wow, man...that was just AWESOME!! Absolutely loved the Triple Main Event, especially the Joe/Cabana feud ender, and just thinking about what Homicide did after completely asnnihilating Haas...is just sick! Can't wait for the next show, should be awesome to see what's next for the Pack, Cabana, and if Homicide does infact dethrone Shelley. KUTGW!

A great show as usual. I'm also intrigued to as what Samoa Joe and the Pack and Colt Cabana will be up to next now that there feud is over. I'm hoping that the Daniels/Sydal feud is not over yet because that ending to the match left a sour taste in everyone's mouth. Matt Sydal must have his revenge! Awesome that SJK went over! The post-match brawl between Haas and Homicide was great and it's really turning out to be a great blood feud. Who knows what kind of sick twisted shit Homicide will do next. Alex Shelley retaining was a foregone conclusion but I knew it would be a competitive match. Right now I don't see anyone with enough momentum to take the title off of him but Homicide. However you know Charlie Haas is going to get involved in the match. I wanted Roderick Strong to go over in the four-way but they were also in New York, Homicide's hometown, then again the fans were booing him so meh <_<

JIMMY JACOBS today signed an exclusive deal with ROH as part of ROH's drive to sign many of its top stars to written deals. Jacobs was an ROH regular as well as a regular in IWA:MS, where he was a former World Champion. He also made a single apperance recently for the APW promotion.

Looks like a very good tournament as there really isn't a clear cut winner in this one. It's up for grabs as there's some great competition. Although I'm kinda dissapointed that there isn't enough "international flavor" in the tournament. I would've liked to see Milano Collection AT in the tourny myself. None the less I'll be reading especially for the fued ender between Charlie and 'Cide.

APW - King of the Lightweights 2007, Night One

April 20th 2007

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Final Card:

King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One:

A1: Jay Lethal vs. KUDO

--- I'd like to think KUDO, but Lethal seems in line for his next push.

A2: Delirious vs. Brandon Thomaselli

--- Seriously, it would be a MAJOR upset after how Delirious has been booked to date.

B1: Jerry Lynn vs. 'The Generic Luchadore' El Generico

--- Whilst I'd like to think that the Lightweights won't just be dominated by already established stars, I see a Lynn v Reyes match in the making.

B2: Sedrick Strong vs. Ricky Reyes

--- See above.

C1: Spud vs. Hallowicked

--- Any Spud win is a shock win. Doesn't matter, though. Who ever wins will lose to winner of match below.

C2: International Dream Match: Matt Sydal vs. Mistico

--- Would be hugely surprised if Mistico was booked to lose in this. Would make sense for him to go far.

Steel Cage Match

To end the Blood Feud!

'The Notorious 187' Homicide vs. Charlie Haas

--- Just a guess.

APW Championship

Alex Shelley © vs. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' Roderick Strong

--- I think Shelley's got one or two big matches left in him yet before he drops it.

APW Tag Team Championships

Matt Sydal and Delirious © vs. The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes/Rocky Romero)

--- Heels are alays better champs in the long run. Could have a storyline about both Reyes and Delirious still being in the tourney.

p.s. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAN!

  • 1 month later...

Thats sodding great, I finally get an update done on Thursday, and my internet connection crashes! Well, its fixed now, so here goes. Not sure how long this'll be going, but enjoy!

King of the Lightweights 2007, Night One

April 20th 2007

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

--- Interviews kick off the home release as normal. Alex Shelley did a quick interview, basically on self hype duty about his APW Championship reign and how great he was and how he was gonna beat Roderick Strong later tonight. Charlie Haas did an interview. Rather than a long, emotional interview about the whole war with Homicide, he just said that tonight was the night it all came to an end, and he sure as hell was going to settle the score once and for all.

1)APW Tag Team Championships

MATT SYDAL and DELIRIOUS def. THE HAVANA PITBULLS (13:54). Sydal pinned Reyes, although the referee didn't see that Reyes' foot was on the bottom rope. Very good opener. Because it wasn't as long as it might have been and due to three of the men having another match later, the 'feeling out process' wasn't that long at all and they just went right into the quicker action. A fair portion of the match was The Pitbulls wearing down Delirious, almost beating him when Reyes locked in his 'Dragon Sleeper' until he made the hot tag to Sydal a couple of minutes later. Sydal hit his 'Belly to Belly Moonsault' on Romero around eleven minutes in, bur Reyes was on hand to make the save. A back and forth finish saw both sides almost steal it, before Delirious dived to the floor to take out Romero, leaving Sydal in the ring. Sydal and Reyes battled on for a half a minute or so, before Sydal hit a 'Uranage' and went for the cover, 1-2-Reyes sticks his leg on the bottom rope – but the referee doesn't see it-3! Sydal and Delirious, oblivious to the foot on the rope celebrate with their belts before a cheering crowd. The Havana Pitbulls protest to the referee, but to no avail. They leave ringside looking very pissed off, kicking at the ring steps and crowd barriers and shouting at the fans. Sydal and Delirious retain the titles, in controversial circumstances! Very good match.

2) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

JAY LETHAL def. KUDO (11:13) in an above average match. Fairly decent action that Lethal controlled about sixty-forty. KUDO came close to getting a win once or twice, but it always looked like the former APW lightweight Champion would win, and he did when KUDO went for a top rope cross-body, but Lethal ducked the attack, causing KUDO to crash into the canvas, before Lethal hit the 'Dragon Suplex' for the 1-2-3. Pleasing first match of the tournament.

3) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

DELIRIOUS def. BRANDON THOMASELLI (10:04) in a good match. Brandon got a fair bit more offence in than some may have thought, as they played on Delirious being a little tired having a second match so soon after his first. Brandon worked over the torso and back of Delirious during the match that featured a fair bit of the usual comedy from Delirious. Despite having a fair amount of offence, most people weren't convinced that Brandon would win this match though, and for a second match in a row, a top-rope manoeuvre backfired as Brandon power-slammed Delirious, then went up top for a '450 Splash'. Delirious rolled out of the way of the move however, and hit the 'Bizzaro Driver' for the win and to set up a semi-final clash with Jay Lethal!

4) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

JERRY LYNN def. 'The Generic Luchadore' EL GENERICO (13:53) in a very enjoyable 'X' style match-up. Back and forth, quick action as you'd expect. Lynn had more of the match, and certainly started the stronger of the two, looking like he was going to advance to the semi-finals quickly here. Generico through fought back well, starting with a drop-kick that sent Lynn flying through the ropes, then following up with a great suicide-dive around five minutes in that had the crowd on their feet. The match continued in a back and forth way, with Generico escaping an attempt at the 'Cradle Piledriver', and Lynn avoiding defeat to several quick pins from Generico, before Lynn was able to counter the 'Brainbustaaah' by landing behind Generico, before spinning him round and hitting the 'Cradle Piledriver' for the win! Good lightweight encounter, Lynn looked very focused and fired-up for the tournament.

5) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

RICKY REYES def. SEDRICK STRONG in a solid match-up (13:26). Nothing particularly memorable, but just good wrestling from bell to bell. High after his first singles win in APW last show, Sedrick started well, countering Reyes often and getting in a lot of offence, before Reyes was able to get back into the match, wearing Sedrick down with continued attacks to the torso. Sedrick fought back a few times, and almost took the match with the 'Stronghold' around ten minutes in, but Reyes was too close to the ropes. The back and forth finish saw Reyes lock in the 'Dragon Sleeper'. Sedrick fought and fought to try and escape the hold, but was bang in the middle of the ring, eventually having no choice but to tap out! Reyes advances to night two to face Jerry Lynn!

6) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

HALLOWICKED def. SPUD with the 'Monsta Mash' (12:39) in a slightly disappointing match. That's not to say it was bad, it was a decent effort, but it wasn't what it could have been, and was a bit sloppy in places. It picked up as it went along, because the opening few minutes were quite bland. After these opening minutes, Hallowicked began to dominate the smaller Spud, but couldn't hit a big move that might end the match, and Spud was always close to coming back into proceedings. Both traded pinfalls, and Spud almost won with a great looking tornado DDT for a very believable two. Hallowicked came close to capturing the match with a step-up frankensteiner as the match got a bit better later on, before he eventually won with his trademark move to advance to the semi-finals and keep his impressive win/loss record looking healthy. Spud on the other-hand still has no big singles win in APW.

7) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Round One

MATT SYDAL def. MISTICO (15:16) in an excellent first-round match. An all-out fast paced match that never let down from bell to bell. The match started with a very fast opening as the pair speedily exchanged arm-drags and quick counters as they looked to gain an advantage over the other. This sequence ended in Sydal being dumped to the floor, and Mistico running and connecting with a great looking Tope to the floor! The crowd were wild for this end to the opening exchanges. Mistico controlled the middle part of the match from here, cutting Sydal off from any big attacks, and landing some big moves of his own. Mistico got a very good near fall from a Springboard DDT, jumping and rebounding off the middle rope before driving Sydal into the canvas. As Sydal began to get back into the match a bit more. Mistico still showed off his incredible speed to quickly pin Sydal to the mat for a fair few more near-falls, before the match evened right out and the fans were again treated to a few minutes of pulsating back and forth action. Mistico hit a top-rope leg-drop with plenty of air-time for a huge near-fall, and Sydal thought he had the match won with the 'Uranage', but Mistico somehow kicked out at two. The pair continued at lightning speed, before Mistico hit a Tornado DDT from the turnbuckle for a two count. He picked Sydal up, and whipped him into the corner, but Sydal reversed, sending Mistico flying toward the turnbuckle. Mistico somehow countered that, showing fantastic agility to leap right onto the top-rope in a great looking piece of skill. Mistico quickly turned round, but Sydal showed just how quick he can be, leaping up to grab Mistico and hitting the 'Belly to Belly Moonsault' for a great win! Sydal sees off one of the top international Lightweights in a fantastic first-round match. Great action with everything at breakneck speeds! Sydal advances with a HUGE win!

8) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' RODERICK STRONG to retain (24:16) in the match of the night. Fantastic match, a genuine Match of the Year candidate. Strong started well, lighting the chest of Shelley up with some really hard chops. When he had the chance to get back into the match, Shelley kept going for the knee's of Strong like he did in their previous match last year, but Strong had this tactic scouted and always had a counter for Shelley's offence. This continued for a fair while, frustrating Shelley. Strong continued to be the aggressor, and Shelley had to re-think his game-plan as Strong obviously had his plan A well scouted. Shelley got whatever offence in he could, until he had his chance to get into the match. Strong thought he had worn Shelley down enough, and went for his 'Half Nelson Back-breaker', but in one smooth motion Shelley landed behind Strong and executed a swinging neck-breaker! Shelley took a moment to get his breath, then picked Strong up and did another neck-breaker, and now Shelley was in the match! He continued to work over the neck for a while, using various locks and holds, as well as driving the neck of Strong into the back of his knee like a back-breaker, as well as other moves to wear down the body part. The middle portion of the match was this, Shelley working over the neck with Strong having some unsuccessful comebacks, before the last four plus minutes turned into an exciting back and forth contest as both men got near falls and came close to winning. Strong ducked a clothesline, and hit his flurry of back-breakers much to the delight of the crowd, but Shelley somehow had enough left to kick out. Strong also scored with the 'Yakuza Kick', but this time the Champion was too close to the ropes. Strong avoided the 'Shellshock', as well as an attempt at the 'Border City Stretch', before both traded roll-ups for near falls as both men came closer and closer to winning. The crowd were on their feet at the near victories of both, before Shelley grounded Strong, and again went for the 'Border City Stretch'. He couldn't quite get it locked in, as Strong squirmed to avoid the hold, but Shelley used Strong's movements against him. As Strong tried rolling onto his right-hand side to avoid the move, Shelley rolled Strong right over, and trapped his shoulders to the mat! Shelley rolled some of his weight onto the shoulder, so they ended up almost in a Cradle position! Strong tried to get his shoulders up, but the speed the move coupled with the weight Shelley had pressing down meant he couldn't escape before the three! Shelley wins with a great piece of wrestling! He only just had Strong though, as as soon as the bell rang, both men were back up. Strong couldn't believe that Shelley barely, just got him there! Shelley rolls out of the ring, and celebrates, as a frustrated Strong looks on, Shelley just gets it, and many can't believe how close it was in the end. Very, very good wrestling.

--- A little video package airs on the home release, going through the key events of the Haas/Homicide feud. It was by no means definitive, and lacked a large amount of production values, but did a good enough job of showing fans the key events of the feud.

9) Cage Match

CHARLIE HAAS def. 'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE (25:37) in a good main event. Not the best wrestling contest between the pair, but the match and gimmick were worked well, and the contest was enjoyable. Homicide tried to escape plenty of times in the first few minutes, diving toward the door at every opportunity, and when Haas whipped him into the ropes, he leapt up and began scaling the cage, almost making the top before Haas dragged him down. Homicide then used basic cheap tactics, like an eye-rake, to keep Haas at bay long enough to escape, and at one point was walking through the door before Haas was able to stop him at the last second. Eventually, Haas took control of the match and unleashed months of anger and frustration on Homicide, pounding away, and hitting a fair few high impact moves that could have won him the match, were it not for Haas wanting to beat on Homicide more. He further punished Homicide by throwing him into the steel cage, cutting him open, and then raking his face across the cage. Haas finally made an attempt to escape around the thirteen minute mark by climbing over the top, but a weak Homicide was able to loosen his footing, causing Haas to fall and crotch himself on the top rope! Homicide then used a rush of adrenaline to give Haas a top-rope Ace Crusher! The crowd popped loudly for this, but Homicide was unable to try and win the match after the beating a frustrated Haas had given him. This did however mark the period of the match that Homicide dominated, wearing Haas down, and busting him open on the unforgiving steel. The crowd tried to get behind Haas, but Homicide cut down any comebacks, and again came very close to escaping the cage, only for Haas to make very late saves to save the match. Finally, Haas fought back and the match went into its final few minutes. The last few minutes were crazy as both men tried to win the match. Haas hit his bridging German Suplex, but Homicide somehow found the strength and energy to kick out! Haas tried for the 'Haas of Pain', but Homicide was able to roll through the hold for a close two count. Homicide himself hit a Lariat, but Haas somehow got a shoulder up during the back and forth action. Homicide also attempted a 'Cop Killah', but Haas was able to find a counter. The end came with Homicide hitting a second Lariat, and climbing up the Cage to try and escape. He had just about made it to the top before Haas even showed any signs of life, and everyone had thought Homicide had won the feud. With Homicide crawling over the top, Haas slowly pulled himself up the ropes and managed to grab a leg of Homicide as 'The Notorious 187' was just about to go right over the top of the cage. Homicide tried kicking Haas off and succeeded as Haas fell back to the mat, but Homicide unbalanced himself, and fell, crotching himself on the top rope! Homicide screamed in pain as Haas lay down on the mat. Homicide eventually recovered enough to climb on the top rope and was about to begin his ascent again, when Haas found the last bit of energy he had to get to his feet, and leap up to the top rope behind Homicide. Haas got 'Cide in a waist-lock and it dawned on the crowd what Haas was thinking of doing. It dawned on Homicide too who was shouting 'Oh shit no!” and was all wide-eyed as Haas jumped backwards, taking Homicide crashing down with a HUGE Top-Rope German Suplex! The crowd erupted in cheers and chants and Haas pretty much crawled onto Homicide to count the fall, 1-2-3! Charlie Haas picks up the win and wins this HUGE feud! The crowd cheer loudly and the applause is almost defending as neither man moves. Finally, Charlie Haas slowly gets to his feet, and looking exhausted slowly raises his hands in celebration. Haas is overcome with the emotion of winning this long, long war with Homicide, and finally ending his loosing streak in the process! The crowd begin a 'Charlie Haas' chant as an exhausted Haas sinks to his knees, but with a smile on his face. Homicide is rolled out of the ring, just about come too, and the show ends with Haas on his knees in the middle of the ring, filled with emotion as the crowd clap and chant his name.

- End Show -

Quick Results:

1)Matt Sydal and Delirious def. The Havana Pitbulls (13:54) ***3/4

2)Jay Lethal def. KUDO (11:13) ***1/4

3)Delirious def. Brandon Thomaselli (10:04) ***1/4

4)Jerry Lynn def. 'The Generic Luchadore' El Generico (13:53) ***1/2

5)Ricky Reyes def. Sedrick Strong (13:26) ***1/4

6)Hallowicked def. Spud (12:39) **3/4

7)Matt Sydal def. Mistico (15:16) ***3/4

8)Alex Shelley def. Roderick Strong (24:16) ****1/4

9)Cage Match: Charlie Haas def. Homicide (25:37) ***1/4

Thoughts: A very good show overall. Shelley/Strong is an excellent match and an outside MOTY candidate for starters. Add a very good tag team match, the fantastic match-up between Matt Sydal and Mistico and the emotional end to one of APW's biggest ever feuds in the Cage match and you already have a must see show. Add good matches invoving Delirious, Brandon Thomaselli, Jerry Lynn, El Generico, Ricky Reyes and Sedrick Strong, and the overall quality of the card is excellent. Lethal/KUDO is perfectly good also. The only 'weak' match is Hallowicked vs. Spud, and even that is probably marginally better than any other lower-card match on any other indy show, so this show is a must-see and a great set-up for night two!

King of the Lightweights 2007, Night Two

April 21st 2007

Edison, New Jersey

--- A Charlie Haas interview kicks off the home release of night two. Haas mainly talked out finally winning the long war with Homicide last night, and how he hoped that now his losing streak was over, he could build a winning streak, continuing tonight against Rocky Romero.

1) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Semi-Final

JAY LETHAL def. DELIRIOUS (14:02) to advance to the final! Very good opener that sees Jay Lethal extend his impressive record over Delirious, having now won the pairs last three encounters. The first half of the match was a slower, more technically based match as they jockeyed for position in moves like wrist-locks, arm-bars and generally slowly got more and more into the match, maybe both not wanting to over-commit to something that could see them eliminated at this stage of the tournament, and not wanting to exert too much energy with the prospect of a second match later. The match soon heated up though as the match was built well with bigger and bigger moves and faster exchanges. Delirious was the first to go for broke, as he went for the 'Shadows over Hell' around eight minutes in, but Lethal side-stepped the splash, and Delirious crashed into the canvas! Lethal quickly rolled Delirious up, and many thought that was it, 1-2-No! Delirious just rolled his shoulders off the mat at the last second. This mistake gave the advantage to Lethal, who dominated the match for a period, but Delirious was always able to counter any big moves that may have ended the match. The last couple of minutes were back and forth with plenty of near-falls and quick roll-ups and attempts at signature moves, before the actual finish arrived. Delirious, believing to have Lethal sufficiently worn down, went for the 'Chemical Imbalance', but as he lifted Lethal, Lethal was able to shift weight and counter, quickly landing behind Delirious, and even more quickly hitting the 'Dragon Suplex'! The crowd popped for the move, and counted to the fall, 1-2-NO! Delirious just manages to kick out! Lethal was shocked, as were many in the crowd that Delirious survived Jay's signature move, and for a few seconds, Lethal seemed at a loss as to what had happened. He was able to regain composure though, as as a nearly out of it Delirious staggered to his feet, Lethal clotheslined him back down, before going up top and hitting his 'Diving Head-butt' for the win. Lethal wins a very good match, and the previous King of the Lightweights advances to the final with a big win here!

2) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Semi-Final

JERRY LYNN def. RICKY REYES to make the final (12:34) in another very good match. Match was mostly even through-out, and the most 'technical' of the three semi-finals with a lot of mat work and holds and reversals. When the match wasn't like this, Reyes landed some stiff strikes and chops, whilst Lynn was quick with more traditional cruiserweight moves, like hurricarana's, quick drop-kicks and some top-rope moves. Reyes almost won a few times, the most notable time being when he had the 'Dragon Sleeper' locked in in the middle of the ring, but Lynn refused to tap, holding and slowly finding a way out of the hold. The match went on fairly evenly, until the pair began an exchange of strikes. During the exchange, Reyes went for one of his stiff kicks to the head, but he swung wildly, allowing Lynn to duck the kick before picking Reyes up and hitting a 'TKO' for the 1-2-3! The former APW Champion makes the final! Good match, and for the most part something different to the mostly quicker opener.

3) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Semi-Final

MATT SYDAL def. HALLOWICKED with a standing Shooting Star Press (13:27). An OK match, but a bit of a let-down considering the potential. Hallowicked can be inconsistent and wasn't 'on' here, and Sydal didn't seem to be at his normally high level. The result was it wasn't quite as smooth as it might have been, and the match was a bit awkward, just ticking along until the end. Luckily, even on an off day, with these two the match was still far from bad. Sydal gained the early momentum with a corkscrew plancha to the outside, and spent a while working over Hallowicked, but found a competitor with such a good win/loss record hard to put down. Hallowicked came close to hitting a match-winning move on a couple of occasions, and in the latter minutes gained several near-falls with roll-ups. In the dying minutes, he managed to hit his 'Step-up Frankensteiner', but Sydal showed great fight to kick-out! With a talent like Sydal and a competitor with a record like Hallowicked, it was always going to take something big to get a win, and eventually Sydal hit that big move – the standing Shooting Star following a tornado DDT – to pick up the three-count. Sydal gets a big win over one of the biggest stars of the APW Lightweight division, earning an important victory as he heads to the final!

4) THE IRON SAINTS def. THE RING CREW EXPRESS (11:45) in a decent little match. Nothing really spectacular here, but a very solid tag match with some good moments. Just a solid mid-card tag team effort. Dunn and Marcos had beaten the Iron Saints several time before, and so their confidence was high early on as they hit some speedy double team moves and did so well as to force the Saints to walk up the entrance way to re-group early on. When they did get back to the ring and into the match, they were able to isolate Marcos for a while, working over his back and knee and showing their good technical skill along the way. Marcos eventually made the hot tag to Dunn, and the match went into its finish, which saw Dunn and Sal Thomaselli fighting on the outside. In the ring, Marcos went for a couple of quick roll-ups that both scored two counts. He continued with the quick pinning combinations by going for a back-slide, but Vito countered into one of his own, 1-2-Viot puts his feet on the ropes-3! Vito steals the win with his feet on the ropes! He dives out of the ring, and he and Sal re-unite at the bottom of the entrance way and head to the back, arms raised. Marcos protests in the ring, but to no avail, and he and Dunn stand shocked. The Iron Saints cheat to earn an important win over The Ring Crew Express!

5) CHARLIE HAAS def. ROCKY ROMERO w/Samoa Joe (15:55). Good wrestling match, although nothing really spectacular happened to note here, it was just good wrestling. Haas had about 60/40 control of the match, barring a five minute or so period where Romero really dominated him, almost getting the win with a Brainbuster about ten minutes in. The match could have gone either way at times towards the end, but eventually it was Charlie Haas who came out on top, winning after hitting several quick moves to build some real momentum, before hitting his bridging German Suplex to pick up the three count. Charlie Haas caps off an impressive weekend, after beating Homicide in the cage last night! After the match, Haas celebrated in the ring, whilst Samoa Joe dragged Romero out of the ring, but kept his eyes on Haas. A very pissed off looking Joe shook his head, and he and Haas had prolonged eye contact as Joe and Romero backed off up the entrance way, Haas seemed to he nodding confidently, almost in a 'if you think you can do better......' way, but nothing else happens. Good match.

6) JIMMY RAVE and 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI def. THE STRONG BROTHERS (18:21) in a good tag team match. Mostly just solid work with a better last five minutes as both sides scored some near-falls. The match had a basic tag formula, as after an even opening, the brothers had the advantage for a short while, before the 'Cutting Edge' duo of Rave and Castagnoli isolated Sedrick and spent the middle part of the match working him over. Cutting Edge came close to winning a few times here in a few flurry's of action as Rave hit a running knee on Sedrick, but Roderick was on hand to make the save. A short while later, Claudio hit a series of hard European uppercuts on Sedrick, but the former APW Tag Team Champion showed resiliency to kick out. Eventually Sedrick made the tag and the brothers controlled the match for a short while, Roderick hitting Claudio with the 'CXO3' at one point before Rave made the save. The last few minutes were the typical back and forth affair with all four men going in and out of the ring, hitting big moves. The finish saw Sedrick clothesline Claudio to the floor, then go outside to fight Castagnoli on the floor, leaving Rave and Roderick in the ring. Strong seemed to be in control, and was building some good momentum, and ran off the ropes looking for a huge clothesline, but Rave ducked, and kicked Roderick in the gut. Rave went behind Roderick and hit a belly-to-back suplex. Rave then went off the ropes, timing his run to match when Strong was getting back up to knee height – Rave is going for another running knee! Strong though countered greatly, grabbing Rave's knee right before impact and smoothly going right into the 'Stronghold'! The crowd pop both for a great counter executed very smoothly and for the Strong's being about to win the match! Rave yelled in pain, but was getting close to the ropes – before Strong pulled him back into the middle of the ring! The crowd cheered more, begging for Rave to tap as Rave screamed more and more. On the outside, Claudio whipped Sedrick hard into the crowd barrier, then dumped him over the barrier into the crowd. Seeing his partner in great trouble, Claudio slid into the ring right as Rave was about to submit, making the save! Claudio followed up by clubbing the back of Roderick, then went for a waist-lock, but Strong went behind and hit Claudio with a textbook 'Half-Nelson back-breaker'! Rave was staggering up, and Roderick, all fired up went over to Rave and hit him with a 'Half-Nelson Back-breaker'! The crowd was on-fire for the trademark moves of Strong, as he picked Rave up ready for more back-breakers, but a groggy Rave escaped more punishment the quickest way he could think of – with a low-blow! The referee didn't see it, as he was getting Castagnoli out of the ring! The crowd boo loudly as Roderick sinks to his knees. Rave shrugs off the punishment he has taken long enough to hit the 'Greetings from Ghana' and pick up the three count! The crowd boo as Rave gets his hand raised and taunts the crowd, before being joined by Claudio. They raises their hands and celebrate the win before heading to the back as the brothers re-group. Cutting Edge score a huge victory over the former tag team champions!

7) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. 'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE (23:30) in a match notable for the fact that barring a couple of punches and the small package that brought him victory, Alex Shelley got literally NO offence in AT ALL. It was literally almost twenty-five minutes of Homicide beating the absolute hell out of Shelley with no response. Homicide was just unable to hit the big move to win him the championship for the most part, as Shelley always found a way to counter the 'Cop Killah' on several occasions, and any other combinations of moves Homicide put together, Shelley was always able to kick out. At one point, Homicide hit an 'Ace Crusher', and feeling victory was close, began to slowly pull his elbow pad down, and swung his arms, signalling for a Lariat! He came off the ropes and met the rising Shelley with one hell of a stiff Lariat, and everyone thought Homicide had the title won! Homicide went into a cover and was just waiting to be awarded the Championship belt, as the crowd – usually very ant-Homicide cheered for the title switch – 1-2-NO! Shelley just gets hit foot on the bottom rope! The crowd groaned, and Homicide banged the mat in frustration, before looking angrily at the referee. He then dragged Shelley into the middle of the ring and made another cover, but Shelley now had had plenty of time to recover, and was able to kick out at two. Homicide still dominated the match, with almost no answer from Shelley, who took a real ass-kicking before Homicide began to get more and more frustrated at not being able to put Shelley away despite his dominance. He began to unleash a series of hard, but erratic strikes and slaps at Shelley, landing several hard blows to the face, and he appeared to have Shelley out cold standing. His flurry of blows got harder and faster, as he really unloaded on the APW Champion, eventually wearing himself out. He took a second to get the energy back for some stronger shots, then unloaded on Shelley with a huge haymaker – but Shelley put an arm out to block the shot, then rolled Homicide into a small package, 1-2-3! Alex Shelley pulls a win out of the bag! How the HELL did Shelley manage that? The crowd boo as Shelley rolls to the floor, shocked himself and still in a world of pain after the beating he took. He is awarded the title, and dares to raise his arm in victory, as Homicide sits in the middle of the ring in total shock. Shelley is about disappeared into the back, when Homicide flips in the ring, at first banging the mat in frustration, then going to the floor. Here, Homicide throws chairs around, shoves the timekeeper off his chair and throws that chair around, kicks crowd barriers out of place and shouts at fans. Several referees and other officials come to try and calm him down, but he shoves them too, before he takes to ripping part of the ring canvas cover, then throws yet more chair around, all the while banging his fists around and swearing loudly. Eventually, he tires himself out more than calms himself down, and allows himself to be lead away by the re-grouped officials, but he still looks incredibly pissed off. This really hasn't been Homicide's weekend. Shelley wins a good match, if you can call a one-way ass-kicking until the finish a match.

