Rate My Mix CD

Yeah, I remember Squancho started one of these on, I believe it was, EWBIII, and then brought it to IV before he was banned. PunkRockPete or VerbalPuke did too. Anyways, it's simple. You just rate the person's above you's mix CD, and then you post yours, and the cycle continues. You can comment on why you like the CD and all that trash too, if you wish.

These are some songs I put together last night that are related to my personality in some way or another:

Everything Reminds Me Of Her by Elliot Smith

Blackest Eyes by Porcupine Tree

Honest To A Fault by At The Drive-In

Coffin Builder by Demon Hunter

Regret by John Frusciante

All The Love In The World by Lithium Dawn

World In My Eyes by The Cure

Sick City by Marilyn Manson

Concrete City Breakdown by Green Milk From The Planet Orange

When Good Dogs Do Bad Things by Dillinger Escape Plan

Tomorrow, I'll Be You by Thursday

In A Lonely Place by Joy Division

Ruiner by Nine Inch Nails

I Am Home by Massive Attack

I'll admit, I haven't heard a lot of it, but the songs that I have heard I think are pretty awesome. I especially like the use of The Cure's cover of World In My Eyes, which is the only cover of a Depeche Mode song that is on a par, if not better, than the original.

EDIT: I haven't made a mix CD for ages, so I can't exactly post one....I'm gonna make one tomorrow for someone, so I might edit it in, or post it then, depending. Someone can do thiers below me.

All I've heard off of that mix is Dillinger Escape Plan and Thursday. Not really a fan of Thursday but Dillinger Escape Plan are unreal.

Rise Against - The First Drop

Rage Against the Machine - In My Eyes

Minor Threat - In My Eyes (I wouldn't feel right if I didn't.)

Tiger Army - Power of Moonlite

The Killers - Jenny Was A Friend of Mine

The Code - Battle On (This band are incredible. If you like punk and don't know them, check it out. Most of you probably do, though)

Big D and the Kids Tables - L.A.X

The Offspring - What Happened To You

Dropkick Murphys - Rocky Road to Dublin

Bigger Thomas - Ska In My Pocket

Agnostic Front - Peace

Evergreen Terrace - The Kids Aren't Alright

Sublime - Seed

Sublime - The Ballad of Johnny Butt

As Hope Dies - Letters of our Existence

Bayside - Masterpiece

Jack Johnson - Badfish (Sublime cover)

Mostly random ass songs I love.

Negative points for The Hand That Feeds and The Widow, which are both two of the worst songs each band has ever released and recorded.

Great Morrissey and JB tracks (although not my favourites), TMV, MH and The Cure with solid tracks, and I don't know the Arcade Fire or Thursday tracks.....but all in all, a good collection of stuff.

EDIT: And Tristy, sometimes I get the idea that you just don't seem to like more commercialised output from the bands you are into. The Hand That Feeds did its job well, being a catchy kickstart to the "With Teeth" buzz, and "The Widow" isn't going to be overly amazing, as a lot of thier more complex stuff isn't commercially viable.

Apart from Morrissey, which I admit I haven't really listened to, all of those bands/ artists are great. On paper, Machine Head looks a bit out of place though. :P

I don't like when bands change their style just to get radio airplay or MTV airtime.
