Mike, you do know you need to blatantly overspend on random talent and make your show a five hour epic... just because... lol.

How's the public image and stuff going? What are you at? How close to the next lev are you?

News Update

--- The First Anniversary Show on January 26th in APW's home of Edison, Nee Jersey is sure to bean unforgettable night of action. We already know of four blockbuster matches signed for the event. One of them sees ALEX SHELLEY defend the APW Championship against CHARLIE HAAS. There hasn't been much animosity between the two, but you can be damned sure they don't like each other. The real factor here though is the talent of both men. Haas is renowned for being an excellent in ring competitor, and Shelley has shown that he can be a fantastic wrestler when he wants to be. The main event of the First Anniversary Show promises to be a wrestling clinic.

--- As for the APW Tag Team Championships, the challengers MATT SYDAL and DELIROUS aren't exactly in the best momentum heading into their showdown with The Strong Brothers. Remember, the show marks the ONE YEAR anniversary of not only APW, but also the brother's incredible reign as tag team champions that has seen them put away every team that has tried to take the titles off them. Sydal and Delirious will need to be on top form to have a chance of winning, and would have liked to take some momentum into the match. As it stands, Sydal lost in the first round of the APW Lightweight Championship tournament, was beaten in Extreme Warfare by Danny Daniels in November, and only took a DQ win over Daniels at Tag Team Extravaganza last month. Delirious was one half of a team that took the Strong's to the limit at All on the Line in September, and did reach the finals of the Lightweight tournament, where he lost to Jay Lethal. He since beat James Keenan, but fell to Lethal last month. It's not the kind of form the challengers want going into this match with the dominant force in APW tag team wrestling. Can Delirious finally get that big win in a title situation (he has one draw and four losses in APW Championship matches to date)? Can the long term friends and enemies beat the champions? Can the Strong's make it beyond a year as Champions? Can anyone beat them? We'll find out on January 26th.

--- As for MATT SYDAL, it brings us to the situation with JIMMY RAVE and DANNY DANIELS, who last month banded together, promising to give APW a 'Cutting Edge'. Rave made sure the match between Sydal and Daniels last month ended as a DQ, and he and Daniels inflicted a minor beat down on Sydal after the match. Remember, Rave had to make an impact to get his APW job back after Daniels it appears hired him for the night. APW still were not keen on giving Rave his job back after his past attitude problems, but Sydal begged officials to re-hire Rave, because Sydal wants to get a piece of Jimmy Rave himself! After much consideration, APW HAVE agreed to let Jimmy Rave return to APW competition. This was however, AFTER we signed a match for our February 9th show in Philly! APW had already signed the Sydal/Daniels re-match for that date! Can the score between these two finally be settled? And what part will Daniels' new buddy Jimmy Rave play in the match?

--- It brings us on to JIMMY RAVE's APW return match. In a special attraction bout at the First Anniversary Show, Rave will face MILANO COLLECTION AT! No real history here, but what promises to be a good wrestling contest for the fans!

--- The final title match at the First Anniversary Show sees the APW Lightweight Champion, JAY LETHAL defend against B-BOY. There is a rivalry building here. Lethal beat B-Boy in the semi-finals of the tournament to crown the first APW Lightweight Champion, but was subjected to a post-match beat down by the 'New Age Punisher' afterwards. After the tournament, Lethal and APW Officials discussed challengers for the belt, and B-Boy was one of the first names out of Jay Lethal's mouth – he wanted revenge! Last time out in New York, B-Boy appeared after Lethal's match and made gestures that the belt would be his. B-Boy came close to beating Lethal before, and he believes he can go further this time and beat the champion. Lethal is fired-up and wants payback for the sneak attack. Lethal is also a fighting champion, and won't give up the belt without a fight!

--- Who can forget the HUGE showdown between SAMOA JOE and COLT CABANA? It'll be the first one-on-one match between the two since Joe joined Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero to form The Pack. You all know the build-up to this one. It doesn't need anymore hying with words. All that needs saying is this. Joe. Cabana. First Anniversary Show.

--- There are still plenty of issues that need settling on the APW roster. HOMICIDE for instance has found himself with two enemies, CHARLIE HAAS and JERRY LYNN. Both would dearly like a chance to face 'The Notorious 187', but since as Haas is involved in the APW Championship match in the main event, that leaves Jerry Lynn with a clear shot at Homicide. As such, Jerry Lynn and Homicide will face one-on-one at the First Anniversary Show! The feud here goes back a long, long time, to last February. Lynn still believes a neck injury sustained at the hands of 'The Notorious 187' was one of the key factors in Lynn losing the APW Championship to Alex Shelley. The last one-on-one match between the two ended in a draw last July. Lynn recently returned to action after suspension to team with Charlie Haas to beat B-Boy and Homicide, but there is much more to this feud then just that. This is a long-standing issue here in APW, and almost a year into this rivalry it looks to be settled on January 26th.

--- EL GENERICO vs. SALVATORE RINAURO has been signed for the First Anniversary Show in Edison. Back at All on the Line in September, Generico made his debut, beating Rinauro in a qualifying match for the APW Lightweight Championship tournament. Generico would lose in the first round of that tournament, and Rinauro came out after and challenged him to a match, a match he won at Three-Way War. Last month, they were on opposite sides in the eight-man tag team match. These men both have a win over each other in APW, and want to prove once and for all who is the better man.

--- A final match has been signed for the First Anniversary Show! A year ago, APW had a six team elimination match to crown the first ever APW tag team champions, and the match format will return here a year on, featuring many of APW's top tag teams! To add an incentive to proceedings, the winning team guarantees themselves a future APW Tag Team Championship match! Six teams will compete in this match, fought under elimination rules. Two teams start. Every three minutes, a new team enters. Elimination by pinfall, submission or DQ. Last team standing wins. The match will be THE RING CREW EXPRESS vs. THE IRON SAINTS vs. SOUTHERN COMFORT vs. THE AERIAL EXPRESS vs. THE WILDCARDS vs. THE HAVANA PITBULLS!

There are some issues to consider in this match. Firstly, The Pitbulls have already challenged The Strong Brothers to a tag team championship match, and they have an issue with the champs. They want to win this one to get that guaranteed title match. The Ring Crew Express have just come off that long war with The Wildcards, emerging victorious last month, and they want to put a run together. It will be the first time since their feud with Southern Comfort that the two teams have met in a match in APW, but more recently, Southern Comfort have stolen two victories against the run of play against The Aerial Express, who will want to prove they can beat Comfort. Finally, there is The Iron Saints, who have struggled in recent months to hold down a regular place on shows. Winning this match, and possibly then going on to win tag team gold would get them that regular place the crave. Six teams, all with varying stories and motivations, but all with one common goal. The APW Tag Team Championships. Only one team can guarantee a future shot at the gold, but which team will it be?

--- Check out the end of year awards, listed below! The DVD home release of the First Anniversary Show will have the announcement of the award results, and clips of the winners at points during the show, as well as some stats from APW's debut year.

Thoses losses suck - but APW is bigger than any one guy. :)

APW Championship

Alex Shelley © vs. Charlie Haas

I could see Shelley keeping it by under-handed methods and Haas winning in a re-match down the line.

APW Lightweight Championship

Jay Lethal © vs. Winner of six man mayhem

No sense having the Mayhem winner win unlessthere are getting an uber push.

APW Tag Team Championships

The Strong Brothers © vs. Matt Sydal and Delirious

I really dislike the idea that, after all the great teams the strongs have beaten, that Deli and Sydi would be the team to topple them after a one year reign.

Grudge Match

'Classic' Colt Cabana vs. Samoa Joe

Joe, possibly. I see this being developed into a Punk-Joe esque trilogy, except with Joe losing in the end.

