHilo. Skipper hits the ring and connects on a springboard legdrop on Harris. Homicide back in the ring now and makes the cover, but only gets a two. Homicide shoots Harris into the ropes, but Harris comes back and connects on the spear. WIth both men down in the ring, they slowly get to their corners, tag made to storm and tag made to Skipper. Skipper ducks the clothesline and connects on a couple chops to the chest of Storm. Skipper with an irish whip, Storm reverses, Skipper comes back with a flying wheel kick! Skipper calls for the Instant replay, but he's attacked from behind by Harris. Homicide comes in attacks Harris, and the two go to the outside brawling. Storm kicks Skipper in the stomach in the ring and shoots him into the corner. Skipper gets a boot up as Storm came charging, and goes for a tornado DDT, but Storm reverses positions with him after a couple huge uppercuts. Storm connects on the inverted Tornado DDT and makes the cover, but Homicide can't make the save as Harris holds his leg, and Storm gets the 1-2-3 victory over Skipper. After the match, the tag champs took their belts and immediately started walking up the ramp, barely escaping this one with their belts.

WINNERS: AMERICA'S MOST WANTED

4. Chavo's ready for action.

Backstage, we see Eddie and Chavo hanging out backstage. Chavo is lacing up his boot's for his big match. Chavo says that tonight is the night, the night that he'll step out of Eddie's shadow and become the best WCW has to offer. Eddie supplements his ego by telling him that he practically see's the heavyweight title around Chavo's waist. Chavo says that after he wins the heavyweight title, he's going to hold a family get together, so everyone can see the biggest piece of gold in Guerrero history. Eddie says that it'll be great to see all the cousins and uncles again, and can't wait for the reunion. Eddie is obviously not taking Chavo very serious, while Chavo is dead serious. Chavo asks Eddie how he looks, and Eddie tells him "Like a champion waiting to happen!". Chavo tells Eddie thanks and walks out of the locker room. Eddie bursts into laughter. "Chavo as heavyweight champion..no way amigo, not in a million gazillion years" Eddie says to himself.

5. He's at it again

We see Matt Hardy and Maria Hardy-Kanellis (she's keeping her last name as well as taking's matt's) backstage in their locker room. Matt is watching a sports game from the sound of things. Maria asks him which shoes she should wear for their date later tonight. Matt isn't really paying attention but still gives his advice. Spanky walks through the door and Hardy immediately gets to his feet and asks him what the hell he wants. Spanky says relax, and that all he's here to do is make ammends for what he said on Monday. Spanky says he didn't mean to offend Matt. Matt says that he isn't buying it for one second. Spanky says he's just trying to be a nice guy, but Matt tells him to get the hell out. Spanky tells Matt that he's not going to be nice anymore, because being a Nice guy doesn't get you far in the world. After all, look at Matt, he's a "Nice" guy, and look what he's got. An ugly girlfriend and a worthless wrestling career. Matt hardy attacks Spanky and the two began fighting as Maria screams. After about 20 seconds, Road agents and officials come in and break up the fight, with Matt and Spanky still both trying to get at one another, yelling obscenities to each other.

6. Billy Kidman vs Austin Aries

Billy Kidman comes out to a few audible boo's, he looks ready to go for a fight tonight. Austin Aries comes out with a huge smile on his face. He points to the entrance, and out comes Torrie!! Aries wraps his arms around Torrie and the two kiss right on top of the ramp for the whole world to see. Aries is Torrie's new man? What the hell? Aries and Torrie make their way to the ring and Kidman is just in shock. Aries and Torrie get into the ring and Torrie gives Aries a peck on the cheek before leaving the ring. Aries attacks Kidman, still in shock, he can't believe it. Aries connects on shot to the face of Kidman before shooting him into the ropes and connecting on a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, but only getting a two count. Headlock by Aries, but Kidman shoots him into the ropes, Aries comes back with a huge shoulder block. Aries hits the ropes, Kidman hits the ground, then leapfrogs Aries, and then hits a hurricanrana on a running Aries! Kidman slides out of the ring and begans stalking Torrie, who starts walking backwards. Kidman is yelling at Torrie, he still can't believe it. Aries attacks Kidman from behind with a Lariat. Aries throws Kidman into the stairs and then rolls him back in the ring, but only gets a two count. Aries from behind and connects on a back suplex before going to the apron. Aries with a twisting slingshot splash onto Kidman, but only gets another two count.

