I don't care about movies. But, as for the television part of it, here is what I would like to see win:

Best Television Series - Drama

Nominees:

"Lost" (2004)

"Prison Break" (2005)

"Rome" (2005)

- Any of these three would be fine by me. Lost will win, though. Rescue Me or Over There should have gotten a nomination.

Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy

Nominees:

- I don't like any show here. How I Met Your Mother is better than them all as far as comedy shows go.

Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominees:

"Into the West" (2005) (mini)

"Sleeper Cell" (2005)

- Either would do. Both are good (still watching Sleeper Cell, though)

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy

Nominees:

- Neil Patrick Harris should have been nominated.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama

Nominees:

Matthew Fox for "Lost" (2004)

Wentworth Miller for "Prison Break" (2005)

Kiefer Sutherland for "24" (2001)

- Any would do, but I'd like to see Wentworth Miller get the win. Michale Chiklis and Dennis Leary should have rounded out the other two spots.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama

Nominees:

Glenn Close for "The Shield" (2002)

Polly Walker for "Rome" (2005)

- At times I felt Glenn Close wasn't that great of a character on the Shield. I liked Polly Walker on Rome. But Close is getting the win.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominees:

Naveen Andrews for "Lost" (2004)

- Huh? Terry Quinn (Locke) doesn't get nominated? That is bad. I don't watch the other show sso I'd like to see Naveen win even if his character was pretty much non-existant this season plus his storyline sucked this season so far. Quinn, Josh Holloway, or Daniel Day Kim should have been nominated, not Andrews. No one from Rescue Me gets respect. <_<

Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television

Nominees:

- I don't care about this category, either as nothing interests me in it. Evangaline Lilly should have been nominated or C.C.H. Pounder. . <_<

I'm surprised they didn't give Munich a Picture Nod, but I see King Kong and Munich still being nominated at the oscars for best picture. I was hoping Naomi to be in the acctress category after all those raves in the reviews, but once again, I think she'll be fine without a Globes nod, and still has a chance at the academy awards. I'm happy fr Match Point and Brokeback Mountain though :D Here's who I think will take the Globe: (Just the film nominations)

Wow, the drama TV category's crap, I could name 5 dramas that aired this year better than those. Apart from that it looks okay. But now Scrubs/Office in the Comedy category hurts me.

I won't even both to do picks this year, because I've seen like, two of the films nominated. In all of the categories. Am I just ridiculously out of touch this year or did they go hardcore indie with the nominations?

Which I am sure is true in most theatres, but depending on where Beatnik lives... he probably doesn't get to see indies until they hit DVD shelves either. :ohwell:

Well, he did get to see Garden State when it opened, and that one was rather low key. Doesn't Beatnik live in Toronto? He should have indie films in his theatres if that's the case. Last time I checked while chatting with him on MSN, though, he's been working so much he really hasn't had time for the movies.

Yeah, I swear to God I'm not his stalker. :shuriken:

It isn't their fault... but I wish that they would leave them off until the upcoming year if it isn't released wide-enough for the audience to know what the film is.

"And winner for best picture... a movie only 200 people have seen..."

Oh, Yay! I heard it was good, but there is no way for me to tell until 5 months from now when I get to rent the DVD.

Brokeback Mountain is slowly going to expand(sort of like Million Dollar Baby), so it will most likely expand in toronto(people have been seeing it as its been breaking records in limited release). As for films like Capote and Good Night and Good Luck, I fear we might have missed them, unless they expand some more. Not worried about Munich or Kong though, they'll be playing everywhere.