Grudge Match II

Jerry Lynn vs. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide

Could go either way.

Six Man Mayhem

Winner gets immediate APW Lightweight Championship match

Hallowicked vs. Grim Reefer vs. Trik Davis vs. Brandon Thomaselli vs. Sabian vs. 'Sterling' James Keenan

I'd love to see the SJK Express get rolling in this match and follow it up with a strong showing against Lethal.

Salvatore Rinauro vs. 'The Generic Luchadore' El Generico

ElGen with the BRAINBUSTAH~!

Tag Team Attraction

Winners get a future APW Tag Team Championship match

Elimination Rules. Two teams start. Every three minutes, a new team enters. Elimination by pinfall, submission or DQ. Last Team standing wins.

Apart from pssibly the Iron Saints, they all seem like cannon fodder for the Pitbulls...

APW - First Anniversary Show

January 26th 2007

Edison, New Jersey

Final Card:

APW Championship

Alex Shelley © vs. Charlie Haas

If Lynn couldn't take the belt off Shelley, I doubt Haas could. I don't think anyone can take the belt off of Shelley right now...except maybe Jesus.

APW Lightweight Championship

Jay Lethal © vs. Winner of six man mayhem

I wanna vote for B-Boy! Sucks about those losses.

APW Tag Team Championships

The Strong Brothers © vs. Matt Sydal and Delirious

Keep the belts warm for the Pitbulls.

Grudge Match

'Classic' Colt Cabana vs. Samoa Joe

Cabana's gonna have to do a lot to take Joe down. I don't think it'll happen...yet.

Grudge Match II

Jerry Lynn vs. 'The Notorious 187' Homicide

I really can't choose. I only picked Homicide because everyone else is picking Lynn. :-P

Six Man Mayhem

Winner gets immediate APW Lightweight Championship match

Hallowicked vs. Grim Reefer vs. Trik Davis vs. Brandon Thomaselli vs. Sabian vs. 'Sterling' James Keenan

I was this close to voting for Hallowicked to win the Lightweight title too but decided against it.

Salvatore Rinauro vs. 'The Generic Luchadore' El Generico

OLE! That's my answer for all things Generico.

Tag Team Attraction

Winners get a future APW Tag Team Championship match

Elimination Rules. Two teams start. Every three minutes, a new team enters. Elimination by pinfall, submission or DQ. Last Team standing wins.

My personal pick for the next Tag champs.

I'll get back to you on the End of Year Awards.

First Anniversary Show

January 26th 2007

Edison, New Jersey

--- Three interviews kick off this special home release of the First Anniversary Show! We start with Samoa Joe. Quick interview. Joe just says that Colt Cabana can't beat him, and he'll prove that fact tonight. Joe then says that last month The Pack proved they were the dominant force in APW, and they'll prove that tonight when The Pitbulls win the tag team contenders match, and he beats the hell out of Cabana.

Unsurprisingly, Cabana follows. He says that now is the night he finally gets Joe one-on-one. He is after revenge, and there will be hell to pay. He will show Joe the cost of betrayal. Cabana was deadly serious here, no comedy at all.

Alex Shelley finishes off the pre-show interviews. He says that Charlie Haas will just be the latest in a long line of victims, as Alex Shelley has proved his is by far the best wrestler in APW.

1) THE HAVANA PITBULLS def. SOUTHERN COMFORT, THE AERIAL EXPRESS, THE IRON SAINTS, THE WILDCARDS and THE RING CREW EXPRESS (19:41). Decent match, but nothing great. Dunn and Marcos and Southern Comfort start us off. Basic wrestling here. Marcos hits a cross-body to the floor onto Smothers as the only stand-out moment of the first three minutes, before we are joined by The Aerial Express. Business picks up a little bit, as after teaming up to clear the ring of Southern Comfort, The AXP and Dunn and Marcos take each other on, in a fun, speedy little showdown, before Comfort come in and try to sneak a win on both teams. Some decent three-way action wraps up an eventful three minutes, before The Iron Saints enter as the fourth team in the match. Only a minute or so later, we have out first elimination, as Scorpio Sky traps Hamrick in a 'Small Package', and Hamrick cannot escape! Southern Comfort are eliminated by pinfall, and whatsmore, The Aerial Express finally get a win over Southern Comfort, who had two wins against the 'run of play' against them before! The next couple of minutes are some of the best parts of the match, with The Ring Crew Express, The Aerial Express and The Iron Saints putting quite an enjoyable show, if one that seemed to lack a bit of rhythm. A few more high-flying moves here, including the usual 'everyone dives to the floor' shot, starting with a Quicksilver plancha to Vito Thomaselli. Just before the three minutes were up though, Scorpio Sky and Sal Thomaselli were fighting in the ring. Sky went for a backslide, but Sal countered into one of his own! He put his feet on the ropes for extra leverage! 1-2-3! The Iron Saints steal a pinfall! The Aerial Express leave angrily from ringside, and they pass the fifth entrants, The Havana Pitulls! Business picks up, as they beat the hell out of the other two teams. After a couple of minutes of the Pitbulls wearing Dunn, Marcos and The Iron Saints down now with generally basic but brutal offence, the teams re-grouped to send the Pitbulls to the floor, leaving The RCE and The Saints in the ring. After a quick sequence, Sal Thomaselli was double drop-kicked to the floor, and Dunn and Marcos hit their 'Assisted Senton' double-team move on Vito to eliminate the Saints! The final team was The Wildcards. They beat down on Dunn and Marcos for a few seconds, before Reyes and Romero got back into the ring. This was around the fourteen minute mark. The next couple of minutes were fairly dull, as bar the odd stiff kick from Reyes and Romero, the match just plodded along, before Romero rolled Eddie Kingston into his 'Jumping Armbreaker'! Kingston squirmed in the hold for a few seconds. Marciano entered the ring to make the save, but Marcos jumped on top of him, meaning Kingston had no choice but to tap out! Its down to the Havana Pitbulls, and The Ring Crew Express, who were the first team in. This part was a short, but fast-paced 'match-up'. The Pitbulls beat down on the RCE, who were playing up the length of time spent in the match. Dunn and Marcos fought back some, but in the end, Reyes pinned Dunn with a Fisherman's Buster' to pick up the win! Fast eliminations in some places may annoy some, and the match varies in quality a lot, from some really fun parts to some dull moments. Overall, an average match, but it did reasonably well last off as an opener to get the crowd going. The Havana Pitbulls earn a guaranteed APW Tag Team Championship match!

2) 'The Generic Luchadore' EL GENERICO def. SALVATORE RINAURO (12:13). WAY better than the pairs previous two matches. They had both been quite poor, but this was a fun little affair. Not going to be considered a great match, but was a very enjoyable lightweight style match. Fast action and good diving moves. Of course, this meant little psychology, but after the plodding matches the two had put on before, then an entertaining, fast paced match was what was welcome. Plenty of near falls, everyone thought Rinauro had won it when around the nine minute mark, Generico went for a '450 Splash', but Rinauro moved out of the way, then rolled Generico up for a close two count. In the end, it was a very similar way that Generico won, as Rinauro floored him with a belly-to-back suplex, then went up top, looking for his 'Phoenix Fury Leg-Drop', but it was Generico's turn to roll out of danger, so Rinauro crashed and burned. Generico simply then hit the 'Brainbustaah' for the three count. Fun little match that surpassed the two's previous matches together.

--- The first 'End of Year' award is show on the DVD release. Just a top two here. The runner-up gets a very brief highlights package of only a few seconds, the winner gets a lengthier one.

Rising Star Award

RUNNER-UP: Delirious

WINNER: Hallowicked!