Aries with an irish whip, Kidman ducks the clothesline and comes back with a bulldog on Aries. Kidman gets up and hits a weak sitout powerbomb, but only gets a two count. Kidman goes up top, but Aries delivers a step up enziguri to Kidman on the ropes, Belly to belly suplex off the top rope by Aries. Aries connects on the pendulum swinging elbow, but only gets a two count. Aries with a bodyslam and he goes up top and calls for the 450 splash. Kidman moves out of the way as Aries goes for the 450, but Aries sort of lands on his feet. Kidman with a kick to the stomach and tries to go for a DDT, but Aries powers him over with a northern lights suplex. Instead of going for the pin, Aries floats over back onto his legs and powers Kidman over for a SECOND northernlights Suplex! Aries goes for it again and once again floats over onto his legs, turns himself and Kidman around and connects on a third Northern Lights suplex in the center of the ring and goes for the pin, 1..2...3 and Aries wins!! After the victory, Aries and Torrie kiss once more at the top of the ramp for Kidman to see before leaving the ringside area.

WINNER: AUSTIN ARIES

7. An unlikely confrontation

Backstage, we see Nick Dinsmore walking around, apparently angry after his loss against William Regal last Monday. He runs into Sean O'Haire. O'Haire asks Dinsmore how it feels to manipulate the masses. Dinsmore mouths off, telling O'Haire that he should take lessons from Dinsmore. O'Haire tells him that he's sure got a chip on his shoulder, considering O'Haire knew all along that Dinsmore was nothing more then a fraud. Dinsmore tells O'Haire that his entire wrestling career is a fraud. For years he's rode the coattails of managers and tag team partners. O'Haire says speaking of riding coattails, it looks like Dinsmore has clamped firmly onto the back of Sting's trenchcoat, and that he isn't buying the nephew-uncle story that the two are obviously lying about. Sting walks into the picture. Sting stares a hole in O'Haire before telling him that Sting doesn't lie, but a man named Sean O'Haire does. He lies all the time, about everything and anything. O'Haire, obviously in a somewhat intimidated form now, tells Sting that he does what he has to do to get what he wants. Sting tells him that there's something he wants, he wants a match, but not just any match, he wants a tag team match. Since O'Haire doesn't believe Sting, perhaps it'd be best if him and his Nephew Nick beat some sense into him. Sting tells O'Haire to find himself a tag team partner for next Monday, because he has a match. Sting and Dinsmore walk off, leaving O'Haire a little nervous.

8. Canada eh? Hockey eh?

The Maple Leaf High Society is in the ring, Chance Beckett wearing his red and white robe, Petey Williams dressed up like a hockey player and Bobby Roode dressed up like a Goalie, and a hockey net is in the ring. Beckett is on the microphone, and says that they're going to show all these American's how to play the greatest sport of all, Hockey. Hockey is a far more superior sport then to american sports such as Baseball and Basketball, because it requires 3 essential things: Skill, Teamwork, and Strategy. Since American's aren't nearly as complicated as Canadians, their sports usually only require one of these things. The trio get major heat from the crowd as they bore the crowd by showing them different hockey techniques for about 4 minutes. Beckett says that Hockey is the greatest sport in the world, and while he'd never play it, he likes to watch those of lower society in heated competition for him to enjoy. Beckett says now they're going to teach the crowd proper puck handling techniques, and the crowd boo's. DDP and Kanyon's music hit, and the two make their way to the ring in Green Bay Packer jersey's, since we're in Wisconsin. All 3 Canadians immediately exit the ring upon DDP and Kanyon's entrance. DDP throws the goalie net out of the ring, breaking it. Kanyon breaks one of the hockey sticks over his knee and Beckett appears disgusted at their actions as the crowd is finally glad someone interrupted them.

