SMACKDOWN PREVIEW - August 11th, 2005

- Theodore Long has announced a huge main event this thursday on smackdown.  After defeating Muhammad Hassan, even if by disqualification, Batista's quest to destroy the competition has started at 1-0.  This thursday night, the animal goes one on one with former world champion, Eddie Guerrero.  Will Batista's mind be in gear for this battle? Or has Randy Orton really gotten into the head of the animal?

- Last week on smackdown, The Blue World Order was re-united in their quest to capture tag team gold against MNM.  Unfortunately, due to Melina's outside interference, the BWO was unable to achieve their goal.  This week, the legendary ecw stable will take on MNM and a partner of their choice still to be announced.  Will the BWO go 0-2 in their second week in the wwe?

- Kid Kash earned the right to face Paul London this week for the cruiserweight championship.  Will Paul London defeat the fairly new wwe superstar?

- Christian and Tyson Tomko easily defeated Charlie Haas and Hardcore Holly last week, but this week, they've requested something a little different.  Christian has requested a one on one matchup with one of smackdown's top superstars, and Theodore Long has granted his request.  This thursday on smackdown, watch Christian go one on one with Booker T!

CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH

Kid Kash vs. Paul London

This was probably the best quality match of the night. Kid Kash showed some impressive work with some of his indy background. He took advantage of the matchup over Paul London early on using some mat base style of wrestling, which we usually don't see from cruiserweights. He also has a clear size advantage over London, which allowed him to almost score a pinfall with a double arm suplex he connected with. Paul London then takes the momentum and turns it around with an enzuiguiri which gets a close two count. London then grabs Kid Kash up by the neck and looks to suplex him, but then sets him up on the top turnbuckle instead. He climbs up to the second turnbuckle and gets Kid Kash down with a superplex! He stares but doesn't go for the cover. He jumps up to the top turnbuckle and nails Kid Kash with the 450 splash and covers 1...2...3! Both men back up to their feet, London offers Kid Kash a handshake, which he accepts, but then viciously gives London a low blow and leaves him on the ground, as he exits out the entrance ramp.

SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH

Blue World Order vs. MNM and ???

JBL comes out as the surprise partner, to the disgust of the BWO. Blue Meanie ran right to the outside and began attacking JBL, until the referee broke them apart from each other. Hollywood Nova and Johnny Nitro battled it out to start the match. About mid way through, Steven Richards was tagged in. Richards began cleaning house, throwing both Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury out of the ring for Hollywood Nova to take care of them. He then points to JBL and tags in Blue Meanie. The two are staring at each other across the ring, MNM have laid out Nova against the steel steps. They run back into the ring and take care of Steven Richards as well, with Blue Meanie taking his attention off of JBL. JBL runs right towards Meanie and hits the clotheline from hell as the referee makes the count 1...2...NO! Blue Meanie has kicked out of the clotheline from hell! He's showing some incredibly resiliency. The referee is now incredibly confused with the action going on outside the ring between MNM, Richards and Nova, as Orlando Jordan runs down to the ring with his U.S. title belt and nails Meanie in the face with it. Now JBL screams at the ref as he covers Meanie 1...2...3! Bradshaw walks up the entrance ramp with his cabinet partner and MNM, as the BWO looks on.

Booker T vs. Christian

Booker T began a beatdown of Captain Charisma the moment he walked into the ring. He began nailing him with rights and lefts and some chops to the chest for a few seconds, before irish whipping him to the ropes and trying to get a very early pin with a harlem side kick. The match switched momentum mid way through, when Christian grabbed Booker T by the head and nailed him to the ground with a DDT. Tomko worked as a great distraction for most of this match. Christian almost hit the unprettier late in the match to get the win, but Booker T sends him running in to the ropes and clothelines him down on the way back. He then grabs him up, kicks him in the gut and goes for a scissors kick, which Christian moves out of the way for. He then tries to hit Booker with a clotheline but misses and hits the referee instead! Booker grabs Christian for a Bookend and nails it! He's got the cover but the referee is down. Booker's up and trying to get the referee up as well, as all of a sudden Muhammad Hassan comes running down the entrance ramp with a steel chair in hand. He waits for Booker to turn around, then smashes him right over the face with it! Christian crawls on top of Booker T and covers him as the referee slowly regains consciousness and counts 1...2...3! Hassan walks right back up the entrance ramp with Christian, as Booker stares them down from the ring

