Cloudy's WWE

Recommended Posts

In the words of the great Jeff Jay-Ay-Double R-e-Double T - Listen up, slapnuts.

This is just a simplistic WWE diary. No fanciful backstory, no "Johnny Ace called me he want me 2 book 4 WWE man i say yes duh uv curse!!!". No elaborate "I was a booker for Promotion X until they fired me. WWE, they quite enjoyed my work to some extent, so I received a call from one Mister Jimmothy R. Ross. He wishes for me to come book WWE. How quaint!"

There'll be none of that here, so if you want a backstory, I got four words for ya -- I'm Kip J-- ..er, that doesn't quite work.

Sorry 'bout your damn luck.

Yeah, it's five words. Yeah, it doesn't really fit the situation. Stuff it, cunt.

Let's get down to business.

It's 2006.

July 2006, to be quite exact.

I've been booking WWE for about nine months, and our popularity has been wavering - the business has been slumping lately.

Due to my rash actions as booker, Amy 'Lita' Dumas hates me.

Brian Gerwitz don't like me.

Neither does Chad Wicks.

Christy Hemme? Bridge burnt.

Hulk Hogan don't like me much either.

Stacy Keibler? Go pillow fight some other damn place, woman.

Despite my terrible people skills, I'm one of the most reputable bookers on the scene right now. I've made a good number of signings to make up for my firings. Here, I'll give you the rundown; We'll start on the RAW side of things.

Aaron "The Idol" Stevens

Debuting on RAW, Stevens is a product of Chaotic Wrestling. He's got 'the look' and talent to boot. After calling him up from OVW, I immediately put him in a simple program squashing my lowercard heels on RAW. That was the birth of The Aaron Stevens Open Challenge.

For months on end, Stevens' challenges were answered by veritable nobodies - The Heart Throbs et. al. His first big victory was over that of the Cool One himself, Carlito. Picking up steam, Stevens kept linin' 'em up and puttin' em down like a goddamn animal vet with terminally ill patients.

On one particular edition of RAW, Stevens went through the motions, making his challenge. The challenge was answered by Smackdown!'s CM Punk (more on him later). Punk was the first to put Stevens away and end his winning streak, much to the dismay of Stevens and the fans. This win for Punk launched him into a feud with Stevens, with both of them constantly getting the upperhand on each other until Stevens went over Punk at Backlash to end the longstanding rivalry.

Nick Dinsmore

Known to most as the lovable retard (yeah, I went there) Eugene, Dinsmore's secret was discovered by Chavo Guerrero. On one edition of RAW, Guerrero went to Bischoff to request a match and overheard Bischoff & Dinsmore talking - 'Eugene' was a ploy, a plot by the two to manipulate the fans. Later that night on RAW, Chavo publicly aired that dirty laundry and the two came out with it, admitting that they were merely manipulating the fans - in part because both were twisted men who enjoyed doing such. Dinsmore attacked Chavo and thus began the feud between the two, with Rob Van Dam in Chavo's corner and Bischoff in Dinsmore's.

Suffice to say, Bischoff wasn't great backup compared to "Mr. Monday Night" himself - so Dinsmore introduced..

Johnny Jeter

Johnny Jeter, Nick Dinsmore's protege. Jeter, Dinsmore, Guerrero & RVD battled for months before Guerrero eventually succumbed to the two after they shelved RVD. After floundering in the midcard for sometime with victories over both Guerrero & RVD, one RAW, Jeter randomly attacked the returning Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels. Jeter, claiming they had some sort of score to settle, constantly attacked and berated HBK before the two settled the score at the grandest stage of them all - WrestleMania. Jeter managed to pull out the victory and put the Heart Break Kid on the shelf for an undetermined amount of time, thus propelling Jeter into the upper midcard.

Afa Jr.

RAW's newest arrival, Afa Jr., son of The Wild Samoan himself, debuted on an edition of RAW where Aaron Stevens re-started the Aaron Stevens Open Challenge. Stevens, seemingly off his game that night, was beaten by the Son Of The Wild Samoan. The next week on RAW, Stevens' music played but out came Afa Jr., announcing that Stevens wasn't going to be in the building tonight. Afa rechristened the Aaron Stevens Open Challenge the Wild Samoan Open Challenge, and his first victi---er, challenger to answer the call, was none other than Val Venis, whom Afa dispatched in just under 10 minutes. The next week's RAW was a repeat, Stevens was still nursing his injuries from the match with Afa, and Viscera answered the challenge this time. In something considered a feat to most, Afa was able to lift Viscera for the Samoan Drop and put the big man away in under 6 minutes.

Stevens returned and Afa was able to put him away with the Samoan Drop, cementing Afa's position within the future of the WWE.

Next up.. The Smackdown! side of things..