3) Six Man Mayhem

HALLOWICKED def. GRIM REEFER, TRIK DAVIS, BRANDON THOMASELLI, SABIAN and 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN to earn the Lightweight Championship match (10:17). Average, but with some good flurry's of action. Hallowicked may have won, but the story was that Keenan got the biggest 'push' of the match, as he owned everyone. He really stepped up, as he is meant to be trying to impress after a sub-par APW year. Keenan really dominated most of the match. Good first few minutes as everyone tried to out-do each other with the inevitable dives to the floor, ending with Hallowicked landing on everyone with a corkscrew senton. Once the action went back into the ring, it was where the match became quite average, but with the odd good quick exchange. The match of course eventually broke down, and Keenan looked even stronger here, getting a near fall on Brandon after a huge powerbomb. Keenan had clothesllined Brandon and Sabian to the floor, where they began to trade punches, oblivious to what was happening in the ring. With Hallowicked down on the floor on the far side of the ring, and Davis slumped against a turnbuckle, it left Keenan and Reefer. Keenan managed to hit the 'MK Ultra' and everyone expected that to be it, but Davis made the last second save. He tried to whip Keenan across the ring, but Keenan reversed it and sent Davis instead. When Davis came back, Keenan gave the small fighter a huge shoulder toss, Davis landing hard on his back and rolling to the floor. Keenan watched him roll to the outside, and turned round – right into a Hallowicked drop-kick! Keenan was sent through the top and middle rope, leaving Hallowicked to pick up the downed Reefer and hit the 'Monsta Mash' for the win (although he is a heel, quite a few people booed Keenan not winning after his performance)! Hallowicked gets the title match. Jay Lethal comes out, and after a short break, allowing the mayhem competitors to leave, we go right into:

4) APW Lightweight Championship

JAY LETHAL and HALLOWICKED draw (9:02) when James Keenan caused a no-contest. Good match for what was here, they went right into the action right away. Lethal squirmed out of the 'Monsta Mash', in the opening few minutes, and quite early in, Lethal hit his diving head-butt only for Hallowicked to be close enough to the ropes to stick out a leg to break the fall. Mostly even, but Lethal probably had the edge, spending some of the time they had working over Hallowicked's left leg. Some good action came to a stop when James Keenan ran down, and entered the ring, attacking both men with the title belt, causing the match to be thrown out, much to the anger of the crowd.

As Lethal was getting to his feet, Keenan got a mic, and said it was unfair that he didn't win the six man match, he was the most deserving winner, and it should have been his title match. He says that he is going to show APW fans just what he can do, he wants to make a name for himself, and the way he wants to do that is by becoming the APW Lightweight Champion. He challenges Jay Lethal to a title match next month. Lethal is handed a mic, and says that though Keenan hasn't won any matches to earn it, Lethal wants to be known as a fighting champion, and wants to build the prestige of the Lightweight Championship, and the way to achieve both these things is to not back down from any challenge, and defend against all comers. So, challenge accepted! Keenan smirks, and says that next month we will have a new APW Lightweight Champion, before he turns and heads to the back. Lethal turns round, to see Hallowicked getting to his feet. There is an un-easy feeling in the ring, as Hallowicked is understandably pissed at how his title match ended. Lethal seems to be apologising, and extends a hand. Hallowicked looks at the hand for a while, and then swings out an arm just touching Lethal's hand, ever so barely accepting the handshake before heading off the the back. He kicks some guard rail on the way, still showing his anger. Lethal too looks a bit upset at the outcome of the match, but he keeps his belt, which he collects, before leaving the ringside area. Quite good for what there was.

--- We are joined in the ring by Danny Daniels and Jimmy Rave. Daniels boasts about pulling the wool over everyone's eyes by it being him who hired Jimmy Rave for the night, and boy, did he make an impact! Rave said he had been re-hired by APW, because the company had 'no choice' but to beg for him to return after what he and Daniels had done together. Daniels said this was the start of a great team. No, rather the start of a great group. That's because there is one more person to join this union. One more person who has become forgotten and over-looked, not to mention under-appreciated by APW management, and the fans. This one person has been misused, and he wants that to change. And the way to make that change is to join with this group that will make sure the people in it go where they want to, and achieve what they deserve to achieve. This group will make sure its members aren't over-looked anymore and start getting noticed, they won't take this kind of treatment anymore. This one person is – 'Double C' Claudio Castagnoli! Castagnoli struts down to the ring to join Rave and Daniels. Claudio said he was going nowhere at the hands of APW management, then he saw to people in the same position as him, and together they will do something about it. Before the three leave, Daniels gets the mic again, and simply says “Daniels – Rave – Castagnoli. At the 'Cutting Edge' of professional wrestling.”

The trio walk to the back with a confident smirk across all of their faces.

--- Second end of year award on the DVD. Same format as before.

Feud of the Year

RUNNER-UP: N/A

WINNER: Alex Shelley vs. Jerry Lynn!

It is announced it was a unanimous vote. A long highlights package lasting a couple of minutes plays, going through the Shelley vs. Lynn feud step-by-step.

5) APW Tag Team Championships

MATT SYDAL and DELIRIOUS def. THE STRONG BROTHERS to win (17:32)! The championship reign of the Strong Brothers ends at the one year mark! Good match, with some memorable moments. Crowd was behind the champions for much of the match, not to say they booed the challengers, but simply cheered the brothers more. That said, it seemed like the entire crowd was counting along with the deciding fall in unison, it was a great moment. Delirious pinned Sedrick to capture the belts for his team. Match began with an even exchange, and the usual dives to the floor, before the tag team champions took the advantage, and looked well on course to pass the one year mark as champions as they isolated Delirious from Sydal for quite a while. When Sydal finally got the tag, he looked very good, and maybe had Roderick pinned with the Uranage, only for Sedrick to break the fall at two. The challengers had a few near falls, but really whenever Sydal and Delirious looked like getting a real advantage in the match however, the brothers always cut them off, and so always looked just that little step ahead. As well as that, the champions always had their challengers signature moves well scouted, being able to block or counter just about every well known move of either Sydal or Delirious. That was until the finish. The Brothers were looking stronger still, and the match appeared to be over when Roderick blitzed Delirious with a huge combination of back-breakers, ending with his shattering 'Half Nelson Back-breaker'. He went for the cover, and the crowd counted along academically, 1-2-No! Sydal dives across the ring to break the fall! Sydal clubs Roderick across the back, but Strong is too...well... strong and fights back. He has Sydal reeling by the ropes. He takes a running start, and goes to clothesline Sydal over the top but in maybe the key momentum change in the match, certainly the key move of the match, Sydal ducked and pulled the top rope down, sending Roderick flying to the floor. The crowd sensed something was about to go down. During this, Sedrick had seen the floored Delirious, and picked him up in the centre of the ring. He locked his arms round Delirious' neck, maybe going for a DDT, but Delirious struggled out of the lock and hit a Flatliner! Delirious and Sydal looked at each other, and each mounted one of the two near turnbuckles, Delirious the left one facing into the ring, and Sydal the right facing out to the floor. The crowd began to cheer louder, then at the exact same moment, Sydal jumped to the floor, taking Roderick down with a cross-body, and Delirious dived into the ring, hitting Sedrick with 'Shadows over Hell'! The crowd were on their feet to call along with the count, 1-2-3! We have new tag team champions! Sydal and Delirious end the reign of The Strong Brothers! Sydal and Delirious celebrate like mad as the crowd cheer along. They are handed the belts, and each again mount a turnbuckle to raise the belts to the crowd, as they get down, the Brothers are behind them. After looking at each other for a few seconds, The Strong's extend hands, and the two teams shake hands! The Strongs make a retreat to the back, looking slightly shellshocked, leaving the new APW Tag Team Champions to celebrate in the ring. Sydal holds his belt aloft one last time. Delirious tries biting into his, only to discover is wasn't as chocolate filled as he'd initially anticipated.