--- Once Homicide has been lead away, Shelley comes back out to boos, and says another night, and another successful title defence. He says he can almost get bored at times, winning so easily and by being “by far the most dominant singles wrestler on the roster”. Shelley suggests he might want to branch out and try and win even more gold. He hints at going for the APW Tag Team Championships, when he is cut off by some familair music - its JOE! Samoe Joe comes down to meet Shelley in the ring!

Joe gets a mic and says the last time he spoke to Alex Shelley in an APW ring, he said as soon as the feud with Colt Cabana was over, he was coming for the gold, and last time he checked, the issue between him and Colt Cabana was DONE! Joe says incase Homicide has beaten Shelley so senseless he doesn't understand, SAMOA JOE IS COMING FOR THE APW CHAMPIONSHIP! Shelley tries to respond, but Joe cuts him off. Joe says he knows Shelley will try something to get out of it, but Joe has already spoken to APW officials, who agree that Joe is worthy of an APW Championship match - and that match will happen NEXT month! That match will happen on the very next show! The crowd pop loudly, and a small section start a "Joes gonna Killa you" chant. Joe says Shelley's reign as Champion is coming to an end, and that Shelley should start preparing now, cos "Joe's gonna get ya!" The crowd pop as Joe drops the mic and walks off to the back, leaving Shelley with an 'OH SHIT' expression on his face. Finally, he dejectedly walks to the back, with the knowledge that he has to face Joe next month!

8) King of the Lightweights Tournament

Final

Three-Way Elimination Match

MATT SYDAL def. JAY LETHAL and JERRY LYNN to win the 2007 King of the Lightweights Tournament (20:43)! Good final, but not quite the excellent match it could have been as all three showed some signs of fatigue at times in the match after having between three and four times in two nights. Match started slow, with all three a little wary, slowly working each other over, and trying to leave it one-on-one in the ring in the hopes of getting an early elimination, but by the seven or eight minute mark, all three were in the ring and really going for it. The match just got better and better as it went along, with only slight bits where the quality dropped, probably due to the fatigue. Once the match got really going, the three did a lot of sequences of action together, rather than having one man on the floor whilst the others fight, and after a good two or three minutes of all three going for it in the ring together, Jay Lethal was the first to be eliminated, around thirteen minutes in. Sydal was down after taking a TKO from Lynn, but had survived by having his feet on the ropes. Lethal hit Lynn with a German Suplex, and went into a cover, but Lynn kicked out. Lethal went to follow up again by picking Lynn up and hitting a snap-suplex into a cover, but again Lynn was able to kick out. Lethal looked to finish Lynn off once and for all, and began to climb the turnbuckle, probably looking for a 'Diving Head-Butt', as Sydal slowly began to stur on the mat. Lethal adjusted his feet to get himself ready, and was just about to launch, when all of a sudden Sydal jumped up and leapt to the top-rope in a 'Kurt Angle' style moment, and grabbing Lethal, jumped off with the 'Belly-to-Belly Moonsault'! The crowd popped for the suddenness of the move, and for a perfectly executed spot as the referee made the count, 1-2-3! Sydal eliminates the previous tournament winner and the former APW Lightweight Champion! The continue to cheer, and encourage the two remaining competitors on as Lynn and Sydal both are laid out on the mat, getting a moments rest. Lethal is rolled out of the ring and gets a positive response from the crowd as Lynn and Sydal get to their feet and look each other down.

The last seven or so minutes contained some great action. At first, it wasn't great as Sydal and Lynn just traded punches and chops and low-level moves, but the last five minutes were off the chart as they both went for it, and delivered a great finale with plenty of signature moves, counters and near-falls. Sydal countered a TKO, and kicked out of a 'Tornado DDT' from the corner that has been a signature move of Lynn's for some years. Sydal gained the majority of the near-falls with quick roll-ups, but did gain a near-fall with a 'Uranage'. After a great few minutes of wrestling that had everyone on the edge of their seat, Sydal earned the win and the tournament when Lynn rolled Sydal up in a school-boy, 1-2-Sydal kicks out. Both men jump back to their feet, and Sydal reacts quickest, kneeing Lynn in the gut. Sydal goes for the 'Here it is' Driver, but Lynn counters, and scoops Sydal up looking for the 'Cradle Piledriver'. He is turning Sydal upside down, when Sydal acrobatically counters with a head-scissors, sending Lynn flying across to the mat. When they get up again, Sydal manages to hit the 'Here it is' Driver, and makes the cover, 1-2-NO! Lynn kicks out when everyone thought Sydal had the match won. The crowd gasp at another climatic false finish, but Sydal doesn't allow himself to get distracted or shocked, and before Lynn can react, Sydal leaps up and twists in the air, coming down on-top of Lynn with a 'Standing Shooting Star Press'! The referee counts the fall, and it seems every single member of the audience counts along, 1-2-3! Sydal pins the former APW Champion! Matt Sydal wins the 2007 King of the Lightweights Tournament! Sydal looks shocked as the crowd cheer a great match, and cheer for Sydal who pinned two former champions in the final. Sydal climbs up the nearest turnbuckle to celebrate, and when he gets back down, Lynn is staggering back to his feet. They look at each other for a second, before Lynn offers a hand, which Sydal accepts. They shake hands before Lynn gives Sydal a 'pat on the back'. Lynn raises the arm of Sydal, then leaves to applause so Sydal can celebrate. Matt Sydal has his hand raised by the referee, and continues to walk around the ring, arms raised with a huge grin on his face. Delirious makes his way to ringside, and the APW Tag Team Champions hug briefly, before Delirious raises Sydal's arm and shouts something in gibberish. Delirious fetches Sydals APW Tag Team Championship belt, and puts it on Sydal's waist, before Delirious leaves the ring, and stands at the bottom of the entrance way, as Sydal is presented with a small trophy to say he is the 2007 King of the Lightweights! The live show ends with Delirious clapping on from ringside, as Sydal stands in the ring, both arms raised holding the King of the Lightweights trophy with the Tag Team Championship belt around his waist and with a huge triumphant grin on his face. The crowd cheer a great tournament and a great victory.

--- The home release ends with an on-screen series of graphics, firstly saying several APW superstars return next show, like 'Classic' Colt Cabana, APW Lightweight Champion 'Sterling' James Keenan and Cutting Edge leader Danny Daniels, as well as hyping up the big match next month, and promising that another long-standing rivalry will be settled next show. It says to check out apwwrestling.com for more details as and when they are released.

- End Show -

Quick Results:

1)Jay Lethal def. Delirious (14:02) ***3/4

2)Jerry Lynn def. Ricky Reyes (12:34) ***3/4

3)Matt Sydal def. Hallowicked (13:27) **3/4

4)The Iron Saints def. The Ring Crew Express (11:45) ***

5)Charlie Haas def. Rocky Romero (15:55) ****1/4

6)Jimmy Rave and 'Double C' Claudio Castagnoli def. The Strong Brothers (18:21) ***1/2

7)Alex Shelley def. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide (23:30) ****1/4

8)Matt Sydal def. Jay Lethal and Jerry Lynn (20:43) ***3/4

Thoughts: Great night of action, including a hot crowd and a great, climatic atmosphere in the final. Lethal/Delirious, Lynn/Reyes and the final are all great tournament matches with a really important ending, and the shows does put Sydal over a lot. Shelley/Homicide a very enjoyable 'fight' if you can look past the finish, and Haas and Romero enjoy a good match in the mid-card, that also features a big win for Cutting Edge over The Strong Brothers. Sydal/Hallowicked and The Iron Saints vs. The Ring Crew Express are decent matches that add to what is a must-see show.

Two updates in two days! What the hell's going on!?

--- After the HUGE success that was King of the Lightweights 2007, APW return top action in Buffalo, New York on May 18th 2007. At the end of the King of the Lightweights home release, we promises that a long running feud would end, and it will! The 2007 King of the Lightweights, MATT SYDAL will face DANNY DANIELS in their FINAL match! Sydal and Daniels have feuded for nine months now in APW, and their rivalry has included some truly brutal moments such as Sydal being whipped by the dog collar back in February, which lead to a Dog-Collar match and what can only be described as mugging when Cutting Edge interfered and beat the living hell out of Sydal to allow Daniels to win in April. This feud comes to an end on May 18th in a No DQ, Anything Goes match-up! As further insurance that this match will settle the score, ALL third parties have been barred from ringside. That means NO Jimmy Rave, NO Claudio Castagnoli, NO Delirious, NO-one bar Sydal, Daniels, a referee and timekeeper. Anyone who interferes will never be booked again in APW. This huge rivalry comes to an end MAY 15TH! Will the momentum gained from King of the Lightweights help Matt Sydal finally get his revenge on Daniels, or will Danny Daniels again find a way to beat Sydal?

--- That won't even be the biggest match on May 18th! That honour has to go to the HUGE APW Championship match as ALEX SHELLEY defends against SAMOA JOE! The meeting of two of APW's biggest stars and most talented wrestlers makes this a huge match, never mind because the title is on the line! Back in January, Joe promised to come for the belt, and at King of the Lightweights, he again confronted Shelley and announced this monumental match! Shelley barely survived Homicide last time out, how the hell can he survive Joe!? Maybe the biggest match in APW goes down May 18th, and APW officials have taken the step of naming the event after the match! So, on May 18th, it will be Shelley vs. Joe, at Shelley vs. Joe!