As I was reading it in the "what are you doing" thread I was hoping for a diary to come out of it...and it did. Your title scenes are..."interesting" to say the least with Jeter, Stevens, and Afa there on Raw. So far it looks like you've booked realisticly but Jeter going over Michaels wasn't exactly the best thing, even though it does cement him as an upper-midcarder. If Raw is like this I can't wait to see what you've done to Smackdown!'s load of talent in the lower cards and how well they could work with each other. Looking forward to this one Cloudy...wait A Pimp Named Cloudy, forgot that I had to say the whole thing. (Boondocks is the best thing in [as].) :D

Smackdown!

On the Smackdown! side of things we've got;

Angel Williams

There isn't much to say about Melissa 'Angel' Williams. After MNM fired Jillian Hall as their publicist, they brought in Angel as their agent. She's been Melinaing it up recently, helping her men get the victory.

"The Beast" Bobby Lashley

Continuing Lashley's monster push, he's been over the likes of Booker T, JBL, Paul Burchill, Ken Kennedy, and Nunzio. Without much of a character, he's merely an average bigman on the verge of main event stardom. He's the current US Champion.

Gregory Helms

Traded from RAW to Smackdown! in the CM Punk deal, Helms made an impact on Smackdown! in a big way, winning the cruiserweight championship off of Juventud Guerrera in his first match on the show. After floundering around in the midcard, He's finally being given a chance to shine in an upper midcard feud with Rey Mysterio Jr.

Jody Fleisch

Fleisch, having just debuted last month (June), is naught but a faceless cruiserweight - although his 720 DDT has astounded the fans so far. In an effort to push him up the card to feud with Greg Helms, he's been going over the likes of Nunzio and Brian Kendrick recently.

Ken Doane

Brought in as the obnoxious partner of Mr. Ken Kennedy (..Kennedy!), Doane has little character and has been squashing jobbers for most of his stay on Smackdown!

Kid Kash

Debuting by attacking cruiserweight champion Juventud Guerrera at Survivor Series, Kash has been a force to be reckoned with in the cruiserweight division. In his first match, a triple threat at SurSer involving Paul London & Juvi, Kash took the cruiserweight title in what most proclaimed the MOTY. His reign lasted for 3 months before Juvi took the title back.

Mike Mizanin

Faceless cruiserweight, debuting as fodder for Super Crazy on Smackdown!. He's not done much, but has proved that he has charisma and can cut a decent promo - something severely lacking from most competitors in the cruiserweight division.

Up next - champions and championships.

WWE CHAMPIONS

WWE Cruiserweight - Rey Mysterio

Previous Champion: Greg Helms

WWE Heavyweight - Kurt Angle

Previous Champion: Triple H

WWE Intercontinental - Johnny Jeter

Previous Champion: Shelton Benjamin

WWE Tag Team - Vacant

Previous Champions: LOD2005

WWE United States - Bobby Lashley

Previous Champion: Paul Burchill

WWE Women's - Mickie James

Previous Champion: Lita

WWE World Heavyweight - Batista

Previous Champion: William Regal

WWE World Tag Team - The Shane Twins

Previous Champions - Cade & Murdoch

You've got me very interested thus far, and a huge reason for that is the fact that you're not debuting and pushing huge indy talents like A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels. You're using OVW guys, who most writers don't touch and whom we will probably see being brought up into the WWE in the future(besides Jody Fleisch, but who am I to complain about a cruiserweight division with Jody Fleisch?) I'm worried that you might be pushing these guys a little fast, like Jeter immediately defeating HBK at WrestleMania, but that element could end up adding something to the diary. It's just essential that once you get to writing your shows, you paint these characters thoroughly for us. Give us more of the gimmick, as from the recap I haven't seen genuine characters debuting so much as guys getting into storylines. I wanna know more about Jeter's actual character, not that he was debuted as Dinsmore's partner and feuded with HBK, you know? How well you draw out these characters will be a decisive factor in this diary, I believe. You have certainly got the WWE going in an interesting direction with these new characters and champions, which is what really draws me to this diary.

Regal was World Champion? Wow!

I'm really liking what I've seen so far in terms of writing and in terms of booking skill. It seems like you've got the right mind to book WWE (if thats a compliment :ohwell: ) I was intrigued by what you posted when you were talking about your game, and I'm intrigued to see the diary based on the game.

This should be a great ride man, good luck! :)

The Shane Twins Open Challenge

To start RAW, out come the Shane Twins – Mike And Todd – And for those of you who haven't been keeping up lately, The Shane Twins are the hoss tag team that signed a developmental deal with the WWE some time ago. Winning the tag titles on their debut night, personally, I've never heard them cut a promo. Here we go.. Todd Shane has the mic.

"We've ran through just about every team here in the WWE for months on end, waiting for a challenge. We beat Cade and Murdoch. We beat Viscera & Val Venis. We beat The Heart Throbs…"

Mike Shane takes the mic.