Christian comes out first to a very good response from this crowd. The lights dim and CM's music hits. Punk makes his dramatic entrance to a huge chorus of boo's. Punk gets in the ring and the bell sounds. Collar and Elbow tieup and Christian backs Punk into the corner. It looks like we're going to see a clean break, but Punk delivers a bitchslap to Christian. The two tieup again, and now Punk backs Christian into the corner and the ref calls for the clean break, but this time it's Christian with a huge bitchslap and Punk is pissed. He connects on a knee lifts to the gut of Christian in teh corner before wailing away with right hands. Christian goes up top, and dives off towards Punk, who's back on his feet, but Punk counters by dropkicking Christian in the gut in midair. Punk delivers the Pepsi Twist and says it's over. Punk starts setting up Christian for the Pedigree, but Christian with a back body drop. Christian goes for the unprettier, but Punk shoves him and Christian hits the ropes. Kick to the stomach by CM Punk and he sets him up...PEDIGREE!!!

Punk rolls him over and makes the cover, 1...2...3 and this one's over, but Punk isn't finished. He rolls to the outside and grabs a chair! Punk gets back in the ring and stands over a downed Christian, he's going to deliver a chairshot to the head of christian! Punk has the chair raised above his head...but here comes Cabana!!! Cabana hits the ring and punk immediately exits through the other side. Cabana stands on the ropes. yelling at Punk, who's retreating to the back. Cabana checks on Christian.

Jericho's music hits and the entire arena fills up with boo's as Jericho makes his way out to the ring. He looks disgusted at the fact he has to wrestle on Thunder. He gets in the ring and hands the world title to the ref. The ref raises the belt in the air and Jericho immediately attacks Chavo as he looks up at the belt. Irish whip by Jericho and he uses Chavo's own momentum against him as he throws him right over to the top rope. Fools O'Haire will got to Regal who will agree to tag with him only for O'Haire to turn on Regal mid match and join forces with DInsmore and Sting.

Odds on that are currently 4/1

A good, solid Thunder but it definitely still has a B-Show feel. Which isn't necessarily bad since it allows for the mid cards to get some showcase. Looking forward to the Booker v. Marc rematch but I'm pretty sure Marc will win this time. Too bad since I'm a big Booker fan.

I'm really enjoying the Eddie and Chavo story. I like the slow build and simmering rivalry. I'm sure this will end up being a feud to help out both guys.

I'm pretty sure it's obvious that Regal will be the partner for O'Haire. I get the feeling that Sting calling O'Haire a 'liar' is foreshadowing for O'Haire to betray Regal. Besides, a stable of Sting, Dinsmore & O'Haire would be really sweet. Though Regal will eventually need to find someone he can trust since that would mean two people have betrayed him. Of course, I'm getting ahead of myself since we don't even know if Regal will team with O'Haire. I got a inkling.

AMW need a solid feud. I would vote DDP & Kanyon but they look to be occupied by the Canadians. That might just be a quick placeholder feud (though, I don't think the Canadians job just after being established).

Kidman & Aries stuff was pretty decent. Though I doubt the feud was blown off considering the last few shows of build. Maybe a gimmick match at the PPV?

All in all, look forward to seeing where the next few weeks are headed. I think, it should be a really good Nitro coming up.

I'll be making an announcement before the end of the week on the state of the diary. Work has kept me insanely busy for the last week (14+ hours a day between my 3 jobs), that's why there hasn't been any updates.

I'm working a 6-8 hour day testing for Microsoft, then coming back to town and taking care of all the business aspects of the newspaper I'm assistant editor for (editor is out of town for 3-6 weeks) in addition to writing, doing all the layout, ad sales, subscriptions, bah, you get the idea. Then I'm writing regular articles for another newspaper. It's just kinda hard to be finished with all that and come home and have the will to write for another 2 hours or so to do a show. That's originally why I switched to recap format.

But like I said, I'm still deciding what I want to do. I may have to end the diary, I may postpone it and pick it back up when my life isn't so busy, but either way, I won't abandon the diary to the point where I leave you all hanging on storylines.

I know a lot of people think this is one of the best diary's in the dome right now, and I thank you for that, but ultimately, work comes before play, at least in my life. This isn't a goodbye post, it's just letting you all know where I'm at right now.