--- The third award segment on the DVD. This time, in two parts. First up is a stat, but with a top three this time.

Show of the Year

RUNNER-UP: Summer Showdown

WINNER: All on the Line!

6) SAMOA JOE def. 'Classic' COLT CABANA (18:37) via stoppage in a very good match. Cabana was right out of the traps, and had Joe reeling a lot in the opening exchanges, as he was all kinds of fired up and after revenge. The match calmed down a bit, as Joe used his size advantage to get back into the match, and then try and keep Cabana grounded in various mat based holds to stop Cabana getting any momentum. This was part of the overall story of the match, that Cabana refused to be beaten by Joe. Around ten minutes in, Joe hit the 'Muscle Buster', but Cabana very groggily got his foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Very soon after, Joe hit a very stiff Lariat, but again Cabana kicked out. Joe tried all his favourite combinations, such as the back chop/front kick/knee-drop to no avail, and later did the Boston Crab/STF/Cross-face combo, but despite taking a HELL of a beating, Cabana refused to submit and eventually made it to the ropes. Joe, in desperation used his practically forgotten 'Island Driver', but Cabana again kicked out. Joe was pissed off and maybe getting a little desperate, and tried his mat submission game again, but Cabana still wouldn't give it up. This isn't to say Cabana simply got his ass kicked, as he had some good 'fight-back' moments, including getting a few near falls with his un-orthodox pinning combinations, scoring a near fall with a Lariat of his own, and at one point managed to lift Joe up for the 'Colt 45', but Joe got free. In the end, Cabana was again fighting back from Joe, this time just unleashing with a frenetic flurry of lefts and rights and hard slaps that Joe was again left reeling from, unable to defend himself. Cabana would back to unleash a final devastating blow, and in the only way he could save himself, Joe ducked the right hand, and locked in his choke-hold! Cabana struggled in the hold for ages, and sometimes looked ready to tap, but always stopped himself, refusing to lose to Joe. Cabana tried to escape, but Joe had it locked in too tightly. Eventually, Cabana simply stopped moving, and the referee raised one of his hands, and let go. It dropped right to the floor. He lifted it a second time, and again it dropped. The final time had the crowd expecting Cabana to fight back, but it never came, his hand dropping to the canvas for a third straight time. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell to stop the match. Joe released the hold, but not right away. Joe finally got up, and just left for the back, a nasty look on his face. Cabana didn't move at all, as referee's and medics came to take his motionless body to the back. Joe wins by stoppage, but Cabana refused to get beaten, and was never pinned or made to submit!

--- Next batch of awards on the home release DVD.

Wrestler of the Year

RUNNER-UP: Roderick Strong

WINNER: Alex Shelley!

7)'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE def. JERRY LYNN (21:27). Another very good match. Maybe just a tad below Cabana/Joe due to a lack of drama, but the wrestling was very good. Generally just an enjoyable match, with a counter-move-counter style that kept the match really even, with the sense either man could win at any moment. Crowd loved this back-and-forth all-out style. Lots of escapes and counters from each others trademark moves, Homicide avoiding a 'Cradle Piledriver' attempt in the opening minutes, and Lynn similarly avoiding the 'Cop Killah' in the opening exchanges. Continuing the counter-move-counter, dead-even style of the match, one good exchange saw Lynn duck a clothesline, throw one of his own, only for 'Cide to duck that and hit the 'Ace Crusher' out of nowhere for a nearfall around the twelve minute mark. This began the only real 'slow' part of the match, as Homicide kept Lynn grounded for a few minutes, but this period was very short, and before long the match was back to the high octane style of earlier. Finish saw Lynn stop a brief flurry of Homicide offence with a sharp DDT, which got a two count. Lynn picked Homicide back up, but Homicide shoved him off slightly, and hit a hard clothesline for a near fall of his own. Homicide sensed this could be his chance to hit a big move to end the match, and began signalling for the Lariat, by shaking his arm down, then slowly taking his elbow pad off. He wound his arm round a few times as Lynn began to stumble up, and ran-off the ropes, coming back to Lynn as soon as Lynn was back on his feet. Homicide swung his arm back and then unleashed the Lariat, only for Lynn to duck under it at the last possible second, quickly swing Homicide round and try for the 'Cradle Piledriver'. As he scooped Homicide up however, 'The Notorious 187' blocked Lynn, and managed to drag Lynn into a Small Package! Lynn struggled to break free as the referee counted the fall, 1-2-3! Lynn gets out of the package just that second or so too late! Both are quickly to their feet. Lynn goes for Homicide, but 'Cide jumps out of the ring, and waits – with a huge grin on his face – for the referee to come and raise his arm on the outside. Homicide taunts Lynn from the bottom of the entrance way, before jovially heading for the back. Lynn drops to his feet a little, and rests his head on the middle rope, whilst running a hand through his hair. Lynn had a 'Shit, he got me' look too him. Homicide turns at the top of the entrance way, still grinning like crazy, and raises both arms, to which the crowd boo. Homicide leaves. Lynn gets to his feet, and the crowd clap his effort. A disappointed Lynn leaves the ringside as the fans show their appreciation. Very enjoyable match.

--- Final part of the 'End of year Awards'.

THIRD PLACE: Jay Lethal (8)

RUNNER-UP: Delirious (9)

WINNER: Alex Shelley! (12)

Its explained that again, these were for singles matches only.

Match of the Year

RUNNER-UP: Alex Shelley vs. Jerry Lynn, Cage match (All on the Line)

WINNER: Charlie Haas vs. Roderick Strong, Ironman Match! (Summer Showdown)

8) APW Championship

ALEX SHELLEY def. CHARLIE HAAS to retain (23:46). Probably Match of the night. Just really good technical wrestling, though it maybe didn't contain anything really memorable. The first half was mostly a slower, mat-based affair, but the final half picked up as both men went for the victory. Shelley just kicked out of Haas' bridged German Suplex, and barely a few seconds later, Haas used a Northern Lights Suplex for another long two count. Haas survived several agonising seconds in the 'Border City Stretch' before making the ropes around the twenty minute mark. The last few minutes had been excellent and could have gone either way, until the challenger began to look the more likely winner. Haas however couldn't put Shelley away, and was frustrated more and more. Eventually, Haas took a rare move by going up-top to try and hit that big move to put the Champion down. Shelley however, laid on the mat kicked out a leg, kicking the referee into the ropes, and crotching Haas on the top rope! That desperate move turned out to be the deciding moment manoeuvre of the match. The crowd booed as Haas sank to the mat, and both men laid there for a few seconds, as the crowd egged them on. Both slowly got up at the same time. Haas threw a right hand, but Shelley blocked it and out of nowhere hit the 'Shellshock' for the quick win! Shelley steals another one in a great wrestling match!