"..although, that's not really a feat, is it?" He laughs, the crowd cheers a little, and he passes the mic back to Todd.

"So we're out here to make an open challenge to anyone in the back. Come on, take us on, see if you can beat us. Just.."

Mike takes the mic back.

"..try us."

They drop the mic and await their challengers, if any.

Their Challenge Is Answered

Out to no music whatsoever, here comes Smackdown!'s America's Most Wanted. Ever since being stolen from TNA, AMW have been floundering around on Smackdown!, their only notable feud being one with MNM for the tag titles, which didn't really get AMW anywhere. The crowd pops as Storm brings the mic to his mouth.

"So ya want a challenge, do ya?" In Storm's other hand is a bottle of beer – he takes a swig from it and grins, passing the mic to 'Wildcat' Chris Harris.

"Well then, you got yourself a challenge!"

The Shane Twins drop the titles as AMW rush the ring, starting our first match of the night.

The Shane Twins vs. America's Most Wanted

AMW slide into the ring and The Shane Twins are immediately on the offensive, stomping them before they can even get up. Mike continues to stomp away at Wildcat as Todd whips James Storm into the ropes, knocking him down with a powerful clothesline. Quick pin by Todd Shane.. only garners a two count. Wildcat sends Mike Shane out of the ring and the two brawl at ringside, thus distracting the ref. Uh-oh.. I think I can see what's coming. Cowboy's got the beer bottle.. and he shatters it over the head of Todd Shane. Um, how are they gonna cover up that broken glass? Whatever. James Storm pins Todd for the 3 count, then spits on Shane as he gets up.. there it is! "Sorry 'bout your damn luck", Storm says. I guess this means they're heels on RAW now?

It's A Celebration!

After the commercial break we come back to a shot of the ring, all decorated up and such, with CM Punk standing in the middle, a suit on and a cold smirk on his face. He's got a microphone.. this oughta be good.

Punk: "You know, I feel a celebration is in order – why's that?" pause. "I beat that miscreant. That painted up glow in the dark freak. That substance-abusing jackass that all the ladies fawn over. That TNA reject – I beat Jeff Hardy!" smirk. "Ever since his brother tucked tail and ran from the WWE, Jeffy's been trying to fill his brother's void. Awww, ain't that just sweet?" A mocking laugh. "Well, I—"

Suddenly, Jeff Hardy's music interrupts a surprised Punk.

Whatcha Gonna Do When Shit Hits The Fan?

Hardy's got a mic. Dear lord, who gave Jeff Hardy a microphone?!

Hardy: "You know, you can come out here and talk all the crap you want about my brother, about my family – but why? Why, huh?" Uhhh..logical feud progression, Jeff? "Why don't you say it.. to.. my.. face?" Uh-oh.

Punk raises the mic to his lips.

Punk: "Fine, then I will. Jeff Hardy, you're nothing but a substance-abusing piece of trash. Your brother is a coward. Go back to that second-rate WCW, why don't you?"

Oohhhh.

Hardy: "You know what? Why settle this with words when we can settle it in THAT VERY RING?" Pop, probably largely in part from all the preteen girls in the crowd.

Punk: "Hahaha.. Oh, are you serious, Jeffy?" Mocking laugh. "I don't have anything to prove to you!" Punk drops the mic and rolls out of the ring, staring Hardy down as we go to commercial.

Afa Jr. vs. Val Venis

Back from commercial break, and Afa's in the ring. They're pushing him, yet treating him like a jobber. Don't really get that. Whatever. Val Venis makes his usual entrance sans Viscera tonight due to Afa's recent actions, the bell rings, and the match is on. Collar and elbow tie-up, Venis goes behind Afa, waistlock, attempts a german, Afa blocks. Afa with a kick to the sac (did the ref not see it?), Venis goes down. No, not like that. Pervert. Afa comes off the ropes with a swinging neckbreaker, pin, two count. Afa brings Venis up and whips him.. off the ropes.. Samoan Drop! Afa signals.. he's going up top. Climbs the ropes.. Frog splash, 3 count. It's over. Decent squash. Why doesn't Val Venis ever get better? HE DEMANDS BETTER.

Shel-abrate good times, c'mon!

Returning from commercial break, Shelton Benjamin is backstage celebrating his recent victory over IC Champ Johnny Jeter. Bischoff comes in to congratulateShelton, and Shelton requests another match – this time, for the title! Bisch says he'll think it over and leaves.

Dark Rooms Mean Trouble

Backstage still, we're visiting with the lovely Trish, who's getting ready. Um, I thought this was wrestling – not softcore porn? Suddenly, we see John Cena enter and the lights go out. Muffled shouting, some pounding (not like that), and then we see Cena emerge with a sadistic smirk on his face. The lights are back on and a battered Trish is laying on the floor. Well, if this doesn't cement Cena as a heel, what does? Commercial break.