I've thought about it, and I've finally decided what a lot of you don't want me to do, but hopefully you'lle understand why. I just don't have the time I use to to work on this diary. I'm not happy with the recap style I've been writing, and even then I have a hard time finding the time to write shows. I started this in June, when I had nothing going on and my life wasn't nearly as hectic as it is now

I'd like to thank all of the readers who supported my diary throughout the the last 4 months. Much thanks to everyone who's read, commented, suggested, participated in contests, and even decided some of my diary. I'm happy with ending it. I'm happy with the four months I poured all my freetime into the diary. I've became a much better writer in the process, and hopefully gave something to the dome that people will still read and lookback on when this diary reaches the 20th page of the dome. I don't consider this diary to be nearly as good as diaries such as Reverse figure4's LAW or AllDawson's WWE, but as a first attempt at a diary, I think it's pretty damn good. This won't be my only diary, at some point, I will be back. When I have more time, perhaps when I'm not working 3 different jobs, I'll return to the dome with something else. Maybe it will be as successful and on the same level as this diary, maybe it won't, who knows.

Like I said, I'm not going to leave the readers hanging. I've written an ending to the diary over the last couple days, and will be positing it shortly. So yeah, thanks for being apart of my diary, and to quote WCW commissioner Mick Foley.. "BANG BANG" ...and thanks.

And The Rest...As They Say...Is History

Monday, May 15th 2006 and beyond

For nearly 4 months real time, and 10 months in game time, you've witnessed the uprising of WCW in 2005 inside of this diary. The diary went from a small time waster to a mammoth beast with over 500 responses and 17,000 views. So that's it huh? It was a great run. The readers helped push the diary to greatness and I helped the characters grow into memorable roles and great shows.

So what did happen in the future you say? Are there questions left unanswered? Here's just a glimpse into the unwritten future.

SLAMBOREE and THE IMMEDIATE FUTURE

- So how'd the #1 contender's tournament finish? At Slamboree, Raven and Steve Austin battled in the finals of the tournament. However, Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho ran in on the match within the opening 5 minutes and, to the surprise of Raven and Chris Jericho, attacked the referee. The referee called for a no decision of the match, but Eric Bischoff would not have that, and made a triple threat match for later in the night. In the triple threat match, it looked as though Jericho's world title reign was going to come to a head, as Austin and Raven both dominated the match. However, that was not the case, as Austin hit a Stunner on Jericho and Raven hit the evenflow. Neither man wanted the other to win, so they duked it out with Jericho on the mat. Raven clotheslined Austin over the top rope, but Jericho schoolboy'd Raven and put his feet on the ropes to win.

- Austin Aries and Torrie Wilson had became a couple in recent weeks, as you read. Well Billy Kidman wanted revenge, and a Jealous Stacy Keibler wanted her man back. Billy and Stacy formed an alliance, despite neither liking one another. Austin and Torrie faced off Against Stacy and Billy, and midmatch, Stacy turned on Kidman and tried to rejoin Austin. Austin obliged to the disgust of Torrie. Still wanting to get one over on Billy, Torrie left while holding onto the other hand of Austin Aries. The relationship between the three didn't last long however, as Stacy and Torrie were too interested in one another to pay attention to Austin!

- Edge and RVD's feud continued, and we saw Edge defeat RVD in a hardcore match at slamboree that tied the feud at 1-1, after RVD defeated Edge in the first round of the #1 contenders tournament. RVD and Edge would go on to battle for months, with RVD finally coming out the better man in the feud, picking up a total of 4 wins over Edge, who won 3. The feud ended at Road Wild in a TLC match.

- Regal and Eugene fought to count out draw at Slamboree. Their feud was one of the most violent WCW had seen in 2006, and Eugene brought out the fierce side in William Regal. in June, at the Great American Bash, Regal found an unlikely partner in Diamond Dallas Page, who Sting had attacked weeks before. Regal and DDP fell to Eugene and Sting. In July, at Bash at the Beach, Regal and Eugene fought in a Brass Knuckles on a pole match. Regal won, but only after he pulled a pair of knucks out of his tights while the referee was knocked out. Eugene had the other pair in his hand.