--- As for HOMICIDE, he snapped after Shelley rolled him up to retain the APW Championship last time out, and began to trash the set. APW officials were unhappy with Homicide about the trashing of the set, causing damage, and the way in which he manhandled several referees. APW officials were wanting to punish Homicide for these actions. Homicide seemed to want time to take stock and let his frustrations cool at losing a match he should have won as well as wanting time to decide how to act next. Thus it has been decided that Homicide will not be booked for the Shelley vs. Joe event. This means Homicide gets his time, yet is punished as he misses a payday. Homicide will return on the next APW event on June 22nd in Chicago.

--- There have been new matches signed for Shelley vs. Joe that implicate the APW Tag Team Division. With MATT SYDAL in action their will be no title defence, but that doesn't stop some of the issues heating up. The other half of the APW Tag Team Champions, DELIRIOUS will face 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI! This is down to the issue between the Tag Champs and Cutting Edge. Also, back in February, Cutting Edge stole a victory in a six-man tag match when Jimmy Rave pinned Delirious and Delirious wants a win over the group back, whilst Claudio can become the second member of Cutting Edge to pin Delirious! Delirious actually requested a match with Rave, but JIMMY RAVE has already been booked in a match, as he will face 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' RODERICK STRONG! Last show, Rave pinned Strong in a tag team match by cheating, and Strong is pissed off and wants revenge! The outcomes of these two big matches could have great bearings on the division and should be great wrestling contests to boot! Find out what will happen in these huge matches filled with bad feelings at Shelley vs. Joe!

--- The usual APW roster will return to normal now after the King of the Lightweights Tournament. One of those competitors returning is the APW Lightweight Champion, 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN, who returns from injury. Keenan will defend the APW Lightweight Championship at the show, against HALLOWICKED! Hallowicked is one of the top stars in the Lightweight division. The rivalry between the two dates back to January and the First Anniversary Show, where Keenan cost Hallowicked a shot at the APW Lightweight Championship against then Champion Jay Lethal. Hallowicked has since to receive a fair shot at the championship that Keenan would eventually win off Lethal, but he WILL get that fair shot on the 18th of May! Will the always impressive Hallowicked take the gold, or will champ Keenan hold on to it longer?

--- Speaking of JAY LETHAL, he is also yet to receive a re-match for the APW Lightweight Championship. Lethal was ultra-impressive at King of the Lightweights, reaching the final, but with Hallowicked getting the next title match, he seemed to be out of a match for Shelley vs. Joe. Instead, APW officials have booked him in a match with the returning 'Classic' COLT CABANA! Cabana returns for the first time since he vanquished his biggest rival Samoa Joe back at The Final Battle. Cabana was promised an APW Championship match after that, but Cabana wanted to build toward the title match to show he had REALLY earned it, and to build momentum. This interesting match will either be the start of that build for Cabana, or a real chance for Lethal to show he can hang with one of the best in the business and really show he can be a major force in APW.

--- CHARLIE HAAS vs. RICKY REYES has been signed for Shelley vs. Joe. Haas beat Reyes fellow 'Pack' member Rocky Romero on the last show, much to the chagrin of Pack leader SAMOA JOE. Joe has basically sent Reyes 'into bat' against Haas to hopefully do a better job. Haas went 2-0 over King of the Lightweights weekend after a bad losing streak. Will Haas continue his good recent form, or will Ricky Reyes fare better for 'The Pack' then Romero?

--- A special four corner match has been added to the card for the Shelley vs. Joe event. It features four men that have appeared in APW before, but never as regulars. These four men are all great young athletes who want to feature regularly on APW shows and who want a regular slot. As such, the winner of this special challenge match earns a full-time contract with APW, and will be booked on shows starting with the very next one. For the three losers, its back to occasional appearances as they try and earn full-time slots. The four men signed for this huge match are 'Cool SETH DELAY, GRIM REEFER, JIGSAW and TRIK DAVIS, who is perhaps the most familiar of the four to APW crowds.

--- This is part of a roster shake-up. A lot of top-line indy talent have been signed to exclusive deals by several companies in recent months, meaning a lot of fan favourites won't be in an APW ring for the foreseeable future. This however, isn't to say that there still aren't some great wrestlers out there that would love to perform in front of you fans. Expect some new faces to show-up in the very near future, as early as the June 22nd return to Chicago. The four corner match at Shelley vs. Joe is just the first step!

--- A tag team match has been added to the May 18th Shelley vs. Joe card. On night two of King of the Lightweights, THE IRON SAINTS finally earned a win over THE RING CREW EXPRESS, but had to resort to under-hand tactics to earn it. Dunn and Marcos wanted another match to avenge the loss. What will happen in yet another clash between the two teams?

--- Mistico impressed a lot, even in defeat to Matt Sydal at King of the Lightweights. Mistico, one of the top stars in Mexico may well appear in an APW ring again, as APW officials are looking into bringing Mistico in, possibly in some sort of special attraction match.

--- After several months of running two shows and double-shots, the APW calendar calms down for a while now, as we go back to running a show a month for the next few months. Single shows on May 18th in Buffalo, NY, June 22nd in Chicago, IL and July 20th in Philadelphia, PA all run-up to one of our biggest shows in our calendar year and one of the biggest shows anywhere in the Summer as on August 17th we return to Edison, NJ with Summer Showdown 2007! September sees the return of multiple shows a month.

Shelley vs. Joe!

May 18th 2007

Buffalo, New York

---Three Interviews start the home release. Firstly, we are with the APW Tag Team Champions, Matt Sydal and Delirious. Sydal talks about tonight, and finally ending his war with Danny Daniels. After all Daniels has put him through, he is looking forward to getting his revenge later. Sydal goes off to warm up. Delirious is asked by the unseen camera man about Alex Shelley's hints about coming for the Tag Team Championships. Delirious just shouts incoherently for a while, and walks off.

We see the Cutting Edge trio of Danny Daniels, Jimmy Rave and Claudio Castagnoli. Daniels says tonight is an important night, because Claudio has a chance to again earn Cutting Edge a victory over one of the tag team champions, and Jimmy Rave has a big match with Roderick Strong later, but mostly tonight is important because its the night he FINALLY puts Matt Sydal down for good. Daniels says he's beaten him many times before, and beaten the life out of him even more times than that, and still Sydal keeps coming back. He says if it wasn't so stupid, he'd almost admire his bravery, but it's all in vain, because after tonight, Sydal won't be making anymore comebacks.

Finally, Colt Cabana gives a little interview, explaining his wish to build up some wins before he challenges for the APW Championship. He says it starts tonight by beating Jay Lethal.

1) DELIRIOUS def. 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (13:49) in a good match. The first half of the match was very slow, with plenty of basic locks and holds on the ground, and a fair bit of tomfoolery from Delirious, who spent a good while screaming at Claudio's hand for no reason whatsoever. Delirious also spent time in the crowd, patting a crowd members bald head at the same time as rubbing his own stomach. The actual wrestling picked up in the second half of the match though, and was kept an even affair to show either man could have picked up the win. Claudio almost won at the eleven minute mark with a very hard European Uppercut, but it was Delirious who eventually won this good opener. Claudio whipped Delirious into a corner, and charged, but Delirious got a boot up. Claudio staggered into the middle of the ring, and Delirious sent Claudio into the far corner, before following up with a running clothesline. Claudio sank to the floor, now in a seated position against the turnbuckle! Delirious followed up with the 'Panic Attack' running knee before leaping onto the top rope! The crowd cheered on as they knew what was coming next! Claudio began crawling to his feet, towards the middle of the ring, but Delirious came off the top rope with the 'Shadows Over Hell' back-splash to pick up the win! Delirious celebrates with the crowd after the match, shouting loudly in gibberish. Good opening match.

2) Four Corner Match

Winner earns full-time APW contract

'Cool' SETH DELAY def. TRIK DAVIS, GRIM REEFER and JIGSAW by pinning Davis (8:52). Delay earned the win when Claudio Castagnoli and Jimmy Rave interfered! The referee had accidently been taken out when he got sandwiched between the turnbuckle and Trik Davis. Delay was in front of the referee, when Davis ran at him, and Delay moved, causing Davis to squash the ref against the turnbuckle. Not that long after, Davis had the advantage in the match as Jigsaw and Reefer were down on the outside, and Davis had the momentum over Delay. He was looking for that one big move to win the match, when Rave and Double C appeared at ringside, distracting Davis long enough for Delay to regain his composure, spin Davis round and hit the 'Kool Krusher' as the referee was coming round. Out of sight, Rave and Claudio held Jigsaw and Reefer down on the outside so they couldn't make the save and Delay picks up the win! The match itself was actually quite pleasing, it was solid, with some good sequences and worth the watch. After the match, Delay celebrated with Rave and Castagnoli! It looks like Cutting Edge have a new member!

3) THE IRON SAINTS def. THE RING CREW EXPRESS (11:25) in a very good effort. These two teams have worked against each other a lot now, and as a result seem really comfortable together and click well. Their matches have been getting better, and this was maybe the best yet. Unlike their other matches where one of the Express has been isolated for a while, before the hot tag and finish, this match didn't really follow a formula at all as it was an all even match with frequent tags from both teams. Neither side held the advantage for any length of time at all and the match was a very quick, back-and-forth affair. This was to show how familiar all four have become with each other. Plenty of near-falls, and towards the end, The Ring Crew Express got all their signature double-team moves in like the 'Assisted Senton', and the 'Assisted Sliced bread #2', but it was The Iron Saints who actually won cleanly. Marcos got tossed out to the floor by Sal Thomaselli, giving the Saints long enough to gain the advantage over Dunn before hitting their double-team finisher, the 'Drive-By' for the win. A simple, but effective end to a fun match that sees The Iron Saints earn a clean win over the Ring Crew Express!