Aaron Stevens vs. Doug Basham

Poor Doug, stuck with no gimmick. Jobber fodder, the only difference? He's on RAW now. Stevens comes out with some random ringrats. What does he think he is?! – Oh, wait, yeah. Nevermind. That's his gimmick. Stevens dispatches both rats with a kiss and slides into the ring. Do you know where those women have been, young man?! Anyway.. yeah, wrestling. Stevens starts the match off by pummeling poor Dougie. Absolutely demolishing him. Stevens hits the Downer,1-2-3 , over. Wait, you know what? This match went on for 10 minutes. Um.. why? If it's gonna be a squash at least make it a short one.

A Request

Back from commercial, Jeff Hardy's in Eric Bischoff's office. Wonder why? We'll find out.

Hardy: "Bischoff, I want a match with CM Punk!" Hey, wow, at least he's blunt?

Bischoff: "I'm afraid I can't really do that, Jeff. I can't give Punker a match, he needs his rest!"

Hardy glares at a smirking Bischoff, before storming out of the office. Um.. bland, anyone? As Hardy leaves, He runs into CM outside his office. Punk mocks and taunts Hardy, before pushing his way into Bischoff's office. OoooOOOooh.

More Tomfoolery From That Wacky Cena

Well, he's not really wacky anymore. More.. demented misogynist rapper now. Anyway, backstage again after the commercial break. Cena peeks in on HBK, who's partying it up in his dressing room. HBK knooows! He opens the door to face Cena.

HBK: "What the hell are you doing, Cena?!"

Cena: "HEEEEEEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!"

Um.. that was creepy. Seriously. Cena begins to pummel away at HBK, before officials come to break them up. Wow, Cena is really.. odd.. tonight, to say the least.

Carlito vs. Chavito

Back to the ring, Carlito and Chavo are going to square off. Oh, forgot to mention, they each made their entrances before the Cena/HBK debacle. Aaaanyway. Tie-up, square off, yucka-yucka. A lot of great spot work from Chavo, and a lot of.. really bland wrestling from Carlito. He still doesn't have a finisher. I dunno why, but that irritates me. Don't ask me. Chavo with the three amigos.. up top.. frog splash! In a nice little tribute to his Uncle.1-2-3, match is over. Not bad!

DDP vs. Edge

Special attraction match! One of 4085043 rematches between the two, DDP BANGS! His way out to a nice little pop, followed by Edge. Does Edge still have that MITB? Why yes, he does. There's the briefcase. Hasn't this run its course? Whatever. Before the bell even rings, DDP is hammering away at Edge. Referee wisely throws the briefcase out of the ring as DDP and Edge lock-up. Edge goes around behind DDP, waistlock, catches DDP off guard with a nice german suplex. Quick pin, two count, ref turns his back for something, Edge low blows DDP. Ouchies. Ref turns back around, and here's DDP arguing with him about that low blow. Bad move. Edge throws a chair into the ring. Oh, I think I see what he's doing. Ref scrambles to get the chair out of the ring.. aaaaand, predictably enough, here's Edge with a briefcase shot to DDP.

1, 2, 3. Over. Not bad, but that finish is SO overused.

Kane vs. Kurt Angle

A friendly bout between two faces. Yeah, right. I wonder what's gonna happen? Anyway.. match starts, Kane almost immediately goes for the chokeslam. Cena's music hits, Kane turns around. Whew. For a minute I thought they were going to have Kane squash their Heavyweight champion. Cena attacks Kane.. Angle, though, attacks Cena. Double team on Cena. Angle puts him away with an Angle Slam, Kane picks him up and chokeslams him back down. Angle's got a mic. Yay!

Angle: "Cena, I am SICK of your random attacks on the other wrestlers in the back! What you did to Trish was despicable – you proved that you lack integrity to everyone! Cena, You are horrible!" Angle spits on Cena, crowd pops. Aaand we're off the air.

FINAL RATING: A*

RAW Notes

The real reason Nelson 'Viscera' Frazier wasn't accompanying Venis to ringside tonight is that WWE has recently ended his contract. Apparently, Frazier was very unhappy with the recent booking.

Last night's Chavo/Carlito match was meant as a blowoff to their feud.

The Undertaker's contract is up within a week, and WWE is not expected to renew it. This makes one wonder if 'Taker will just retire or if TNA will try to pick him up. Apparently, their logic is "let 'Taker bankrupt TNA, but we're not paying him that much". Rumor has it he wanted upwards of $40,000 per month. Yikes.

After last night's comments, WWE and TNA are "officially" (if you can call it that) at war. I also have it on good authority that WWE is trying to strike a working deal with Pro Wrestling NOAH - They have working agreements with NJPW & CMLL right now.