- What about Colt Cabana and CM Punk? Well, the two managed to both get themselves disqualified in the US Title at Slamboree after attempting simulatenous chairshots. Fed up with their antics and begging for rematches, Eric Bischoff pitted them against each other in a best of 7 series with the US Title going to the winner. As expected, the series went to a match 7, ending at Road Wild. So who won? CM Punk finally captured gold in WCW, but not before selling his soul to once former rival, RAVEN, joining the flock in the process.

- So how'd the rest of the PPV go? AMW retained the tag team gold against the problematic Los Guerreros. In a match booked by dragonfyre513 for winning last month's PPV contest, Low-Ki retained the pure title against Paul Birchall in the sleeper match of the night that lasted nearly 25 minutes. Matt Hardy defeated Spanky, and after the match, Spanky got redemption with a steel chair shot and then he planted a huge kiss on Maria, which lit a fire under Matt Hardy. When Shane Helms returned from his promotional tour, him and Hardy saw differently, both wanting to resume the feud with Spanky. In the end, the three fought in a triple threat match at Great American Bash, where Hardy and Helms saw eye to eye on one thing, defeating Spanky.

- What about the Booker T - Whiskey Marc feud? Well, Booker T won their #1 contenders tournament match May 15th on Nitro, but immediately after was attacked by the flock, who further damaged Booker T's nose, keeping him out of action for 6 weeks. Booker was unable to face Raven in the semi finals of the tournament, and Raven earned a bye directly to the PPV. The feud didn't pick back up.

THE WORLD TITLE SCENE -- Jericho's Reign.

- Did Chris Jericho do the unthinkable? Did he hold the heavyweight title for one full year? In June, Jericho successfully defending the heavyweight title against Whiskey Marc, who had been tearing through the competition to earn a shot at the title. In July, sick of Jericho's cocky "You can't fire me" attitude, Eric Bischoff stacked the deck against Jericho, pitting him inside of a hell in the cell against 5 superstars at Bash at the beach: Steve Austin, Raven, Edge, Rob Van Dam, and Booker T. Y2J started out in the ring with Edge, while the other four superstars were handcuffed to each ringpost. Every 4 minutes, a wrestler would be uncuffed. EDGE eliminated RVD, Booker T eliminated Raven, Austin eliminated Booker T and edge, but was eliminated cheaply by Raven. In the end, Raven fell victim to the liontamer.

The night after Bash at the Beach, July 31st, 2006. Chris Jericho started off Nitro by coming to the ring and bragging about his victory. Immediately after he called himself the Greatest Heavyweight Champion of all time, a familiar theme hit, and the crowd went nuts. RIC FLAIR made his return to WCW and proclaimed himself the Greatest Champion of all time. Disgusted by the claim, Jericho agreed to a match against Flair, for the world title, at Road Wild. on August 27th, Jericho and Flair faced off in the main event at Road Wild. Right as the match tilted in Flair's favor, Jericho dissapointed the world by getting himself counted out. 364 days into Jericho's title reign, On September 24th, at Fall Brawl the two fought again in a rematch, with Mick Foley acting as the Special Referee. It had been well documented that Foley and Flair disliked each other, but Foley insisted as commissioner, he would remain impartial. Well, he didn't. As Jericho was about to hit Flair with a steel chair, Foley intervened and took the chair from Jericho, only to hit Flair himself. Jericho won the match and fans were left with a sickened taste in their mouth.

The following night, on Nitro, Jericho hit the ring once again, and introduced Foley, who got huge boo's from the crowd. Foley explained that no matter how good the fans were to him, he would not allow Flair to become heavyweight champion, because Foley doesn't lie down when it comes to grudges. A timer counting down till the end of Nitro hit the tron, and Jericho announced that 11:04 PM, his title reign would reach one year. Bischoff interrupted Jericho and Foley, and in a shining speech, removed Foley as WCW commissioner. Bischoff also made the main event for Nitro, Jericho vs Flair one more time, in a submission match. AND if anyone interfered, the title would be STRIPPED from Chris Jericho. At 10:59pm, Chris Jericho passed out from the pain of the figure four after being in it for nearly 5 minutes, and his shoulders hit the mat as the ref spelled the end of Jericho's title reign, counting the 1 the 2 and the 3 as Flair captured the heavyweight title for the 17th time in his illustrious career.

