What are your strategies to playing the game?

Oh, it's a great game. So great that you'd think EWB would have had a thread on it in, I dunno, July or something?

Type shadow. What do people do, strategy-wise? I got involved in Kuwait but my popularity dropped to 17 so I took some troops out. After that, Iraq won. I'm slowly building my popularity back up.

Try to prevent Kuwait from ever happening. A completely uninteresting world where there's never any war is the only thing that'll keep your popularity up.

I love this game. My first game, I decided to nuke Austrailia for shits and giggles. I eradicated their country, and then the congress eradicated my presidency.

This time around I commanded a surgical strike into Iraq, and now I'm attempting to have their leader rubbed out.

On a side note, I tried downloading Oregon Trail from that website, but the game ended up making my computer screwy. When I opened the game the main screen looked like the old NES screen when it would glitch up. Anyway, does anybody have any suggestions for other fun games from this site?

I just downloaded this and sent 21 nuclear bombs to Greenland for no apparent reason.

I was impeached about a minute afterwards.

I've never had to access DOS on XP, does anyone know if their is any version installed or do I have to download it? HAS WINDOWS FORGOTTEN THE REAL OS?!

I think there is a version of it installed Benji. I also have no experience with DOS (but I do remember it from years before) on my computer, but these games usually do work for me. I also have xp, so basically you can just download the game and try it out. It should work automatically without having to type in any silly commands.

I have XP and just opening the game works fine. If not, there's a program out there called DOSBOX, which should do the trick.

I love this game. In the space of two days, I'd nuked Canada, France, Australia and Bolivia, had two advisors be killed, another resign and send troops into the UK for a surgical strike against London.

It seems to freeze for me on the opening screen. I get past the screen where it asks for the name of the person who said the quote, then it goes to the Shadow President page with the music, and then nothing. I am running XP, and I have tried it normally and running it in Windows 95 compatibility mode, and still nothing.

Try typing shadow. That's what seems to work for me.