TAG TEAM MATCH

Super Crazy and Psicosis II vs. Rey Mysterio and William Regal

William Regal seemed out of place in this matchup as the only heavyweight. This match was pretty well fought out by Rey Rey and Psicosis for the most part. Regal came into the ring and began cleaning house as he used his size to destroy Psicosis and force him to tag in Super Crazy. Regal almost got the cover with a powerbomb on Super Crazy but it was only a close two count. Rey Rey tagged himself in and jumped off the top rope, trying to nail Super Crazy with a cross body, but he gets caught in mid air with a rollup, with Super Crazy grabbing the tights 1...2...kick out! All of a sudden, Juventud is running down to the ring, distracting the referee as Psicosis takes out Regal and Super Crazy gives Mysterio a low blow, covering him for the 1...2...3! The Mexicools head out up the entrance ramp, while Mysterio and Regal are shaking their heads in the ring. Mysterio is about to leave the ring area, but Regal suddenly punches him right in the face with a pair of brass knuckles he pulled out of his tights! He then gets down on him and grabs him with an STO Deathlock which makes Mysterio tap out, but to no avail. A bunch of EMTs and referees come to break the hold and help Rey Mysterio up on his feet, as smackdown goes to another commercial break.

SINGLES MATCH

Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero

Batista and Eddie battled this out evenly throughout the match. Eddie grabs the advantage with some kicks to Batista's shins, as he irish whips the animal across the ring but gets caught with a huge clotheline that sends him storming to the mat! Batista picks Eddie up by his hair and irish whips him across the ring, nailing him with a perfectly executed spinebuster! He hooks both legs 1...2...kick out! Now Batista grabs Eddie back up and irish whips him to the opposite turnbuckle. He runs towards him, but Guerrero moves out of the way, then dropkicks the monster's knees, forcing him to kneel. He then grabs his head up and puts him down with a DDT, getting a close two count. Eddie now gets out on the apron and begins walking up the to the top rope. Batista is still on the ground. Guerrero is about to jump off, but the animal gets right back up and hits the ropes, making Eddie fall and sit on that top turnbuckle. Batista walks right over to Guerrero, then grabs him with both hands and throws him off the top rope. He then signals for the finisher, cutting his neck, he kicks Eddie in the gut and gets him up for a sitout powerbomb, as Randy Orton begins running down the entrance ramp again. Eddie is down and out, and Batista is now walking towards the apron, where Orton is. Orton then enters the ring and kicks Batista in the gut, trying to give him an RKO but getting puhed into the ropes and getting clothelined to the floor. Eddie then gives Batista a low blow from behind, allowing Randy to nail yet another RKO on Batista! The bell rings, Batista wins by disqualification yet again. Orton is kicking Batista down to the ground, until all of a sudden, Chris Benoit comes running down the isle. Eddie and Orton are gunning for the entrance ramp, as Benoit stares them down from the ring while he helps Batista up.

RAW PREVIEW - August 15th, 2005

- Triple H and John Cena are just a few weeks away from their big encounter at Summerslam.  This monday night, they will sign the contract to make their match official.

- Sean Morley has shown a new side to him that has left the world shocked.  After attacking Trish Stratus and Miss Jackie during their match, he announced he wanted to be referred to as his real name, Sean Morley.  This week, Morley has challenged The Hurricane and Super Stacy in a handicap match.

- Carlito's actions last week were extremely surprising, attacking The Rock on his own Cabbana.  Will The Rock be at raw this week in anaheim? Will he accept Carlito's challenge for summerslam? Despite having Rock on his mind, Carlito hosts his Cabbana with guest Chris Jericho.

- Also this week, Mikey Whipwreck made his debut last night on heat, teaming with his old tag team partner Tajiri and capturing a win against the Heart Throbs.  Monday night, the two take on a much bigger challenge as they face former wwe tag team champions, the Basham Brothers.

TAG TEAM MATCH

Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri vs. The Bashams

A very fact paced matchup between two very experienced teams here. The Bashams used some double team manovers to gain advantage of Tajiri throughout most of the early segment of this bout. Tajiri then is able to give Doug Basham a superkick and run to his corner to tag in Mikey Whipwreck. The fans are going wild for the former ecw heavyweight champion. He enters the ring and irish whips Danny Basham across the ropes, nailing him with a spinning wheel kick. He then dropkicks Doug Basham right out of the ring and goes back to work on Danny. He tags Tajiri back in and allows him to superkick him in the face, then giving him a Whippersnapper! Whipwreck covers 1...2...3! A fairly easy raw debut for re-born team of Whipwreck and Tajiri.