Quicknote: Christ, that show looks small as fuck. 4 pages in word, over 1500 words.. well, I'll probably bone up on my writing soon

Pretty good first show, I understand your trying to find your groove style wise.

A few things I didn't like, I didn't like how much everything was spaced out, I think it'd be better closer together. Maybe you can use - in between the matches and angles with a few spaces, rather then a bunch.

As for the actual booking. I don't really get the random Cena attacks at this point, maybe it just hasn't run it's course yet, and why is there just a random match with your World Heavyweight Champion invovled? Don't get it. Actually, I didn't really get the Hardy/Bischoff altercation either.

It was a alright first show, but there is a lot that can be improved upon.

Storyline progression, mate.

The random Cena attacks.. well, I'll spill it, I've been running a loose cannon storyline with Cena, and it's at its tail-end now.

Random matches with my heavyweight champion involved.. eh, not too far off from the real deal.

Hardy/Bischoff was, again, storyline progression. In the storyline in particular, it progresses as such: Heel Celebrates, Face Demands A Match, Heel Refuses, Face Goes to Authority Figure (who turns down the match request) etc.

As for the spacing and excess coding; I'll go back through and fix that. I'm not using the standard editor, I'm using the RTF Editor (so that way, when I copy and paste my shows from Word, I don't have to go through and code everything.. lazy, I know.)

Well since I pressed you to start this diary, I might as well review/rant on it huh?

Yeah, I thought so too.

The only thing I disliked about your BS was the fact that while you let us know who the newbies were and what they were involved in, you never gave us any real info on anyone else. what was HHH, Cena, Flair, Batista and the like doing? So now that we are into real shows, we have to learn on the fly. Like we have to do with AMW and The Shane Twins.

So AMW get a super push off the bat but AMW flounder? That's so WWE. I am sure that when The Shane's super push ends they too will flounder if you're like the real WWE. My only issue here is why were AMW, SD talent, at Raw to even answer the open challenge? Oh we've all seen it and done it before, but looking at it logically, it really makes no sense does it? Think about that sometime.

So was that match FOR the titles, or just a match? It's never clearly stated, and the ending doesn't SAY anything about the titles, so i'm left unsure.

Good Heel situation involving Punk, nice Face challenge from Hardy, and yet I'm left wondering where Matt went.

Nice little Afa Jr squash that allows us a little bit of insight into his character, albeit not much.

Heel Cena? Cool. Attacking a woman in the dark? Uhhhh...why???

A Ten Minute Squash???? Was Booker Cloudy trying to eat up time in his TEW2005 game or what?

Man Cena is insane. I hope to god this gets explained.

Yannow, just a heads up, but I had no idea when this was taking place. I had to search your BS to see that we were in July of 2006. Maybe for the next show you could remind us?

Why does Edge still have the MITB when it had to be used by WMXXII? Why is DDP in WWE? Why are these two feuding? You need to provide more answers as we go along, as I really feel lost.

Okay, Angle's a face. Cena's (obviously) a heel. Kane's a face. See, I'm learning. Nice little nothing angle developing ME. I liked it.

Overall your game gave you an A+. I'm not so kind. My Grade is a C+. The booking is fine, although why Jeff just didn't attack Punk in the hall is an odd choice, but I just feel like I'm not really involved because I don't know what's going on with whom and why.

Afterwards I read your reasoning for things, and it all makes sense. But why didn't you TELL us that Cena has been a loose cannon for months now? And why has he been doing it? Oh yeah Angle mentions being tired of Cena randomly attacking people, but what's the reason for the actions? Did he snap when Angle won the title? Did he snap at the fans booing him? Is it his time of the month? Gotta fill us in on things when you are months into your game.

That show was just....blargh. I liked the little backstory on the characters, but so many things in that show made no sense at all. Cena, one of the most popular guys in WWE, suddenly gets stuffed an insane rapper gimmick? I thought that this was going to be somewhat realistic.

As for the writing itself, it wasn't very good. The promos weren't good...at all. Most of them were only a few sentences, and they were incredibly bland. They weren't even like the characters themselves half of the time, and they showed little to no emotion. Lines like "You are despicable!" Kurt Angle isn't boring like that.

Another gripe I have is that you wrote part of the promo, or the entire promo, but on other segments you just wrote a summary. Either write the promos out in full (with more detail and emotion please) or just write a summary like you did in some of them.

I probably should have made note of it in the RAW Notes, but AMW were traded to RAW for The Heart Throbs.

So was that match FOR the titles, or just a match? It's never clearly stated, and the ending doesn't SAY anything about the titles, so i'm left unsure.

That's some overlooking on my part, I just forgot to tag on "Non-Title Match".

Good Heel situation involving Punk, nice Face challenge from Hardy, and yet I'm left wondering where Matt went.