Jericho took time off from WCW after his loss to recover from some injuries and work with his band Fozzy. Meanwhile, Foley returned to semi- active competition finally and embarked in a feud with Ric Flair, but Flair won at both Halloween Havoc and Wargames in matches against Foley, extending his world title reign in what many considered one of the best 'work-shoot' feuds the wrestling industry had seen since Hardy-Edge.

THE UPRISING AND DOWNFALL OF THE FLOCK

- At Road Wild, CM Punk finally captured Gold by defeating Colt Cabana in a best of 7 series for the US Title. But not without the help of once former enemy Raven. As a member of the Flock, Punk turned against everything he stood for, but never confessed to anything. Punk began appearing strung out, sleep deprived and became an all out lunatic. The Flock became one of the most feared forces in WCW, and by September, it consisted of Raven, Whiskey Marc, Tajiri, CM Punk, Sean O'Haire and Austin Aries. The Flock triumped over a group of Flock flunkies that consisted of Whipwreck, Kidman and Richards. The Flock appeared unstoppable with Raven at the helm. At War Games, in the wargames matchup, Raven, Whiskey Marc and CM Punk were the finaly 3 men remaining in the ring, battling for a world heavyweight title shot. Raven pointed to the ground for Marc and Punk to lay down so he could pin them, but that didn't happen. Instead, Marc and Punk attacked Raven in a shocking turn of events. Punk and Marc bloodied Raven, knocking him out cold in the process. Punk pinned Raven, and then Whiskey Marc allowed Punk to pin him, earning a title shot at Starcade.

Punk took over the Flock while Raven disappeared from WCW for some time. As a reward for his work, Punk gave the US title to Whiskey Marc, "knowing" that he could defeat Flair. At Starcade, the two faced off inside of a steelcage, a stipulation that they both agreed on. The match had an oldschool 80's feel to it, a nastolgia trip for oldschool Flair fans. Flair won the match via Figure four.

The next night, Punk asked Marc for the US Title back, but Marc refused. The Flock crumbled amongst itself, as Punk and Marc fought in a bitter feud for three months. Tajiri, O'Haire and Aries simply stepped aside and let the two derranged maniac's go at it. Tajiri and O'Haire formed a tag team and captured the tag team titles during their tenure in the flock, and Aries continued to shine as a singles competitor, eventually being accepted back by Generation Next, which consisted of Roderick Strong, Jack Evans, Michael Shane and Jimmy Jacobs near the end of 2006. Birchall left Generation Next after Sinister Minister became his manager, and Jacobs betrayed Generation Now in September to join up with Generation Next.

In March of 2007, at Clash of the Champions, Punk and Marc faced off in the final match of their feud. Punk defeated Whiskey Marc to recapture the US Title in the most violent match WCW had seen, a dog collar match. After the match was over, Raven made his return to WCW and attached himself to the other end of the dog collar and proceeded to beat the hell of CM Punk. I'll leave this storyline to your imagination.

MICK FOLEY and STEVE AUSTIN -- The war of former commissioners

- Mick Foley and Steve Austin feuded after Foley's feud with Ric Flair. Before that, Austin had bounced around quite a bit, and took a couple months off in mid 2006. Foley and Austin had a solid feud that brought out the best in each other, their abilities to brawl. The feud came to a head at Clash of the Champions, where Austin picked up the "W" against Foley in a classic Texas Deathmatch.

CABANA AND CHRISTIAN -- The Greatest Tag Team in WCW History?

- Following Cabana losing the US Title to Punk, Cabana and Christian, who still teamed occasionally, began teaming more often, and captured the tag team titles two times in 2006. They embarked in a feuds with AMW and Tajiri/O'Haire. However, Colt Cabana was once again betrayed by a teammate. In February of 07' , Christian turned on Colt Cabana to reunite with Edge.