An incredible match here. Highlight Reel versus Carlito's Cabbana. He then scoop slams Jericho to the mat and gives him a leg drop for a two count. Carlito picks Y2J up by his hair. He irish whips him across the ring and clothelines him back down to the mat! He then jumps up to the second turnbuckle and hits a Bret Hart-like elbow smash to the face, for another two count. The referee gets knocked out about three quarters through by a missed clotheline attempt by Carlito. Then, all of a sudden, IF YA SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'! Carlito turns his attention to the stage and begins taunting, but no man is making his way out. Rock comes running straight out of the audience and stares at Carlito from behind. He waits for him to turn around, then grabs him up by the neck and BAM! Rock Bottom to Carlito! The fans are going wild and chanting "ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY!" as Chris Jericho begins to regain consciousness. Rock slides out of the ring, and Jericho doesn't notice any of this. Y2J crawls over Carlito with one arm, as the referee makes his way over to the action and begins counting 1....2....3! Jericho has his arm raised in the air, as Rock walks back into the ring and begins celebrating with him. Rock is standing on the second turnbuckle with his arm raised in the air, as Jericho squints and realizes that he only won because of Rock's help. He waits for Rocky to get down from the turnbuckle, then nails him right over the back with a forearm smash! This was a rematch from last week's dissapointing loss for Van Dam. Cornette was a ringside with his new client, Kenzo Suzuki and he worked extremely well as a distraction to RVD for most of this bout. Suzuki held the upper hand throughout by keeping RVD in control with some pretty mat based style of wrestling and some submission manovers that looked like they might've ended the match at some points. RVD was able to turn the tables around on Suzuki with a spinning heel kick and a rolling thunder for a close two count. He then catapulted himself from the top turnbuckle for a split legged moonsault that once again got a close two count. RVD then waited for Kenzo to get back up and went for another spinning heel kick, but nailed the referee instead by accident! Suzuki tries to get RVD down with a leg sweep, but RVD jumps and hits Suzuki with a leg drop. All of a sudden, Edge begins running down the ramp. He runs right into the ring and quickly spears Van Dam, sliding under the ring and allowing for Suzuki to crawl on top of RVD for the three count! About mid way through, Shelton Benjamin was tagged in and he was able to take the upper hand, nailing Snitsky down with some clothelines, then kicking Edge and Angle off the turnbuckle with a double clotheline. He then ran over to Snitsky again but got kicked in the face with a vicious big boot that got a close two count. Kane then came into the ring and began destroying the man that had torn up his life for months before, Snitsky with some of his power manovers. He then throws Snitsky to the corner, to tag in Kurt Angle. Angle runs right into the ring but gets caught with some clothelines from Kane, then a sidewalk slam and a pin attempt 1...2..shoulder up! Edge and Big Show both run into the ring now and begin brawling. Edge tries to clotheline Show outside of the ringm but is clearly overmatched physically. He runs to the opposite ropes and spears Big Show outside of the ring through the second and third rope, landing on top of him on the outside. Angle gets right back up, and begins twisting the ankle of Kane. Kane seems like he's about to tap out, even as Shelton Benjamin re-enters the ring. RAW PREVIEW - August 22th, 2005

- Just six days away from Summerslam, John Cena and Triple H are ready to take their hatred up one step.  Can John Cena withstand the cerebral power of The Game?

- The Rock and Carlito have been locking heads for a few weeks now.  Just last week, after Rock screwed Carlito out of his match, he was viciously attacked by Chris Jericho for no apparent reason.  This week, Chris Jericho's highlight reel returns with none other than The Rock himself.  Can Jericho explain the motives behind his attack? Or will Rock hear none of it?

- The wwe tag team titles will be on the line this monday night, as Rosey and The Hurricane defend their belts in a fatal four way tag team match against The Bashams, Chavo Guerrero and Rene Dupree, and Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri!

Superstars Released

A full list of superstars released from the wwe earlier today was presented on wwe.com.  It was reported that many of these superstars were released due to the forced expenses paid due to Rock's return to raw a few weeks ago, but the true reason for most of the firings is still unclear.  Christy Hemme's cocaine habit had much to do with her release, though, for certain.

TAG TEAM TITLE FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH

Mikey Whipwreck and Tajiri vs. The Bashams vs. Chavo and Rene vs. Hurricane and Rosey

A great matchup between four of the premier tag teams of raw. Doug Basham started out in the ring with Tajiri, and almost eliminated the Japanese Buzzsaw with one of his switch things with Danny. Whipwreck caught on and gave Danny Basham a whippersnapper before he could get into the ring, while Tajiri kicked Doug right in the face, causing his elimination with a three count. Chavo runs right into the ring but gets caught in the face with a superkick as well 1...2...kick out! Rosey tags himself in and begins beating the hell out of Chavo Guerrero. He splashes on top of him and once again almost gets a three count. Chavo is able to tag out to his partner Dupree. Rene enters the ring and begins trying to nail Rosey with some right hands, but is unable to knock the big man down. He then runs to the ropes and tries to clotheline him down but gets caught in mid air with a black hole slam type manover, as Rosey covers 1...2...3! Chavo and Rene have been eliminated. Now Mikey Whipwreck is back into the ring as he begins nailing Rosey over the head with some right hands and then a vicious dropkick that sends the big man to the ground. After the two teams battle it out for about six minutes, Tajiri walks into the ring and gives Rosey a superkick, allowing for Whipwreck to hit the Whippersnapper on Hurricane and hooking the far leg for the 1...2...3!