I'll explain where Matt went on Smackdown!

Nice little Afa Jr squash that allows us a little bit of insight into his character, albeit not much.

(Y) More will be explained in coming RAWs.

Heel Cena? Cool. Attacking a woman in the dark? Uhhhh...why???

I probably should have mentioned the loose cannon stuff earlier in my game. (Y)

*cough*yes*cough*.

(Y) It will.

Yannow, just a heads up, but I had no idea when this was taking place. I had to search your BS to see that we were in July of 2006. Maybe for the next show you could remind us?

(Y) Can do.

Why does Edge still have the MITB when it had to be used by WMXXII? Why is DDP in WWE? Why are these two feuding? You need to provide more answers as we go along, as I really feel lost.

I'll admit that I can't explain the MITB thing. I forgot that it runs out on WMXXII. Whoops. As for DDP, I'll explain that here -- More or less, I brought him in in a 'Hulk Hogan' role. A Semi-Active Wrestler, who, unlike Hogan, doesn't have any problem putting people over. To keep him happy he scores the occasional victory.

Okay, Angle's a face. Cena's (obviously) a heel. Kane's a face. See, I'm learning. Nice little nothing angle developing ME. I liked it.

TGC

Can do, will do. (Y)

As for the first part about HHH, Batista, etc. I'll write up a summary on what they've been doing since November. (Y)

Cena, one of the most popular guys in WWE, suddenly gets stuffed an insane rapper gimmick?

Er, have you been watching Cena lately? He gets booed just as much as he gets cheered. From all reports, the crowd was split between Cena & Angle at SurSer Sunday night. I'd hardly call him "one of the most popular guys" in WWE.

Without further adieu, here is a summary of what our main eventers have been achieving lately.

Batista

Batista is still our Smackdown! World Heavyweight Champion, having only lost it once, to William Regal. He's been engaged in feuds with the likes of William Regal (who, along with his protege Paul Burchill, attacked Batista repeatedly while Regal demanded a title shot) and his former Evolution stablemate, Randy Orton. Currently, Batista's not embroiled in any feuds -- although Chris Benoit and JBL are vying for #1 contendership.

Booker T

After winning the US Title from the Rabid Wolverine via the underhanded tactics of Sharmell, Benoit confronted Booker, who proceeded to lay him out backstage, thus turning Booker heel. Since then, Booker has been embroiled in feuds with Bobby Lashley (who took the US Title off Booker) and The Undertaker, who answered Booker T's open challenge on one edition of Smackdown!

Chris Benoit

Since losing the US Title to Booker T, Benoit has been embroiled in bitter feuds with the likes of Randy Orton and John 'Bradshaw' Layfield. Currently, he's battling JBL for #1 Contendership to the Smackdown! World Heavyweight Championship.

Edge

Edge, one of RAW's top players, has been feuding most recently with Shelton Benjamin and Diamond Dallas Page. Edge ended Benjamin's winning streak by cheating; Shelton, however, returned the favour when Edge went on a winning streak. Brought in by Benjamin, DDP has been allying with him in order to take Edge down.

John 'Bradshaw' Layfield

Layfield, the rich, snobby Texan, has been up to all of his old tricks. As of late, he's been feuding with Chris Benoit over #1 Contendership to Batista's title; The feud is in a deadlock now, and it's unknown as to who will be able to take the #1 Contendership.

John Cena

Since losing the title to Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble, John Cena had been on the verge of snapping. On the Week 3 April edition of RAW, Cena finally snapped, attacking the newly-turned face Kurt Angle. Since then, Cena's been attacking people at random with no mercy - including WWE's lovely divas. In denial over his title loss and the crowd's hatred for him, Cena is out to take the title off of Kurt Angle.

Kane

After losing the tag team titles back to Cade & Murdoch, Kane & The Big Show have been competing in tag matches as well as helping out Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angle

After winning the title from John Cena in a Triple Threat Match also involving Triple H at the Royal Rumble, the next night on RAW, HHH himself attacked Angle with the sledgehammer. Some weeks later Angle proclaimed he was tired of HHH's bullsh** and turned face. Since then, he's been locked in battle with both Triple H and John Cena.

Paul Burchill

The protege of William Regal, Burchill is a part of the British Uprising team along with Regal. After losing the US Title thanks to the re-debuting Brock Lesnar, Burchill's been engaged in a vicious feud with the man.

Randy Orton

The "Legend Killer" himself, Orton's been involved in the World Heavyweight title scene by feuding with champion Batista, and is currently aiming to take down Chris Benoit, whom most (as well as Orton himself) consider a 'legend'.

Rey Mysterio

Surprised, ja? Mysterio has been a consistant main event worker, able to bring out a good match in near everyone on the Smackdown! roster. Currently feuding with Gregory Helms, at first for the Cruiserweight title - but after Helms attacked Rey's friends, The Mexicools, it's now a personal issue.