NICK DINSMORE -- Post Regal Feud

- Following Dinsmore's loss of the Regal feud, Dinsmore started mauling through jobbers on nearly every show imagineable. Dinsmore then captured the television title and developed somewhat of a bully gimmick. Dinsmore finally dropped the TV Title to Alex Shelley and worked his way into a nice niche' in the uppermidcard scene. Essentially, he became the heel version of Matt Hardy. Always in featured feuds, just never really doing anything important.

THE CRUISERWEIGHT DIVISION

- The Amazing Red eventually dropped the cruiserweight title to Psychosis. Juvi remained jealous of Psychosis, and eventually cost Psychosis the title "accidently" to masked newcomer trueno de cielo (Sky Thunder), who may be better known as Essa Rios in WWF. The title changed hands a couple more times. In December, at Starcade, in a 20 man battle royal to decide the vacant WCW cruiserweight title (title vacated after Jody Fleisch got injured), Rey Mysterio made his surprise return and won the belt, last eliminating Juvi Guerrera. The two embarked in a memorable feud following.

THOSE DISFUNCTIONAL GUERREROS

- Chavo and Eddie attempted to capture the tag team titles in the months of May and June, but couldn't do it. Frustrated, Chavo turned against Eddie Guerrero, claiming he was the weak link of their team. Chavo and Eddie (now a face), feuded for 3 months, with Chavo surprisingly coming out on top the winner. Both Guerreros went their ways after the feud, with Eddie starting a feud with Edge and Chavo starting a feud with RVD after the Chavo-Eddie and RVD-Edge feuds ended at nearly the same time.

THE MAPLE LEAF HIGH SOCIETY

- Ah, those loveable canucks. The stable remained successful in the midcard circuit, and Petey Williams and Bobby Roode captured the tag team titles with the help of Chance Beckett. Beckett made his much anticipated in ring debut in August, and immediately gained popularity for his matches with superstars like Alex Shelley, James Gibson, Low-Ki and Tajiri. As his popularity grew, so did his ego. In November, despite not winning any championships, Beckett was comparing himself to the likes of Jericho, Benoit, Edge and Christian and the Legendary Hart family. A one time appearance by Bret Hart in November put Beckett in his place, as Hart slapped on the sharpshooter to Beckett on an episode of Nitro after Beckett announced that he had done more in 5 months then his whole country did in the last 20 years.

THE MYSTERIOUS STING

- So what about Sting? Sting became an Undertaker like figure for WCW in much of 2006, coming and going, randomly showing up and feuding with no one in particular for more then a month. Sting did have several great matches in 2006 against nearly all the top stars in WCW, but perhaps the best match would be the nastalgia match he had against DDP in October, as the two vets churned out one to remember.

On the very first Nitro of 2007, Sting interrupted a Ric Flair in the middle of a speech Flair was giving following his defeat of CM Punk at Starcade. Sting and Flair embarked in a 2 month feud througout Souled Out and Superbrawl, swapping the heavyweight title in the process. Sting defeated Flair at Souled Out in controversy after Sting put Flair in the Scorpion Deathlock. As Flair was reaching for the ropes, his hand slipped, making it look like he tapped out. The following month, at SuperBrawl, Ric Flair defeated Sting, showing him just why he's the dirtiest player in the game.

THE EPIC RETURN AND THE FEUD ONE YEAR IN THE MAKING

In early March of 2007, after not hearing about him for nearly 6 months, CHRIS BENOIT made his return to WCW. During Benoit's return speech, Heavyweight champion Ric Flair came out and welcomed him back. Benoit asked Flair for a heavyweight title shot, and Flair told him that it'd be an honor. As friends, the two engaged in what many said was match of the night, a technical contest at Clash of the Champions. In what was nearly 18 months in the coming, Chris Benoit captured the WCW Heavyweight Title and embraced in a long hug with Ric Flair after the match. The next night on Nitro.. Chris Jericho made his return :D

----------------------------------------------------

A WAR FOR THE AGES

So now that we've cleared up some of the individual rivalries of WCW, how about the big picture? How about WWE and ECW?