Triple H was backstage sitting in a chair in the middle of an empty room. He begins his usual monologue, telling John Cena that he has no idea what he's gotten himself into. He says that come sunday, Cena'll wish that not only he would've never been drafted to raw, but that he would've never worked for the wwe in his entire life.

SINGLES MATCH

Edge vs. Rob Van Dam

Definitely the match that stole the show here. RVD took control of the early going as he tried to get his revenge on Edge for screwing him out of his bout with Kenzo Suzuki last week. He begins nailing him over the head with some stiff forearm smashes, until he is able to get Edge down with a spinning heel kick. He hits the rolling thunder and goes for the pin but only gets a close two count. Van Dam picks Edge up by his hair and scoop slams him to the ground, hitting a rolling leg drop on him this time. He then sets Edge up near the turnbuckle and hits a split legged moonsault that once again only gets a close two count. Now Edge is up on his feet and trying to fight back, but Van Dam superkicks him to the ground and catapults himself over to the top turnbuckle. He jumps off and nails Edge with a five star frog splash! All of a sudden Kenzo Suzuki is seen running down the entrance ramp. He slides into the ring and begins attacking RVD incredibly. He gives him the Faceclaw STO and knocks him straight out, waiting for Edge to get up and allowing him to knock Van Dam down as well with a vicious spear! Suzuki, Edge and Jim Cornette walk off with big smiles on their faces.

WINNER: RVD by DQ

Kurt Angle was standing in the ring now. He cuts a promo on Shelton Benjamin, then calls him out! Shelton's music hits, but a midget impersonating him makes his way out. He begins taunting Kurt but gets floored with a clotheline and taps out to an ankle lock. Shelton then comes out and cleans house of both his fake midget impersonator and Kurt Angle.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH

Kane vs. Carlito Caribbean Cool

Carlito's toughest intercontinental title defense yet. Kane walks in the ring and Carlito begins trying to take advantage of the match with some stiff kicks to the back on Kane's way to the ring. Kane gets right back up and punches Carlito in the face, sending him flying to the outside of the ring. Carlito tried to rest for the entire matchup and ran away from Kane at every opportunity he got to do it. Kane then catches Carlito on the outside and throws him right back into the ring to give him the beat down of his life. Carlito begs for mercy, but gets nailed with a big boot right to the face by Kane to get a close two count. The Big Red Machine grabs Carlito up and grabs him by the neck for a Chokeslam. He prepares to get the champion up but gets nailed with a vicious low blow right in front of the referee's eyes! Earl Hebner calls for the bell, Kane has won the match but Carlito has retained his title. He walks up the entrance ramp smiling, while Kane stares him down from the middle of the ring with an angry expression on his face.

Chris Jericho's highlight reel is up next. Jericho is sitting on one of the stools in front of the Jeri-Tron 5000 as The Rock makes his way out to the sold out crowd cheering him on their feet. He enters the ring and takes a seat near Jericho. Y2J tells him that what happened last week between them.. It was COMPLETELY personal. He says that ever since The Rock walked back into the wwe, everyone's been kissing his ass again and forgetting that he walked out of it to become a crappy movie star. Rock wastes no time and attacks Jericho. The two brawl for almost a full minute until a group of referees comes around and seperates them.

SINGLES MATCH

John Cena vs. Ric Flair

Triple H was nowhere in sight for this matchup. Flair took early control of Cena with some of his trademark "dirtiest player in the game" tactics. He scoop slams John Cena down to the mat and nails him with an old school looking leg drop, getting a close two count. He keeps control of the match for the next four to five minutes, until Cena begins punching him in the gut and fighting out of this predicament. He kicks Flair in the stomach and clothelines him to the ground, running to the ropes and pumping up his shoes for the five knuckle shuffle with gets a close two count. Cena then suplexes The Nature Boy to the mat and gets another close two count. He then gets right back up and taunts Flair to get up and take the FU. He grabs him up for it, but 'Naitch steps behind Cena and kicks him in the shin, trying to grab his legs for the figure four but getting reversed into a rollup instead for another close two count. Both men quickly get up. Cena kicks Flair in the gut and picks him up dropping him down with an FU! He hooks the far leg 1...2...3! Cena turns around, and Triple H is right there waiting for him! He kicks him in the gut and gives him a vicious pedigree, nailing his ass down to the ground and grabbing the wwe title belt.