Shawn "HBK" Michaels

40 years old and still able to go, HBK has proven an invaluable part of the RAW roster. Recently, HBK has been feuding with Johnny Jeter, Nick Dinsmore's protege, who has been hailed as being the "HBK of the next generation".

Shelton Benjamin

Feuding with the likes of Edge and Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin has been a breakout star on RAW. He's got nowhere to go but up (Y)

Triple H

The Cerebral Assassin, Trips had been engaged in a long battle with mentor Ric Flair. These battles culminated in Triple H retiring Flair, who is now an announcer on RAW alongside Dusty Rhodes & Jerry Lawler after Coach was fired. Currently vying for the Heavyweight title held by Kurt Angle - Triple H will stop at nothing to win it.

Just a note, you don't actually have to defend yourself there as you could argue that Edge used his MITB title shot on raw that time, and the shot he has remaining is the Goldrush Tournament one which I don't think had an expiry date.

I'm liking the character development and story as a whole, the only thing I could recommend is better laying out on your shows, I am unsure as to why, but I find your shows harder to read than some other peoples, and I really have to force myself to read it rather than wanting to. Though that could be just me (Y)

Tuesday, Week 3 Smackdown July 2006 – At the Cumberland County Civic Centre

A hype video for tonight’s Main Event, JBL vs. Chris Benoit for #1 Contendership to Batista’s title, plays. Clips are shown of JBL attacking Benoit backstage, Benoit locking on the Crippler Crossface, JBL hitting the Clothesline From Hell, and Benoit executing the Diving Headbutt.

Going into the show, the announcers, Tazz & Joey Styles, make mention of the fact that tonight we’ll also be seeing Brock Lesnar take on Paul Burchill.

The Heart Throbs vs. LOD2005

To the ring, The Heart Throbs make their entrance to almost no reaction, followed by LOD2005 who receive a sizeable pop. Wow, this is gonna be an evenly matched bout. Not. Total squash match, with The Heart Throbs getting little in the way of offense. Why bother with putting The Heart Throbs on Smackdown! Anyway? Doomsday Device, 1-2-3. Blech.

Valentina vs. Angel Williams

We’re back, and we’re gonna have some women’s wrestling on Smackdown. First out is Angel Williams, accompanied by Melina. Next out is Valentina, who looks smoking tonight. This was a pretty basic women’s match that saw Valentina pick up the victory with the Tornado DDT after Melina’s interference backfires.

MNM Attacks

Backstage, The Mexicools are partying it up with some girls, drinks, and good food.

Juvi: “Hey man, me an’ Crazy gonna go get some more to drink, okay?”

Psicosis nods as Juvi and Super Crazy leave the scene. Right after they do, here come MNM, who attack! The girls scatter and MNM continue to beat Psicosis down. After giving him The Snapshot, they walk away and we go to commercial break.

Juvi’s Challenge

We come back from commercial break and Juvi is the ring, and he looks pissed. Super Crazy is with him.

Juvi: “MNM! Da Juice knows what you little rameras did to Psicosis back there!” Pause, crowd pops a bit. “I’m challenging you both to come out here and FACE ME!” Crowd pops, MNM’s music cues up, here’s Johnny Nitro sans Mercury & Melina.

Nitro: “Both of us? Are you really sure you can handle that, Juice?” Nitro snickers. “Before you try to take us both on, you’re gonna have to go through ME.. and you’re gonna have to go right now!” Nitro rushes the ring and we’ve got a match.

Juvi vs. Johnny Nitro

Nitro hammers away at Juvi with a series of left and right hands, but Da Juice fires back with a series of rights and lefts of his own. Juvi whips Nitro into the ropes and follows it up with a hurricanrana that sends Johnny Nitro to the outside. While Juvi distracts the ref, Super Crazy is on the outside, pummeling away at Nitro. Here comes Mercury followed by Melina, Mercury attacks Super Crazy and Melina urges Nitro back into the ring. Nitro slides back in and attacks a prone Juvi, who’s still jaw-jacking with the referee. Nitro whips Juvi into the ropes, bends over, but does so too soon. Juvi clubs Nitro in the back and bounds off the ropes, swinging neckbreaker. Juvi goes for the pin, but Melina’s up on the ring apron. The ref’s distracted.. Joey Mercury slides in, MNM give Juvi the Snapshot, Mercury slides out, and Melina’s off the apron. Here’s Nitro with the cover.. 3 count. Nitro wins.