--- After the match, Shelley gets a mic. He says that's it. He says that everyone who has ever tried to beat him for the APW Championship has failed. There is no-one else left. Colt Cabana tried and failed. Homicide. Delirious. Milano. Now Charlie Haas. And how can we forget Jerry Lynn? They all tried to take the APW Championship off him and failed, he's beaten everyone there is to beat, everyone who stood in his way has fallen. The one year of APW ends with the champ, the single best wrestler in this company, there is NO-ONE else who can match him. Shelley has just finished that thought, when familiar music plays, and the crowd don't really know how to react to see Samoa Joe walk to the ring! They boo Joe, yet are happy to have someone shut Shelley up, and are intrigued by a Shelley/Joe stand-off. Joe and Shelley go nose-to-nose for a second before Joe grabs the mic out of the champs hand. Joe says well done. Shelley gets another successful defence under his belt. He's got quite the list of conquests, and he's close to agreeing with him on their being no-one else to beat. Almost. You see, Alec Shelley has NEVER defended the APW Championship against Samoa Joe, and when he does, it isn't going to be a successful title defence, Joe WOULD KILL HIM. Joe says that sadly however, he can;t commit to chasing the title with all his efforts right now, because he doesn't believe the feud with Colt Cabana is over, he says that son of a bitch will want more. But once he's done with Cabana, he's coming RIGHT for the APW Championship! Joe turns and goes to walk off, but then stops. With a grin on his face, like he just had a good idea, or thought of something to say. Joe turns, still grinning, and says “I don't know where, and I don't know when......but Alex Shelley, we'll meet again.” Joe drops the mic and walks off. The live First Anniversary Show ends with Shelley, holding the belt in one hand, dropping it so it drags on the floor, head down looking VERY dejected. The last live footage of the show sees Shelley look up, looking shocked, but with no other facial expressions. He simply says “Oh Shit.........”

--- One very very very brief piece of footage ends the home release. Its presumably shot after the Cabana/Joe match, as it sees officials carrying a semi-concious Cabana to the back, draped over their shoulders. As they pass the camera Cabana lifts his head, and says “I never tapped....” before his head drops again as they carry on past.

End Show -

Quick Results:

1)The Havana Pitbulls def. Southern Comfort, The Aerial Express, The Iron Saints, The Wildcards and The Ring Crew Express (19:41) **3/4

2)El Generico def. Salvatore Rinauro (12:13) ***

3)Hallowicked def. Grim Reefer, Trik Davis, Brandon Thomaselli, Sabian and James Keenan (10:17) **3/4

4)Jay Lethal drew with Hallowicked (9:02) ***1/4

5)Matt Sydal and Delirious def. The Strong Brothers (17:32) ***1/2

6)Samoa Joe def. Colt Cabana (18:37) ***3/4

7)Homicide def. Jerry Lynn (21:27) ****3/4

8)Alex Shelley def. Charlie Haas (23:46) ****

Thoughts: A very very good show, one of the best from the company yet. The last three matches are all around the **** range, and I maybe feel slightly harsh only giving ***3/4 to Cabana/Joe and Homicide/Lynn. The tag team title match has a great feeling at the end as the crowd count the final fall, and ends the one year reign as champions of the Strong Brothers, as well as being a good match to boot.

On the under-card, The opening tag match and the six man mayhem both have their moments, but are slightly under-whelming on the whole. Generico and Rinauro give a much improved match and its a solid match, and even though it is very short, Lethal and Hallowicked give a damn good ten minutes of wrestling.

On the whole, its a very good show, and with the added DVD sections, like the 'End of year Awards', it makes a great, if long package. Highly recommended, and is a great end to a year of wrestling and a great start to a second. A classic APW night.

The line with Delirious trying to eat the Tag team championship :lmao: The Joe/Cabana feud is shaping up nicely, and the ending of the show with Samoa Joe coming out to answer Alex Shelley's challenge was great. Similar to Bryan Danielson on the 4/1 ROH show when he claimed he was the greatest ROH champion. Also the prospect of a Joe/Shelley match has me excited. I'm also really intrigued as to who this new superstar is that will face Alex Shelley, someone from Shelley's past? Austin Aries maybe?!

Remember Shelley's worked all over.. it'll probably be a zero-one max alumni or something...

Liked the show and it was well written as normal. Not too pleased at the Strong's losing - would've like a nigh on two year reign maybe but... ah well...

And you know you want to put Shelley and SJK together as a team... you know it...

I like the formation of some stables, now. Although - they are all heels. One or two face stables would be nice. Like, maybe a Lynn/Haas/Cabana threesome with a lower card stable as well (Hallowicked, Sydal & Delirious?)

Awesome One Year Anniversary show, man!! Liked the forming of "Cutting Edge" as they will most likely be called: Should be interesting how you make them out to be. Also, seeing the Strongs run end by the team that didn't have as much momentum coming in as I thought they should have sorta suprised me, and the part with delirious wanting to eat it made me almost fall out of my chair laughing! Cabana not tapping out should make for a good next match, whenever that happens. Also, can't wait for Joe/Shelley for the title...that one will kick ass! Can't wait to find out who Shelley's next opponent is...Kepp up the awesome work, man! Heres to your Two Year Anniversary Show!!!

--- APW return on February the 9th in Philly. Already signed for the card is MATT SYDAL vs. DANNY DANIELS, and ALEX SHELLEY vs. a Mystery opponent.

Sydal and Daniels have issues going back to last August, and a cheap victory scored by Daniels. Since then, the rivalry has grown, and last time the two met in an APW ring in December, 'Cutting Edge' was formed, a Daniels lead group also consisting of Jimmy Rave, and then Claudio Castagnoli. Who can tell what will happen when these two old rivals collide again?

As for the match Alex Shelley is signed up for, the big question is of course, just who is this mystery opponent? We know it is someone from Shelley's past, and speculation has run wild since then as to who it might be. Is it Jack Evans or Austin Aries from Shelley's 'Generation Next' days? Is it long term rival Jimmy Jacobs? Or is it someone from Shelley's battles in Japan? There is only one way to find out..... Remember, the APW Championship WILL be on the line in this one. Can this mystery wrestler beat Shelley and take the gold?

--- One of the biggest talking points coming out of the First Anniversary Show is what next in the COLT CABANA/SAMOA JOE feud? Joe beat Cabana at the First Anniversary Show, but Cabana was never pinned or submitted and feels he deserves another shot at Joe. Joe says that Cabana had his chance, and couldn't beat him. However, if Cabana proves himself worthy, then he can face Joe again. Cabana can do this by beating one of The Pack, and so a match has been signed for February the 9th, as Cabana will take on RICKY REYES! The war between Cabana and The Pack will continue in Philly! Can Cabana get the big win, or will The Pack's dominance continue?

--- As for Joe, he has a big match signed for the show too. The Strong Brothers, who's year long reign as APW tag team champions came to an end last month, were thought by many to go right back into title contention. The team do intend to challenge for the belts ASAP, but with one of the champions, Matt Sydal in singles competition, the titles aren't available to be defended on the February 9th show. RODERICK STRONG sees this as a great chance to get back into singles action. Strong had a memorable series of matches with Charlie Haas last year, and took Alex Shelley to his longest title defence yet, but hasn't featured in singles action for a while. He sees a match with Joe as a great way to get back into competition. Joe vs. Roderick Strong has been signed for the Philly show, and its sure to be a brutal encounter with two of the biggest hitters in wrestling today.

--- To mark the start of our second year, the February 9th show has been named 'It Begins Again...' It may be the start of a new year, but old rivalries are set to continue, as what could well be the final match in the HOMICIDE vs. CHARLIE HAAS saga has been signed for the show! These two have had many matches, dating back to last May in APW, and have feuded ever since. APW aim to bring this long-standing rivalry to an end in February, as well as draw a chapter on the Homicide feud with JERRY LYNN, that pre-dates the Homicide/Haas war even further, going back a year now. To try and do this, a tag team match has been signed for APW's long waited return to Wilmington, Ohio on February 23rd, as Haas and Lynn team to take on Homicide and a partner of his choice. In times gone by, B-BOY would have been that partner, but his departure has left 'The Notorious 187' without his partner. Homicide is believed to be scouting for a new partner now.

So, to try and out an end to these wars once and for all, February the 9th sees Homicide vs. Charlie Haas, and the 23rd sees Homicide and Partner vs. Haas and Lynn. This is Lynn's chance to try and beat Homicide after 'Cide's win at the First Anniversary Show.