SMACKDOWN VS THUNDER

In August of 2006, WCW bought out their contract with MTV and immediately signed a deal with the USA network. On Thursday, August 10th, 2006, Thunder debuted on Thursday night at 8PM, The same time as Smackdown. A war raged on Thursday nights as the two battled tightly, neither winning the ratings war for a span longer then 4 weeks.

The Monday Night Wars

in May of 2006, WCW Nitro had began to beat WWE Raw and ECW's Hardcore TV in the rating wars. WCW's victories over WWE grew larger, and by mid 2007, they were beating them by nearly a half of point week in and week out.

THE RISE AND FALL OF ECW...AGAIN

In late 2007, after teetering near Global and National for 2 years, Eric Bischoff finally did Paul Heyman in for good. WCW, who had been manufacturing their superstars, while ECW continued to sign former big names, finally overcame ECW in the star power department, and ECW immediately dropped to National. 2 months later, ECW lost their TV deal and were headed towards backruptcy near late 2008. Superstars began jumping ship. WCW saw new superstars in The Dudleys, Sabu, Samoa Joe and Nunzio, but WWE scored the big ones, as AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, The Rock, Rhyno, Goldberg, Ken Shamrock and even Paul Heyman all signed with WWE.

TNA and the independents

NWA TNA continued to have moderate success as a National division, but never were able to reach global status again. in 2009, there were two independent promotions about to hit on a national level, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, who had formed a friendly relationship with Eric Bischoff and WCW, and Ring of Glory, a rip off west coast version of Ring of Honor that captured the American Strong Style feel of ROH while bringing in japanese talent for shows.

AND THE REST IS HISTORY....

So what about WWE and WCW? Did WCW finally become the number one promotion in North America? WCW reached 85% PI by the end of 2009, while WWE clenched on to it's 100% PI that it had reached way back in 2005. By 2009, WWE stars like the Undertaker, Batista, Kevin Nash, Kane and The Undertaker were long gone. Kurt Angle, Triple H, Randy Orton, JBL and The Big Show had lost a step, and The Rock, HBK and Vince Mcmahon were still hanging around, despite the majority of the wrestling community thinking they had worn out their welcome. For WCW, Ric Flair was no longer competing, but acting as commissioner. DDP, Mick Foley, Steve Austin, Raven, Rob Van Dam, William Regal and Sting were no longer with the company as they had retired from pro wrestling. Jericho, Benoit and Eddie Guerrero were still going strong as they neared or had entered their 40's. WCW had given way to it's younger talent, and as expected, guys like Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Edge, Christian, James Gibson, Homicide, Whiskey Marc and the rest of WCW's youth shined in WCW.

Did Eric Bischoff ever take down the big 'E? Well, in 2010, with both companies running 3 shows a week that were all highly rated, WCW did what WWE did to them roughly 10 years ago. On an episode of Nitro, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Shelton Benjamin and Paul London showed up in the front row, and soon became major players thereafter. I'll leave the rest up to you to figure out...

Great ending man. This diary has been entertaining on so many levels and I'll be sad to see it go. In my opinion (and I know I might get some critism for this), it deserves a place in the Hall of Fame. Fantastic work.

P.S. Jericho = Champ 4 Eva!

I have to say your diary has pretty much kept me entertained over the last 4 months and thank you for the great shows you wrote and the diary as a whole altogether. 4 months is a long time for a diary as many dont last 2 weeks. You did a great job man, it's been a pleasure reading this diary! (Y)

I posted above but now that I've thought about it some more I have more to say D.

First off thankyou for almost singlehandedly making me venture into the Dome everyday just o see if you'd updated. With LAW becoming the Undertaker of the Dome and only making appearnces here and there, and BVS finishing all looked lost til you started.

2nd I really do think this deserves a place in the HoF. It was so well written and kept the readers so entertained that it is worthy. The only thing I see stopping it is the fact you never finished it.

3rd I ebelieve I speak for everyone when I say thank you again. Not just for the reasons stated above but purely forthe fact that you tried your damn hardest to keep this Diary going. You found time off, you posted once a day, you worked your ass off just to please us and for that we thankyou.

Thankyou Disengager. Thankyou very much for one of the best diarys in a long time.

*Starts round of applause* :wub::wub::wub:
