With all this Award season madness(which ends at the Kodak theatre on March 5th), I think its about time we choose the best performers and films for our little board. Yes, I know we have this all the time, but I'm unoriginal, and bored, and I love films. You can choose up to 5 nominees(3 Being min!!) and rank them....

The ranking system goes like this:

1st Choice: 5 points

2nd Choice:3 points

3rd Choice: 2 points

(and number 4 and 5 are both one point)

So what are the categories? Well you sure won't find Best short Documentary, thats for sure! :P

The Categories:

Best Film

Best Director

Best Actor

Best Actress

Best Supporting Actor

Best Film

1. Serenity

2. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Long Ass Movie Title

Best Supporting Actress

1. Anne Hathaway (Brokeback...I don't give a shit how shitty Princess Diaries was anymore.)

2. Catherine Keener (40 Year Old Virgin)

3. Elizabeth Banks (same movie.)

And I can't think of any more really solid ones...Michelle Williams wasn't grand enough in BB for me to care.

Best Visual Effects

2. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Same story, except change to Fitty mill)

3. Chronicles of Narnia

2. Summer Glau v. everyone (Serenity)

3. The final battle in Narnia

Best Villain

1. Chiwetel Ejiofor as The Operative (Serenity) - Man, that mofucker can act.

2. Tilda Swinton as The White Witch (Narnia) - That bitch can act, too.

3. Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow (Batman Begins)

Best Animated Film

No votes here because I think Corpse Bride is far too overrated for its own good.

Best Documentary

1. Grizzly Man - Because Werner Herzog is gangsta like that.

So yeah, my noms suck, but they're just noms...

There are no such things as Bad noms (Y)

Here is a list of eligible films!

Films for your consideration

I used the Academy's guidelines.

Screw the nominations rule, ROC sold me over. Just nominate with a max of five, and the ranking system is still the same. There, makes it easier for everyone.

EDIT: Sin City is not in the eligibility list...but you can add that film anyway

Its funny how I put Tilda in the Best supporting actress category while everone else puts her in the Best Actress category, the funny thing is that this type of stuff happens all the time.....category confusion...and thats why Mario Bello wasn't nominated(or Laura Linney) because the academy split them up, some putting them in one category while others put them in the other one. The funny thing is no one is really wrong, but it killed Scarlett Johannson's chances in Lost in Translation, when members of the academy were split putting her on both actress categories and unfortunentley there wasn't enough for one, so she was snubbed.

Therefore, if there are more votes for Tilda Swinton in the Best Actress category then the Best Supporting Actress, she will be placed in the Best Actress category. If she has enough votes to move on to both categories she will be placed in the category with the higher placed number of votes. This goes for any actor.

(Personally I wouldn't mind seeing her in the Best Actress category :shifty: )

Looking at it again, I probably should have had her as a Best Supporting Actress. She really doesn't have enough screen time to justify a best actress nod.

One more thing, when the nominations are announced should I:

1.) Have a poll with each category, where members choose one of the nominees

2.) Post the nominations, and have a secret ballot(members PM me with their choices, and then I announce them one by one in a thread)

3.) Post all the nominees and have the members post their choices in the thread