--- Two tag matches have been added to the February shows. In the six way tag match last time out, THE RING CREW EXPRESS eliminated THE IRON SAINTS from the match, and The Saints want a 2 on 2 match to try and prove themselves as the better team. On the 23rd in Ohio, THE AERIAL EXPRESS will battle SOUTHERN COMFORT. Comfort have a series of wins against the odds over The AXP, but last month, Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver were finally able to win Comfort, eliminating them from the tag team match. They will look to make it twice in a row to end the feud, whilst Southern Comfort will once again try and get the win over their rivals.

--- CHARLIE HAAS has petitioned for another APW title match. Haas accepts his loss to Shelley at the First Anniversary show, but believes he can beat Shelley for the belt. He is no-longer at the top of the list of challengers, but APW officials will look over his case and will certainly consider someone of his talent for another title match.

--- No word from the champ on SAMOA JOE gate-crashing his victory speech last month. ALEX SHELLEY refuses to discuss it, changing the subject, and even walking out on one interview when it was mentioned. We think me may be in denial, but knowing Shelley this may all be part of a bigger plan. Or he could just be in denial....

--- THE WILDCARDS have laid down an open challenge to any team to face them in Philly. The Wildcards are looking to bounce back in the tag team division and want to prove they can beat any team. See who answers the challenge on the night.

--- A huge four corners match has been added to It Begins Again... Its maybe the biggest four-way in APW history! With their regular partners already signed in matches, ROCKY ROMERO, SEDRICK STRONG and DELIRIOUS will compete in the match. We all know what Romero can do in the ring, and Delirious has a very very impressive record to maintain. Can someone beat one half of the APW Tag Team Champions? Doing so would surely give them a chance to go for the gold. Despite a successful run in the tag team ranks, Strong is still yet to win a singles here in APW, is this his night? Standing in his way as the fourth man in the match is JIMMY RAVE! Rave one third of APW's newest group, 'Cutting Edge', and actually has his first match in the company since last August. His return has caused shock waves, but can he follow up on those with a win? With four great wrestlers and a lot at stake for all four, you don't need telling this could be a memorable and highly enjoyable contest!

--- Who can forget the APW Lightweight Championship match at It Begins Again...? Last month, 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN ruined the title defence of JAY LETHAL vs. HALLOWICKED, causing the match to end in a no-contest. Keenan then challenged Lethal to a title match, which Lethal accepted. Keenan says it should have been his title match last month all along, and Hallowicked stole the victory. Hallowicked has been assured he will get an APW Lightweight Championship match soon as he never lost his last one. Hallowicked himself has been signed in a bonus match for the show, as he will face KUDO in what could be a great lightweight battle.

--- HOMICIDE has shocked the world by choosing ALEX SHELLEY as his tag team partner for February 23rd in Wilmington! Homicide has many reasons for this, as he says that Shelley has beaten JERRY LYNN “hundreds” of times before, and he will do again. He sees Shelley as a valuable weapon to have on his side against Lynn. Also, Shelley has recently beat CHARLIE HAAS. Shelley himself says there is “No danger” as due to the stipulations of their September match, Jerry Lynn “Can't touch this (in reference to the APW Championship). Shelley also says he has beaten Haas before, and can do again. As for Haas, if he pins Shelley, his title petition has to be taken a lot more seriously, but you have to believe he wants to beat Homicide as well to finally end their war. As for Lynn, the inclusion of Shelley makes this a lot more interesting as the official APW 'Feud of 2006' is re-visited! With Lynn unable to get a title match with Shelley as champion, this could be one of a very limited number of times you can see Shelley and Lynn in the ring together again, and you DON'T want to miss it! Lynn also wants his own back on Homicide, and the rivalries and possible repercussions of this match are numerous and immense in number! Simply, APW will bring BLOCKBUSTER tag team action to Wilmington!

It Begins Again...

February 9th 2007

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

--- Plenty of interviews and segment to kick us off on the DVD. Alex Shelley starts. No prizes for guessing he just goes into boasting about how he beat Jerry Lynn the last time they met, and tonight it must be killing Jerry to be in the ring with Alex Shelley yet not be able to do a damn thing about getting close to the APW Championship. He wraps it off by just saying how he's beaten both Lynn and Haas and how he and Homicide are in no danger of losing tonight. James Keenan does a very quick interview basically saying he should have gotten the APW Lightweight Championship match at the First Anniversary Show, and tonight he's going to do what he should have been allowed to do then – win the APW Lightweight Championship.

Roderick Strong does an interview. He talks of his disappointment at losing the APW Tag Team Championships last month, but he says that he and his brother are coming right back for the gold. He then talks about his match with Samoa Joe tonight, and he says that he will use this chance as a stepping stone to build a singles career in APW that is successful as his tag team one.

Homicide is up. He talks over his feuds with Haas and Lynn, and does a basic promo about how he is going to KILL them, about how he hates them and how he can't wait to kick their ass. He then says there is a but. That but is, in the past, he hasn't had too much luck against Lynn and Haas in tag team matches – his partner had a habit of letting him down. He asks where Shelley is, because he needs to know Alex Shelley has his back and won't let him down. Shelley comes up, and the two stare at each other. Shelley finally gives a cocky grin, and just says “Your right.....you haven't had much luck with partners before have you?” They look at each other again, as we go to the ring.

--- The live show begins with The Wildcards in the ring, ready for the team that accepted their open challenge. The music starts, and the crowd cheer to see The Strong Brothers coming down the entrance way, looking pissed off and fired up! The Wildcards try to retreat, but The Strongs jump into the ring, and the match begins!

1) THE STRONG BROTHERS def. THE WILDCARDS (5:03). A near total squash match, but not a bad one. Strongs dominated nearly all the match, the Wildcards only getting fleeting bits of offence in, and one very small period where Sedrick Strong was isolated, as The brothers bounced back from losing the tag team championships in a dominant fashion. Roderick at one point did a huge combination of back-breakers on Eddie Kingston, seemingly going through his entire repertoire of back-breakers, and he also delivered some very brutal chops. The finish saw Sedrick lock the 'Stronghold' in on Jack Marciano. Kingston came into the ring to make the save, but Roderick cut him off with a HUGE Yakuza Kick! With no-where to go, Marciano has no choice but to tap out to Sedrick! The Strong's KILL the Wildcards!

2) HALLOWICKED def. KUDO (11:31) in a slightly below average match. Nothing really major to report here, it was just a basic, watchable match. Fairly competitive, as both men had roughly an equal amount of offence. Finish saw KUDO go up top, and come flying off with a cross-body, but Hallowicked quickly jumped up and met him with a drop-kick in mid-air. He then got KUDO to his feet, and hit the 'Monsta Mash' to pick up the win.

3) THE RING CREW EXPRESS def. THE IRON SAINTS in a surprisingly good match (12:25). Both teams worked really well together, and put on a very nice tag team encounter. Dunn and Marcos looked really good for the first few minutes, until the Saints re-grouped, and isolated Marcos from his partner. They worked him over for several minutes, tagging in a lot to keep fresh, before Marcos was eventually able to tag Dunn in. Last few minutes were quite even, until The RCE were able to get Sal Thomaselli out of the ring, giving them enough time to hit an 'Assisted Slice Bread #2' on Vito to pick up the victory. A lot better than you might think, good tag team action.

4) APW Lightweight Championship

JAY LETHAL def. 'Sterling' JAMES KEENAN to retain (14:00). Good match, slightly more technical, mat affair then the other matches so far. Lethal owned Keenan in the first few minutes, promoting the challenger to throw a mini temper-tantrum on the floor, before re-grouping. Once more focused, Keenan did a lot better, and spent a lot of the match on the offensive, slowly working over Lethal's head and neck, probably to soften him up for the 'MK Ultra'. Lethal had a few unsuccessful comebacks, as Keenan was always able to stop the champion gaining much momentum. Around the ten minute mark, Lethal got back into the match a bit more, and the last few minutes saw momentum swing both ways as either man could have taken the match. In the end, Lethal was able to hit his 'Dragon Suplex' and win a very competitive match.