Stevie Richards vs. Paul London

Back from commercial break, Stevie Richards comes out followed by Paul London. Looks like we’re getting Stevie/London. Not bad. Starts with a standard collar and elbow tie-up, Stevie throws London into the corner – moves to the opposite corner, and Stevie goes for a splash but London’s able to move out of the way. Stevie eats a turnbuckle and stumbles backward, London attempts a quick roll-up, but only gets a two. Stevie’s a bit miffed at London, it seems. London charges Stevie and is able to hit a flying forearm, knocking Stevie down. London pulls Stevie up, but Stevie’s able to get off a few punches to the midsection to double London over. Stevie bounds off the ropes, but London’s still fresh enough to counter with a shoulder toss. Nice. London with the pin.. just a two count though. London yanks Stevie up and suplexes him to the mat. Lifts him up, a second suplex. A third suplex from London, in front of the turnbuckle. Could it be? London goes up top and comes off with a beautifully executed Shooting Star Press. 3 count, it’s over.

Bobby Lashley vs. Ken Kennedy

Up next, we’ve got Mr. Ken Kennedy.. Kennedy taking on Bobby Lashley. This match is for the United States title. Lashley tosses Kennedy around the ring for a while, with Kennedy getting very little in the way of actual defense. Yeah, squash match. Kennedy gets a couple strikes in during the entire match, but Lashley ends it in about 7 minutes with a brutal looking Dominator.

Nicho Makes The Save

Back from commercial break, we immediately come back to MNM beating Juvi down backstage. Where’s Super Crazy? No matter, here comes Psicosis, followed by Crazy. The two of them battle with MNM, eventually driving them off. They help Juvi up, and we go back to the ring where Paul Burchill’s already made his entrance.

Paul Burchill vs. Brock Lesnar

Lesnar makes his entrance, and the crowd gives a sizeable pop. He’s fairly over. This was a pretty good big-man match that saw Lesnar hit the F-5 and Burchill finally bust out the AMAZING C4.. although he still finished it with a Fujiwara Armbar. ‘Kay. Also of note, Lesnar busted out the Shooting Star Press, although Burchill was able to get out of the way. Burchill wins. It was also announced during this match that the winner would get a shot at Bobby Lashley’s US Title.

Chris Benoit vs. JBL

Pretty damn good match that saw JBL hit the Clothesline From Hell for a two and a half count, Benoit hit the diving headbutt for a 2 count, and Batista on commentary with Styles and Tazz. The match lasted for about 18 minutes, and saw Benoit win it with the Crippler Crossface, causing JBL to tap. Afterward, Benoit took the mic and challenged Batista to a World Heavyweight Championship match.

Benoit: “Batista, I’ve got nothing but respect for you, but come Sunday – come Great American Bash – I’m going to give you a run for your money for that World Heavyweight Championship.” He drops the mic and rolls out of the ring as Batista takes his headset off and stands. The two have a staredown as Smackdown! Goes off the air.

FINAL RATING: B-

WWE News & Notes

It's expected that Shelly "Halloween Desire" Martinez and Beth Phoenix will be debuting very soon, presumably in an attempt to beef up the Women's division. The idea of a Smackdown! Women's championship is also in the works, but nothing's final at this stage.

Great American Bash so far:

Batista vs. Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship

Rey Mysterio vs. Gregory Helms (Cruiserweight title on the line?)

Kurt Angle vs. John Cena for the Heavyweight Championship

Shelton Benjamin vs. Johnny Jeter for the Intercontinental Championship

Bobby Lashley vs. Paul Burchill w/ William Regal for the United States Championship

Mickie James vs. Victoria for the Women's Championship

More will probably be added.

GAB is both brands, interesting...

Good show, like the format, looks like you changed the writing a bit. Really like the fonts and stuff, I disliked them on the first show.

The only thing that confused me was the MNM/Mexicool stuff, first why would Nitro make Juice go through him to get two of them? Doesn't make sense at all to me...And second, judging by the match lengths there was about 20 minutes inbetween the end of the Nitro/Juice match and then brawling backstage? Does that mean they beat him down for 20 minutes and then finally someone caught it backstage? That was my only big problem with the show, but I also wanted to know why Lesnar is being treated like such an undercarder after being an ex-WWE champ and a huge fan favouite/heel, now he's getting alright pops and in the US title ranks...

I've done away with the idea of brand-specific PPVs, there's not nearly enough talent to pull it off.

And where do you get 20 minutes from?

Your diary is meh. I like everytihng but the shows.

The writing style is not good at all in my opinion because of the smarkish comments from you etc. I still don't know who won Lesnar v Burchill... I need a more straight to the point writing style not "Oh look its CM Punk , This is going to be good ". The promos are really plain and need to be made longer. Your segments need more description. Your matches are allright just i think you should cut the weird comments and make it clearer who won.

Don't get me wrong i actually like your diary and think it has potential just the shows are .. iffy.

P.S Cena is actually one of the most popular wrestlers if not the most as he still gets the biggest pop on RAW .. ( Thats a response to the comment you made to a guy earlier )