4)' Classic' COLT CABANA def. JAY LETHAL (13:21) in a very good wrestling match. Nothing much in the way of memorable spots or great exchanges, the whole match was just a solid wrestling match with lots of hold-for-hold action, that built into a better finish. Lethal got his fair share of offence in, including almost beating Cabana with the 'Diving Head-Butt', but Cabana was able to kick-out at two. Colt was also able to avoid the 'Dragon Suplex', the other major devastating move in Lethal's arsenal. Whilst Lethal got a substantial amount of offence in and was made to look like a very credible opponent for Cabana, Colt did have the slight majority of offence, and after a couple of minutes of action at the end of the match that saw both men come close to getting the win, Cabana scored the 1-2-3 with one of his bizarre pinning combinations to put away Lethal. Good, competitive match, that made Lethal look good and started Cabana's desire for a 'win streak' to build to his title challenge.

5) APW Lightweight Championship

'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN def. HALLOWICKED to retain (13:37). In a fairly decent match. Nothing spectacular, just solid action. Match was slow, but built up to a quicker pace by the end. Keenan did a lot of typical heel stuff early on, like bailing out of the ring and spending a lot of time on the outside whenever it seemed Hallowicked would gain any momentum, and used a couple of eye-rakes to gain any advantage he could. Hallowicked got a very believable near-fall with a Step-Up Frankensteiner around ten minutes in, and in the final few minutes had much more momentum than Keenan, and appeared to be on his way to winning the title. However, after getting a near-fall with a DDT, Hallowicked went up to the top rope, looking for one more big move to end the match. As he made it to the top rope however, Keenan was already back on his feet. Thinking fast, Hallowicked dived off looking for a top-rope cross-body, but thinking fast himself, Keenan showed the kinds of cunning he's become famous for by diving out of the way, allowing Hallowicked to hit the referee instead! The crowd booed as Hallowicked took the referee out, and Keenan had already left the ring as was picking his belt up from the time-keepers table. He slid back into the ring, an swung the title belt at Hallowicked. However, Hallowicked quickly ducked, and drop-kicked Keenan to counter the attack. Keenan dropped the belt, but was still quick to his feet, where he was met by a quick Hallowicked clothesline. Having momentum even more on his side now, Hallowicked picked Keenan up and hit the 'Monsta Mash'! The crowd cheer as Hallowicked makes the cover – but the referee is still down! The crowd count along, 1-2-3-4-5 but it's all in vain without a referee. Frustrated, Hallowicked gets up, and tries to 'revive' the referee, leaning over him and shaking him to bring him round. This however, has given Keenan time to recover unnoticed, and as he gets to his feet, he picks the title belt up. Hallowicked gives up on reviving the referee to focus on SJK again, but as he turns, gets met by a hard title shot to the face! The crowd boo as Hallowicked drops down to the mat hard. Keenan falls on top of him with the cover, as the referee slowly stirs to count the fall, 1-2-3! Keenan retains the gold! After the match, Keenan slides out of the ring, with a sly grin on his face, and heads to the back with his arms raised as the crowd boo him. Hallowicked slowly gets to his feet, and is clapped for his effort as he groggily leaves the ring. Decent action on the whole.

6) CHARLIE HAAS def. RICKY REYES w/Samoa Joe (15:30), in a technically very good encounter. Like Haas' match with Romero last show, there maybe wasn't a lot of great spots or memorable exchanges, just a lot of good technical more grounded wrestling, although the last five minutes saw them break out some bigger standing moves and take more risks. Like the Haas vs. Romero match last show, Samoa Joe was at ringside, aggressively encouraging Reyes to beat Haas. Reyes seemed to have victory in the bag when he went for a 'brainbuster' around twelve minutes in, but Haas found a way to counter one of Reyes' trademark moves. Reyes also thought he had victory when he locked in his 'Dragon Sleeper' late in the match, but to the disappointment of himself and Joe, Haas was too near the ropes and was able to force the hold to be broken. The finish saw Reyes hit a few stiff strikes and kicks on Haas, then follow up with some solid moves, ending in a traditional back-breaker. Reyes seemed to be in control of the match, but got cocky. As Haas was on all-fours, trying to get to his feet, Reyes was gently kicking Haas in the face, lightly kicking Haas in the side of the head, and generally just toying with Haas and trying to humiliate him, believing victory to be his. Finally, he went to run his boot across Haas' face, and out of nowhere, Haas grabbed Reyes' leg and took him down to the mat! Still holding the leg, Haas went right back into the 'Haas of Pain!' The crowd popped both for the hold, and how suddenly he took control and got the move locked in. Reyes was right in the middle of the ring with nowhere to go and the crowd were screaming for him to tap! Joe was leaning into the ring, shouting at Reyes to hold on and not to tap and encouraging Reyes to the ropes. It was however no use, as Reyes was right in the middle of the ring, and eventually had no choice but to tap-out! Charlie Haas wins via submission! Joe is stood at ringside looking very pissed off. Haas has his arm raised, then turns and sees Joe. Joe shouts something at Haas, but we can't hear what on the home release. We can tell that Haas and Joe have a heated verbal exchange, and Joe does a lot of pointing, maybe signifying a threat. before Joe backs away slowly to the back looking furious as Reyes crawls out of the ring. Haas raises his arms in victory again as he is applauded by the crowd, then he too heads for the back. Good wrestling action.

7) JIMMY RAVE def. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' RODERICK STRONG in a very good match (15:02). Strong was on fire at the start, dominating Rave, and turning the chest of Jimmy Rave bright red with some hard-as-hell chops. After struggling to get a foothold in the match, it was something as simple as an eye-rake that gave Rave the chance he needed to get into the match. From here, Rave controlled the majority of the middle period of the match, but Strong always got little bits of offence in, so the match wasn't totally about Rave's offence. Rave actually threw some hard chops of his own, and almost won a few times, but was always unable to land any major offence that might put Strong down. Strong finally fought back and kept momentum on his side, and had the crowd on their feet when he hit an incredibly stiff 'Yakuza Kick' on Rave after around eleven minutes, but Rave kicked out at 2.9 for a great near-fall. Strong also got the 'Stronghold' locked in soon after, but Rave was far too close to the ropes. The finish was simple but effective, as the pair did the usual indy trading of pinning combinations, until Rave rolled into a pinning combination that had with his knee's on Strong's shoulders! The referee went down to count the fall, and with his eyes watching Strong's shoulders, Rave put his hands on the ropes for extra leverage! Strong squirmed to kick out, but it was unable to do so, and Rave picked up the three-count! Rave jumped out of the ring, happy at his ill-gained victory, and was met met by the referee who raised his hand as the fans booed. Strong protested that Rave held the ropes, but it was no use! Rave heads off to the back, having used the ropes to gain victory in a good contest.

--- We see a specially made video on the home release. The video details the history behind the Sydal/Daniels feud, with the Daniels cheap win, Sydal pinning Daniels and Daniels disrespecting him after, Daniels cheating to eliminate Sydal from an Extreme Warfare match, the forming of Cutting Edge with the horrible dog-collar assault on Sydal to the vile incident at the pairs last meeting where Daniels beat Sydal to hell with a chair and all the other incidents in between!

8) No Disqualifications, Anything Goes

MATT SYDAL def. DANNY DANIELS (19:49) in a fairly good bout. Match was good, but not as good as some of the other wrestling contest's between the two. This however was more of a brawl and a fight than a wrestling match. Sydal started the better of the two and with in a minute had Daniels on the floor trying to re-group. Sydal however was having none of it, and had come for a fight! Sydal came off the ropes and charged across the ring before diving through the middle and top rope to take Daniels down on the floor! Sydal followed up with a series of punches to the head and he was all fired up! They then went into the crowd, and brawled right around the arena for several minutes, Sydal getting nearly all the offence in. When they finally returned to the ring, Daniels was able to finally get some offence in, and was soon in control of the match. For a while, he basically beat the hell out of Sydal, who refused to be beaten. Daniels at one point thought he had won with a sit-down power bomb, but Sydal kicked out, even after having already taken a world of punishment. They then played off he two biggest angles in this feud, as Daniels found a dog-collar, and whipped Sydal with it hard! However, he only got a few shots in before Sydal fought back and forced Daniels to drop the collar! Sydal picked the collar up himself, and finally got revenge for that vicious assault by whipping Daniels to hell with it! This delighted the crowd a lot, as did Sydal beating Daniels down with a chair, in revenge for Daniels using a chair to totally annihilate Sydal on an earlier show. Even though Daniels had dominated this middle period of the match, he only controlled the match in smaller segments as Sydal would fight back fairly often, a few times getting near-falls with quick roll-ups. Daniels did really do a LOT of damage to Sydal however, and the crowd really got behind Matt as he showed great heart to keep fighting back and refuse to be beaten. The last few minutes saw both men hit progressively bigger moves on each other. Sydal hit the 'Urange' and the 'Here it is' driver, but Daniels kicked out of both! The finish saw Daniels send Sydal flying through the air with a release German Suplex! He then picked Sydal up and hit a Tombstone Piledriver, and everyone thought that was it, 1-2-NO! Sydal somehow kicked out! Everyone was in shock, not least Daniels at this fantastic fighting effort from Sydal. After looking in despair for a few seconds, Daniels picked Sydal up, and dragged him into the middle of the ring where a chair was laid on the floor. Daniels gave Sydal another hard shot across the back with the chair, and then dropped the chair on the mat. He picked Sydal up, looking for another Tombstone – onto the steel chair! Sydal however managed to wriggle out of the hold, and dropped in front of Daniels. Sydal punched Daniels in the head, and Daniels retaliated with a harder punch. Sydal punches again, with the same result. Eventually, Sydal gets a few shots in, then ran off the ropes for momentum. He ran at Daniels with a clothesline, but Daniels sidestepped it, and tossed Sydal out of the ring to the floor. Daniels bent forward and turned around, hoping to take a moment to recover a little and regain some energy, and so he didn't see Sydal counter by holding onto the top rope as he was sent through the ropes! Whilst Daniels was trying to get himself together to fight on, Sydal was positioning himself on the apron, and when Daniels turned round to face where Sydal was, Sydal did a springboard into the ring and hit a huge 'Dragonrana'- right onto the chair! The back of Daniels' head made a sick impact onto the steel, and everyone in the crowd counted along to the fall, 1-2-3! Sydal wins the big feud with Danny Daniels! The crowd chant for Sydal as he slowly gets to his feet, and has his arm raised. The crowd show their appreciation of a great fighting effort, as Sydal showed so much heart here. As Sydal finally leaves to go up the ramp, Delirious comes to meet him, and the APW Tag Team Champions celebrate at the top of the entrance way together, before heading to the back with much applause for a great effort and a feud winning victory from Matt Sydal! Danny Daniels slowly gets to his feet in the ring, and he has a cut on the back of his head from the chair that has made blood flow right through his hair and down his face. As he staggers out of the ring, Jimmy Rave, Claudio Castagnoli and Seth Delay come to help him to the back. A good 'fight' with Sydal showing a great fighting Spirit as he ends this long running feud, and gets revenge on Daniels for all the heinous assaults.

9) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. SAMOA JOE to retain (25:07) in a very good match. Not a match of the year candidate, but it only falls just short of that. Very good wrestling, although the whole time Shelley struggled to match the power of Joe, as more often than not, Joe dominated Shelley and powered out of holds. This meant Shelley had to be more tactical and cunning, and the middle part of the match was Shelley slowly but surely working over the leg of Joe to good effect. Both men really looked good. Shelley bumped like hell, so Joe looked powerful, bordering on unstoppable at times, whilst Shelley came across as quick and cunning. Shelley was never quite able to utilise the 'Border City Stretch', as Joe never gave him any chance to get it locked in properly, but Shelley still had a lot of other trademark moves at his disposal. At one point he hit the 'Shiranui', but Joe kicked out at two. Quickly, Shelley went up to the top rope, and came off with a 'Frog-Splash'! A few people in the crowd thought he'd won, but Joe somehow kicked out at two! Joe came close to victory many times as well, at one point hitting his old finisher the 'Island Driver', but a resilient Shelley got a shoulder up at two to save the match! Joe got the 'Ole Kick' in as well as his trademark combinations, but non were good enough to bring victory. Shelley had also done a good job of working over the leg of Joe, which still seemed to be giving Joe pain, which held him back a little bit at times. In the last few minutes, both stepped it up even more, as Joe hit a lot of stiff, powerful offence, and Shelley hit a lot of quick moves in and it seemed either man could take it, but Joe was the more likely winner due to his devastating power and moves he had at his disposal. The finish saw Joe whip Shelley into a corner, but Shelley jumped onto the top rope to counter the move. However, Joe was quicker still to react, and leapt up, kicking Shelley hard with an Enziguri! The crowd sensed what was coming next, as Joe hooked Shelley in position for the 'Muscle Buster'! Despite being a heel, everyone was cheering for Joe and for the almost imminent title change as Joe brought Shelley off the ropes and into the ring, ready to hit the 'Muscle Buster'! However, Shelley was saved when Joe's leg gave way under the pressure! It didn't give way totally, but it was enough to upset Joe's balance, and to allow Shelley to slip out of the hold and drop to the mat behind Joe. Shelley quickly span Joe round and went for the 'Shellshock', but Joe countered, shoving Shelley off! Shelley span backwards, and Joe quickly locked in his choke-hold submission! The crowd again popped loudly, as there was no-way Shelley was getting out of this one! Joe fell backwards, taking Shelley down, and wrapped is legs round Shelley's waist – he has the choke-hold fully locked in! The crowd cheer for the move and shout at Shelley to tap. For a few seconds, Shelley struggled to escape the hold, but couldn't find a way out, Joe had it in way too tight! It was only a matter of seconds before Samoa Joe became the third APW Champion! Alex Shelley however had one last way to try and escape the hold. He was close to the rope, and using the bottom rope to push himself off, he was able to roll onto his back, thus pinning Joe's shoulders to the mat! The referee saw this, even if it seemed no-one in the crowd did, and he began to count the fall. 1-Joe realises – but Shelley puts his feet on the ropes for that extra leverage to pin Joe down! 2-Joe tries to kick out-but doesn't make it-3! Shelley was able to use the ropes for that extra leverage to pin Joe! Shelley never got out of the Choke-hold though, and manages to snatch victory from defeat! Some of the crowd cheer the fall as they believed Shelley had tapped out, but most had realised how Shelley had got the pinfall. Shelley and Joe awkwardly struggle to break the hold, then Shelley rolls to the outside, and lays on the floor, trying to recover after being choked out by Joe. Joe goes ballistic in the ring, shouting, and kicking the turnbuckles. He eventually leaves ringside, but is still VERY pissed off. Shelley slowly gets to his feet at ringside, and has his arm raised and his belt handed to him before a booing crowd. The live show ends with Shelley holding his belt up, proud of his win. Alex Shelley retains, very good match!

--- The end of the home release sees Colt Cabana cut a quick interview. Cabana says he won tonight, and its another win on the way to his APW Championship challenge! Cabana says when he has a good run of wins together, he'll go for the belt, so the champ had better get ready!

'Sterling' James Keenan gives an interview. Keenan says he beat a top Lightweight competitor tonight, to prove he is the best Lightweight competitor in this company, and he has the belt to prove it.

We then go to Alex Shelley, who gloats a little about beating Joe. Shelley then says again though, its another win for the “best singles wrestler on the roster”. He says tonight, Joe just became another name in a long, long list of people who he's beaten. He jokingly asks where the fun is any more!? He says at the end of the last show, he hinted at going for the APW Tag Team Championships, and now he's saying that he is! All he needs is a partner...

At this point, SJK walks past, after filming his interview. As he walks past, Shelley seems to have a brainwave, and calls him. Keenan stops, and Shelley runs after him down the corridor. The camera pans round to follow. Shelley tells Keenan of his plan to go for the APW Tag Team Championships, but he needs a parter. He points out that they hold all the singles gold in APW between them, so what's to stop them becoming a great team to win Tag Team gold as well? Keenan grins ans says they should talk more. They walk off down the corridor as the show ends.

- End Show -

Quick Results:

1)Delirious def. 'Double C' Claudio Castagnoli (13:49) ***1/2

2)'Kool' Seth Delay def. Trik Davis, Grim Reefer and Jigsaw (8:52) **3/4

3)The Iron Saints def. The Ring Crew Express (11:25) ***1/4

4)'Classic' Colt Cabana def. Jay Lethal (13:21) ***3/4

5)'Sterling' James Keenan def. Hallowicked (13:37) ***

6)Charlie Haas def. Ricky Reyes (15:30) ****

7)Jimmy Rave def. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' Roderick Strong (15:02) ***1/2

8)No DQ: Matt Sydal def. Danny Daniels (19:49) ***1/4

9)Alex Shelley def. Samoa Joe (25:07) ****1/4

Thoughts: A good show. The main event is a great match, if one that maybe falls just short of what it might have been. Sydal/Daniels is a fitting end to a long and violent feud which does a lot to make Sydal look like a big star whilst not burying Daniels in the process and plays off the past angles in their feud well. Rave/Strong, Haas/Reyes and Cabana/Lethal are all very good matches, and the earlier matches deliver very well with a strong opener from Delirious and Claudio and a good tag match with The Saints and RCE. Add a solid Lightweight Championship match and a decent little four-way and you have a very good wrestling show, that also effectively ends one feud, and adds a little bit of story (if maybe not enough) to upcoming shows. Good stuff.

As my last post seemingly got deleted when the board screwed up the other night I'll try and remember what I put...

Fucking great show man! And if it wasn't for the Jiga-hate ;), I'd have got all of my predictions correct! lol.

And I know it's early, but I'll predicitify on those matches you've already put up.

APW Meeting of Champions

June 22nd 2007

Chicago, Illinois

Matches so far:

Meeting of Champions!

APW Tag Team Championships

Matt Sydal and Delirious © vs. Alex Shelley (APW Champion) and 'Sterling' James Keenan (APW Lightweight Champion)

I could see the tag champs retaining, leading to them getting singles shots against Shelley/Keenan, as kind of good filler matches until the next BIG match for either of them. Also, I could see Keenan turning on Shelley (but staying heel) leading to a third title match.

Davey Richards APW Debut Match!

Davey Richards vs. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide

Balances the other announced match. Could see you doing the 'Puro-build' with Richards.. having him doing really well against 'Cide, then having 'Cide get the win.

As for the under-card, don't know what you have planned but something like the following might be cool:

Seth Delay, Danny Daniels & Jimmy Rave vs. Trik Davis, Grim Reefer & Jigsaw --- story being the three latter guys were screwed ou of their full-time contracts by Cutting Edge. This doesn't stop them being booked part-time so... makes sense.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Sedrick Strong --- Kind of makes sense following on from Rave/Roderick. Claudio would go over... clearly.