5) Four Corner match

ROCKY ROMERO def. SEDRICK STRONG, JIMMY RAVE and DELIRIOUS (16:21). Very good action, one of the better four corner matches. The opening few minutes were fairly sterile however, as they made sure all four men got some ring action in the opening minutes, and this meant the match was slightly slow to start and was just going through the motions. Beyond the first five or six minutes though, the action picked up and the result was a very enjoyable match that made all four men really look like potential winners. Around the ten minute mark came the standard dives to the floor, ending with Delirious and Sedrick doing a simultaneous suicide dive onto Romero and Rave. Very shortly after, Delirious got a near-fall after hitting the 'Bizarro Driver' on Rave, only for Romero to break up the fall. Soon, it was Rave who nearly beat Delirious, hitting the 'Rave Clash', only for Sedrick to stop the pinfall. Other signature moves were attempted, but not landed or hit, but just after fifteen minutes, the match appeared to be over when Sedrick locked the 'Stronghold' in on Rave. Sedrick appeared to be close to making two people tap in one night, never mind getting his first singles win, but as Rave appeared to be on the verge of submitting, Delirious broke the hold. Rave rolled out of the ring in a lot of pain, as Sedrick swung for Delirious, but Delirious hit a short-arm clothesline, then signalled toward the top rope. The crowd cheered as Delirious sprang up to the top rope, and came off onto Sedrick with the 'Shadows over Hell' back splash! Before Delirious could make a cover however, Romero sneaked up behind him, and shoved him over the top rope! The crowd jeered at Romero's cheap tactics, but there was nothing they could do as Romero picked Sedrick up, and hit a Fishermans Buster for the win. Very good four-way action that Rocky Romero steals!

6) DANNY DANIELS def. MATT SYDAL (16:46) after interference from Jimmy Rave and Claudio Castagnoli. Match was good, but there maybe isn't an awful lot to say about it, it was just good wrestling. Sydal was really fired up at first and really wanted a piece of Daniels. He looked very dangerous, but Daniels went to the outside a lot, wasting time and stopping Sydal from building up any real momentum. Eventually, this worked to his benefit as he was able to beat on Sydal for quite a while, almost winning a few times with some pretty big moves like a German Suplex, and once with a Northern Lights. This meant Sydal could play the 'Face fighting back' thing he does so well, and was finally able to build some momentum, and by the end of the match looked by far the most likely winner as he had Daniels reeling. Unfortunately for Sydal however, he went to Drop-kick Daniels who stepped out of the way, and Sydal hit the referee. Pretty much instantly, Daniels' new allies Jimmy Rave and Claudio Castagnoli interfered, and began to beat on Sydal, a three-on-one assault! The crowd cheered to see Delirious run down to make the save, but as he slid into the ring, Rave met him with some boots to the head, and then some clubs to the back. At three-on-two, the advantage was still too much to overcome, at least in these circumstances, and Rave hit the 'Rave Clash' on Sydal, before he and Castagnoli threw Delirious to the floor and beat him as they went up the entrance way and out of sight. In the ring, Daniels dropped down and covered Sydal as the referee came round, having not seen a thing. The referee counts the cheap three count to jeers from the audience. Daniels gets the win against momentum thanks to Rave and Castagnoli.

--- After the match, Daniels begins to put the boots in on Sydal, before going to the outside. He goes under the ring, and comes out with something in his hand....its a leather dog-collar! Daniels has a grin on his face, as he is joined at ringside by Rave and Castagnoli, who have presumably disposed of Delirious. They get in the ring and again stomp on Sydal, before Daniels prepares to use the Dog Collar as a weapon. Suddenly, the crowd begin to cheer as once again Delirious comes running down to the ring. This time, he has the element of surprise as Cutting Edge hadn't seen him arrive, and from the floor, he trips Castagnoli, pulls him to the floor, and whips him into the crowd barrier. Rave turns as he slides in the ring. Rave throws a punch, but Delirious ducks, and as Rave swings round, Delirious drop-kicks him, sending him over the top rope. Daniels throws a punch at him now, but Delirious is again quick to react, blocking the punch and giving Daniels a few right hands of his own before clotheslining him over the top rope! The crowd are going mad for the quick save, and Delirious begins to help a groggy Sydal to his feet. As Sydal is half-way up, Delirious turns – and is met with a brutal chair-shot from Castagnoli! The echo goes right around the arena as Delirious swings to the floor, and Castagnoli brings the chair across the back of Sydal to send him crashing back down. Rave slides in the ring, and he is carrying something too, a set of handcuffs! The crowd boo furiously as they realise what might happen. Rave and Castagnoli grin at each other, then drag Delirious over to the ropes, and handcuff him to the middle rope! Delirious can't do anything now! Daniels gets back in the ring, with the Dog Collar again. The crowd continue to boo as Daniels brings it down over the back of Sydal, whipping him hard and sending Sydal's back a bright red instantly. Daniels whips him again, harder and the sound is almost sickening as Sydal cries in pain. Delirious is now concious after the chairshot, and leaps across the ring to save Sydal – only to be dragged back by the handcuffs, he is powerless to stop the whipping as Daniels continues to whip Sydal over and over. Sydal is in immense pain as Daniels continues his vicious assault. The crowd now are almost in a shocked, powerless silence. Daniels finally stops his assault, then raises the collar in the air in a mock celebration. Finally, he, Rave and Castagnoli raise their arms to celebrate. They head for the back as medical teams check on Sydal. Referees are able to cut Delirious free and he goes over to check on his partner. Very very timidly, Sydal is helped to his feet and is helped by medics and Delirious to the back. The camera gets a few shots of his back on the way, and there are some sick welts forming from this heinous assault.

7)'Classic' COLT CABANA def. RICKY REYES w/Rocky Romero (16:51). Good match, probably the second best of the show. Cabana looked good until Romero distracted the referee, allowing Reyes to low-blow Cabana. This lead to the wearing down period, before the all too inevitable fightback from Cabana. Romero kept getting on the apron, often distracting the referee from counting a fall, or whilst Reyes cheated, and Reyes almost beat Cabana on a few occasions because of this. In the end, Romero got up on the apron, and Reyes raked the eyes of Cabana. Reyes stepped back, then charged at Cabana, but this time Cabana ducked, and Reyes ran right into Romero, sending him flying off the apron! The crowd cheered as Reyes staggered back into Cabana, who lifted him up for the 'Colt 45', and the win. Good match, fairly large bits of brawling at times to play up the grudge between the two, but still some good wrestling, and an entertaining contest.

--- Cabana quickly gets on the mic and says that Joe challenged him to prove himself, and here it is. He just beat Joe's partner. Joe's buddy. So, he says he want more of Samoa Joe, and Joe has no excuses now. He's challenging Joe to a match, what do ya say Joe? He wants an answer soon. The crowd are excited at the prospect of another Cabana/Joe match, as Cabana confidently walks to the back.