Then something inlvolving Joe, Cabana, Haas, Hallowicked, Lethal, etc, etc

--- You all by now know about the HUGE Main event signed for the June 22nd return to Chicago as the APW Tag Team Champions MATT SYDAL and DELIRIOUS defend the titles against the APW Champion ALEX SHELLEY and the APW Lightweight Champion 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN! With all four APW Champions in one match, we had to name this event Meeting of Champions. This is a huge match both for bragging rights and for the potential ramifications. This may be the biggest title defence yet for the Champions, and how big will it be if they see off this 'all-star' champion team of challengers? Furthermore, what will happen if Sydal or Delirious beats Keenan or Shelley? A victory must put them to the top of the contenders list for either belt! Delirious has a great record, and Sydal has all the momentum in the world! He won the last tag team title defence the Champions had against The Havana Pitbulls, he won another three matches in two nights, pinning Mistico, Hallowicked, Jay Lethal AND Jerry Lynn to become the 'King of The Lightweights' 2007, and then won his huge feud with Danny Daniels last month! It won't be easy for the champs though, as Shelley has one of the most impressive win/loss records in wrestling today, and he has defended the APW Championship against an all-star list of challengers that includes men like Colt Cabana, Charlie Haas, Homicide, Jerry Lynn, Roderick Strong and he has beaten Delirious in a title match before. When teamed with the ever impressive SJK, only a fool would bet against them adding to their gold and becoming the new APW Tag Team Champions! And if they did win, just who could stop this hugely successful team? Who knows what's going to happen when we have the Meeting of Champions?

--- Then there is the other huge match signed for June 22nd as indy sensation DAVEY RICHARDS makes his APW debut against the returning 'Notorious 187' HOMICIDE! Homicide is always impressive and many feel he should have become the new APW Champion at King of the Lightweights when he dominated Alex Shelley for the entire matches before falling victim to a small-package. This may lead many to believe Homicide is the favourite, but no-one should count Davey Richards out. Richards was one of the break-out stars of 2006 with some highly impressive showings in PWG, ROH and other indys, and made a big splash in ROH with some fine performances in matches against Jimmy Rave, The Briscoe Brothers and KENTA. Will Davey once again rise to to a huge challenge and beat Homicide? Or will one of APW's biggest names once again show why he is at the top of the card as Homicide earns another win? Only one way to find out!

--- As the financial situation of ROH grows worse, the company today released a few talent names, including former APW star SALVATORE RINAURO. Negotiations have already begun with Rinauro about making a comeback to APW. More on this as news comes in.

--- CUTTING EDGE have explained why they helped 'Cool' SETH DELAY win the four-corner survival and earn an APW contract at Shelley vs. Joe. Cutting Edge leader DANNY DANIELS explained that as the group name suggests, the group exist the give APW a 'Cutting Edge', and Seth Delay can help them do that. Daniels also said that he had to wait years and years for any kind of big break in wrestling. He claimed that Jimmy Rave had to fight his way to the top, and that for too long, Claudio Castagnoli was held back. That is what brought them together in the first place, but they refuse to let a talent like Delay be held down, and that is why they have brought him into Cutting Edge. Delay's old tag partner Jimmy Rave also vouched for Delay and just how big an impact he expects him to make. How will this dynamic yet inexperienced member of Cutting Edge fare? We won't have too long to find out as all four members of Cutting Edge have been signed in matches for Meeting of Champions!

Firstly, a big tag team match has been signed as we have a King of the Lightweights re-match as JIMMY RAVE and 'Double C' CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI take on THE STRONG BROTHERS! The feud between these two teams has grown stronger in recent times, as Rave and Castagnoli cheated to beat the Strong Brothers at King of the Lightweights, then last month, Rave again cheated to pin Strong for the second show in a row. The Strong Brothers are angry and are after a big win over their rivals. With the tag team division having several teams all fighting it out for the next title shot, this match could be of huge importance.

The next big match involves Cutting Edge leader DANNY DANIELS, who has been booked in a high-stakes match with 'Classic' COLT CABANA! Cabana is looking to gain some wins before he gets his APW Championship match, and Daniels will be a stern test for Cabana and a good indicator of how ready Cabana is for the shot at Alex Shelley! As for Daniels, he won a lot of matches in his feud with Matt Sydal, but ultimately lost the feud, so Daniels is eager to bounce back right away with a win. With both men having big incentives to win, this match has a lot on the line and should be a great match!

Finally, TRIK DAVIS rang APW offices and asked for a match against a member of Cutting Edge. Davis was in control of the match to earn a regular APW contact until Cutting Edge interfered and helped SETH DELAY win. Although he didn't win the contract, Davis was really eager for the match and showed a lot of desire to compete. Who better for Davis to face than the man who beat him? At Meeting of Champions, Trik Davis will face the newest member of Cutting Edge in Seth Delay! What better way for Seth Delay to show off why he earned a job and to impress his new stablemates? However, a win could do Trik Davis the world of good in terms of earning a more permanent spot on the roster, and he has revenge as an incentive! Who will win this battle of the Lightweights?

Overall, with all four members in three big matches, June 22nd will be an important night for Cutting Edge!

--- We promised some new names in APW, and once again we have delivered! As if the debut of Davey Richards wasn't enough, Meeting of Champions will see two more APW debuts as JAKE AND DAVE CRIST, aka THE IRISH AIRBORNE make their way to APW! This talented tag team is looking to make a splash in APW, and will be in Chicago on June 22nd! We'll have details of their debut match soon!

--- FLASH FLANAGAN will receive an APW try-out on July 20th in Philadelphia. He is yet another new name in APW's drive to add to the talent roster.

--- THE HAVANA PITBULLS have challenged CHARLIE HAAS to find a partner to face them in tag-team action on June 22nd! Haas has pinned both Rocky Romero and Ricky Reyes on successive shows, much to the chagrin of SAMOA JOE, who is part of THE PACK with Reyes and Romero. Speculation is that Joe put Reyes and Romero up to issuing the challenge, as they look to earn a win over Haas. Joe was visibly displeased after his stablemates lost the matches to Haas, and he and Haas seemed to be at odds at Shelley vs. Joe. We will announce who Haas chooses to be his partner as soon as we get the information!

--- THE IRISH AIRBORNE have been signed in their first APW match. We already announced they would debut in Chicago on June 22nd, but we can now announce exactly what their debut match will be. They will be part of a huge attraction match as ten-man tag team action comes to Chicago! Jake and Dave Crist will team with all three members of THE IRON SAINTS, Vito, Sal and Brandon Thomaselli to take on the team of DUNN, MARCOS, HALLOWICKED, EL GENERICO and KUDO in a HUGE tag team match! This will be a showcase of just what talent APW has in its roster, and there is so much to look out for in this match. Aside from the Airborne looking to impress in their APW debut, we have the long running rivalry between The Iron Saints and Dunn and Marcos to consider. Then we have Hallowicked and Generico, who have made an impressive team in the past, and we all know about Hallowicked's impressive win record. KUDO could also use a good showing t earn more bookings, and has teamed with The Ring Crew Express against The Iron Saints in the past. This is sure to be a quick, high-flying attraction, and one that could well steal the show!

--- Negotiations are complete, and SALVATORE RINAURO will return to APW on June 22nd! Rinauro, now called just Sal Rinauro, was recently released by ROH, and was keen on a return to APW. Rinauro accepts he maybe didn't set the world alight in his last APW run, but says he is going to put all that to rest when he makes his return, and is out to make a big impact in APW. Rinauro has been signed in his return match – vs. JAY LETHAL! Lethal had a very impressive King of the Lightweights tournament, making the final, but lost to Colt Cabana last show, and has also lost to James Keenan in recent times. Lethal, the first ever APW Lightweight Champion will be a stiff test for Sal, and Lethal will want a win after falling last time out. If Rinauro is going to be true to his word, he has one hell of a task ahead of him to beat Jay Lethal, can he start his second APW stint with a bang? Either way, this battle of the Lightweights is sure to be a match not to miss.

--- Extreme Warfare will return on July 20th in Philadelphia.

--- CHARLIE HAAS has announced his partner to battle THE HAVANA PITBULLS at Meeting of Champions. Haas has chosen JERRY LYNN to be his partner. Haas and Lynn are now fairly frequent partners in APW, having teamed in numerous battles with Homicide and other partners. Haas and Lynn are a very talented duo with a lot of trust and respect for each other, and have made a very formidable team in the past, but can they beat The Havana Pitbulls? Can Haas gain another victory over Reyes and Romero, and what part, if any, will SAMOA JOE play in proceedings? This is a huge match, and with four men with the talent of these competitors, it could well be match of the night! Charlie Haas and Jerry Lynn vs. The Havana Pitbulls on June 22nd!

I won't bothered repeating what I guessed on the earlier announced cards...

Special Tag Team Challenge Match

Charlie Haas and Jerry Lynn vs. The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes/Rocky Romero w/Samoa Joe)

Could go either way, but Joe could be the deciding factor. Also balances match below.

Tag Team Grudge Match

The Strong Brothers (Roderick and Sedrick Strong) vs. Jimmy Rave and 'Double C' Claudio Castagnoli

Revenge = Good. I see a Cutting Edge beatdown of the Strongs post match though.

Danny Daniels vs. 'Classic' Colt Cabana

Clearly, Colt is going to win. Clearly.

Jay Lethal vs. Sal Rinauro

Jay > Sal.

Trik Davis vs. 'Cool' Seth Delay

By underhanded heelery

10 Man Tag Match

The Ring Crew Express (Dunn/Marcos), Hallowicked, El Generico and KUDO vs. The Iron Saints (Vito, Sal and Brandon Thomaselli) and The Irish Airborne (Dave and Jake Crist)

omg!! Hallo, ElGen and KUDO all on the same team!! If they lose, I'll kick you in the shin at Uni...