8) SAMOA JOE def. 'The Messiah of the Backbreaker' RODERICK STRONG (21:50). A 50/50 match in terms of quality. The first half of the match was slightly boring with an elongated 'feeling out' process, and not a lot of action. Time seemed to drag before the match picked up, and the last half of the match was very enjoyable. It became a very brutal match with Joe giving some really hard forearms, and Strong turned Joe's chest red with his brutal chops. Joe got his trademark moves in, including the suicide dive, the 'Ole Kick' and the Back-chop/Front Kick/Knee-drop combo, getting a near fall on the fifteen minute mark with the latter. Joe was beginning to look the obvious winner, before Strong came out of nowhere with a huge combo of back-breakers, just before twenty minutes, ending with his trademark 'Half Nelson Backbreaker', then managed to lift Joe above his shoulders for a huge gutbuster! Many thought that was it as Strong has won with plenty of explosive combo's before, but Joe kicked out at two. The match was getting really good when Strong went for his 'Yakuza Kick', but Joe ducked. Strong reacted quickly though, and whipped Joe into the corner. He charged at Joe, but Joe countered with one of the biggest STO's ever! He damn near put Strong through the ring with it! The crowd reacted to the huge move, as Joe picked Strong up, and tried to lift him for the 'Muscle Buster', but Strong – still very dazed – managed to drop down the back of Joe. He locked Joe up as if to go for his 'Pumphandle Back-breaker', but Joe gave elbows to the face to make Strong stagger back. Strong had his back to Joe for a split second, but it was long enough for Joe to lock in his Choke-hold! Strong battled in the move for ages, but wouldn't tap! It then began to appear that like Colt Cabana last month, Strong may pass out instead! The referee raised his hand, and it dropped. The same again. Next time and Strong would lose without tapping just like Cabana. The ref raises the arm – but Strong keeps it up! He tries to fight again, but Joe still had it locked in very strongly, and Roderick has nowhere to go. In the end, he has no choice but to tap out, but he put up one hell of a fight! Joe wins via submission. Match was boring at first, but got very good latter on. A real game of two halves.

9) ALEX SHELLEY and 'The Notorious 187' HOMICIDE def. JERRY LYNN and CHARLIE HAAS when Homicide pinned Lynn (24:17). Match of the night, a really good match. Lynn and Haas were off to a good start, but soon Lynn was isolated as Shelley and Homicide wore him down. It began with Homicide landing a great tope con-hilo on Lynn, before rolling him into the ring. He scored a two count from the move, but it began the isolation. An incapacitated Lynn was the only time Shelley would be in the ring at the same time, as he was obviously avoiding Jerry Lynn at full strength. From the quarter hour onwards though, the pace was upped and the match became a thrilling 'move-counter-move' back and forth match that either side could have won on many occasions. It began with Lynn getting the hot tag to Haas, who had been dying for the tag for ages. He went ballistic, Homicide and Shelley having no answer for him. At one point, he hit Shelley with his bridging 'German Suplex', only for Homicide to make the save. Later in the match, Shelley and Haas traded submission holds, as firstly Haas made the ropes whilst in the 'Border City Stretch', and Homicide again came to the rescue of Alex Shelley as Shelley was trapped in the 'Haas of Pain'. As the match really heated up in its final few minutes, Lynn hit the 'Cradle Piledriver' on Homicide, but this time it was Shelley who made the save for his team. One of the stories of the match was that Homicide could never hit the 'Cop Killah', and that is true of the finish. The finish saw Homicide go for the 'Cop Killah' as Haas and Shelley fight on the outside. Lynn though is able to escape, and shoves 'Cide off into a turnbuckle. Lynn quickly springs up and off the turnbuckle, taking Homicide down with a Tornado DDT. On the floor, Shelley gains the upper hand at this moment, whipping Haas into and over the crowd barrier, before diving into the ring. Lynn goes for the cover on Homicide, but Shelley is there to break it up at two. Shelley stays on the offensive, punching Lynn a few times, but Lynn fights back, ducks under a way-ward right from Shelley and delivers a flurry of his own shots that have Shelley back-peddling – right into a good position for Lynn to clothesline him over the top. Shelley goes crashing to the floor, watched by Lynn, and for a second or so, the referee. This second distraction was all Homicide needed however, as he crawled over to Lynn, and reached up, meeting Lynn with a low-blow! The crowd booed as Lynn began to fall, into an 'Ace Crusher'! 1-2-No! Lynn just kicks out. Homicide bangs his fists on the mat in frustration, then hoists Lynn up. He goes for another 'Cop Killah', but again Lynn fights off, shoving Homicide off the ropes. Lynn is still doubled over, feeling the effects of both the match and the low-blow however, and isn't prepared for when Homicide comes back – with a huge Lariat! Homicide nearly took the head of Jerry Lynn there! It sent an echo round the arena. Homicide made the cover. Out of the corner of the screen, Charlie Haas was crawling into the ring, but was far too late to make a save. Homicide steals another win on Jerry Lynn, and he and Shelley take a great tag team match! Very good action throughout.

--- A quick Joe interview ends the home release. Joe says that he asked Colt Cabana to prove himself, and Cabana went out there and beat his buddy Ricky Reyes. So fine. Cabana proved himself. If he wants another match with Joe, he has it. Just don't expect a happy ending.

Thoughts: A passable show, more of a show to advance storylines rather than deliver anything really special, although the main event is very good, there is the angle to really progress the Sydal/Daniels feud, and the four corner match could be rated higher, it was very enjoyable. As for the other plus points, nothing is relaly bad, and the RCE/Saints match, Lehtal/Keenan and Daniels/Sydal are all above average, enjoyable encounters. Cabana/Reyes is better yet, and though it is a slow starter, Joe/Strong does get very good. The opener is too short to really be good or bad, leaving Hallowicked/KUDO as the only disappointment, and even that isn't too bad. Overall though nothing that will really stick in the memory, or anything special, but there are worse shows than this solid outing.

Ok, here's a heads up on this. It probably hasn't skipped your attention that I haven't been updating this as often as I have been in the past. To tell the truth, I haven't been having as much fun with the game and writing this as I once did. However, this diary is NOT dead, in fact for the first time in days, I worked a little on the next show today.

I'd been thinking of doing something else, but one would have taken a lot of writing, and I chose the re-cap style APW has because I wanted something smaller to write. The second idea was an 'APW Spin-off' based on the King of the Lightweight tournament. It would have involved me starting a game with 24 of the top lightweights, and just simming a two night tournament. To give it depth, matches would be in full, or as close to full as I can write them. Since as its based on APW, you could have expected it to have an APW base in terms of wrestlers, and lets face it, a certain simularity in who got pushed in the tournament (A certain lizard man perhaps?). Of course, the tournament will come up in this diary soon anyway, but I had a way of explaining why two tournaments with the same name were entirely different.

I may still do this, I haven't decided.

Anyways, I was slightly thinking of ending this, I have this burning feeling that I know I want to write something, but I don't exactly know what. But, I did enjoy the little bit of work I did on this today, and dare I say, there should be an update up in the next few days. I should note however that I haven't actually planned much in advance beyond the next show, barring stuff I had planned months ago anyway, so where to beyond that I don't know yet.

So, in summary, maybe I have gotten a little tired of the game recently, but I'm not letting this die. The actual game has gotten kinda tough, as practically everyone I don't have has been signed elsewhere, but I still intend to carry this on. Sorry for the slow-down in/lack of updates, but expect one this week sometime.

And sorry if I rambled there, and thanks for reading!

I've actually had a lot of fun with the game today, and have ended up simming two or three shows ahead, giving me plenty to write about! The game is in a fun and scary place right now, because I have a fair few ideas of what I want to do, its just getting it all down and planning out exactly what happens when. TEW games for me have always operated in phases, and today was a good phase, I'd just had a bad few weeks.... Or maybe its just the sitting down and writing......?

Still slightly intertested in the idea of a one off huge lightweight tournament, but that'd be slow, and even though its only two nights of action, would take me months to do because I'd be putting this first. Also, the planned winner is the same as the planned winner in my next tournament in APW, so having the same guy win two similar tourneys would be strange.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the positive feedback, I'm glad you've enjoyed so far.
